The tasting menu was an amazing meal for the price. The food felt "like home", classically French without the fuss and the service was impeccable and warm.

Visited here yesterday with my husband for a lovely Sunday roast. We had the Sunday sharer which was absolutely delicious we were served by the wonderful Josh c who was very helpful and polite. Will definitely be returning 10/10😊

Visited midweek, sat in the orangery ….which is a beautiful room. The service was spot on … very efficient and friendly. Food was lovely , tasty and hot . Would highly recommend

We received a wonderful warm welcome,, The service was excellent nothing was too much trouble, The food was excellent, we were a party of 10 so it is not easy to serve everyone at the same time. However our food was brought out quickly and piping hot, Lovely food and desert. Highly recommend.

Lovely Pub, but the food portion sizes are very small for the price. Ordered a loaded fries that came with very little meat on them and the chips were barely a portion. Has potential to improve and I hope it does.

My husband and I absolutely love La Popote , the staff and the owners are so friendly nothing is too much trouble and the service is always first class never slow just perfect , they allow you the time to finish each course . Another wonderful evening love the new menu , great choice as always . Beautifully presented , so tasty and a nice couple of bottles of red wine to go perfectly with our meal . A few previous reviews mention surcharges it is quite clear to see if you decide to choose scallops for instance yes you pay a little more but so worth it for a superb meal. Thank you to Liam for being so fabulous as always .

I ordered steak and ale pie the pie was only just warm. The only down fall was there was mushrooms in it which wasn't mentioned on the menue which I found out of order because if it was given to someone that is allergic to mushrooms you could have caused them problems.

Called in a couple of times now as the Sunday roast is the best around, great quality. The host Matt is a credit to the place, will be back for the food and the wonderful service.

Our daughter is going to Barbados tomorrow so we came here for breakfast in order to take temporary custody of Patsy, the labradoodle. We were on a tight schedule and arrived as the doors opened at 09:30. We had booked a table and told the staff of our needs and were provided with an out of the way table and quickly asked for our order. Breakfast duly arrived and everything was perfectly cooked. It was delicious. What a fantastic experience. We will be back.

We stopped by here for lunch today. we didn't stay in the rooms but if the rooms however if the space in the restaurant was anything to go by the place was immaculate. Clean. Tidy. Dust free. A warm welcome from our host who saw us too a table and continued to look after us all afternoon. A lovely outing. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the vegan sweet chilli stir-fry and it was phenomenal. Thanks so much.

Wow, what a find..Amazing food and locally sourced..100% recommended

Extremely disappointing experience at this pub on Saturday 1st June. Having booked for 4 people 2 weeks previous to tie in with our visit to the Clonter Opera we were really looking forward to it. However on the evening we were greeted with a sheet menu with very little choice. Apparently they were closing on the Sunday for building work and that’s why the menu was spartan. Well we just had one dreary course which was not particularly special. Two of us had 2 starters as the mains were so limited there was nothing they liked. It was too late to go elsewhere. The owner should really have telephoned us a week before and explained the situation giving us time to book elsewhere. Very poor.

Friendly, warm welcome and hearty food in a cosy environment. Only one negative, what looks to be an abandoned serial killer's van in the car park which does the place no favours at all.
