The best restaurants in Gawsworth Cheshire East North West

As my daughters and I travel around this part of Cheshire looking for the venues which serve up the best Full English Breakfasts, we have found another place to add to our list. We both had the Old Barn Breakfast and it was delicious from the first bite to the last. I washed down my food with a pot of tea drunk from a large tea cup. Excellent. Service was prompt and polite. Plenty of parking space outside. A small step needs to be climbed to get into the building. I shall definitely be returning to The Old Barn, Marton sometime soon. Well done everyone. I made a second visit with my other daughter. I had the breakfast again. Still delicious. My daughter opted for the Steak sandwich with a peppercorn sauce and a portion chips. Again the food was first class. As an aside, the place was full when we arrived. However they very kindly split up a setting for four so we could sit down. Excellent customer service. Well done everybody. So today’s visit was judgement day for me and my two daughters who continue to search for the best Full English Breakfast in the area. We all opted for variations on the Old Barn Breakfast with additional hash browns. It will come as no surprise when I tell you that the breakfasts were excellent. This is testament to The Old Barn maintaining their high standards of food and service. The Old Barn has achieved the highest score of any venue we have visited so far. Well done everyone. Magnificent.

Really nice place to visit, food was excellent and a good range of drink. Well worth a visit to this market town in Cheshire.

Great always enjoy doing The Mummers play there

I've been to The Davenport Arms a number of times over the last few years. Despite lots of competition in the area, it was the treat I went for when I didn't mind paying a bit extra for slightly better quality. However, my last two visits in the last two months have been disappointing. The prices remain some of the highest in the area, but the food is now a minefield of hit and miss. The menu changed, removing some of my favourites - and limiting the vegetarian options I enjoyed - but also massively shrinking the portions. The food was a drop in quality, noticeably. We've been back since and the food was better, but I fear it will never be the quality it once was, so unlikely to return again anytime soon. What I will say though, is that the service is consistently friendly and great. I wouldn't have returned for the best food in the world if that wasn't so - so well done to the team.

I ordered steak and ale pie the pie was only just warm. The only down fall was there was mushrooms in it which wasn't mentioned on the menue which I found out of order because if it was given to someone that is allergic to mushrooms you could have caused them problems.

Called in a couple of times now as the Sunday roast is the best around, great quality. The host Matt is a credit to the place, will be back for the food and the wonderful service.

Our daughter is going to Barbados tomorrow so we came here for breakfast in order to take temporary custody of Patsy, the labradoodle. We were on a tight schedule and arrived as the doors opened at 09:30. We had booked a table and told the staff of our needs and were provided with an out of the way table and quickly asked for our order. Breakfast duly arrived and everything was perfectly cooked. It was delicious. What a fantastic experience. We will be back.

Extremely disappointing experience at this pub on Saturday 1st June. Having booked for 4 people 2 weeks previous to tie in with our visit to the Clonter Opera we were really looking forward to it. However on the evening we were greeted with a sheet menu with very little choice. Apparently they were closing on the Sunday for building work and that’s why the menu was spartan. Well we just had one dreary course which was not particularly special. Two of us had 2 starters as the mains were so limited there was nothing they liked. It was too late to go elsewhere. The owner should really have telephoned us a week before and explained the situation giving us time to book elsewhere. Very poor.

Nothing was too much trouble for her, and she truly enhanced our dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend The Davenport Arms for anyone looking to enjoy beautifully crafted food in a lovely, clean setting. I can't wait to return!
