Dropped in on the off chance, one table free. Staff welcoming attentive and speedy although busy they had time to chat and quickly worked out the running joke. A very pleasant evening and not expensive. Definitely will go again. met some old friends and some new ones

What a lovely little pub with some good ales and dinner was excellent. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Toilets and decor let it down a little but this little place on the outskirts of town deserves its great reputation for its food and beer and I hope more people give it a visit

Popped in here for a roast dinner. The staff were so lovely really friendly and helpful and kind. We had roast dinner I had the nut roast my hubby had the beef. Yorkshire puddings were fab and it was nice and hot with fresh veg. The nut roast wasn’t the best a bit disappointing it didn’t taste homemade. Hubby had the biscoff cheesecake and enjoyed that and the local ale was lovely. Wheelchair and mobility friendly you can park right outside and toilets are on the flat. A lady had the pie with chips next to us and that looked yummy too… reasonably priced too

This is a small pub that serves traditional pub grub that is very nice and reasonably priced. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. It is advisable to book if there are more than two of you.

The food here was lovely, had a Sunday roast and it was tasty and well presented. Disappointed that they had ran out of the lamb and beef options but I guess if we'd have booked earlier that wouldn't be a problem. The bar is a small traditional pub, but has a covered outside space should you prefer to eat out there. The staff were friendly and helpful and I'd recommend this place for a some decent pub grub.

Been here twice now, once midweek and had fish and chips, not bad for £10 each but very small portion. Been again today 5 of us for Sunday lunch, very small portion again, 2 small slices of meat and not much veg wise apart from some hard carrots, tiny bit of cabbage, 2 roast potatos, and a spoonful of mash, and some green beans. Terrible portion size. Left hungry had to cook a whole meal at home 2 hours later, won't be returning.

As we were in a hurry and as we do not like to complain, we said nothing. The mash potatoe was very nice, as was the Yorksire pudding. The veg was okay but the lamb was chewy, the gravy had no flavour and the roast potatoes were hard and bland. My wife had a cheesecake for desert which was very tasty. The main meal cost £12.75 each and for that money, we expected much better in terms of service and food quality and flavour. The pub was quite busy and the couple next to us were very impressed with their Sunday lunch, despite them waiting to get their meals at least 15 minutes before us yet they got them AFTER us! Still, different people have different standards and expectations but in our opinion, the food was not worth the high price and we will not be returning.

1st time at The Globe, won't be the last! Staff were friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable, food was home cooked and really great, I had the chilli con carne and my mate had the lasagne, both were absolutely top notch. Dessert was apple crumble cheesecake (a new one on me) which was brilliant (and that's from someone who's not really a pudding person)... Add to that Guinness on draught and very reasonable prices and what's not to like!

I highly recommend reserving a table if you fancy food . The food here is good old home cooked generous portions & reasonable prices . Sunday roast lunch is beautifully as is everything on the menu . I asked for an extra pot of gavy & it was brought to us immediately. Staff are so friendly it feels like your at home with friends. Proper pub Proper beer Proper food it's Proper good!

Sunday lunch here is the best, I had the nut roast,which was fabulous, honestly the best meal, also the team are just fantastic, nothing to much trouble, always made to feel welcomed, if you have not been here,you are missing out. Thank you all, also Eric (the chug) says thank you as well.

My first time visiting this pub on a family recommendation. The pub was very busy with a wonderful atmosphere. I ordered the steak and ale pie and it was beautiful. Will certainly be back again.

Had a lovely meal here last night and have been a few times now . It doesn’t disappoint. The home made hand cut chips are like mother used to make . Such good value and dog friendly as well . Just wish it was within walking distance so we could get here more often

Called last evening and had the most wonderful time. The quality of the meal was superb and the service was excellent.We ordered across the tapas menu and the dishes were ready within minutes of each other arriving piping hot and absolutely delicious.

Fantastic food and great value for money

We should come here more often, the lunch at £9.00 each is fantastic value for money (I don't know how they do it). Together with the great service and a lovely pint and off course more than plenty of delicious food. We had a Vegetarian burger and two Lasagna dishes, we'll be coming again pretty soon.

We come to The Globe regularly and have had lots of Sunday Lunches eating in and takeaway, it's our favourite place to go for a traditional Sunday Lunch. We went today and all we can say is OUTSTANDING its the best Sunday Lunch we have ever had, the meat was cooked perfectly, the mash and vegetables were cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully.

