Great food at good prices. Friendly staff. Matt and Kate looked after us really well.

I was here the other night and Matt was very welcoming and very helpful , definitely recommend and I will definitely be coming back!

We have Just had a lovely beef and pork Sunday dinners. Even though it was 5pm, where in some places it means the veg and roasts are dried out, the veg and roasts were all lovely. Plenty of veg and meat. Gravy came in its own pot which is also a plus as you can choose how much and where to have it. Service efficient and pleasant. Will be back. Keep the pork on the menu please!

Friendly welcome. NIce decor. Ordre taken promptly. Food served fresh and hot - excellent (so many places serve luke-warm!) Fish cakes and Arancinni to start were both delicious. Good fish and chips. Proper mushy peas and proper chips. Fish could have been a bit chunkier, but it was fine

What was excellent service is that we was called before our visit to advise on this. Excellent service!! We chose other food off the menu which was lovely. Really enjoyed our visit.

Mum and I took a chance on a last minute booking for Sunday Lunch last week. When we arrived we greeted by our waitress Olivia, she seated us took our drinks order and gave us plenty of time to peruse the menu. We chose from the Sunday Roast section. Mum has a garlic intolerance and Olivia showed and explained the menu app which explained which foods to avoid. I had the Beef and Mum had the Turkey option. When the meal was served it was hot and pleasing to the eye. The food was cooked beautifully and tasted amazing, we sent our compliment to the chef. We even had dessert and Apple and Cherry crumble which was gorgeous. Mum and I we very pleased that we had chosen The Crown at Goostrey and will definitely recommend it to all our friends and family.

A fab local that has tasty food, a great atmosphere with friendly and smiley staff. We were served by the lovely tristion who was attentive, well mannered and helpful when we had questions about the menue. We often come for either dinner or just drinks and everytime its a lovely experience.

Excellent Sunday lunch. Great food, including vegetarian, nice atmosphere and friendly service. Definitely need to come back soon.

This was an unplanned visit but we were very glad that we did. The food was really nice and there was a great choice on the menu, catering for all tastes. The kids menu was very good. The Crown was dog friendly too, so the whole family enjoyed it.

The food was good service was very good we were served by Tristian who was brilliant he his a credit to the Crown and we hope he is there for a long time.

We had a lovely birthday lunch, the staff were fabulous as was the food.

Lovely pub with a great atmosphere - I walk my dog here frequently and we are always greeted with fast and friendly service. Staff are always lovely and service is great even during especially busy periods. I cannot eat gluten and the gluten free/NGCI menu is extensive (pretty much all of the dishes off the regular menu can be made gluten free). I have eaten here lots of times and never had a reaction so I know they handle allergens carefully. A personal favourite is the gluten free burger!

A good lunch was had by a party of friends here. Was very quiet and we don’t know why it wasn’t busier. Quite near Jodrell Bank so you could combine this with a visit to the radio telescope etc.

Very friendly waitress, quick service for lunch, food same-old-same-old fried type bar food (not bad, just nothing special). A nice break for lunch and close to the Lowell Telescope :)

We have been going to the crown for 45 years and seen many landlords running an excellent pub! When the weather is nice we like to sit outside and always have a tab We were in there Saturday and had a tab and had our drinks outside We went again on Sunday and was told we had to pay for our drinks by the NEW member of staff What changed overnight! Perhaps the member of staff needs to think about customer service!!!! This guy doesn’t know what customer service is and I believe he’s in the wrong trade

We visited as part of a large group. The food and service was very good; this was not easy as the group arrived at two different times and each couple paid their own bills. The staff coped well and we enjoyed a nice lunch.

I booked a table for 2 at 2pm, we were waiting by the wait to be seated sign for 15 mins before anyone came. We ordered food and drinks immediately as we had seen the menu. After 30 mins we managed to find out why we didn‘t have drinks. Our choice was not available, no one came to tell us or see what else we wanted. My friend selected cloudy lemonade, it was neither lemon flavoured or fizzy. We ordered roast dinner and had to wait over 90 mins for this to arrive. Some of the beef was great some pieces tough as shoe leather. The potatoes were tough and cold, the gravy was cold, the Yorkshire pudding so tough it was inedible, and the green beans and mange tout undercooked. The carrot (singular carrot) was very nice. They definitely need to hire some staff, the place seems to be run by two sweet boys who look like they still have a bed time.

First time we have visited the Crown Inn and we’ll definitely go back. The restaurant had a nice welcoming feel. Our waitress was Kate and she was lovely, polite and made some great recommendations. The food was really tasty. We had Camembert for starters to share, chicken & chorizo kebab (would highly recommend) and lasagna. For dessert we shared the caramel sundae which was yummy!

Me and my wife came into the pub today and had a lovely roast dinner. We had great service from the young servers “Kate” and “Matt” as the little card they handed us said. Would recommend, definitely coming again.

It was my husband's birthday and we got to the Crown before 6.45 on the 8th of May, ordered 2 drinks at the bar and asked the waitress to put them on our tab as we were eating. "Have you booked "was the reply. We said we had not to be told we therefore could not eat as the chef was leaving at 8pm. The restaurant was not even buzy! We have been living in the village for 36 years and have had several big wedding anniversaries at the pub but to be told we could not have a meal at our local was a first. The Space Invader was a gift on that special night!

