Visited Sasso for the first time as we were visiting friends that live near by, food was fabulous, presented beautifully and tasted as good. Exceptionally friendly staff, great banter about Manchester football teams, especially the lovely young man from Moston 🤪 Beautiful decor and a great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend Sasso and hope to see you again soon 😘

My first visit here but my partners second. Absolutely loved it. Service was exceptional so a huge thanks to Erion who looked after us both and was the perfect waiter. He had great recommendations,(the Tiramisu was divine), great confidence and personality. Hes a credit to the team here and a perfect reason to come back just for his exceptional service. We shared the Spinach Tortellini, Lasagne, Garlic Bread with Mozzarella and Olives for our meal. Every dish was delicious. We will 100% be back.

I prefer San Carlos. The service was not as it used to be at the original Sassos. It’s lost the personal touch . The young waiter who served us was almost robotic and kept pressing us to order. Watch with the wine if buying by the glass! 2 prices on the menu. Unless you specify what size you want it’s an automatic upsell to large. When challenged as to why the staff don’t check the size the response was everyone drinks large round here, it’s up to you to specify. The attitude left rather a bad taste. In summary. Very expensive for what’s a just above borderline average restaurant with a “chain restaurant” approach to service. It definitely has no personal touch.

If you want an average, very expensive meal, served by brusque waiters then go there. Otherwise don't bother! Very disappointed with the meal and the service.

Wow. This place has seriously gone down hill since I’ve lived in the village. The food was atrocious. The spaghetti bolognaise sauce was literally bright orange and looked like it was nuclear, hardly any meat and cost £14. Half a pint of draught lager was £4. We had to wait on the stairs for 15 mins before we were seated. Obviously when they bricked up the kitchen they were hiding something. Yep. actually hiding the fact that they now don’t cook like they used to and when they do cook it’s very cheap ingredients and food. Never again. I can’t even give it one star it was that bad but I had to give it one as it wouldn’t let me post.

Food was lacking dynamics and taste. The food was served tepid in temperature and would of benefitted from heating the plates. The food was very much a chain experience! The service was to quick….. meaning the food was sat in readiness and not prepared to ordered. The restaurant was presented to a high standard of Christening decoration. It’s a shame the meal did not meet the standards of the decorations

Went for the first time in 5 years on New Year's Eve, even though it was busy, the service was fantastic, food was exceptional and the atmosphere was fizzing. We'll definitely be going back!

Visited twice now. The food and service were exceptional on both occasions. The waiters picked up on the kids names & interacted with them a lot which was appreciated. We were aware the service charge which I personally frown upon, us UK folks like to set the tip ourselves. That said it’s optional and secondly I thought worth every penny for the service. The décor is lovely throughout and the place is kept well - It has A lovely ambiance.

Ate here on New Year's Eve. Welcoming and fun atmosphere from the start. Staff and managers so friendly and great with the little one. Food was lovely Italian classics, including seafood Linguine which was fantastic. Thoroughly recommend this place. Enjoy 👍👍👍👍👍

Nice place. Never a HUGE fan of Italian always think expensive for very cheap basic ingredients. But Sasso does it well. Lovely decor, friendly staff. Nice overall experience

I have been to Sasso many times and had some great times there with many family meals , however there seems to be a bit of a sea change and the object of the evening is to get you in and out as fast as possible . None stop mithering our group to order, despite our friends only just siting down and not even looked at the menu yet .. constant returning to our table to move us along. The food was sadly average at best on this occasion , The strawberry cheesecake was like rubber . We spent over £200 for 4 of us and felt the staff over our shoulder the whole time. We left and went for more drinks elsewhere rather than buy another bottle of wine at sasso as the joy of the evening had been slightly tinged with the rushing ... I don't think i will rush to come back for a while ..

Fabulous Italian restaurant in the heart of Disley village. The surroundings are absolutely stunning from the moment we walked through the door. The food and service is just as impressive. Our waitress was Georgiana who was very welcoming and friendly helping us make this a very memorable occasion. Overall we loved the experience and will certainly make this a regular visit.

Lovely food , very rude waiter , he was more angry when we refused to pay the 10% tip added to the bill. I feel a tip is for good service not to be added to the price of your food and drink

Food,atmosphere and service absolutely spot on!

