Don't come here for breakfast! Had the worst breakfast I have ever had. Poached egg was solid, cold and rubbery with the yoke just crumbling, the hash brown was so over cooked, it didn't cut, just just crumbled into pieces and the bacon was more fat than meat. We complained and eventually got another poached egg and the comments when showing the hash brown to the server was "we have had a number of complaints", to which he walked off and then proceeded to totally ignore us. Waited 30 mins to get his attention for the bill and when I said about taking money off, he looked away and totalled ignored us. If it wasn't the fact that we had to leave quickly due to the time I would have taken it further then and there. Don't waste your money as they cannot be bothered. Update - In addition to the appalling breakfast and rude service, it seems we were also overcharged as your online menu states two traditional breakfasts for £14.00 – we were charged £15.98. It seems your staff need further training in cooking the food, customer service and their knowledge of the menu.

Enjoyed a nice cooked breakfast here today. It has changed over the years and now has a smaller menu, but still good. I had a veggie breakfast and added on an extra egg and hash brown. Cappuccino was lovely and frothy. Food was which and staff were great. We went just after 9 so it was nice and quiet, it can get busy at other times, but lots of seating. Having table service is an improvement, as before you'd have to go up to order etc.

Unfortunately, our family breakfast fell short. The Benedict had a stale, soggy muffin, the traditional breakfast came with burnt toast, and my son's order was missing hash browns. Despite informing staff, the hash browns never arrived, as they were apparently lost. We paid full price but won't return due to the disappointing service and food quality.

Decided to take the family out for lunch and haven't been to Dobbies since it changed over from Woodcote Green - we were very sad about this at the time. Arrived to see plenty of tables but a long queue to be seated. Apparently this was down to being short staffed so they closed a section of the restaurant. Even so, many tables were not being cleared away in the section being used which added to the wait. However, when seated, we were impressed with the selection for food and the fact kids ate and drank for free with an adult main. Made the prices, which were already reasonable, even better. My wife and I chose fish and chips which was really tasty and the kids had the usual child meals. The only downside was either side of the food. Waiting to be seated and then a very long wait to try and pay. Nevertheless, I would definitely come and eat here again as the kids eat for free and there was a decent choice for the adults too. That alongside the plants, fish and other things to look at make it a handy place to visit to use up some time.

Love coming to Dobbies every now and again thought to sign up to their membership card when approached by a nice lady at the centre, saying we would get 10% off our purchase. First time back to this garden centre since leaving the area to find its no longer independent and is now a bland, corporate dump with staff wandering around like extras from the walking dead. Never had to queue up 40 mins for a coffee before. Free tables everywhere but still standing around to get seated. I won't go on, just won't ever be back and strongly suggest you swerve it and try and find a business that wants your trade. Granted, food is cheaper but quality is no better than average. Didnt get as far as looking at the plants but it just seems a shadow of what it was before being bought out.

Met a friend for breakfast a few weeks ago for breakfast, we placed our order, food came very quickly but it was cold. Scrambled egg was cold, bacon was not cooked enough. My friend sent it back to the kitchen and when the breakfast was replaced it was slammed onto the table. We also asked for more drinks and they never came. Ask for bill and that came straight away. Dobbies Woodcote restaurant is a disaster..! visited today with 2 of my sisters..we sat in the dog friendly area...went up and asked for menus...as it was 11.40am we were told we can only order from the brunch menu as lunch does not start untill 12.00?.. a lady left us 10 min came back we ordered 2 teas 1 coffee...1 fish finger sandwich ..I bacon n lentil soup.. 1 bacon and brie sandwich ...we sat there for over 30 mins ..got up and asked if the order was coming ?...still no tea or coffee!.! It was now gone 12.00 so we could of ordered off the lunch menu ! Another 20 mins still no food or drinks ..then the server came over and said no bacon n lentil soup only tomato n basil!?..this was ridiculous as we had placed the order ages ago...lady apologised and then the drinks came ...no food.. eventually the food arrived ...the fish finger sandwich had stone cold fish n the middle obviously frozen food not cooked...the soup was lukewarm ...the brie n bacon sandwich had streaky uncooked fat ...so again not cooked ... the server was by our table when my sister took a bite from the fish finger and immediately took it out saying it was stone cold ..my soup wasn't heated properly...I told her we wanted to speak to the manager but she said he was rushed off his feet ? She said il take the whole lot of the bill ...what an utter waste of time... we were collared to sign up to a dobbies card on the way in so hat you get 2 free coffees.. and a discount off the plants ...but when we walked around the plants are much more expensive than other garden centres so it's a big CON! you are paying much more to start with so ur no better off... the restaurant was manic with people queuing to get in but they obviously do nit have enough staff in the kitchens and definitely not proper chefs they do nit know hiw to cook food properly and people will end up getting food positing especially if it was a child.... big mistake...dont bother going ...!!

