Absolutely brilliant buffet and lovely staff highly recommended a visit

Not what it used to be... Shut a few nights a week. Little choice and almost always dead. Not really anyone's fault though. Ban smoking in pubs and then a 2 year Pandemic, what do you think would happen to a small village pub. Update in 2024. Near the end of 23 I attended a party inside the New Woodlands and I was quite surprised. There was a great kids play area. A great atmosphere and I lovely treat to find my old pub excellent again 😄

Absolutely diabolical. The place stank of smoke and that was just the from what I can only assume is the owner, walking around with a hat that doesn’t fit on her big head. Christmas dinner was absolutely disgusting. A microwaveable turkey dinner at best, at least the ASDA one would have been in date. ASDA’s complimentary smart price Coffee too. Avoid this woman and her business at all costs. She is a con artist. Clearly drugs are being done in the toilets too. My 10 year old daughter asking me what powder was on the sink? It’s an absolute disgrace. This woman needs jailed immediately IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: I was a paying customer to your BUSINESS skelatore

Will never be back again. Christmas dinner was shocking to say the least.

Spent nye in the woodlands, what a fabulous night, buffet 😋, live singer, bagpipes, and fireworks. Great atmosphere, I would say go and have a drink , support a local pub. They have a soft play for kids, loads of toys, free parking. I will be going back

Christmas lunch was a let down. £55 for no welcome drink as offered. The starters were warmed up soup, from a tin. Mains was 2 wafer thin slices of lamb that you bounce off the table it was so dry and a plate of veggies. Dessert was shop bought icecream and cookies. Didn't get the coffee after as promised......this pub/restaurant really was the Grinch that stole Christmas. Saw they could make a quick profit and couldn't deliver -10 out of 10

Went for Xmas lunch 7of us at£50 per head it was disgusting,did not receive welcome drink ,waited ages for food,main meal was a plate of veg with 2 small pieces of meat did not receiv e coffee and cheese it was a total ripoff,was offered a £10 off the bill..big deal

Only gad a couple of drinks there but the service was good

Best Sunday lunch I've EVER had delivered, great portions, all veg tasted as it should, chicken tasty as, the gravy was perfect, nobody ever likes to go anywhere for food with me as I'm so fussy, no complaints at all

Just had Sunday lunch with my sister OMG it sooooooo delicious I had pork my sister had beef. First time here and will definitely be back. Good priced and great value, loads of meat, all veg fresh and tasty. I have tried lots of places for Sunday lunch and can be fussy. I can't fault anything, if you like going out with Sunday lunch would highly recommend yum yum.

Visited for the first time last Sunday 6th august. Both had the lamb dinner. It was the best Sunday dinner we have had in a long time. Food was piping hot.lamb was delicious .great variety of vegetables and the Yorkshire and gravy was very nice . Will definitely be back .all the staff are lovely too. highly recommended

We're not from this area and literally googled pubs near our location, after shopping in the Washington area. I can only assume that the 4.5 stars were from the previous owner. This has apparently been under new management for 6 weeks and our experience was atrocious, I'd have given zero stars if it was an option, I wouldn't recommend at all I'm afraid. We came in to an empty pub, apart from the staff. It took over an hour to makes 6 meals, which included a bacon sandwich and childrens meal. 4 of us ate while the other two waited. We were all finished before the last two meals came out, so we didn't technically eat together. The 8oz gammon steak was no more than a thick piece of bacon, the big boy breakfast didn't have all the ingredients needed to make one and wasn't worth the wait at all. The chips were left because they tasted like they were three days old and the mince and dumplings were so greasy that the two people who were left waiting, actually left the meals!!!! When asked if everything was ok we relayed everything I've said here but there was no offer of a refund and simply said "sorry about that" which really didn't cut it. I'd steer clear until the new management get a handle on running a pub where they serve food. Childrens play area is ok so that's the only plus for us. Not worth the wait or the money we paid for food.

I was recommended to come to the Woodlands in Rickleton by a few people I know as they said the food is beautiful. Myself and 3friends came and we were not disappointed at all. The food was unreal and piping hot. The staff were really friendly and went out of their way to get us everything we needed. Will defo be returning!

First time visiting here since new management has taken over. Food is great quality and value for money! We came here as a party of 8. Food was quick to be served and tasted delicious! Staff were very kind and great with the children. Can’t wait to return and would highly recommend. Well worth a visit. Even if for a quick drink the atmosphere is nice. Thanks to staff for a great experience! See yous very soon!

I highly recommend Woodlands Ricklenton in Washington. A wonderful space for parties, both for children and adults. I was very pleased with the services provided on my son's birthday and on the birthdays of his colleagues. Recommend👍👍👍 💯💯💯

First time been in here staff was friendly food was lovely been a whilst since I had peas on my dinner very quiet .Nice place to come for a drink one night or two .even the dog got fed when we got back home beef chicken and lamb .we'll done keep service up loved it

One of the most amazing pubs I've been in family oriented and the best Sunday roasts in the North east would like to be proven different owner is welcoming and loving and treats everyone like family

Best Sunday Roast!! The meat was perfectly cooked and plenty of it!! The veg and roast potatoes were delicious with home made Yorkshire pudding and roast gravy out of this world.Norhing as good as this in washington Thank you Deborah and staff.

Nice bar good play area for children, but no coffee for the non drinkers.

Accessible pub with helpful friendly staff.

Lovely Sunday lunch for family birthday celebrations. 15 of us in total and meals were really lovely, especially the Yorkshire's! Really good portions and plenty of of meat and variety of vegetables. Staff very accommodating and helpful. Will definitely visit again.

Had a fabulous night tonight for my grandaughter bethany 16 birthday party. The staff were freindly and welcoming and went out of their way to accommodate our needs. I will certainly be visiting again as I hear the food is fantastic. X

A great place to go catch up with friends and family while the kids are fed and have a soft play area to burn off their energy!

A bit run down, lighting and heating was off to save energy and made the pace look dull. Food was ok, but didn't feel welcoming and ate with our jackets on.

Great for family, sports and food. The free indoor play area is great for keeping kids entertained. The arcade, pool table and huge TVs make the sports bar area one of the best in the area. The food is great especially the Sunday dinners.

Lots of pleasant open land and a small park area for children. Lovely area for walking

Woodlands pub in Rickleton is quite spacious inside & outdoor seating for when weather is nice great for kids aswell as they have the soft play area for them

First time I've been in the Woodlands pub . It's big inside. Nice and clean , They have a good snack menu , a lovely kiddy's soft play area inside , And the use of Pool Tables, and a large outside sitting area for when it's fine .

nice pub, went to see a comedy act. Friendly, cheap, super fast barmaid.