The food is brilliant but the service doesn’t match unfortunately. The staff brought the food out perfect but it’s not America and didn’t realise we payed a fortune in tips before giving a tip on top and had no thanks for it or appreciation for it.

The food was incredible - great value and so much choice. We popped in last minute and they accommodated us which was really appreciated! Would recommend the mussels and squid starter, lobster ravioli and sea bass pasta. The only downside is that the outside door doesn’t automatically close so whenever people came in there was a draft, not ideal for a cold November evening! But overall, lovely place to celebrate our anniversary

Went here for a celebration meal, beautiful interior, lovely staff (especially young man that had just started, he did really well) tasty food and fab atmosphere. Good choice on the menu and we all enjoyed our meals. Would recommend.

Amazing flavours of all the food we ate. Myself being 18st weight trainer I was upset my RibEye Steak was tiny for £30 no way 10oz. Definitely go again but I'll stick to Italian dishes.

Very quiet. No atmosphere. We had missed the daily specials and only had the Italian menu to choose from. Nothing special and around £70 a couple with a drink. Not impressed to see they added service charge to the bill; and for mediocre service

Came here on a recommendation and so glad we did. Absolutly great place. Ambiance was lovely, staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was amazing. Reasonable price too, can't fault a thing. Will be back with friends and family.

We visited on sat evening . Great atmosphere. Lovely food and excellent service as always from the staff. We had a lovely evening and even though we live near Cibo we would rather travel to Disley . Sasso is so much better . Even though all staff were great a special thanks to Erion who looked after us very well.

Good service, lower tables away from kitchen quieter as on a previous previous visit upstairs table was noisy and echoey, couldn't hold a conversation.

Maybe I just went on a busy night given all the good reviews but not seeing it myself. Scallops starter was fine, the main pasta meal could have been knocked up on a £3.50 budget of Tesco value stock. Wine was insanely overpriced for what was on offer. Anyone smoking/vaping was herded out the back in the pitch black with no light up some steep steps because they clearly didn’t want anyone out the front (fair enough but at least offer a viable and safe alternative). Had to ask repeatedly for water on the table and they forgot to bring out one of the party’s main meal. £42 service charge at the end and I’m not entirely sure what that was for because the service provided was the bare minimum. Place was absolutely packed so they must be doing something right but I definitely couldn’t see what it was.

Lovely night out with friends, great atmosphere

Sasso's is a lovely looking place with unusual decor; has a feel of being outdoors in a courtyard but is fully protected from the elements. The staff were very efficient and got everything right, although they seemed a little harried. The output from the kitchen though was very poor: lasagne with no bechamel sauce and very little meat; salmon bunt at one end and smothered in cream so you only find out too late; zucchini frite prepared with old, bitter tasting courgettes. At the prices they are charging (c.£40 a head) the food quality needs to be improved.

We visited back in Feb and the portion sizes were awfully small. This time round it had improved and it was worth the money. The service was a little over attentive, we were asked four times in the first 5 minutes what we would like to drink, we hadn’t even had chance to look at the menu. Mains arrived and one of them was completely the wrong dish, quickly rectified but a shame. Mains were cleared, we were offered desserts which we declined, 1 minute later the bill was dropped on the table. We had full glasses of wine, no offer of another drink or a coffee. Totally understand they need the tables back, it all just felt a little rushed with no care what so ever. Food was amazing though!

Excellent food, lovely atmosphere and absolutely fantastic staff. So nice to see the “main man” back after his 4 week break back home. Another lovely evening where we were all made to feel so welcome.

Excellent food! I had the ribs, T-bone steak and the cheesecake all were excellent, I would definitely recommend that you check out this extravagant place, it was quiet and didn't feel crowded as well.

This is my 2nd time visit. The environment is very nice and family friendly. All the waiters are very friendly. The food is decilious.

Always amazing food and service! Cannot fault it ever. Staff are so welcoming unlike its sister restaurant Cibo which has awful service and staff. Cannot believe there is any connection.

