We visited today for the first time. We were welcomed along with our very nervous dog Pearl. The pub is just so lovely, really beautifully decorated and clean and cosy. Busy but not too busy. Staff are very friendly. We had a turkey roast and a vegetarian roast and we were both blown over by how good the food tasted, I won't stop thinking about that food now for days it was that good. Can't wait to visit again soon!

This pub has had its ups and downs under previous owners so we visited on the back of a recommendation. Well we had a pleasant greeting, shown to our table and soon had drinks. No rush to pick from the menu and food ordered. This is where it has gone wrong before but this time the food was absolutely fabulous. I couldn't fault it in fact we revisited a few days later but their was a lot more of us, about 10. Fabulous food and a nice touch when the owner comes round with sauces etc. The owners have changed the future of this pub and I would have no hesitation in recommending. We will be back.

Such a gem! Really good menu that caters for gluten free dietary requirements so very well. Can accommodate big, group bookings no problem too! Staff really welcoming and service just right. Would highly recommend!

The service was great as well as the food. Lovely atmosphere and fast service overall we will be returning as it was definitely one of the best if not the best Sunday roasts ever.

This charming Grade2 listed building houses a contemporary refit with light oak timber complemented by feature William Morris wall covering and comfortable seating. The young energetic, customer focussed staff are are led by experienced competent and professional management - supported the efficient kitchen brigade. They serve a range well kept Robinsons ales, together with kegs and larger, plus a thoughtful wine list. The food offering id 'on-point' - well cooked and well presented. The staff team and management are relatively new to the venue. They are personable and deserve to succeed.

I have been to this establishment once and i would not go back. The way the assuming ‘landlord’ treats the members of staff is absolutely disgusting, degrading and a want to be gordan ramsey with his attitude. I over heard him make a comment about a staff member’s appearance/body when they had come in on a sunny day off and it was nothing but rude. The landlady is nice if not slightly patronising. I have also heard that the work place was very overstaffed at one point having several staff on with nothing to do so it resulted in the staff being sent home. ( friend of a friend knows a friend of a friend ). Other than that the service was great and i had a lovely lady serve me on the bar who was nothing but respectful. Reply- I could not give an exact date but will check my Banking App and give you a rough estimate. It was not a personal attack i have never met the landlady or landlord before this experience or heard of you guys. I personally overheard the comment he made about a member of staff , and only knew they were a member of staff from the conversation i overheard them have with another staff member. It is not slander when it is the truth and i added in a comment from someone else maybe that was incorrect of me but if an establishment is going to have a bad reputation id want to know that , not if their chips are nice.

I thought this was going to be a lovely, traditional pub. However, it has been modernised in a way that's sucked all the character out of the place. Fake wood, plasticky fittings, cheesy notices ugh. Staff were very nice though.

Lovely pub with friendly staff food was good but for the price of the meal, when I ordered fish and chips, I would have expected something else. A little decoration of lemon and tartar sauce would not hurt at all. Also When I asked for mayonnaise, they bring it in bowl and put it on my plate with a spoon and take it away. I think that every table should have its own sauces not like a michelin restaurant .

A great place for a meal or to meet up with friends. It's been recently redecorated, and very well, the decor is just right, consistent and well thought through. It adds to the very pleasant experience.

Since Diane and Geoff have taken this place the food and service is out of this world! They serve THE best roast dinner you'll ever have and the prices are great too. Everything is excellent and I would highly recommend!!

Visited today with friends for a beautiful Sunday roast, we were greeted by new owner Diane and shown to our table and the Chef popped over to our table to say hello which I thought was a lovely thing to do, the food was far beyond our expectations, really tasted and plenty of it and nothing was to much trouble. I would definitely recommend this lovely friendly local for a meal with friends or family if you’re looking for something a little special at a reasonable price.

Been under new management for recently. It was our first time there on Sunday. Just made it in before they stopped serving the Sunday Roasts. We were not dissapointed. The beef was sold out. We had the pork and if the beef was half as good it explained why it was sold out! Great selection of puddings. Good selection of Robinsons beers. Great atmosphere and comfortable seating. All the facilities were clean. Will definitely be going back!

