We brought some cheese and onion pies to take home, so so tasty, very generous filling; really fabulous quality. We heated them up for 20 mins in the oven. Lovely! Highly recommend; we are going to order some more as they are very good indeed. The Bakewell tart was also good (huge- shared it !) heated up with ready made custard in the microwave -

We stopped here for Pie and mash, it was one of those days were the weather turned your thoughts to stick on your ribs comfort food. We had the Lamb hot pot pie and the beef and ale pie; both good but the beef pie was the better pie. Yummy horseradish mash and mushy peas. The sides are big enough for three people to share.

The pie was nice but not the best I have encountered, the mustered mash was nice but was a very small portion. The bakewell tart was dry and did not feel like it was made fresh that day. Nice meal and I would eat here again I just feel like it could of been much better

We've been here a few times and often take some pies home with us but were disappointed with the breakfast. We both chose eggs on sourdough toast with bacon. My scrambled eggs had too much milk added (one of my pet peeves) and the bacon was a bit undercooked. Simple breakfast badly done!

Very tasty and filling pies so much so I only had a half! There is a great range of sides so I suggest getting some to share with whoever you are with as a pie and a whole dish of mash is quite a lot to eat!

We were visiting Macclesfield on a Monday and had checked on TA for suitable cafes for lunch. Unfortunately, because it was Monday some of the good ones were closed and so, in the end, we chose Lord of the Pies.. I chose a pie and my OH chose a toasted sandwich. I am a mean piemaker myself and this did not come up to my exacting standards! The filling was OK, but the shortcrust pastry did not live up to it's name, ie not short, but rather hard!! My OH's sandwich was brie and bacon, not a lot of brie in it and strangely, the bacon was small lardons and not cooked very well. My latte was good, but the Americano was as described by martinaW3945SL, very weak and not particularly a good blend and my OH left it. So, all in all, the Lady of the Pies would not return!

Only went for a coffee with friends. the flat white was just too milky with no strong coffee flavour I expect from a flat white . I challenged the staff whether 2 shots of coffee were in it and they claimed there was. I suggest if you offer flat whites you learn how to make them properly

Nipped in for Lunch with the the family, received no menus when we sat down. When we ordered food, I’d ordered a pie to which I paid for to then be told they don’t have any, at the same time I ordered drinks, 15 mins later we asked where the drinks were.... to which the waitress reply was ‘you’ve had your coke, I left it on the side’.... I clearly sat at the table with no drinks in front of us, to which we were told we hadn’t ordered any... when she asked the chef he read them back to her on the check, she brought them over after about a 20 mins and the excuse was she’s been busy with food, we were the last ones in there.... more like sat on her phone talking to the chef.

My partner and I love this place! I feel rather guilty for not leaving a review before now as we come all the time & definitely recommend. I've brought various friends & family here & they have all loved it! As a vegetarian I was slightly worried there wouldn't be that many vegetarian options, but it's great to see exciting vegetarian flavours. My particular favourite pie is the vegan'Chorlton pie'& their gravy is vegetarian too!! They also offer really great sharing platters, which are delicious. I can't quite understand a few of the previous reviews saying the portions are small...the pies are the size of the plate?!?! Many be they tried something else though. Lovely vibe & friendly staff, all in all a great place & I'm so glad Macclesfield has somewhere like this!

The staff were excellent and the atmosphere was nice - my main issue was the value of money. I had a lovely beef and stilton pie which was delicious but, at near enough £5 for a small pie, it should be! Sides were £2.50 each but don't bother - utter rip off. Portion sizes were minuscule so not worth having. The food and ambience were nice but I could see why it was so quiet for a lovely sunny day - price!! I don't mind paying £14 for lunch but I do expect it to be a hearty full plate at that price - everything I ate fit on to a small side plate. People around me were saying the same thing. If you are feeling flush and you want a nice pie, get down there :)

