Great cafe, food and staff. Would definitely go again. Went again 1yr on. Had vegan mince and dumplings, Rhubarb and apple sparkling drink, followed by beyond delicious pistachio and courgette cake with cappuccino. Very nice staff. Will certainly return again.

Excellent vegan food and lovely staff! The food is so innovative, and delicious. This café is a must whenever I am in Sunderland. Never had anything bad from here, and their full English has to be the best full English I've ever had - superior to a traditional full English!

The best little vegan cafe, food unreal

First time visitor. My daughter is vegan and I'm vegetarian. We each ordered the all day breakfast burrito along with drinks. The burrito was absolutely delicious, packed really full of niceness and quite filling. Staff are very friendly and attentive. It was a really enjoyable experience and I will definitely return.

The food was absolutely impeccable, in all of Sunderland I only know of 2 places that do strictly veggie and vegan food 1 being the good apple, honestly the staff are lovely and the service is amazing which is reflected by the warm atmosphere, 100% recommended

So glad we came, the food is to die for and the service excellent and friendly. What a gem. Although quiet when we arrived the atmosphere was welcoming and friendly. When we left there was not a table spare - speaks for itself.

Wow fully accessible thay is an step to get in but if you open door the staff will come out put the ramp out for you so you can enter very nice of them especially for an small business the food is out of this world recommend the vegan sausage sandwich and the rhubarb crumble muffin to dye for

Pretty nice vegan restaurant. Tiny however very affordable! Scrambled tofu was lovely! Well worth the price for all of the food, the tempeh for bacon replacement was good! Very filling, the food potions are amazing! The place seems quite busy too. Gluten free and dairy free friendly is lovely to see more place popping up like this!

My daughter and I visited this cafe (after a friend recommended it), and we were more than pleased. The cafe is small but cosy, the staff member we encountered was lovely and the menu has so many options (plus there were four different milks to choose from). Our food didn’t take too long, it was well presented, there was a good amount and it tasted great. We will definitely return in the near future.

Lovely vegan cafe. It's small so you might need to wait for a table. Staff are very friendly. There's a baby change in the toilet and high chairs available. As a vegan it's nice to have a full choice of the menu. The Mexican burrito is really tasty! Lovely cakes to choose from as well that are also available to take away. They also do suspended coffee where you can pay for a coffee that will go to someone else who can't afford it.

This is a very well established cafe selling Vegan food with added education. You're never too old to learn. I had oat milk in my coffee and it was very good. Cows milk just doesn't agree with me. Anyway, I enjoyed the coffee here with oat milk, I've since bought oat milk for my coffee at home. The bagels they do here are fantastic, with the right amount of chewiness. Lovely. The whole experience is worth a visit. There were some very happy eaters in here and there was always somebody waiting whilst another group was finishing off. Vegans will love this place. And those without any specificity in their food groups can eat here too. The food coming out all around me looked and smelled gorgeous.

Best tofu scrambled egg I've ever had!

We had the avocado on toast and the sausage panini which were both very good. The 'homemade' sausage was best vegan version I've had in a while. Lots of other dishes on the menus too.

Great to have a dedicated vegan cafe. Lovely breakfast will definitely be going back. Staff great.

Wow what a fantastic place! So rare now to find well cooked, really tasty and imaginative food which is both affordable and lovely! Added to this is a vegan menu including delicious cakes and desserts. A little out of the way but worth finding.

Super yummy vegan breakfast after our trip to Silksworth for parkrun. Really friendly staff and yummy cakes to take out too. Real VFM too! Definitely recommend a visit!

Me and my dad have started coming here once a week as my dad has decided to become vegan. I am not a vegan but I could eat here every day. The food is so delicious. My favourites are the curry’s they are just so authentic and amazing. The staff are really nice.

We tried two dishes from their enticing menu - the Avocado Toast and The Full Works. The Avocado Toast, featuring two slices of toasted sourdough or granary bread topped with beautifully smashed avocado and seasoned with salt and pepper, was a symphony of flavors and textures. The creamy avocado melded perfectly with the crunchy, freshly baked bread, creating a dish that was both nourishing and incredibly satisfying. As for The Full Works, it was a veritable feast for the senses. Thick toast with vegan butter, handmade vegan sausages, scrambled tofu, tempeh, grilled mushrooms, garlic tomatoes, hash browns, and baked beans came together in a mouthwatering medley of flavors. This hearty, soul-warming platter proved that vegan cuisine can be both indulgent and incredibly delicious. Both dishes were excellent value

My favourite cafe in Sunderland. The best vegan fry up I've ever had. Regular tasty specials, coffees great, loads of sweet treats.

A cosy, welcoming nook of Sunderland with new exciting specials and a reliably tasty menu. This has become an almost weekly visit now. The variety, value and presentation of this place feels unmatched. The staff are personable, friendly and welcome you as a friend. The specials on the board have always blown me away and are worth checking out each time. The meals are filling, tasty, colourful and although I'm not a sweet fan, I've never been able to say no to a cake, they're that good. I'll continue to visit every time I'm around Sunderland and encourage everyone to do the same.

Doesn't matter how many hot drinks you buy you only get one stamp on your loyalty card. One drink gets one stamp, ten drinks get one stamp. That's pretty mean.

A small vegan café with brilliant food. Loved it. Can't reserve so may have to wait cos only about 6-7 tables. We didn't need to wait.

What an amazing cafe! It proudly touts itself as a vegan cafe but please don't let this put you off if you aren't vegan. The food is absolutely delicious, and if you weren't told beforehand you would never know that you were eating vegan food. Beautifully prepared and some of the tastiest dishes I've ever eaten. Highly recommended!

