Had a couple of drinks with my friends here. Great view and ample outside seating area.

Since the makeover the pub looks stunning and feels so much more inviting. There’s loads of seats inside and out, the staff are stunning and can’t do enough for you. Can’t wait to try out the terrace in the summer sun.

The Pub has just been refurbished to a high standard, making it a very nice place to visit, along with the fab views overlooking the river Dee.

Used to be nice pub totally ruined by obnoxious drunken landlady who, cometh close to the witching hour doesnt politely ask you to drink up but stands right next to you staring like a deranged extra from the league of gentlemen. There are far better pubs in Chester to spend your money. This place is for.....local people.

We visit The Mount at least once a week, often more, and absolutely love it. The views are genuinely stunning, the staff are always friendly, and the organised entertainment regularly put on is top notch. As a group of four friends, Thursday nights are favourite night at The Mount. Each week there is a well put-together, and more importantly FUN, digital pub quiz that is totally free to enter. Despite costing nothing to play, a range of prizes are handed out, giving the pub a really friendly and family feel. We’ve been taking part in the weekly quiz for 18 month now and have made some really good friends. I cannot recommend this pub highly enough!

What a brilliant pub - best in Chester - I'd say 'hidden gem' but its always busy.Great beers on handpump and well loved and cared for,pies are brilliant,location is idyllic,atmosphere always lively and friendly,manager and staff happy and amenable. My mate and I travel for a lads day out to Chester throughout the Spring and Summer and our previous fave (Union Vaults) stopped selling mild (and opening early) so research found the marvellous Mount and the rest is history.About a mile walk from the station/£5 in a taxi. Its just a brilliant place - views,beer,prises,staff,locals,the lot. Hidden gem - but found by many to be as good as it is !! And it is !

Popped in several times since August after we have moved back to Chester. Pies are fantastic, good range of drinks reasonably priced. Friendly staff with really good customer service. Obviously the view is amazing (even though we only live across the road!).

Recently moved to the area. This gem was recommended to me. Great location and great views over the river Dee and to the Welsh mountains. The manager James is very welcoming and the staff are all great and customer focused. Great traditional pub

Tuesday 29th August 2023 We visited this great hydes pub on the outskirts of Chester 2 minutes from the Bluestone pub This pub today served 6 good hydes ales on hand pump ant it had good staff working pleasent easy going atmosphere with nice local following This pub has one of the finest views from its beer garden in England that I've seen, and I've been to over 1300 pubs in the last 40 years This pub is very good indeed

This is a great little pub with the best view in Chester overlooking a bend in the River Dee. It is friendly and has a good range of beers.

Very efficient staff and lovely to sit outside in the sunshine looking over the Meadows .

Food not served after 8pm and arrived at 8:05. Staff is friendly and helpful and the views are amazing.

Had a nice pint here last week with the current wife and small kids. Very enjoyable, I wanted to stay but unfortunately the kids needed food.

What a hidden gems this place is!!! The views out the back are breath taking, staff are very welcoming and have a great product knowledge. If you are a cask ale drinker the Lowry is a fantastic golden ale with loads of flavour. We didnt have food as we had just eaten but the food looked lovely. Will visit again when we are in the area.

On a walk and it began to rain so we dipped into the Mout Inn. They did a lovely pie and staff were friendly. It had amazing views so it was a Shame it was raining as they had a great terrace overlooking the river! We will be back to enjoy it in the sun!

I have been a regular visitor to the Mount Inn for 10 years. The views overlooking the river are one of the best in Chester and on a sunny day you can’t beat having a drink in the beer garden. The pub is warm and welcoming and you’re always greeted with a friendly smile.

Lovely pub with well kept Hyde's ales, really well priced too, the best view in Chester they claim, I'm not going to argue with that but it wasn't the best viewing conditions when I visited, bit overcast and snowy! Certainly worth the short walk from Chester city centre.

Popped in here a week ago with my dad, the pub location is 5 out of 5 all day, it is stunning outside the back looking over the river dee. Only issue was the staff seemed not motivated and when we went there, there seemed to be lots of youngsters in and out the toilets constantly.

My mate Sam, has been bigging up the boughton mile for some time. This was the third pub on route. Great beers & out of this world views of Chester. Unfortunately they don’t do food anymore. I craved a lasagne with a side salad, alas, nothing.

Review is based on my expectations so may be unfair in that I was expecting food and this pub doesn't serve any. The selection of drinks available isn't great, but...and it's a big but, it has some of the most spectacular views from the outside balcony. The guy behind the bar was also very friendly and helpful so can't fault that. If you're looking for a bottle of Bulmers to enjoy in the sun with beautiful views of the river, I would highly recommend. If you're looking for some delicious food and a wide variety of drinks then head elsewhere.

Great views of the river Dee and Chester not overpriced like most city pubs . Could do with some umbrella's in the beer garden as it gets extremely hot in the sun.

This pub is amazing In terms of its location and décor. I have a business on the River Dee and I have to be quite honest the customer service here is shocking. I have complained to Hyde's before about this. They need to remove ALL the old staff and start again. This place wouldn't servive but for. its location.

I have always loved this pub, but sadly after tonight's experience i will never return. We came for the pub quiz and some food. When we arrived the bar lady informed us they had stopped serving food 1 month ago. As my partner has a medical condition he needed to eat something so we got some chips from the burger van across the road. We were sat right at the bottom of the garden away from everyone and had already had 2 pints each. The landlord came running down to us screaming and shouting like a loonatic. I apologised and explained that my partner had a medical issue and we didn't realise they had stopped serving food and we will put our chips away as we wanted to stay for the pub quiz. He wasn't having any of it loves the sound of his own voice as we couldn't get a word in. He embarrassed us infront of the whole beer garden screaming and shouting at us. Made us leave wouldn't even let us finish our drinks. Marched us out of the pub very aggressively and abrupt. Landlord has no social skills and Sadly because of his reaction and behaviour I will not be returning.

When the sun is out this pub suddenly becomes my favourite place to take my friends to, enjoy a pint and watch the best views of the meadows, Handbridge and Hope hills. Good beer too. Just wait for a sunny day and check it out.

Chester's best kept secret. Great service and lovely view from terraces.

Walked here one evening for dinner with my partner. We were greeted by dog related smells coming from the beer garden which provided us with a stunning view of dog dirt on a steep hill. The terrace looked nice but as we walked down I felt eyes watching us constantly. The stairs are not suitable for anyone who may find very steep rickety steps an issue. We didn’t end up sitting outside due to the presents left by dogs and the midges. We ended up picking a table inside the pub which wasn’t as crowded as the beer garden and terrace. The seats were falling apart but at this point I just wanted a sit down and a cool drink. We ordered our food at the bar (fish and chips) along with our drinks. The atmosphere was perfect if you are in need of a headache caused by heavy doors slamming constantly which occurred every couple of minutes or so. The food was okay but the fish seemed a little overdone (at this point though we just wanted to finish the food and leave as this was very minor compared to everything else). Remember the midges? A couple of them had taken up residence inside the pub too and were rather interested in our food although I can’t say the same for the two of us.
