We stopped by for drinks, had a large table by the window. TV with sport, but fortunately turned down so not intrusive.
Enjoyed our time here and may return.
Came with my wife on a Saturday night and it was fairly quiet with only a few tables filled.
Food was really good. As it was our first visit we played it fairly safe with hot and cold mezes to start, followed by a lamb shish and a mixed grill. With that being our order I felt it was like a good, but slightly more exotic, Turkish. There are some more interesting things on the menu which I’m keen to try on future visits, including from the breakfast and lunch menus.
The mains were massive portions, and we were furnished with a takeaway box for our leftovers. We were also given a milk pudding desert on the house which was a nice touch.
I hope this place does really well and fills up more than it was on our visit as it’s really good, the staff seemed nice people, and Syrian cuisine is a welcome addition to add to the local variety.
Would be 4.5 Stars if I could add the half. Half point off for being bring your own booze as I’d love to try an imported Syrian beer!
Visited with my family and a relative on visit. Had a nice dinner. We ordered seafood stew, pork kimchi stew, prawn tempura udon soup, Chimibab ( similar to Katsu chicken with rice and mayo instead of curry sauce ) and of course fried chicken coated in sweet and spicy sauce. Service was great. The gentleman serving us was very friendly, I’m guessing he is the owner. It was a very cold evening, my son and I arrived first and they offered us straight away some complimentary hot roast corn tea which was very kind. Only thing I don’t like about this place is the 10% service charge to your order. The portions are not big for the price. It’s not cheap with the stew costing between £12-15. Bab Bab doesn’t come across as a restaurant, more of a cafe style hence the 10% service charge is not quite justified. But the dishes are tasty especially the fried chicken. Would recommend Bab Bab but be prepared to pay.
Went to chippey to night food was excellent but when you go in and there’s no one in front of you ,you expect to wait no more than 25 minutes Uber upon Uber come in and pick up orders no problem but please tell the walk in customers you may have to wait up to 45 minutes plus not what I call traditional
The worst curry we have had there. No licence. Plastic place mats, cheap paper napkins. Curry was like a soup with prawns swimming in it chicken hard. Smelt damp service rubbish. Don't waste your money.
We were a party of 19 celebrating a birthday. The food was delicious and the service warm and attentive. The atmosphere made the meal really special. Highly recommend for any occasion.
I ordered from here without reading the reviews. Overall it is not bad… there are better places but for the lower price, it is more than acceptable. This is a generous 4*… I can see why others say the sag aloo tastes like cigarettes- I’ll put this down to seasoning! I felt my mix grill was reheated and veg curry is borderline. Mint sauce was nice and the korma was excellent- not a sweet puddle of coconut that other places do. Naan was definitely fresh. When ordering at 5pm on a Saturday, arriving at 6.20pm is a little concerning when it is supposed to be quiet. Give places like this a chance… was far from terrible.

Having spent the best part of £100 on food and drink in the garden, during the course of a Sunday afternoon, when we asked for some ice, we were told to go to the bar and get it ourselves - which we found quite insulting and very unhelpful especially as we had given a tip on the drinks we had purchased. The unhelpful service would make us question whether we would revisit.