Had this as a nice place but unfortunately can no longer say that. Everything in the store seems overpriced including the Waitrose (when compared to Sainsbury's just down the road). Restaurant is expensive for the quality of meals and the cafe is so slow to get a coffee it's ridiculous. (Even in a small que it can take 20 mins to get served), as well as cakes etc being more expensive than other local cafés. It's a shame but overall it feels like a glorified Supermarket and has certainly lost its charm that was always there in the past.

Good but pricey on some items and slow service. The soft play facilities for children are fantastic. The cafe attached is fine but pricey. £4-£5 for a slice of cake and £1.69 for a small 330ml bottle of water. The main cafe is better priced. £13 for fish and chips is ok. Jacket potatoes £5 approx. Queues and slow service at times. I think this is because they have expanded too far and too fast like many hospitality businesses post-Covid.

It's a hollow shell of what it used to be. We used to come at least twice a month before it was sold off as things were always changing and you could always find something nice in the giftware section. The restaurant always served good food, and this brought in many customers, although it used to be busy and you could struggle to find a table at peak times The previous time we came to the restaurant a couple of months ago we stood there for 5 minutes and nobody arrived to show us to a seat, so we walked away. Yesterday we gave it another try and watched as the staff member had a chat with a colleague for around 3 minutes before coming over to seat us. Throughout this conversation he kept glancing over so knew we were there. The most painful bit about the restaurant experience is the insistence on not allowing you to pay at the time of ordering. It's infuriating having to sit around like lemons once you've finished until somebody's attention can be grabbed so that you can pay and leave. You can be there 10-15 minutes sometimes. The difficulties in entering/exiting are the main reason that we rarely visit now and will go some way to explaining why the restaurant was barely a quarter full

*Christmas Santa review* We've taken our daughter two years in a row to Woodcote Santa, because it is very good value for money. You cannot fault the price compared to other experiences locally. However, unfortunately this year our experience fell short of the usual. We arrived to a very long queue, despite booking a timeslot. It just seemed there was no organisation. You joined the back of the queue even if those in front of you had a slot after yours. This meant that we waited about 50 minutes in a queue with a 2 year old, who obviously doesn't understand the concept of waiting. It is misleading to give people a timeslot, and then just have a general queueing system, because we had planned our day around this, including work commitments. Again, you can't fault the price. But waiting times were disappointing.

We had an issue with some lights. I have to highlight 'Amy' the Trading Manager who's customer service has been one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with (and I've been in retail all my life so have seen it all!!). Uber-quick responses, decisive and genuine empathy whilst looking for the most reasonable solution. Dobbies, you are very lucky. The true sign of a company's values is how they deal with a complaint. Amy's care with this situation clearly indicates that Dobbies have decent values. Thank you Amy, we look forward to continuing to shop at Woodcote and hopefully will cross paths to say 'hi' and 'thank you' in person. You are a huge asset to Dobbies.

Having been coming to Dobbies, and previously Woodcote Nursery to eat for many years we were extremely disappointed with our experience on Sunday 26th November '23. Firstly, we queued for an hour for a table between midday and 1pm, despite there being ample room in the restaurant but seemingly far too few staff on duty. We were a party of four, three of the party wished to order the Sunday roast (beef brisket) but were advised that it was actually the Xmas roast (turkey) - this was not published anywhere; the young waitress was friendly but not particularly knowledgeable about the menu. In the end we ordered two roasts. What we received was frankly appalling, many items were inedible, including the red cabbage and Brussel sprouts which were virtually black. Evidently the plates had been sitting beneath a hot lamp for quite some time. Given the length of time we had waited to be seated, I was reluctant to send the meals back, I barely ate anything and my son ate nothing. On requesting the bill we raised a complaint with our waitress who referred the matter to the manager (a female with blonde hair). Her attitude was also appalling, she reluctantly agreed to remove the cost of one roast from the bill, but at no time did she issue an apology and she looked thoroughly miffed quite frankly. Needless to say, and disappointingly we will not return to Dobbies at Woodcote Green to eat in the future.