I really can't fault this place. This was our first visit. What a beautifully presented restaurant - the decor is lovely and the helpful staff are waiting to greet people upon arrival therefore it is a positive experience before you've even sat down! All food and drink orders provided promptly (no long waits) and exactly as requested. The quality of the food is excellent, in particular the Halibut which was the nicest fish I have ever had. Every member of staff we had the pleasure of meeting were all pleasant and attentive, in particular the manager who went above and beyond helping my father (who has mobility issues) in and out of the restaurant. If you haven't been here definitely give it a go. We will be back for sure.

We have only visited here once, but we will definitely be back now that we live in the area. The food is incredible, the service is super quick and the staff are super friendly. The atmosphere is lovely. We booked in really last minute, when the kitchen was about to close and they still let us come in and order what we wanted off the menu, we felt no pressure to hurry along with both ordering and eating. We will definitely be returning!

The food was amazing and the staff were very accommodating. We had to go through the kitchen as the entrance stairs were too much for two of our group, and I can happily report that it was clean and well organised and full of hard working chefs. Highly recommended

Excellent food and service as always. We come to sasso for special occasions and it's always a lovely experience. This time we had garlic pizza bread starter and pasta for mains. Every mouthful was delicious. Thanks you sasso!

Small entrance which leads up to 1st floor expanse of tasteful decor and warm friendly atmospheric surroundings. Beautiful food and helpful staff. Will definitely visit again.

Was quite quiet at the time we visited but service was first class as was the food. Perhaps a little more pricey than other local restaurants but well worth it.

We visited on a Friday night and were very much looking forward to trying somewhere new. First impressions were great, we had to wait for the other couple to arrive so were seated on some bar stools and offered a drink - good start. Menu had lots of choice but I felt we kept being pressured to order as soon as we sat down. It appears the waiting staff have no set tables/sections so it was incredibly unorganised. One waitress brought our starters, 2 seconds later (before we'd even had chance to tuck in) a waiter asked if our food was OK? Give us chance! Ordered water as soon as we sat down, had to ask for this again during our mains as it still hadn't arrived. Food was fantastic - can't fault any of it and my partner said it was the BEST steak he had ever eaten (we all tried a bit and agreed!). Would say the prices were on the high side compared to other authentic and independent Italians in and around Stockport where you will receive a better and more personal service. The 20% service charge automatically added to the bill is something I frown upon unless for a large party. Considering the service was below average, our friends did not want to pay the service charge but as I've been a waitress for many many years, I always leave something. Will definitely return but perhaps on a quieter night when the service might be more acceptable - I wouldn't recommend for a Friday or Saturday evening unless they get organised!

Excellent food & customer service

I was unlucky enough for my car to break down outside Sasso, and also just as the kitchen had closed for orders. But lucky enough that they went the extra mile to help out, and offered me a table last minute. Food was fantastic and service very friendly, the restaurant is really well presented and great atmosphere, would definitely recommend - thanks!

Gorgeous food, such a cozy and glamorous atmosphere. The staff are all outstanding and made us feel so welcome the entire time. I love the way once it got a little bit dark outside all of the indoor trees and decorations had little mood lights that made it look so magical. The quiet background music was also lovely. All of our dishes were 10/10, if anything they gave us too much

Sasso is a place of surprise from the moment you walk in. The external entrance certainly does not relay what you are about to experience as you walk through into the reception floor. Surprisingly there is a staircase in the corner to access the restaurant from the reception room. Not too sure if there is an entrance that is accessible for mobile disadvantage people. Once upstairs and you pass through the bar area which is utilised by the waiters only. The first impression in the dining room is that it seems to have been designed by Doctor Who., Simply because it is huge and not in keeping with the impression having come through a smaller door downstairs off the main street, giving you the immediate impression that it would be a good spot to hold larger party functions it also gives you the impression of eating "alfresco" due to the transparent roof lending a courtyard feel almost authentic to an Italian outdoor restaurant. A fantastic dining space superbly laid out making for a beautiful atmospheric environment. Service was second to none very attentive very polite and very efficient. Coming to the main part which is the food it can only be said this lived up to everything you anticipate from the environment. And in a single word, Superb, with ample portion size. I was there with my family as part of my granddaughter's birthday celebrations. It was my first time visiting but it certainly will not be my last, I feel I have found a new favourite Italian restaurant.

