The best restaurants in Washington South Sunderland North East

Disappointed to find they no longer do food here, so only stayed for a quick shift drink. Fine as a pub but not what we were looking for.

Ordered a dinner off just eat asked for no veg no parsnips and no turnip received my dinner will all the veg and not even put gravy on. I called the number on website answered by a lady who advised she doesn’t work there anymore and they won’t remove her number! Bad service

It's got the new modern style rooms, slightly smaller now but still fine. Bathroom has a nice walk in shower and a purple light if you want one!

House wine Jack Rabbit - really!!! And £23 Can't you buy Italian wine as the house wine. Then they even brought the wrong one and lipstick on both glasses Food was nice

The staff were very helpful and the decor was good. A carvery is what it is, but the main aspect is the meat supplied. We got small portions , and the lamb, which was apparently the last of it, was so tough as to be almost inedible. It might have been the case that they were running out, but that should hve been addressed - perhaps with the price or even an apology - it wasn't. There was also the pork crispy skin (scratchings ?) available. You would have needed a hammer and chisel to make a dent in it. Even my sons, in their thirties with healthy young teeth, had to abandon it. Very disappointing.

Went for Christmas Dinner here. Waited 45 minutes for our starter, which was nice. We then waited over 2 hours for our main course before we decided enough was enough and left. We didn't get out deposit back, luckily unlike some We hadn't paid on booking. Will I go again???? NEVER!!!

Nice place to stay, have a snack bar in my room. Breakfast buffet. Friendly staff, and a good space for parking.

What experience went back to old roots , most amazing shop food was excellent, ordered pizza for a family event,brilliant priceless, all family went home pleased we will be back BIG THANKS TO ALL STAFF AT RICKYS , MADE THE NIGHT BIG THANKS

£7 for a meal for one... 5 chips if that microwaved chicken curry.. which was microwaved no joke.. and a spoon of rice.. absolutely diabolical.. worst Indian takeway I have ever had in my life

After a blip in 2023, standards returned to their best. We use this place regularly and have tried most of their different offerings; all of which have been delicious. Our current favourite is Chicken and Donner Wraps with salad and chilli sauce. They are consistently good and the quality of service and delivery is always excellent.
