Drinks & bites at 35 in Cheshire East

Busy coffee shop, friendly owners and the best coffee that we tasted all week. Stopped off after walking along the nearby canal. It was filled with regulars. Large menu available, food looked well presented, several people tucking into large breakfasts, whilst we had just coffee to keep us going.

Once again, outstanding coffee and cakes! This, coupled with the lovely welcome from the owners, means that there’s always a friendly buzz about the place. A must-visit!

Just what we needed. A small well run cafe offering a good range of food and drinks. The owners went out of their way to ensure that everyone had what they wanted. Definitely a place to return to.

The best breakfast i’ve ever had !! extremely generous portions and the fraction of the price of most places. definitely recommend!!!

Food is always great here . Everyone is caterer for vegetarian , gluten , lactose intollerant . Etc had the wonderful vegi bite for breakfast perfectly cooked by Gemma and served by Holly . Always a friendly atmosphere .

This is a wonderful little cafe on the main street of Middlewich. It definitely serves the best breakfast possibly in the whole of Cheshire ... if not beyond. Have eaten here a good neumber of times and it is always excellent. And the two ladies who run the place are lovely as well!

What a lovely place, staff are friendly and happy and the food was really lovely. Cater well for vegetarians and were happy to change a breakfast roll to a veggie one for me.

Lovely atmosphere in this delightful cafe. The staff were so welcoming. The hazelnut latte was the best ever. We didn’t eat but the menu looks really good as did the food . Would certainly recommend a visit if in the area.

Arriving mid-morning, I was able to sample the breakfast at this venue fo the first time, and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, and, as always, the staff are friendly, enthusiastic and efficient. Parking is often available in the street adjacent to the venue, or nearby at a large free car park. Highly recommended.

Been to number 35 a few times now, always a friendly welcome, the most amazing cakes and a fab cosy atmosphere to enjoy a coffee in! Very tasty veggie friendly food, definitely recommend a visit!

I was warmly welcomed on arrival, and perused the extensive menu. Being a little late for breakfast at 1310hrs, I chose a smoked salmon & cheese sandwich, with salad, that was absolutely delicious. I chose a glass of milk to drink. My meal was served very promptly. The staff members were both friendly and efficient, and I have no hesitation in recommending this venue. Parking in available nearby..

I was dissapointed when I visited we only ordered 2 latte and 2 bacon baps but we waited for half an hour and when it came the bacon was burnt

Well it has great reviews so we thought we'd give it a try. Excellent breakfast, lovely staff, great value. What's not to like? Tried the 'Protien Breakfast' - bacon, scrambled egg, halloumi, avocado ... wonderful

Really nice place. We had good americanos, a very nice snickers hot chocolate and top notch rocky road! Sad to not have been staying for lunch with a hugely varied and appealing menu! The only slight disappointment was no loo! But overall very friendly and nice place. Thank you!

I absolutely love this little place. Two fantastic lady owners always greet you with a smile and their food is spot on. Their cake is home made with love with new and exciting flavours most days. I cannot praise Gem and Holly enough.

Friendly,comfortable cafe. Seems to be the town’s hub during the day with friends meeting there. However for us we would like it to be dog friendly. Food is very good and the atmosphere is relaxing.

I popped in today for a quick lunch... chicken sandwich and a lovely fruity lemonade. I usually find it very difficult to feel comfortable when I am on my own but the two lovely owners made me feel very welcome. The chicken sandwich was gorgeous. They obviously have an eye for customer service as I've never felt more comfortable. I'll defo be back and recommending. Thank you.

Grabbed a quick coffee and snacks here while waiting to pick up a narrow boat rental. Service was great and the ladies who run the place were very friendly. Coffee was good, wish I had had time to try the sandwiches though!

I visited here with a friend who has ASD, the staff were very welcoming, friendly and patient. The food and drinks were fab. I would highly recommend the toasties. Great selection on the menu, can’t wait to return.