Our experience at this restaurant was nothing short of phenomenal! The incredible food, prepared by the talented Geoff the chef and managed beautifully by Diane at the front of house, left us thoroughly impressed. We enjoyed a delightful Sunday lunch featuring perfectly roasted potatoes, succulent turkey, a medley of fresh vegetables, and enormous, mouth-watering Yorkshire puddings. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the best gravy we've ever tasted! For dessert, we indulged in a delectable chocolate brownie served with ice cream, although I requested mine with custard, and it was divine. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was top-notch. We highly recommend this gem of a restaurant for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience!

First visit since its re-vamp, very nicely done Only popped in for a light lunch with a friend, we had the soup and sandwich. Have to say the soup was lovely as was the very small sandwich. Disappointed with the portion sizes for £9.00, wouldn’t have that again for that reason, but will try something else next time.

Could not compliment the ladies that accommodated our group enough, we came in last minute with a group of 7 and they bent over backwards to fit us in! The food was great, the service was great and shout out the sticky toffee pudding!

From the moment we walked through the door to the moment we left we were made to feel very welcome. Super friendly staff & 1st class service all round. We’ve followed Goef & Diane from The Plough & Flail in Mobberley to Arighi Bianci then to The White Horse in Disley. They are the perfect peopleto have a place of their own and should be seen as a great addition to the village. The meal in itself was Garlic Prawns on Chiabata followed by Roast Sirloin of Beef served pink followed by homemade crumble with locally sourced ice cream. Delicious!!

A family get together for us made all the more successful by the attitude of the staff. Really great afternoon, thank you! 👏

We are from Chapel and had not been in before , this being a 1st time visit , v-pleasantly surprised. Looks to have been recently renovated , Bright / v-clean spacious , staff attentive / polite /courteous . Food was perfectly cooked / delivered . Well recommended .

All were excellent as was the pudding - crumble and custard all round. I’ve found Robinson’s beer can be a bit hit and miss but both pints were very good. The service was attentive and they were very welcoming of our toddler and four legged friends in the bar area. Pleased that the pub is continuing to serve the Disley community - we’ll be back for sure.

Awesome, went a couple of months ago. We were served great food with faster service than I was expecting (I believe we had someone called Matt). I hope this restaurant re opens soon as it truly was a hidden gem.

We came to Disley for lunch after visiting Lyme Park on a rainy Saturday and finding the gluten-free options for lunch were limited. The White Horse Pub was light and clean and offered gluten-free options. I had an amazing vegetable lasagne with a delicious salad and my husband had gammon and chips. Really good find. Great staff.

had previously called up to book table for two,they said they wernt sure if one was available they went to check and came back and said it wasnt, they were fully booked, I managed to just get a place for one. When i arrived there were two large tables and a smaller table that remained empty for the hour i was eating, i did ask what the situation was and was told they cancelled; on leaving I spoke to the guy waiting on and basically said I dont think 3 tables would have cancelled. I went onto say that I think the excuse of saying initially when I booked was them hoping on walk in customers. i told him I wasnt happy and that a table for two could have been booked, he was flippant in his answer which led me to say I wouldnt be back and then followed a few insulting word from the waiter. Moral for this place is dont book, it means nothing ! best still dont go, i dont and neither do the people Ive told, minor mistakes you can put up with but staff arguing back, its a NO NO,

Nice walk to a great pub,takes about 30mins to walk from High Lane. We both had the Chilli with half rice half chips which was lovely throughly enjoyed. Compliments to the chef. The staff were really nice and obviously do a great job. It was lovely to go to a pub and be able to hear each other speak and actually see each other.Well done to the whole team.

Visited on steak night which I believe is first Friday of month - 2 steaks (rump) with a bottle of wine (which retails around £17.00) according to wine list for £40.00. Fab food and service.

We have visited The White Horse, Disley on a number of occasions and each time have had an enjoyable experience. Free wi fi, car park at rear and nice ambiance. The food is delicious and we’ll portioned. The staff are always very friendly and accommodating. There is an adequate selection of food and drink. A word of warning is if you’re a fussy eater (like my Wife). Their Sunday menu is a reduced selection to their regular one, which is fair enough.

