Very cold soggy burger, first time and never again. Expensive and poor value for money. Delivery girl went away to her car after 11 seconds and the food was poor, low quality and freezing cold. Had to microwave it to be even edible.

Visited in the evening with my husband, not greeted on arrival despite the pub being fairly empty (4 other tables in and two groups at the bar) so headed to the pub, we were served quickly by a young lad and had a drink before introducing ourselves at the host desk. Considering the pub was very empty, we were shown to the worst, draughtiest table in the entire pub, right next to the door, which children were running in and out of. The "host" placed menus on the table and walked off, not explaining if it was table service and without further conversation. My husband then went back to the host stand and asked for a different table, which was not a problem at all and resolved very quickly. We noted that the pub felt cold and they should have taken the opportunity to light the beautiful open fire they had or at the very least turned up the heating on one of the stormiest nights of the year! Our order was taken relatively quickly and a small bucket brought over with cutlery (a picky bugbear of mine.) Our starters of calamari were enjoyable but on the chewier side, our steaks were lovely and certainly a filling dish, but we did have to wait whilst someone fetched us steak knives from the kitchen, as they "were being washed" which felt like it took an age and considering there were only four other tables in the pub rather shocking. The service was somewhat lacking and we did have to flag someone down for further drinks. I'm not one for missing dessert (ever) but the dessert menu was very uninspiring and evidently brought in generic cakes, so we skipped this. We felt that the pub could be so much better, considering it's refurbishment and setting, all it lacks is the warmth of hospitality that should come with customer service.

First of all the shining star of this pub is the amazing staff, couldn’t do enough to make sure everything was perfect. Which it was. Sunday lunch is to die for, lots of fresh veg and meat cooked to perfection. Make sure you leave room for a pudding, the apple crumble cannot be missed! Thank you for fitting us in with no notice. The pub atmosphere is warm and welcoming drinks and food are reasonably priced. Wish we could have stayed longer!

We brought some cheese and onion pies to take home, so so tasty, very generous filling; really fabulous quality. We heated them up for 20 mins in the oven. Lovely! Highly recommend; we are going to order some more as they are very good indeed. The Bakewell tart was also good (huge- shared it !) heated up with ready made custard in the microwave -

Really fantastic birthday evening at Kira, I cannot believe I didn't take picture of each plate we had. I will have to add them on our next meal out. Thanks so much for the lovely evening on my birthday.

From the street, you’d be forgiven thinking Easy Fish was just a fishmongers in a row of shops. Walk in and you quickly realise that this isn’t “just” a fishmongers, albeit a really good one. Round the back of the shop is a casual restaurant. We haven’t been for quite a while but spotted on the website that they have a short, well priced lunch menu - just five starters and the same mains, at six quid for the former, sixteen for the latter. They used to have a second branch in Wilmslow but that didn’t last toolong and it closed earlier this year So, to start, there’s a classic prawn cocktail – generous serving of prawns, salad and Marie Rose sauce. And, on the other plate, a small filet of smoked mackerel, served warm and accompanied by a dollop of chorizo “jam” – an underwhelming dollop of not very flavoursome red stuff For mains there was a leek and parmesan risotto, topped with a well cooked fillet of smoked haddock. And a classic, and very nicely executed, moules frites. Again a generous portion in a well flavoured mariniere broth, enriched by a splash of cream. Nice crisp chips and two hunks of warm bread. And mayo for dunking was offered and accepted. I could have been back in Belgium! Decent lunch all round. And we stopped in the shop and bought tuna and a couple of mackerel.

An impromptu visit for a bite to eat on a sunny Tuesday evening. This place was absolutely buzzing-great atmosphere, lovely staff & good quality food and drink…what’s not to like! Well done to Will, Daniel & all of the team as we know how hard they’ve all worked to create this wonderful place.