We don’t get to pop in very often but my son absolutely love the banana milkshakes and he loves the fact the lovely ladies remember every time! The cafe is clean, well organised and reasonably priced!

I was visiting Middlewich with my daughter and granddaughter today and had looked online for somewhere to grab a bite to eat. On seeing the owners answer to one of the previous reviews, I thought Yes This is where we'll go. Owners that take pride in their work and are not afraid to defend their business. Visit and you'll not be disappointed, the service was fantastic, friendly and helpful, nothing was any trouble from sorting out a high chair to a slight change in the menu. The Goats cheese ciabatta is one of the best I've enjoyed. These ladies take pride in their work and everyone in the place got the same friendly welcome from the elderly lady with her pot of tea, to the young mums having lunch with their children. Good varied menu, the food is excellent for a quick lunch. Will certainly visit again when in the area. And customers remember to smile.... Its infectious Thankyou girls x

We came here for some lunch between house viewings as we are looking to move to the area. A great menu with plenty of variety on offer and some amazing looking cakes! Well priced and delicious, we will be returning

We had lunch last Thursday. As we were on a low carb diet we wanted something that fit in with our new regime. Not only did we have a delicious no carb high protein lunch, but also a piece of sugar free cake ... delicious. Great place, ambiance perfect and smiley helpful owners Gemma and Holly!

Popped in for tea. Luckily at 3.30pm, as 15 minutes later they were turning people away, saying that they close at 4pm. What's happened to 4-o'clock tea in the UK these days? Rant over. The retro fruit cake is moist and delicious and they serve excellent coffee. Great place. (Make sure you read their story on the blackboard when you visit.) But get some skimmed milk in girls, for those of us that like a damage-limiting cappuccino.

I own this place with my wife. We work here almost every day & have done since 2013. We provide fantastic customer service as long as you can be a good customer! You’d be surprised how some folk don’t know how to behave out of the house but we have to suck it up otherwise we get s**t reviews. Anyway, rant over!!

Living in middlewich I don't often get the opportunity to visit the cafes open in the daytime. I have visited the cafe previously and it was very good then, with a good mix of customers visiting. I recently visited drinks and bites following their interior facelift, the new counter is more welcoming and gives a lovely warm feel to the place. The new menu offers a wide choice for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. I had a sausage bap, which was lovely and despite being busy, my friends and I didn't have to wait very long for our food. All in all a lovely late breakfast.

I came in this morning with my sister and my sons girlfriend and we spent a couple of hours in a warm and welcoming cafe with excellent food. Holly and Gemma were so engaging with all their customers and you felt that you had come into see old friends. Will definitely be going back!

Had a lovely lunch consisting of a festive panini with brie and a gingerbread latte. Would recommend and will go again. Friendly staff/owners

My partner and I have been visiting this little cafe now for the best part of a year, almost every Saturday.

I always try and support local businesses and have visited on three different occasions with a friends. On all occasions, I honestly didn't find the service friendly and certainly not a smile in sight. Having worked in the catering industry for many years, I understand how tiring running such a business of this nature can be and how rude many customers can be too, but a smile or a welcoming attitude cost nothing but effort is often the one thing a customer will remember!

We had breakfast here twice while staying at the (really dreadful) Golden Lion at the other end of the town.

Visited drinks and bites whilst passing through to the m6.Middlewich seemed a lovely place to stop with my 3year old as we had a long journey back to Hove.The food was good standard and the place very clean. The staff were friendly BUT any establishment where the lowest of the low language is used in ear shot of customers is a massive no go for me. Sorry.I joined trip advisor only to put my thoughts on here. My 3 year old asking me what c**t is sickens me. To add to the shock, the staff member saying it skipped behind the till looking very pleased with herself, slapping every backside in sight! I don't know if you have kids but I couldn't wait to get him out! He is used to eating out, as Brighton, where we live is amazing for all cultures and we meet people from all walks of life. The staffs' respect for us and me having such a little one, by far, let this place down. Never again. Behind closed doors guys if that's your chosen language but it's really not cool. Poor show left a some what a bitter taste, and that wasn't your coffee. Sorry for the poor review but I felt very strong about this.

