Don’t bother, currently being persued for a £170 parking fine for parking in their car park. It’s a racket, complete con. Their sign is stuck to a flower bed at ground level.

We have been here before and had an enjoyable meal but sadly this wasn’t the case on this occasion. We went early evening on a Tuesday so it was understandably quiet with only two other tables occupied The starter was nice enough we had the sucuk and halloumi We ordered spaghetti bolognese and a lasagne and a garlic bread for mains The spaghetti bolognese was a plate of congealed, overcooked pasta and what looked like a whole jar of passata dumped over some cooked mince. It tasted of nothing but tomato’s and was nothing like a traditional ragu. The lasagne was boiling hot on the outside and lukewarm in the middle, obviously microwaved, with the same tomato tasting mince and some very watery sauce, served with some greasy undercooked chips. In fairness the garlic bread was lovely but overall a very disappointing meal. After sitting for over 15 minutes, in an empty restaurant, waiting for our plates to be cleared we eventually got up and went to pay If you’re looking for a traditional Italian with classic Italian food done well, then I’d look somewhere else

What a brilliant hidden gem with a fantastic menu and lovely team. It was quiet when we went but booking is advised as it gets busy especially in the summer with the canal boats. Will be back again

This is a rare gem of a spot. Very nice food from an extensive menu and great service. We came here to celebrate our daughters birthday and had a great time. Tucked away, but it's definitely worth finding.

It’s like the food is frozen. The pizza is undercooked. They don’t serve what’s described on the menu. Sauce tastes like it’s from tesco, mixed frozen seafood bag, risotto and pasta over cooked. Mussel shell in food and then 2/3 mussels closed.

Lovely food and great value for money.

A friend hired the venue for a private party. The food was described as an itailian buffet. I serve tastier pasta and pizza dishes at my house so I must also be itailian 🤷🏾‍♀️. On top of the bland 'itailian' food they have the audacity to hand out parking tickets.

We went for dinner. Great offers on. Had starters and main course. All very good. Everything was hot and not cold. It has a cracking location by the canal

We popped into Barchetta this Evening for my Bro in Laws 60th, I went in to book a Table (Short Notice) they were very busy, but they Managed to accommodate us ( table for 4) we Met a Wonderful Team of young Ladies who were Polite, Friendly and very Attentive, They were Lola, Esme Beckie. Very young BUT very professional. The Food was Beautiful, Fresh, Hot very Good Quality. But I do believe the Team made it a Most Enjoyable Evening. So I'd like to Say to The Owner and his Beautiful Wife.. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for making us Feel Most Welcome. Cracking Team of Friendly young People . WE SHALL BE BACK

Visited on a Sunday evening. Warm welcome. One of our party (of two) is a coeliac. Always a challenge with Italian restaurants. But, they absolutely catered and understood the dietary needs. As they were busy, we ordered some olives and bread to start. Without asking, they catered bringing a gluten free roll. Nice touch - if I was going to be pedantic, the olive oil and balsamic dip should have been served in two bowls. But it was very impressive. Mains arrived and both meals were excellent. Dishes were served with hand cooked chips and both options were really well cooked. Not greasy, just flavoursome and tasty! Desserts - we opted to share a gluten free (vegan) cheesecake. It was very nice. Overall, really impressed. Service was also good. Would recommend and would return.

We stopped by for lunch today and it was a top notch experience as usual! Great service, cold beer, amazing pastas and all at very reasonable prices. I have tried and failed many times at making a seafood pasta sauce that yummy, so hats off to the chef. It’s a gem of a restaurant and we will no doubt be back soon.

Went for lunch with family. Very disappointing as it used to be a very nice restaurant. Ceasar salad very small for the price & over loaded with salad dressing which spoilt the dish. Bolognaise awful....my mum left most of it. Risotto average. Kids pizza was fine. Service ok. Sorry but we are unlikely to be visiting again.

One of my favourites in sandbach, super relaxed, staff friendly and welcoming! (Lily is brilliant!) Food and atmosphere are good! Seating is comfortable and well placed, so you dont feel like you're sitting with the next table! Not sure there's much left on the menu we haven't tried, so choosing a favourite to glow up is tough! A definite must for a relaxing evening either with or without the family

We visited The Barchetta Restaurant on a Wednesday and even though at first (1700) we were the only ones in however within half an hour it began to fill up. The service was excellent very friendly and helpful staff. The venue has a lovely relaxing feel. There were children in and they were made to fell welcome. Don't know about pets as there weren't any in. The food was served piping hot and of a good size and arrived in good time. Drinks are also responsible priced for a restaurant. NOTE; Car parking is good but is privately owned, so be sure to make a note of your registration number to let the staff know as it is FREE TO CUSTOMER'S.

First visit to the restaurant and we will definitely return for the evening again. The food is excellent and very nicely served. The prices are very reasonable and we had a good time. Would recommend this place to try.

