The Little Peppercorn sets the standard for a Tea Room. The food is always delectable. The presentation is always perfect. The charges are more than fair for the food and drink being presented to the customer.

Lovely ladies served the best omelette and chips! Toilet was very clean but up some steep stairs. Very pleased with the price too!

Dropped my phone off next door for repair so had half an hour to kill. As it was lunchtime I was peckish and, having noticed the cafe as I passed, thought I’d give it a try. Absolutely brilliant! Spotlessly clean and a warm welcome always bode well for a food establishment and I wasn’t to be disappointed. Chanced an “All day breakfast” although there were plenty of other options. Service was quick and I had the pleasure of eating while I still had a hot cup of tea - not a regular thing in my experience, so many cafes give you your drink but are that slow with service you’ve either finished it or it’s cold. Not here, tea was still hot when the food arrived. I’d opted for the small version which consisted of 1 sausage, 1 rasher, 1 egg, mushrooms, beans and tomatoes and a slice of toast. All well cooked, decent quality, and very, very, tasty. The price was reasonable and there was the facility to sit outside for hardier souls. All in all a good little spot and well worth a return visit.

Whenever we do a walk in Hetton-le-hole, we make a beeline for this caf'e home made cakes and pastries. lovely.

Visited the little peppercorn tea room after a lovely walk through hetton country park. Owner made us feel very welcome. Tea room beautifully decorated and felt warm and cosy. Mince and dumplings with homemade chips were delicious. Well worth a visit and we will be back. Thank you

Lovely food, great value, friendly staff

Friendly and has an amazing atmosphere and good food

Popped in at 11am a week before Christmas. Welcomed as we came through the door and took a seat next to a warm radiator (it was freezing outside). Ordered a big breakfast and a small breakfast. Absolutely beautifully cooked and totally delicious. All items on the breakfast of excellent quality of particular note the black pudding and bacon. Accompanied by a nice strong Americano coffee with the cutest little milk bottles. Resonably priced and highly recommended. Ps, to the owners your desserts could be a little less expensive.

Had an afternoon tea with some friends. What an amazing choice of sanwiches,pastries and cakes.plus individual trifles. Bottomless tea and coffee. Very friendly staff ,nothing too much trouble. Definitely worth a visit and wiil be returning.

Been to this lovely cafe many times. The food is always spot on, with a good variety to choose from. The service is excellent and ever so friendly. Value for money is 100% everytime. I've had breakfast, lunch, dessert and coffee here and keep returning.

Shame they close early without advising customers online. Checked here before making my way to the cafe for them to be closed an hour early. Gutted. Travel just for the good food. So food gets 5 star but service brings it down.

Called in while walking past it was a nice day so sat outside and watched the world pass by. Very reasonably priced with a great selection of salads, panini, sandwiches and also hot meals. Will definitely try a meal there sometime.

Called in here whilst visiting family, this is a very pleasant and spotlessly clean cafe with friendly welcoming staff. We had a sandwich and a cup of tea, everything was fresh and tasty and beautifully presented. All together excellent value for money and a very enjoyable experience. Definately one to revisit next time we are in the area.

Nice tea room very reasonably priced very clean nice food good staff

My partner and daughter visited this lovely tea room late February after a brisk, fresh warm and play in the local park at Hetton. The staff are always very welcoming and friendly and they're on no hurry for you to leave. We (the adults) both had a pot of tea each and the daughter had a hot chocolate; which came at a temperature ready for her to drink straight away. Also came with some additional marsh mallows!! The other patrons all seem very friendly too, the place is extremely clean with outdoor seating for those who wish to brave the elements! I have been several times either with my partner, as a family and alone. Each time I gave felt extremely welcome and received service with a smile. Definitely would recommend- the food is always fab and is extremely reasonably priced with very adequate sized portions served.

A fantastic Tea room proving great food and service. Had Panning with side dressing. Apple pie and custard and pot tea. All at reasonable price. Fab decorations with music playing in background. Will defiantly be back.

Fantastic little cafe, friendly staff & delicious food!

We called in to this little tea room around 3pm today and decided to order a favourite of ours ... an all day breakfast! This was served promptly on large white square plates without a trace of grease! Our toast and a pat of butter was also presented on a white plate in the shape of a slice of bread ... a rather cute little touch we thought! This was no small breakfast including two eggs, 2 sausages, 2 slices of bacon plus beans, tomatoes, a hash brown & toast!! The whole tea room was spotlessly clean and the service was speedy and friendly. Excellent value for money so definitely a place we'll happily visit again.

Not long open, the owners previously had "Peppercorns" in Houghton and have brought their high standards with them. The place is immaculate, busy and good value. The staff are pleasant, friendly and welcoming and the food is excellent. Once visited, you will return. See you soon