We had a wedding in the afternoon in Congleton and wanted a bite to set us up knowing we would not be eating till later in the day. My daughter looked up this place and it was excellent. Friendly staff, very accommodating, with one person less able and a veggie daughter, it ticked all our boxes. Good variety of food and drinks, quickly served with a genuine friendly smile. Good value and reasonable prices. Well done. Would recommend.

Popped in whilst visiting the makers market. Very accommodating with food requirements, nothing is a hassle gluten free as well if you need it! Son had a toastie we opted for the club which was huge and husband had a panini with pulled pork and all sorts in it (forgot the name!). Owners very pleasant and talked to you but not over the top. Nice decoration can sit and watch the world go buy. Was busy with people coming in all the time but never felt as if we were being rushed. Well done will visit again

Welcoming and friendly atmosphere, great coffee, top notch chocolate cake, nearly started a fight with my daughter as she tried to steal mine (she's 4). Overwhelming urge to start colouring in the wall paper, would be a great way to keep kids busy while adults eat more cake.Gets our families seal of approval.

A cold Tuesday mid-morning morning in January, in Middlewich - it doesn't exactly promise warmth and a cheerful gathering of friends and neighbours; but that's exactly what I found at this gem of a place. Everyone knew everyone else, everyone was chatting, and everyone was a friend - even people like me who had just arrived from another place by bicycle, and was greeted like a regularThe service was just as warm and the food was piping hot - a toasted teacake of formidable deliciousness, accompanied by plenty of butter (hurrah!) and a coffee whose smoothness and taste put shame to those behemoths of the high street coffee world, whose bitter offerings are a poor thing compared to what's on offer here.Take time to visit; rest awhile; chat to the people on the next table; refresh and reaffirm your view that most folks are fundamentally decent and kind, and that the world is a good place. It's all waiting for you right here - and it's well worth a visit!

Lovely atmosphere, we are always welcomed and the owners are totally au-fait with how to cater for "difficult" customers like me, who is gluten intolerant. Sandwiches and melts can be modified to suit, the portions are generous and the coffee very good. It's quite a testament that family members pop in for tea and a cake when they are visiting; often without inviting us (maybe they are trying to tell us something)... A great place for a pause in shopping.

Came here for a quick break from studying. The staff are amazingly friendly, and nothing is too much for them. The coffee and cakes are equally brilliant, all homemade! The staff were happily chatting with the regulars which I thought was wonderful. I'll definitely be returning!

I've been here a few times this month for catch up with friends over lunch and tea. The ladies that work there are very lovely and welcoming! A nice selection of hot and cold lunch choices also, I recommend the Italian Chicken panini as it was stuffed with chicken, cheese and Pesto, fab quality and quantity for the price. The cakes are very delicious also.

Popped in yesterday morning. Had a lovely breakfast: salmon, scrambled eggs & cream cheese served with granary toast. Food was hot & tasty, excellent value for money Although more than enough on my plate. I did manage a slice of the bara brith which was delicious. good selection of specialty teas. Will definitly be going again.

My son came up to visit recently and so save cooking a full English Breakfast i thouht id try 35 in moddlewich about 10am on a weekdayThe atmosphere was friendly and busy...we found a nice table by the window and ordered the full english. The service was fast as the food was really well cooked amd very tasty. All the sauces were offered and there was a good range of soft and fizzy drinks available if you dont fancy tea or coffee. There were people of all ages in there and a couple of families too. Overall the food was both tasty and plentiful amd d recommend this to any hungry traveller passing through middelwich who wishes to dine in or take away.

