Extremely disappointing experience at this pub on Saturday 1st June. Having booked for 4 people 2 weeks previous to tie in with our visit to the Clonter Opera we were really looking forward to it. However on the evening we were greeted with a sheet menu with very little choice. Apparently they were closing on the Sunday for building work and that’s why the menu was spartan. Well we just had one dreary course which was not particularly special. Two of us had 2 starters as the mains were so limited there was nothing they liked. It was too late to go elsewhere. The owner should really have telephoned us a week before and explained the situation giving us time to book elsewhere. Very poor.

After visiting the pub for a few years when we stay in the area, we were looking forward to returning with our friends and dogs. However, today we barely got through the door when we were greeted by a male saying we wouldn’t be able to come in and would have to sit outside! Now we appreciate the pub is going through refurbishment, as we visited recently and were warmly welcomed. There was 2 of us and a dog then. The pub was virtually empty today. This time there were 4 adults and 2 dogs each…….very well behaved dogs that we always take there!!! The guy was extremely abrupt and lacked any customer service skills. No apology. It was a cold day so walked to a nearby pub, another favourite, The Red Lion and had a wonderful welcoming reception! We spoke to a few locals who confirmed that the customer service is very poor and even met a couple who went last night with 2 dogs and made to feel uncomfortable, so they left after one drink. Come on guys, brush up on your “customer “ skills and make people feel welcome!!

Been here several times over the past few years going back to when it was the Black Swan. Food is excellent and freshly cooked with a good choice to suit varied tastes. The specials offer a slightly different twist which makes them more appealing. The Host and staff are excellent.Very attentive. The pub is slightly off the beaten track but well worth the effort whether at lunchtime or the early part of the evening. You need to book a table for 7.30pm latest as the kitchen closes at 8.00pm.I think this could put some people off as 8.00pm is a popular time to book a table.

We were staying in a nearby glamping pod and found this pub within walking distance, and happily it is dog friendly. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and could not do enough for us. The food was excellent and very tasty. The ale was really good also. We returned to this pub multiple times during our trip and would not hesitate to recommend it. We will also return again in future when we go glamping again. Thank you!

There no doubt that this is a nice pub with a very nice welcome ……….. however the ale is not quite too my taste and the food is overpriced . Sorry but you can’t charge 15 or 16 quid for a pie and then charge 5 pounds for chips …… it’s not British to do so. In summary this place is quite empty on a Saturday night and there has to be a reason.

Finally revisited after a long time & ordered my usual meatballs & my friend had a halloumi baguette. They take card payments now, which they didn't use to pre-pandemic & the waiter was a tad snarky when we asked if they did. Food was served quickly & freshly-made. The meatballs could do with more seasoning & the side salad wasn't the best, but the chips were nice, hot & crisp. Overall, Konak hasn't changed much. It's still a popular place for lunch.

Good selection on menu, food very tasty and plenty of it and reasonably priced, service was just right not rushed. All the waiters very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Restaurant isn't huge so it got very busy, it would be a good idea to book a table so as not to be disappointed.