We have been coming to The Crown for a number of years and the food has always been top quality, however I think they should have some normal food on the menu like they used too, on this occasion we had a chicken fillet burger and it was very tasty.

even with a slight issue with one of our meals we were treated promptly and courteously and the matter was resolved. The pub was busy and a shortage of staff was evident, howecer, what staff there was worked extyremely hard to make outselves and all oyther custmeners very welcome. The management team are new to the pub and are experiencing the usual teething problems and handling them well. Given time and maturity they will succeed and this will be a pud worth travelling to.

Terribly understaffed in all "outside" areas. Very disappointing. Food was ok, but food service and drinks service was almost non-existent. We had to get our own drinks after waiting 30 minutes, and we didn't get any feedback from the serving staff or asked if we wanted sweet. Our bill arrived quickly. Staffing levels need addressing urgently or will go downhill !

Food was fantastic. Downsides were every time we needed something we had chase a waiter up and ask I ordered a drink as food arrived I was nearly finished my meal and still hadn’t arrived asked another member of staff for it when he brought it over I said just check not made two he then took the drink away thinking I meant that was the second. He then brought it back. Bill was reasonable. However when got outside we had paid for an extra drink. Food was fantastic so would come back

Our first visit after a long Dog walk, 4 adult hoomans and 2 Furr-babies. Excellent welcome by friendly Staff. Dog bowls, Dog treats and menus brought to table whilst we decided. Food choice very good. Food was excellent, service was excellent, whole experience was excellent, a pity we had to go. A proper, old-fashioned pub, unspoilt by over modernisation. We will visit again soon. Thankyou to all the Staff at the Crown Inn.

Warm welcome from friendly staff. Food was actually better than 4 stars and very tasty - it was let down at the end by a poor black coffee that lacked strength or flavour. (Get fresh beans!). I did enjoy the food though.

Came for lunch last Sunday with my family. Service was quick and food was amazing! We had the roast which was very tasty and the kids loved their sausage and mash. Will be coming back soon.

We enjoyed our leisurely late lunch at the Crown - tasty food, good drink selection and prompt service. I had the best vegetarian meal I've ever eaten in a pub 😋 My main course was the cheese, leek and potato pie, with mash, mangetout, carrots, green beans and peas. The gravy was good too! Being in the afternoon, the pub was fairly quiet, but we like it that way 😁 We'll definitely be back.

Took my parents and 4 yr old for lunch on a Saturday. Host was enthusiastic, service was prompt. Nice warm plates and really lovely mains. Parents had sausage&mash and the gammon whereas I had the pan roasted chicken special which was, as suggested by the host, really tasty. Kids meal was pretty standard fayre but a clean plate is a winner. Don’t get home to Goostrey as often as I’d like but good to know the local is still punching for a good honest food.

As a regular, visiting twice a week for a pint, I had not used the restaurant for over a year until last Sunday due to a poor experience. As it was Mothering Sunday it was very busy but the service was very efficient and mainly provided by young people who were friendly and regularly checking your needs..In the background I noted that the Manager was unobtrusively keeping an eye on things, but did not need to get involved. Food was good and in summary would say it was a significant improvement on our last visit. on everything,

We had a buffet for 70 people and there was plenty of food so much that people took home boxes of sandwiches, the bar staff were very efficient and courteous the overall experience was first class.

Service as always great but menu choices limited as often some off menu (would come on a Sunday but can only come late afternoon and Sunday roasts tend to run out before then) Have also visited since 29th but only for a drink Looking fwd to a change in the nenu. Shane only session beers and no Marstons Pedigree

The Crown provides a comfortable, traditional setting for an excellent meal. The service was well timed and the server friendly and helpful. The tables are spaced so you are not crowded in and you can chat easily. Everything was clean. It was a very enjoyable meal and great value for money.

Visited for the first time in very long time since the new owners have taken over. Served by Ann Marie, she was very pleasant and helpful. It was very quiet but nevertheless the atmosphere was nice ,also had the fires on which was nice on this cold day.food was tasty and hot and would definitely be returning.

Not up to usual standard - seemed to be suffering from post-Christmas blues. Quite down-beat - very few customers - staff a little desolate? Very different from this time last year when their offers were in full swing and bringing in the customers. Let's hope for better times ahead - we will be back!

Second review of here so it must be good. Popped in for a a Sunday lunch had the trio of meats which was lovely and huge portion. Lovely Al dente veg and fluffy roast potatoes yummy. Great girls that was serving Kate Anne Marie and Hope looked after me really well

Just had Christmas Dinner, great place, lovely atmosphere and the food was very nice. Would have preferred vegetables to have been served separately as last year. Although the food was delicious some of the party eat bigger meals than others and would have been nice to have served the vegetables between us. Would we visit again for Christmas Dinner? Yes if it went back to serve your own vegetables.

Very friendly welcome, choice of tables either in the bar or restaurant area. Good real ales on offer. Not too extensive a menu, we opted for steak and fish and chips. Steak arrived as ordered and was reported to be tasty. Fish had light batter, plenty of firm white flesh, accompanied by mushy peas and tartare sauce. The fish was a very good portion whilst the chips etc did not overwhelm. Having got room for desserts, we enjoyed crumble and a brownie sundae. All in all, very enjoyable with pleasant and unobtrusive service. Will be visiting again.

Went for a cosy anniversary evening meal - just the two of us- and both the food and the service was exemplary! Delightful personal service throughout by Lara who was professional with great warmth and empathy. The food was excellent and served in good time between ordering and arrival at table. Absolutely faultless! Well done and thank you. We have made another reservation for December.