Considering it's a short walk up the canal for us, from Malkins Bank, it's somewhere we should come more often. This is the second time we've come for dinner. It wasn't really busy at all when we arrived and the staff were really attentive. When we left it got busier with a big reserved table, but the noise wasn't excessive. We paid up after feeling more than full after a starter and main (excellent portions), then had two espresso martinis out on the front tables. We had a really friendly, pleasant and polite waitress who had said hello before we had even got through the door! This is really a Sandbach gem worth visiting. We'll be back soon again we hope!

Food was ok. Pizza wasn't great can make better base at home with normal oven. Food wasn't terrible.... Wasn't great either. Can't recommend as their are so many other places doing better for for the price. Service was good staff were very friendly, Shame the food isn't quite up to it.

We held a 30th birthday party in the function room upstairs and had a buffet. It was delicious and such good fun! Highly recommend and will be returning for date night soon.

The food here is great, this is not a review about the food. However the outside space, sitting next to the canal could be so much better. But it is a little drab and uninviting. strip lighting, dark beams of wood hemming you in - you really don't feel like spending long outside

After a dog walk along the canal I stopped for a coffee at this lovely local gem. I arrived just as it opened an the coffee machine took a while to warm up. It was heaven. No phone signal, no laundry, no dishes, no teenagers. As the coffee took 30mins to arrive they gave it me for free. But to me it was a priceless half hour of calm!!

It is not often we write negative reviews, and the restaurant manages to sort out our perceived issue with the food. This restaurant has, for many years, been one of our favourites. We dine here every time we are in the area. The setting and the decor are excellent. The staff friendly and polite. The prices are modest. Sadly the food was not good. We ordered two main courses which arrived very quickly indeed which suggested just a reheat. The portions were on the generous side, but the quality was poor. Coffee to finish was very good indeed. The restaurant was almost empty which suggests a recurring problem. We do hope they sort it out and it once again becomes one of our favourite restaurants.

I agree with a previous contributor that the environment is Italian but the food seems more rustic than normal. The seafood pasta was served with spaghetti not linguine but I did ask before ordering and still went with it but they did not allow an alternative; most peculiar for an authentic Italian? The calves liver was presented in a bowl in large chunks rather than sliced thinly with herbs; we ordered two but only one left on a Sunday evening? Again, unexpected and the portion provided was immense! Sea Bass was ok, fresh and well cooked; the veggie calzone came on its own with a dollop of tomato sauce on top. No effort made to make it look worth eating either. We ordered house Red; fine. When we ordered another bottle there was no more available? House Red surely not? So all-in-all we had an enjoyable time here but certainly not up to normal Italian standards and some attention to detail is needed when presenting the food. We have been here twice before and the food this time was not as good as in the past but, having said all of that, we would still return just in case they were having staffing problems this time around.

Very, very good, indeed. Well prepared and cooked food. Very helpful staff. The only thing was that the portion sizes were way too big: ask for a child portion!

Liked the retro booth seating and couldn't fault the food, portion sizes or speed of service. However, it could do with a bit of tlc as quite dusty and cobwebby and floor grubby. Also, I can't imagine that the music choice would be to many peoples taste as it was slow, piano jazz stuff. It wouldn't take much to bring it up to scratch as the old building, quirky seating and enviable canal side position are all big plus points. Would suggest that the parmesan is added to the meals at the table (as is usual) as being done so in the kitchen resulted in it being put onto the wrong meals.

Homey restaurant with comfort food! Although we were a big group of 10, service was brisk and we received our food quite quickly upon ordering. The vegetarian risotto I had was delightful and portion was hefty! A nice place for a group of friends or family.

My new fiance & I turned off the motorway, looking to find a nice little place to have something to eat. After a long drive back from a family get together down South, we finally found a place.... we found Barchetta Restaurant. A lovely, idyllic place by a canal to recharge our batteries ready for the final leg of our journey home. We had noticed people were sitting outside on benches over looking the canal. How perfect we thought, finally able to dine alone after breaking the big news,so we parked up & looked for the entrance. When we finally found the entrance after some detective work the doors were closed with no opening times in view, so our romantic little pits stop was halted. For the 7 minutes from when we parked up, found the entrance, drove off disappointed & on our way hungry.... We have only received a £100 parking fine and an unhelpful, bullying and quite frankly a scaremongering company demanding money from us! We have appealed to no avail. Many letters of a harassing nature & court threats have been received so off to court we go. I suggest you never visit this restaurant because if it is closed you will end up paying for an unwelcome starter 🍽️😤😡

Wonderful food,love italian and I've always had a delicious meal at Barchetta. I can never eat 3 courses but they are always obliging and I can take away for the next day. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, nothing is to much to ensure your evening out is just what you want. Perfect
