I hadn't been feeling too brilliant lately after being attacked a few days ago. So, I walked across to my local Bangladeshi restaurant, Kingfishr. I fancied something different and didn't want the usual rice and naan curry meal. I had previously had the grilled salmon starter, and it was delicious. The waiter recommended the tandoori salmon the next time I came in, and tonight, I decided to take his advice. It was good advice. The salmon was perfectly cooked and delicious. To accompany the meal, anyone who knows me knows I like a bit of spice, so I requested a phall sauce, no whistles or bells, just a hot sauce to dip my portion of perfectly cooked fries in. Sometimes, simple pleasures are the best 👌

I rang up to book a table as we were a group of 8 cyclists. The table was ready when we arrived and we were given a friendly warm welcome and our orders taken immediately. Service was speedy and food excellent, I had a tasty pea soup with a warm fresh cheese scone. One of the guys had an enormous plate of beans on thick toast. There was a good selection of cakes and I shared a yummy Date & Oat flapjack. It feels more spacious since the refurb and I noticed plenty of seating outside. They are open 7 days a week and we will definitely be visiting again.

I like this place for the odd buy - like to get something that I wouldn't find elsewhere- but just for that really. I also like it's cosy atmosphere and the fact that there are some rare items. I also particularly like the options at the bakery and the different breads available. The focaccia is really nice and we have bought it two times so far. Some of the salads are nice as well, like the tabbouleh and the butternut squash one. Things I think need improvement: . Some prices are shockingly high- like ice cream is £8 ish for a tub. A bottle of orange juice is also nearly £6, 2 chicken tikka skewers are £12, £12 for a practically mini new york cheesecake. Anyway, as you can see some of the prices don't make sense. . The bakery section is the only place really that has affordable options. The prices in this section are average, like £2.50 for a cupcake, and £3.50 for a chocolate tiffin, is expected nowadays. . I think since this is the farm and they produce some of their own products, they should also be selling their own ice cream, milk, eggs, like many other farms (As I could see another farm's branding on the ice cream tub). We came here for the cafe as well, but unfortunately it's been closed. We were told it will open in 2026. The plan for the new place seems cool though. The customer service was good both times we visited too. All in all, I will be back here for the occasional buy, but I think unless you have a million pounds, you need to pick and choose what you buy so it doesn't add up to £200. I do like to support independent businesses though to where I can, so I am giving this place four stars. I do feel like there is still, regardless, not many places like here in Wilmslow and it is quite unique.