Serves a great pint of unicorn but lacking in atmosphere

Went today with group of friends. Very disappointed. I had the Barnsley chop struggled to cut it even with steak knife and lots of gristle. When I complained on settling bill spoke to chef who only seemed concerned in telling me no one else had ever complained. Not a good attitude!!!

The white horse disley has a wonderful, clean, tidy, happy pub environment and atmosphere. The staff are polite and kind. Food is absolutely fantastic trust me you are going to be well fed and it is priced at a very reasonable price too. The pub has a decent variety of tap, keg beers as well as guest ales. Plus the favourite lagers. Moretti is superbly served here. They also stock a wide variety of gins and other pub favourites. Amy the landlady has taken this establishment from strength to strength, and it reflects on the stuff because they are happy and kind as well. Just goes to show, happy landlady, happy staff. Ben and Matthew served us today. Very knowledgeable of the menu and specials that were on offer. I can highly recommend a fish and chips and also the Sunday roast. They are simply the Best. Fantastic pub all round, clean and comfortable with excellent service and even better food. Surrounded by the Peak District and beautiful countryside.

The White Horse is situated just off Fountain Square in the centre of Disley. There is a car park to the rear of the pub with ample spaces. The pub has recently been refurbished and has a more modern look not reflecting the age of this establishment. There were cask ales on offer but the choice was limited because it's a Robinson's pub. The menu was varied with the emphasis on traditional English food. The food was of a high standard and the service from the guy working front of house was excellent. This is the only place I have been asked, after the “ is everything ok with your food”, if I would like more gravy. There were buttons on every table which could be pressed to bring over the serving staff for extra drinks etc. The prices were on the high side compared to other pubs and the value for money was not great. Overall the experience was good and I would certainly recommend a visit to the White Horse if you are in the Disley area.

The wine I chose first was not quite how I was expecting it to taste, I would have drank it but the bar server insisted I tried a couple of others. I went with the Sicilian which she recommended and was a lovely light wine. The waiter was friendly, chatty and made us feel very welcome. The food was delicious. A real hearty portion. Service was warm, welcoming and incredibly helpful throughout. Great recommendations on the menu and were very charming and understanding about changing my wife’s wine - not just offering to switch it, but also providing a quick taster of the alternatives as well. Great service.

Saturday 11th February 2023. This pub is very clean & the Drinks were Good to. The Gents Toilets very very clean, electric hand dryer which worked soap too. Toilet paper in sit down toilet. Rating 10 out of 10 😁👍🍺.

After being served with our main course, we were ignored. No one came to clear the dirty plates,or to see if we wanted anything else. The landlady(?) was sitting chatting to friends, and the bar staff was chatting at the bar. Eventually, at about two minutes after 8, I went to the bar to order deserts, only to be told that the kitchen was closed. Surely, we should have been asked if we wanted anything before the kitchen closed, but I was told it was my fault for nort asking earlier. Not happy. Very doubtful if I shall return.

Really friendly bar staff and a great selection of food. The beer tasted well kept and service was fast even though they were clearly busy. Generous portions, attentive staff, and great surroundings. Just a nice atmosphere all around.

Service was excellent and beer was good. Food was restricted due to problems with their butcher. Unfortunately we couldn't get a table in the room that has the fire and as a result we were freezing. Might visit again but, in the summer.

Gorgeous pub tucked away off the main road. Food here is amazing and the staff are so lovely. Try the Sunday lunch nut get there early as it gets busy. Also the homemade lasagne is to die for

Loved visiting hear the food was amazing . It was a really hot day when we was there so the pub was empty and there was only myself my husband and my mother in law in so didn't see if it had a good atmosphere. Would definitely return if we was in the area again.

Took the grand boys for a walk in New Mills then lunch in Disley , not cheap but good edible food in clean surroundings, good toilet facilities and a pleasant bar staff

First ever visit to this Robinsons pub on the old Buxton Road just off the very busy A6. Small outdoor seating area on the road. Nice interior. Two Robbies real ales on hand pump. Good pint of Unicorn. For 40 years or more the powers that be have talked of a by pass. Would transform Disley for the better. Flic likes his beer here. Z( little yellow fellow. ) nice toilets.