We popped in on a Saturday morning whilst visiting the local market for a coffee and a cake. The coffee was excellent and the cakes are to die for, really good sized portions and so good I'm definitely coming back for more! The other half loved that there was more than one hot chocolate to choose from as doesn't drink coffee and especially loved the heap of marshmallows on top :) What really makes the place is special is the friendly service, the staff are lovely, smiley and really seem to care about good service, keep up the good work! We'll be back soon :)

Popped in today with a friend for a coffee/tea/snack about 10.30 a.m.Ordered a sausage in a barm plus a couple of drinks.I understand we all have to make a living, but the sausages were probably the cheapest and worse I have ever tasted. The barm cake wasn't much better. Really disappointed, especially at £2.70 for the food.But - - the worst thing? It's now 4.10 pm and my clothes and hair still stink of fried food. Revolting.Advice: Buy an extractor fan and stop being cheap with your products.

Popped into Middlewich for a look round the Christmas markets & stumbled upon this lovely, bustling café! The counter was laden with beautiful homemade cakes & treats & we were served as if we were friends. Nice, bright, clean well laid out space, good to have some comfy seating...just what we needed! These girls will go far with their cake skills & pleasant attitudes!

If you want coffee served by a spotty teen who has had 10 minutes training then don't come here!These girls know how to make coffee properly and you won't be asked for your name for them to write it on your cup! This is common sense eating and drinking with no poncey crap! Friendly, comfy and full of local charm. Service with a smile with nothing too much trouble. Line the pockets of locals rather than getting fat-cats richer! Prices are very reasonable, place is clean and rustic and the cakes are to die for. Try the slutty brownie if you can handle it! Will be back soon.

I won't lie, I'm a coffee addict and spend most of my time travelling up and down the country. I've been to most coffee shops / cafes of varying varieties. I have lived in Middlewich all of my life and up untill today have never been in Drinks & Bites at 35. Well what can I say, I regret not visiting earlier. Compared to your mainstream places e.g. Costa, Starbucks etc. Where u over pay for poor quality food and ok service. It was refreshing to see good food, reasonable price's, friendly staff and a social atmosphere which is missing so much now a days. Would highly recommend, we overheard a conversation about WiFi? I'll be honest it doesn't need it. The last thing this place needs is suits and laptops, which would kill the nice family atmosphere. So for quick, friendly service and relaxed lunch etc. Look no further. M

There was a good selection of breakfast stuff and sandwiches. Had a comfy sofa, service was ok but no wifi.

The staff are so friendly and welcoming, breakfast was fab, they made me a slightly smaller one at my request. Very clean place.

Called in for a coffee & Panini. I normally go to Costa but popped in here when I was in Middlewich. Have to say it was a cracking latte & the Brie & bacon panini was to die for! The staff were friendly & nothing was too much trouble. I would whole heartedly recommend this café

The food is lovely and nothing is too much trouble to make you feel welcome and so well catered for. We are regulars and never disappointed.

We live in the area and sometimes on the way home we like to pop in and have a coffee and sandwich before going home... It is a nice little place and staff is friendly but even though they advertise they are open until 16:00 it is really just coffees they serve after 15:00. I had three unlucky attempts to get a panini on one occasion around 15:40, when i have been told they do not serve food anymore, then on a different day at 15:30 and then a last try at just past 15;00.. Since i have been turned down one to many times i will not bother again.

Breakfast is a must. Very friendly staff. Busy place. Lots of variety to choose from for lunch. Beverages are excellent too.

The staff here are the real stars, every one of them the friendliest you could meet. They always remember your names and welcome you back. The food is always prepared freshly and served to your table when ready. Drinks are good, especially the lattes, cappachinos and chocolates.

I love this cafe in Middlewich, if we are going to nip out for lunch it's always where we will go. The customer service is top class, warm and friendly, always a very pleasant atmosphere. Chatty and friendly without being intrusive. Family friendly too, and considering I have 3 kids that's not always easy for a cafe to be, they have high chairs so feel the little ones are welcome. Good selection of high quality foods and drinks. They are always involved with community events too, and innovative in their ideas. Highly recommended.
