Did have food, canny drinks and live entertainment, so spot on!

Freezing cold and uncomfortable.

Really helpful staff, and a great room for a live band on a Friday night, with plenty of room for a dance too. Loads of parking, and an easy load in for bands. The new young manager is doing a great job, the pub looks smart and he is a proper barman. Even went to find a schooner glass for the brown ale, how rare is that, and "plays" the beer pumps with both hands and multiple glasses so you rarely wait long to be served.

Since the pub has recently been taken over we thought we would try it out for tea with friends. It did not disappoint. Food was amazing and the staff were great. Great choice on the menu, something for every taste

Went here for partners 60th. It was recommended by a friend. 1pm wednesday 12th july. Not open. Went for meal all the way from East durham. Phoned while outside and phone number for the place says invalid number. Tried doors, locked. Yet website says open. Annoyed isn't the word.

New owners seem to be making a good go of it, all the food we have tried so far is excellent.

Quiet small local boozer. Very good prices here and good quality that I tried. The place could really do with updating and decorating tbh. All in all a good spot for a quick one.

This is the 2nd time I've had Sunday lunch delivered and both times received exactly at the time requested. Beautifully cooked food, generous portions and good value for money. The desserts are delicious too!

Met up with friends for lunch in one of my locals which I've not visited in many, many years. The owners have done wonders in putting this village pub back on the map including all their endless efforts in providing meals and treats to the local elderly residents during lockdown. Food was lovely and extremely reasonably priced. Service was spot on and the atmosphere very informal and relaxed. The gorgeous weather was a bonus. A very popular spot which I'll definitely revisit soon.

John Smith's not great today. The pint came with a huge head. Asked for top up which was gladly done however the pint was flat by the time I drank half of it. The young barmaid did mention that there was ongoing issues with the gases. Not what a customer wants to here or experience as my money didn't have any problems with the till.

Superb. Cannot fault. Lamb was slow cooked and beautiful. As was the veg. Cheap as chips aswell. Wouldn't go anywhere else

Booked ahead for I pm Sunday & even ordered the lamb & beef brisket for two. Definitely worth doing as both sell out very quickly. On arrival we were promptly served & drinks ordered & our Sunday Lunch order confirmed. We went to our table & Sunday Roast arrived within minutes. Beautifully presented very stylish long plates with a side of extra gravy & vegetables. The lamb & beef were both tender & delicious. There must have been half a kilo of meat on the plate. The Yorkshire Puddings were like Hot Air Balloons & so tasty as were the roast potatoes. Vegetables were beautifully cooked. The meal was delicious & the staff , smiling, very attentive & very prompt. We were concentrating so much on this beautiful lunch . When we had finished our meal by 1.30pm & looked around. The place was almost full. The Ox & Plough is nicely decorated & lots of open space . Since returning from a long time living abroad & having visited a lot of places for Sunday Roast since returning. The Ox & Plough is top of the tree & hope it remains a well kept secret but I doubt it. Well done Team Ox & Plough & Thank You for a sensational Sunday Lunch.

Had a great Sunday lunch today with the family for my dads 83rd Birthday, food was lovely and the service was great, friendly and welcoming atmosphere, we weren’t rushed, I would definitely recommend a visit and we will go again

We booked for 1.30pm on Sunday & it is an easy to find location & plenty of parking. We ordered our drinks & Sunday Lunch at the bar. Drinks came quickly followed by beautifully presented plates of Sunday Lunch & Vegetables. We both chose Lamb as the Brisket Of Beef had already sold out. We will definitely be returning & order beef ahead next time. A true sign of success. The lamb was a considerable portion with no fat and beautifully cooked. The mashed potatoes creamy & the vegetables were nicely cooked & tasty. Roast potatoes are sensational together with the Yorkshire Pudding. The additional gravy / sauce so tasty. These beautifully presented plates tasted even better than they looked. Absolutely delicious & the team were very helpful & service with a smile. We will be back very soon & congratulations to team Ox & Plough for making our Sunday Lunch a truly wonderful experience. We are still talking about it !!!! It’s a must visit Sunday Lunch venue & let the food speak for itself. !!! Well Done.