Seven tables free in the bottom seating area, 6 tables in the top seating area and nine tables free in the dog friendly. Seven members of staff walking around the restaurant area, serving the odd person or just standing around not really doing much It took 15 minutes to get seated in the end even though there were plenty of tables. Surely you should get people seated asap if there is space and not make people wait around for so long

My wife, daughter and I went to Dobbies to stock up on Christmas decorations. Ever the optimists, we decided to have brunch in the restaurant first, in the hope that we'd have a better experience than the last time we there. We were wrong. If anything, it was worse. We stood in a - relatively short - queue for about 30 minutes or so, watching serving staff waft about without acknowledging the fact that anyone was waiting to sit down - despite there being several empty tables. When we were eventually seated, we were now too late for brunch; they'd moved on to the lunch serving. After another interminable 30 minutes, we managed to flag someone down who told us there was no point ordering anything as the kitchen had put a hold on orders for 10 minutes. Would we like a drink though? I mentioned to our server how disappointing the whole experience was. They just shrugged and admitted that, yes, they were rubbish and we weren't the first people to mention it. We gave our food order nonetheless, thinking it was probably worth getting ahead of the system. Nothing ventured, eh? When it finally came, the food was perfectly adequate. Except for the fish finger sandwich which arrived for my wife - a vegetarian - who'd ordered an egg sandwich. "It was definitely a fish finger sandwich," snapped the server. "It definitely wasn't," snapped I in return. We ate. We chatted. We finished. We paid. We vowed never ever to come here again to eat. We bought decorations and everything was good with the world once more. TL;DR - long queues, terrible service. Don't eat at Dobbies. Happy Christmas.

So disappointing. Went here to have lunch and then do some shopping around the garden centre. Every single table in the large restaurant eating area was covered with trays of dirty crockery and food but very few tables were occupied. There was very limited food left. In the long queue to get served the only lady behind the counter advised it was 15-20 minute wait for any food. It was so disappointing we ended up leaving with no lunch and did no shopping which was a shame as I had £200 voucher I was hoping to spend on plants. To top the lot the route from Banstead means you enter ULEZ which would have been fine if things had been better - all in all really disappointing. Many staff in other areas of the garden centre not very busy. Will not be returning.

Went to look for Christmas decorations but found mediocre displays and selections, which was a disappointment knowing that they are a good garden centre.

Went to coffee shop this morning, it was very busy but the two ladies serving were so cheerful and efficient, and even offered to carry my tray to the table despite the rush. Absolutely first class service. Thanks

Lovely products and beautiful Christmas section. Staff extremely slow in the cafe - 45 minute wait for a cup of tea! One staff member watching toast cook under the grill instead of doing other things whilst it was cooking.

Rather long queue/wait for waiter serviced restaurant, compared to previous self-service.

Great garden centre with so many different sections, the Christmas area in particular is absolutely full of a vast range of different decorations. Always lots of offers available to members. Enjoyed a lovely hot chocolate and slice of cake in the cafe. Staff were all very friendly and helpful

This place has really gone downhill since I last went here. Went for breakfast. Server was almost rude when we ordered. It was obvious that she’d rather be anywhere else. The food had been left under the lamps for so long before it got to us that the scrambled egg was rubbery and inedible. When we complained we received a huge sigh and a “well what do you want instead?” as a response. We ordered the mini breakfast but were not told that we had been given vegetarian sausages as they’d run out of pork sausages - we knew by the taste as they were over cooked anyway and hard as bricks, but we overheard a different waitress telling someone she was serving that they had no regular sausages. We didn’t like to complain again, but we won’t be going back.

Pricey, but they have a great variety of things for sale, The two free coffees a month with the club are an attraction.
