Delicious food, well presented Lovely staff and good service However - Given 4* - uncomfortable dining - The temperature in the dining room was cold ( despite wearing winter clothing ) The radiator nearby wasn’t throwing out any heat and the portable one provided was ineffective. If the room heating was working it would have been a perfect dining experience !

I've been to The Davenport Arms a number of times over the last few years. Despite lots of competition in the area, it was the treat I went for when I didn't mind paying a bit extra for slightly better quality. However, my last two visits in the last two months have been disappointing. The prices remain some of the highest in the area, but the food is now a minefield of hit and miss. The menu changed, removing some of my favourites - and limiting the vegetarian options I enjoyed - but also massively shrinking the portions. The food was a drop in quality, noticeably. We've been back since and the food was better, but I fear it will never be the quality it once was, so unlikely to return again anytime soon. What I will say though, is that the service is consistently friendly and great. I wouldn't have returned for the best food in the world if that wasn't so - so well done to the team.

This is a true gem of a restaurant. The atmosphere was so special being homely but vibrant. The service was amazing and of a level not often seen these days. The food was stunning and each course so good. Thank you to the team for a very special evening.

Our daughter is going to Barbados tomorrow so we came here for breakfast in order to take temporary custody of Patsy, the labradoodle. We were on a tight schedule and arrived as the doors opened at 09:30. We had booked a table and told the staff of our needs and were provided with an out of the way table and quickly asked for our order. Breakfast duly arrived and everything was perfectly cooked. It was delicious. What a fantastic experience. We will be back.

Extremely disappointing experience at this pub on Saturday 1st June. Having booked for 4 people 2 weeks previous to tie in with our visit to the Clonter Opera we were really looking forward to it. However on the evening we were greeted with a sheet menu with very little choice. Apparently they were closing on the Sunday for building work and that’s why the menu was spartan. Well we just had one dreary course which was not particularly special. Two of us had 2 starters as the mains were so limited there was nothing they liked. It was too late to go elsewhere. The owner should really have telephoned us a week before and explained the situation giving us time to book elsewhere. Very poor.

Great country eating pub & coffee shop...Hosts Pete & Kerry offer a great selection of quality home cooked food from thier house chef Gary. The Steak pie, mash & veg was excellent as was the roast pork & stuffing sandwich with frys. Food is definitely better when the resident chef is on otherwise very average. But I must confirm that if the proper chef is on you are in for a good meal. Large car park & very easy access into the bar & food areas. The pub is nicely decorated with real fires. The bar itself has comfy seating and a good drinks selection & real ales. Pete & Kerry are pleasant & friendly. The pub is DOG FRIENDLY!!! Well situated in a rural setting and close to neighbouring towns & markets. Excellent, well worth a visit. Very clean & smart place. Great outside for sunny days. GL aka GS

I ordered Staffordshire oatcakes with cheese some home made salad and cowlslaw, I got two oat cakes with a chunk of cheese in middle. Advertise what your going to give. very disappointing not worth the money . could of made that myself in 2 minutes. the sausages in English breakfast are pathetic and you get a tea spoon full of beans, have to make some more just to go with it. really disappointing all over. £33 down the drain.