WoW !! Easy as , somewhere for tea after the festivities , little hidden treasure that enough people don’t know about , hospitality out of this world , a welcome when you came through the door .. Nice pint to start to study the menu Not lots of choice , but this works in its favour , sometimes the more you have standards slip ... Impressed , fab starters , potato skins n dip lovely , southern chicken n sweet chilli , lush Mains , fab .. my Parmo , chorizo n pulled pork , so tasty , full of flavour , chicken wasn’t over cooked and dry , perfect Double fried homemade chips , perfect Gammon was cooked to perfection and onion rings , proper home made .. tremendous all round Defo will be coming back and would recommend to anyone Background music just set a nice move , the couple who run the pub deserve to do well , as all about the customer being satisfied and happy Big 👍🏼👍🏼up Dec .. 27/2018 Come and tell your friends Good value to Things I need try , black pudding stack looked amazing and the burgers looked unreal , unsure how you’d get ya mouth around them . Came on Sunday to have the Xmas lunch, and as with all their food it didn't disapoint. Perfect amount, turkey was so tender and juicy, starter of potatoes and leak soup was amazing, and the desert unreal, chef really did himself proud with this Xmas meal. The Ox just constantly impresses and is always worth a visit for food and drink, keep it up.

Today we visited the Ox and Plough as a couple for the first time. We had a ‘Christmas Fayre’ lunch. We don’t eat meat and were pleasantly surprised that they had a vegetarian Christmas lunch option. I have never before found an establishment that takes the trouble to provide a vegetarian roast dinner. Here they offered home made vegetarian sausages with roast and mashed potatoes, four types of vegetables and vegetarian gravy. This is so unusual that when I booked the table, I asked Lauren, the owner, if she herself is vegetarian. It turned-out she is not. She said that when she developed the menu, she decided that it was important for vegetarians to also be able to come and enjoy a Christmas lunch. The food was excellent, the ambiance was nice, the staff were all very friendly and our waitress provided very good service. Looking at the wider menu, they cater exceptionally well for vegetarians and for vegans. There are, of course, also a broad range of dishes to satisfy meat eaters. We recommend the Ox and Plough. We will certainly be back ourselves.

We recently had our Sunday lunch from here which was absolutely amazing. BEEF BRISKET was to die for with all fresh veg and homemade Yorkshire puddings. This is a lovely little pub with a friendly atmosphere and very pleasant staff which will accommodate everything you need. Will be back for more food to try .

I cant recommend this place enough. We were a party if 8, 6 adults, 2 7 year olds and a toddler. We overbooked a table and it was ready on arrival with a high chair for the little one. The landlords, Ian and Lauren, were great, friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We all had Sunday lunches with different meats and it was amazing, very tasty and large portions! We then all had desserts and they were all scrumptious, and again very nice size portions.We'll definitely be back again and I'll be recommending to friends and family!

I went for my meal with my family early on Saturday. The menu is very limited, but then the kitchen is small so it's better to keep the menu simple. The food is ordered at the bar, so no "waiter/waitress" service.We had a variety of meals including a burger, a hot dog covered in pulled pork and cheese, a chicken curry, a steak and the Ox & Plough variation on a Parmo. All of the food was very nice and cooked as requested (steak). It was all still nice and hot when it was delivered and the portions were adequate (I eat a lot and I felt that any more would be greed on my part).The bar manager was keen to request feedback and opinions on the food provided and was genuinely thankful for the constructive suggestion made (the only suggestion was that the curry could've used a little more sauce to soak up the rice).There was a decent selection of drinks on tap, including 1 craft ale. There was also a good selection of Gins available for the Gin lovers out there.Overall, a very pleasant and reasonably priced meal for 5 people with drinks. I'd happily return.

The best breakfast and lunch I’ve ever had. The chefs special was a massive Yorkshire pudding with beef brisket chips and onion gravy highly recommended going.

Had a meal yesterday with Mam and daughter. Fish and chips were excellent, mam said it was the best crispiest batter she'd had. The plough hotdog was lovely and the skin on fries were very tasty. I had the pendang curry. It was so tasty. Service was friendly, the pub was clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend

Definitely worth a trip here for Sunday dinner. We went as a family and the food was great ,atmosphere was good and the service was first class. Good value for money too. Think I need to try the menu through the week as if the Sunday dinner is anything to go by I’m sure it will be fantastic.