I was looking for a dog friendly café in city centre. Found this little café in one of the back street near the bridges. I am happy my dog is allowed . I found out its vegan café. So I said why not. I will try. had a nice wrap and my fav mocha. sausage for my boy. It was actually lovely. Staff are lovely too. So I will come back and will let my kids or friends try it.

I’ve eaten at a lot of vegan places all over the UK and this cafe is honestly one of the best vegan breakfasts I’ve ever eaten!! Whenever I come to Sunderland I make sure I always come to this place. The food is so good & flavoursome

The best cafe in Sunderland for vegan/ vegetarian food, amazing weekly specials, cakes are to die for & the cafe and staff are super welcoming and friendly. Price is very reasonable I think for the portion sizes and quality of the food. Can’t recommend enough

This is one of the best cafes I have ever visited. Such a hidden gem and a very unexpected find. Brilliant vegan *and* gluten free food, which is very hard to come by. Friendly and kind staff + great atmosphere that's covid-secure. The wrap and brownie I had were delicious. Thank you! :)

Average coffee. It's vegan, so no dairy, but that's good. A bit too small and closed in. Staff fine.

Awesome vegan food, great coffee and lovely staff

We visited the Good Apple Cafe after seeing it on the vegan Happy Cow App and we were not disappointed! The place itself is a little rough around the edges and the Covid barriers erected between tables were made out of chipboard which looked awful. luckily we managed to sit by the window but the tables on the other side of the barriers must have been incredibly dark! My partner ordered the sausage ciabatta which he said was the best sausage he had ever eaten (he isn’t vegan) and paired with the roasted vegetables and chutney it was truly delicious! I had a bite of it and was insanely jealous! I ordered the vegan special wrap and enjoyed it a lot, however I was still jealous of my partners sausage ciabatta! We also had a side of dirty sweet potato fries and my goodness these were good! Masses of topping and everything so wonderfully fresh. When paying we decided to take some coffees away with us plus a couple of biscoff bloodies and some berry flapjacks for the next day. All of these were lovely too. All in all I would recommend this place highly and if I lived in the North East I would be visiting frequently. The staff were lovely, the food outstanding and the atmosphere was nice. I have only given 4 out of 5 because of the abysmal Covid barriers but in a world where so many good people are trying to make a difference and are working hard to put amazing vegan food on the map it really is only a minor thing!

There's not a lot of choice for vegans in the North East outside of Newcastle, but we'll definitely be returning to this place whenever in Sunderland. It's a tiny cafe with just 4 or 5 tables, but the menu is ample, with specials on top of the usual breakfasts, bagels, wraps etc. Everything we ordered was fresh, imaginative and tasty - full breakfasts which the children devoured, and a brilliant 'dirty fries' which is a full and quite healthy meal in itself! Service was quick and friendly. I'm not the kind of vegan that can cope with most vegan 'cheese', and there's a lot of this on the menu, but it was easily avoided in practice. Highly recommended.

Went yesterday for lunch. Came across place by chance. Amazing Flat white with oat. Amazing soup and wrap. The service was the best and this added to our experience. I will definitely be back. Cheers all. Paul

Ordered from here when I used to be vegan, 2 months ago. I was so disperate to find a place that does vegan food, and when I found this place omg, was like a blessing haha. The food was tasty. Bare in mind this is not a restaurant, doesn’t have many options, but they good at what they offer. Thanks guys for exiting in Sunderland

If I don't eat my usual burrito on Wednesday that means something happened. Basically. Literally. Honestly this place is an addiction. Staff is fun, friendly. The food is tasty. The quality of everything is immaculate!

We have eaten here many times and can't get enough of it. The food is beautiful, my daughter loves the sweet potato fries but we both loved the gyoza specials which are absolutely amazing, I keep asking when they'll be back on the menu! The staff are so friendly and always give a warm welcome. The cakes are on another level - they are better than any I've EVER tasted, even before being vegan. I love the carrot cake, the victoria sponge and the coffee and walnut cakes... all are absolutely gorgeous.

Called in here yesterday for something to eat before going to the Empire Theatre. My Mum is dairy intolerant so had looked beforehand to find somewhere we could have a nice meal and there would be cake afterwards that we all could eat. Chose The Good Apple as the cakes were vegan so Mum could have a choice. So glad we picked here. The 3 of us had the veggie breakfasts which were lovely, even accomodating our swaps! Thought the veggie sausages were really nice. The cake selection was great, plenty to choose from. The ones we chose were very tasty (pecan brownie, biscoff blondie and caramel cake). The staff were all very pleasant and friendly. Will definitely go again next time we are in Sunderland

Never had a vegan breakfast before, and was pleasantly surprised. English breakfast ticked all the boxes. All was tasty except the vegan sausage (strange texture). Generous offering of avacado toast filled my friend and set her up for a day of touring.

Really nice small intimate cafe offering vegan options. Very pleasant staff. Good service. I had Thai Green Curry which was lovely. Their cakes and take away options clearly popular with steady stream of lunch time customers.

Went earlier this year, the food and service was excellent, really tasty vegan and vegetarian meals, and the cake.Highly recommend the hungry vegetarian full breakfast.Really good food at a good price. These guys help out the homeless and have a really good outlook. Totally worth going, really enjoyed it!

Great choice of Cafe to grab something in after bowling.

They have stopped feeding the homeless as 2 many people were taking the piss. They made me a cup of coffee instead. Thanks alot
