One word sums up our experience on Friday WOW!! The food was amazing and the hosts were so welcoming and creating such a friendly warm atmosphere in this old pub. They are working so hard to make is a success and deserve this excellent review. We can't wait to return - need to as the menu choice is so good that we plan to work our way through the excellent food.

We have driven past this pub countless times over the years. The main reason we went today was because we recently got a camper-van and had seen some favourable reviews. This is a perfect village pub that also delivers fantastic food. We had lasagna and steak and ale pie, the portions were generous and very tasty. Call in and enjoy yourself! Highly recommended

We have visited here several times for drinks /food since the pub had new ownership . The team /staff are all so welcoming and friendly and there is always a great atmosphere. We love the outdoor seating area too . The food is always so fresh and delicious with a fab menu including Tapas dishes. It’s a must if visiting the area and we recommend to book a table as it has always been busy every time we have visited .

Recommended by a friend as owners are friends of friends. Having been many times previously for drinks, they have a good sized beer garden, we thought we'd try the food. Friendly people, we ordered drinks and food with the landlord at the bar. Great choice of ale, Timothy Taylor's Landlord. Prices reasonable I thought. Fish Tacos was recommended and it was a fantastic dish. The fish goujons were perfectly cooked. The vegetarian dish, I can't see a menu online to remind me what my other half's choice was called, was also excellent. Her food came with homemade chips, always a treat these days. Sat in the sunshine, just a lovely evening.

We have been going to the Church House Inn for a few months now. We reserved a table this evening for 18:30 - on arrival at 17:30 I ordered a Large Sauvignon Blanc, it didn’t taste right so I took it back to the bar & ask for another one. The manager gave me another glass and I sat back down to enjoy my meal. We went to pay the bill and notice that we had been charged for two wines which I had given back one wine !!! When I questioned about the bill he told me I cannot re-sell the wine!! Disgusting attitude - from a manager!! Not that the management will be bothered about customer satisfaction, we will not return.

No body serving behind bar. I was one of a number of customers waiting to be served for over ten minutes before I decided to cut my losses and left to go to another pub for refreshment. Annoyingly, there was a lady taking food orders and the chef who were aware of the the situation at the bar but neither had the forethought to say anything like ‘sorry for the delay, someone will be with you soon!’

Visited recently with friends, their meals, lasagne and small gammon were fine apart from soggy chips. I asked for curry, choices were chicken korma or balti. I ordered korma . The very pleasant and efficient young man waiting on said there maybe only one portion of korma left, I said I'd have the balti if their was no korma, half chips, half rice. My curry, whatever it was, was terrible. It deftinitely wasn't korma, it didn't resemble a balti either. The chicken was cooked to death, grainy and dry. The chips and rice were very soggy. They charged £1.50 extra for half and half , why,? I assume it was for the chips as their was a lot of soggy rice. I told the waiter it wasn't very good, he apologised twice. Next mistake, horrible americano £3 ??????. The cheek of it. The landlady never acknowledged us, even to discuss the curry or apologise herself. I'm so annoyed, £11. 50 FOR A POOR IMITATION OF A CURRY +£1.50 HALF AND HALF AND £3 for a coffee. stick to well known favourites,

We went recently with friends and had a good evening. The beer and food choice are both excellent and portions not too huge. My only 2 comments, as I have mentioned before are the lack of space for the servers to serve food, as the chairs stick out too much and the side salad/veg just needs to be a bit bigger. They use big plates and it looks a bit sparse, an extra few slices of carrot wouldnt cost the earth and finish off a generally excellent meal. We managed a dessert, which are generally always on the 'winter' side of things, this time being sticky toffee pudding, a bit dense but very nice.Service is always pleasant and meals are reasonably priced. Will return !

Have been through most of menu now and particularly enjoy the chicken jalfrazi, pie of the day, both chillis and the roast dinner. Have taken lots of friends and relatives here and they have all enjoyed it.

Four of us had a very nice meal recently. The welcome and service was good, as was the choice of real ales. Both my wife and I had the cajun chicken which was lovely, though I would have preferred to have veg instead of salad. Meals are around a tenner and up.The one minor negative is the amount of room between the chairs, as its a bit tight to get around or for the servers to dish out the food.

Indifferent management is what stops this place from aspiring to be anything else other than average. Have eaten here on a number of occasions hoping things would get better but they do not. The Sunday roast (particularly the beef) is cooked to death which is very disappointing and begs the question why bother coming back? That said I am ever the optimist and hope Management will clue up and realise that catering to the lowest common denominator is not the way to go when it comes to food. Another tip: try being more welcoming. The bar staff are great but management seems to have a 'take it or leave it' approach to business which not really conducive to the hospitality business.

If you want good home-cooked food at a reasonable price this is the place for you. It is a traditional pub where a warm welcomes awaits. Service is friendly and prompt. I had the Steak, Guinness and Stilton pie which was excellent. Masses of steak and just the right amount of Stilton to make it interesting without being overpowering. My dining companion had the roast duck leg which was done perfectly with masses of crispy skin. The only slight downside was the chips which were a little on the soggy side, but the other vegetables were cooked very well. Definitely recommended.

Just come back from the most wonderful evening at the Church House! My wife booked a table for the family, and when we arrived the tables were set beautifully and they'd even put happy birthday banners up for me. The service was second to none, despite it being a busy Friday evening. And the food! We all ordered different meals; such as deep fried goats cheese drizzled with honey on a bed of salad from the specials board, their amazing steak and ale pie and chicken tikka masala. Every single dish was beautifully cooked and the house red wine was delicious and so reasonably priced. I can't recommend this place highly enough, everything about the evening was perfect. We used to regularly walk to Miola for a coffee and can’t believe how it has changed. Outside is a complete dump with tatty pieces of furniture up for sale at ridiculous prices . The elephant and giraffe which have been there for years are still for sale at a ridiculous price. Toilet was filthy with no toilet paper. Chose to sit outside as had children with us and tables were tatty and dirty. The food was overpriced and mediocre. Bacon sandwich with virtually no bacon. Peanut butter on toast which was slimy and greasy. Children took one look and didn’t touch it and can’t say I blamed them. It is so sad as Miola used to be such a lovely place to go to. Can only assume that with Holmes Chapel closing its on the cards that Sandbach will close as well. So disappointing and what a waste of money !