There's no wonder this place has won awards for its pies! It's one of my favourite places to eat all the pies are amazing and the sides are perfect. The pie salad was a first for me a few weeks back but I am converted, the red cabbage slaw is very special. It annoys me when I see reviews of idiots that say it's expensive it's not at all , you pay for it's quality ingredients. My advice if you think it's expensive you belong in greggs!!! Can't recommend this place enough. Now with the new Chorlton shop open I might be visiting even more. All three shops are consistently good and the staff are excellent. This is a business that prides its self on quality which is nice to see these days. We have visited many times since the restaurant opened. At the weekend we just fancied one of their Macc pies maybe with some mushy peas, we weren't disappointed. I have just one criticism though, with the pies (my wife had a seasonal turkey pie) we wanted a bottle of a particular locally made beer. They didn't have any in stock but the young waitress (bless her) recommended a bottle of Bollington Best and said it was similar to the one we wanted so we gave it a try. My complaint is that the beer was so good we will have to buy some more. I wish they did a trip advisor for beer, it could be called sip advisor or sup advisor. Great place highly recommended

Restaurant is ok for small groups, probably difficult to accommodate groups of more than 6 without feeling like a battery hen. Food is reasonably nice and well priced. Service was shocking. To consider it's just pies and mash. Some of our group had finished meals before others food had arrived. Not all requested dishes arrived. Fairly annoying that neither of the pig pie options were available when we visited. A lady and man came in for takeaway and we're looking particularly dejected in their wait time - probably had no lunch break left by the time they received their fodder. Maybe they were having a bad day, but need to do significantly better.

We have been a few time and thoroughly enjoyed each visit, plus a couple of takeaways.

Been here twice now. The pies are so tasty, lots of different fillings all served with horseradish mash, mushy peas and red cabbage. The waiting staff are so nice. The restaurant itself is spotlessly clean. Well worth a visit......arrive with a good appetite!

I certainly would - fantastic pie shop with great range of different gorgeous pies and great coffee. Just as good taking them home as eating in. Chicken/wine/butter bean one amazing. Beef and blue cheese great too. Yum.

The best pies in Macclesfield! A nice restaurant with a great selection of pies. Nice friendly helpful staff. The lamb pie is my favourite.

Pies. Pies are great. I'm not eating a pie currently, but if I was, then life would be considerably less miserable. I have eaten a pie recently though, from this very establishment, and let me tell you, it was a *good* pie. It was filled with meat and wrapped in a pastry prison, which legally makes it a pie by UK law. If this shop was a boat in international waters, they could wrap the meat up in a dirty cloth, and it would be a pie by maritime law, but luckily they didn't, which is OK by me.

We needed somewhere for a quick lunch in Macclesfield town centre and my colleague suggested Lord Of The Pies as he had seen some good reviews (and queues when it first opened). I was slightly hesitant as I can't eat pastry but was reassured that there were gluten free options. Ok so it was more of a hot pot than a pie - but it was beautiful. Would definitely go back.

We sat in the cosy back listening to the rain filling our tummies with the most delicious pie and mash. Couple of recommended ales to wash it down while the kids had a fantastic choice of soft drinks to choose from . Friendly service and great vibe. Really hope this place lasts. Good luck guys. Everyone should try it at least once ..

Great food! Nice beer. Hope that it continues and becomes as popular as the Leppard.

Always a delight to have breakfast here. Proper full breakfast cooked and served to perfection by Holly and Gemma. There's nothing here to complain about at all. Always a warm welcome, and just a pleasure to make time here for a proper breakfast. What more can I say?

We used to regularly walk to Miola for a coffee and can’t believe how it has changed. Outside is a complete dump with tatty pieces of furniture up for sale at ridiculous prices . The elephant and giraffe which have been there for years are still for sale at a ridiculous price. Toilet was filthy with no toilet paper. Chose to sit outside as had children with us and tables were tatty and dirty. The food was overpriced and mediocre. Bacon sandwich with virtually no bacon. Peanut butter on toast which was slimy and greasy. Children took one look and didn’t touch it and can’t say I blamed them. It is so sad as Miola used to be such a lovely place to go to. Can only assume that with Holmes Chapel closing its on the cards that Sandbach will close as well. So disappointing and what a waste of money !