I used to go in here years ago when it was a beautiful cosy traditional English pub, with beautiful home cooked food. The place was clean and inviting. Now?? You could not get more different. Went in for Sunday lunch and waited ages at the dirty bar where I was surrounded by uncleared tables. The bartender was having a cigarette outside and came sauntering in, sighing and shoving a stained piece of paper into my hand. That's right folks, it was the menu! No more laminated nice folder menus, just a crumpled piece of paper covered in ketchup. I ordered the Sunday roast, and had to return it twice. It was cold and inedible. The first time it was clear it had been shoved into a microwave, and the second time the potatoes were like bullets. I ended up walking out, and noted that a few others were doing the same. What an absolute shame. This place used to have pride, cleanliness beautiful food and roaring fire. It has well and truly gone to the dogs.

Very friendly staff, great food and dog friendly. They make your dog welcome. Definitely recommend a visit.

Been today for dinner couldn't fault it spot on thank you, and the syrup sponge pudding was just like mum used to make.

Early doors mid week food excellent 3 fish tapas I was told they were fantastic they looked good I had the burger fresh bap perfectly cooked and the chips are just to die for. Thankyou for a lovely meal.

Scrummy Pub Food . Excellent value, very good quality. Carol my partner joined friends last Friday 23rd June at 6.30pm . We all had the sirloin steak, salad and chips which included two bottles of wine. The Steaks were excellent, tender and full of flavour. Each steak was cooked to exact requirements. One of our party was the elected driver and could not drink. Wine left over was taken home. At a cost of £35.00 per couple it was a very good value, excellent quality, accompanied by a very respectable Malbec. Thank you to all the Team at the Globe. We will be back to see you very soon.

Can’t fault the Globe have used in many times, have tried most of the menu so decided to try Tapas, 3 for £15 , it was beautiful. Will be back again in a couple of weeks to see the friendly staff and have some more lovely food . Compliments to the chef

Food was not great. Had to ask for menu....no offer of dessert or another drink. My wine glass had lipstick marks on it. At 9.45pm music in pub turned off and everyone left meaning just us there. Very awkward, felt like they were just waiting for us to leave. Won't go back.

Excellent ! Called for lunch and how nice it was to find a great menu of popular favourites at more than fair prices. Wonderful wide choice of real beers,too - again with very fair pricing. A most enjoyable experience helped by a most obliging staff.

Well, what can I say, but this place is just the most perfect eatery. The prices, the portions, the taste, and the quality were just perfect. The lady who served us was also so polite and welcoming. All in all, the most perfect of lunches.

This was the first time we had been back for ages and I must say what a great time we had. The food was amazing and the service couldn’t have been any better. We were a big party and everyone had different meals but all were served promptly, hot and absolutely delicious. Already trying to arrange when we can get back to enjoy more off the superb menu.

Reading my old review from 2020 the two steaks and a bottle of wine was £15. Now at £35 that seems astonishing. At any rate it's still good value for money in these times. Chips were magnificent; not fantastically crisp, but very nice. Good salad, lovely mushrooms and a delish sauce. Wine was pretty good too. Still the stars of the show were the staff. Attentive, warm, friendly, happy to help. If you live near, it are visiting, make the effort to go; it's well worth it.

We had a lovely meal at the Globe tonight, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food. Staff were brilliant,, atmosphere was great. At the end of the meal, Chef even came out, to ask what we thought of the food. We will definitely be going back.Couldn't fault it.

The food we had was ok, not the choice of menu on the website, that wasn't make clear. Also no mention of then not taking cash when I booked . Will not return.

We had the most fantastic Christmas meal last night the food and atmosphere was outstanding. The service we received by Emma was incredible. The bottles of wine were flowing, we were going on to somewhere else but stayed on, as we were having a great time.

Called on on the off chance they had a table. Greeted by friendly staff. Ordered three meals…… fish and chips, lasagne and steak and ale pie. All meals were amazing. Haven’t been in here for a few years, glad we came in. I had tapas, calamari, meatballs and chicken, very nice, my wife gammon and father in law steak. We all enjoyed it, wine was nice, service, great.

Have had several steak meals over the last few weeks, absolutely wonderful and cooked to perfection. Had several lunches too, would recommend to anyone looking for good, wholesome, reasonably priced food. Staff are lovely too.

We eent for lunch only us in the pub, ordered pie and chips which was a plate of beef casserole with a flaky pastry top, not very nice at all, the tables were sticky and tbh the whole place needed a good clean, won't be back.