Iv never really done a review but Sasso’s deserves an amazing one. I visited the restaurant on Friday night with a friend who is a regular there and I was really impressed with the service. Normally some places miss out some finer details but Sasso has it spot on. The atmosphere was lit, the decor beautiful and the staff was amazing, really pleasant and approachable. We wanted Halal food and they informed us of what was Halal on the menu and made some recommendations. The food and the flavours were perfect. Will definitely be revisiting again. Thank you for the amazing service.

The decor was amazing. I took some very nice Instagram photos. The staff were very welcoming and jokey with my family which was lovely to see the food is Italian cuisine and it’s all delicious. Cocktails were exquisite and you could tell they were made fresh none of that canned stuff. Had a lovely time, friendly with my little sisters who were only young ☺️

I visited this restaurant on Friday with a group of 11 others for a meal to celebrate a birthday. The place looks beautiful! I'd personally not been before so was very excited for a treat. The waiter that first came to us took our drinks order we asked for house red.. he looked confused and reccomended a Merlot at over £60? but soon understood what we wanted after pointing it out for him and everything kicked off well, then came the second waiter to order mains. We were not ready as not all of our party had not yet arrived, I must have expressed this several times to the chap but he continued to take insist on taking orders this was I felt quite awkward as people had not even looked and as i said our party had not all arrived.. we ended up rushing into ordering olives and a selection of breads just almost for the sake of it. The Breads arrived and they were very tasty. One of the waitresses was putting down some olives, bread and oil and spilled oil on the table in the process.. she then wiped it off the table onto my friends lap, my friend said "you have just wiped that onto my lap, its all over my dress" the waitress said nothing and walked away almost as though she hadn't heard... I was so shocked I mentioned it to the next waiter that passed, he did go over to her and apologise but no offer to have the dress cleaned or do anything about it was made. We asked for water more than 3 times before some more arrived. Then the Mains. I ordered Fillet steak as did a few others, the sauce was nice (tomato and blue cheese) but my fillet was carried around the table as the waitress kept saying meduim rare, medium rare... I ordered rare.. in the end I was the last without a plate so took the meduim rare steak despite ordering rare.. I was really dissapointed with my main. My steak was thin and flattened and dry, almost as though it has been flattened before cooking? as were the fillets on my friends plates.. A friend to my left said she would have complained but by this point it seemed pointless, she didn't want to make the birthday girl who's meal we were all there for feel anymore awkward. For the price we paid, food we received, and service we experienced I should expect very few of us will return and for certain will not be recommending this place to anybody else. Its a shame as its lots of little things that have spoilt the experience!

A truly authentic Italian dining experience, impeccable service and the place had a great vibe. Whenever I see fegato on an Italian menu I just have to have it and this was exceptional.

Been here a few times when I lived in the area. Still my favourite restaurant. Try and get a seat in the terrace, absolutely beautiful.

Went for cocktails and were greeted by one of the managers who was extremely rude who was humming to wether we could go inside. Me and my partner were Also told that we could only have cocktails if we hurried. Wasnt late, nor were they busy. And were spoken to completely different to order customers. Over priced for mediocre drinks Wont be going again.

The problem with our visit to Sasso was the 20 minute queue, cramped into a tiny space and up a spiral staircase. No welcome, mo maitre D and when we did get up the stairs 20 minutes after our reservation, when I explained we had...

We had the most amazing experience here. We hadn't booked ahead (on mothers day of all times to not call) but the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and professional. The food and wine were divine and well worth the money spent. I highly recommend this restaurant to any hungry people.

Nice surroundings, and the staff are really nice. But the food was poor . Bland and not authentic. Over cooked and over priced Expensive for mediocre food. But the wine was nice.

Nice food but on the expensive. Interior is lovely. But some of the waiters were a bit rude and dismissive. Was in a very large group and twice I was missed when drinks orders were being taken and the waiter seemed annoyed when I called...

Loud and sassy venue, perfect for groups but loud for couples/romantic or friends who want to have a conversation. Very nice salmon cervice to start (photo), soft buttery fish and a dedicate pickle. Very nice. My steak was tasty but disappointingly served with a single sliced tomato and a small scattering of chips. Not enough to use all the sauce, which is oddly sold as an extra. I would have preferred 2 or 3 veg. My friend's fish main course looked lovely and was reported as delicious. We weren't approached by a server during our meal. Seemed expensive to me.
