The Woodlands in Sunderland

Went for Christmas Dinner here. Waited 45 minutes for our starter, which was nice. We then waited over 2 hours for our main course before we decided enough was enough and left. We didn't get out deposit back, luckily unlike some We hadn't paid on booking. Will I go again???? NEVER!!!

Went for Sunday lunch,food and staff were amazing. great portions with lots of veg and wonderful desserts. We've booked up for Christmas.

I was on a walk when the heavens opened and sought shelter nearby I found this place via google maps and popped in for a long needed soft drink. It is a lovely place, much bigger than it looks from the outside. The atmosphere was friendly and warm, staff great, very welcoming and the clientele were friendly. I didn't know this place existed before I visited but I will be back to sample their very reasonable menu with my family.

The pub is little tired looking but it really is s hidden gem. Atmosphere, friendly staff and reasonably priced drinks. They even sell food. Small soft play for the kids.

Good food and great atmosphere definitely a family pub where I feel comfortable bringing the kids and always stuff on for the kids

I was looking for somewhere to eat for Sunday lunch and this place had been recommended to me by a friend. My wife and I, nephew and sister in law went for Sunday lunch. Like everything, half the battle was regarding expectations, I had a Sunday dinner and thoroughly enjoyed everything about it, the food was good, cheap, soft play area for nephew was free and allowed us to eat whilst keeping an eye on him. I can't say I had anything to complain about really.

Decided to try this pub one afternoon with our granddaughter Okay but nothing special. For the meals I thought they were expensive for what was on offer Would I eat there again probably not

its an average sunday lunch you get what you pay for and at £5.95 its not bad DOWN SIDE the whole place could do with decorating it needs a refurbishment if I'm drinking cider i like to drink out of a glass with the makers name on it not another brand i mark down for that the sunday lunch was poor lumpy mash vegetables getting on the cool side the meat was excellent staff are great if it wasn't for them we wouldn't go back

we popped into the woodlands one thursday night we have been several times and its be good but this time we placed our order and sat down had a drink there were a lot of regular drinkers in they asked for the music too be turned up it was very loud and not nice at all they are trying to turn this pub around well with this happening they want to make there mind up if they want dinners or drinkers they have a another room which they could convert into ether a bar or dinning room very disappointed

Hands down the best carvery in Washington! The staff are fantastic and you can tell they really care about their work! The carvery had clearly been made by someone who cares about food and what they serve to the public! Highly recommended!

I went here with my partner and our 3 kids soft play is a great touch very friendly family orientated place the menu is quite varied and tasty portions are great to will be back again very soon thank you for making us feel welcome

I had nice family meal here recently and we were all pleased. I had the southern fried chicken burger which was tasty and the piece of chicken was huge. I'd definitely visit again

Staff all very friendly+eager to please. Food very tasty, also fairly priced. Cheaper one day per week for pensioners with a separate menu for kids. Desserts varied, a nice welcome for us all as we hadn't been for a good while. Would highly recommend to anyone.

popped into the woodlands for a late tea after hearing it had been taken over they haven't quite found there feet yet but we were greeted very well given a menu when asked about specials they replied there coming in a few weeks after we get everything sorted fair enough we thought meal was nice and tasty there are going to turn pub into a community pub which sounds great i would not hesitate to return in fact we are going to try there Sunday carver very soon

We have visited this pub three times over the last few months and each time the food has been great,steak night,mince and dumplings,mince pie,all served piping hot.prices are very reasonable and o.a.p discounts.Would definitely recommend.Mon & Tues 12- 3pm oap silver club £4 per meal.

went to visit the woodlands after reading the menu board outsidefood was good not great but goodfair priceits a bit of a regulars pubbut don't let that put you offthe menu is varied and good value for moneyit wudnt be my first choice but then again it wudnt be my last either

Had a great birthday party for my husband the room, disco and food were excellent the staff and manageress were very helpful and friendly wouldn't hesitate to go back .
