The worst curry we have had there. No licence. Plastic place mats, cheap paper napkins. Curry was like a soup with prawns swimming in it chicken hard. Smelt damp service rubbish. Don't waste your money.

The menu is very extensive although pricey, but you get real quality here: the chutneys were very good, popadoms were light and not at all oily. The king prawn starter was delicious could have served it with lemon wedges for dressing. My Hyderabad Dhal was delicious. The Chicken Hyderabad Biriyani was authentic , chicken was very slightly a little dry but excellent flavours and the side curry of mixed vegetables ( Madras hot) was outstanding. My wife’s choice of king prawn with mango curry was really tasty and the naan bread perfect. The guys were very friendly. We enjoyed it very much: 9/10!

I have used this curry house for over a year has always been nice the last 2 times I have ordered it wasn’t great lacked flavour but I gave them the benefit of the doubt as I have never had a problem before and decided to give then one last try. Ordered a takeaway this evening, I would say it was the worst takeaway I have ever had, this is the first time I have ever wrote a review! Waited over an hour for the curry and it turned up stone cold, rang them they said there would be a new one coming in 15 mins, they exchanged the cold one for the new one and its was even more cold than the first !! The chicken tikka masala was freezing no flavour and was soo watery the water was swimming round my plate and the chicken so dry and chewy. I threw it all away. Would never ever in a million years order from this place again.

Ordered a couple of nights ago for three people. Extremely disappointing especially for the extortionate price. The chicken dishes were extremely watery and lacked any substance. Was disappointed after this second takeaway and so won’t be using again. I don’t understand why they would need to charge over the odds for a supermarket value meal.

Having heard so much with high expectations this place really disappointed us all. Too expensive, over rated, a lot of the things on the menu weren't available. Food was bland, I mean if you cannot make proper daal you can't be an authentic Indian restaurant. Not recommended, dont waste your money. Better go to other places like Lahore spices with much better food, service and half the price.

They said it was £33.95 when it arrived!!! Upon querying it the guy said it wasn’t the same as on their website anymore. Ridiculous price, and not worth it so I will not be going there or ordering in any more takeaways, despite having been a loyal customer for years. It is now totally overpriced & they can’t even acknowledge the fact that their own website is advertising a completely different set of prices! How do they get away with this? Trading standards???

I totally agree with the recent reviews the food and service dropped where as the price doubled. I was gob smacked with the volitile service received on the last visit from the drinks to the main course every thing was just was thrown at us, not only that the waiter tipped food all over my lap didn’t even get an apology. The same waiter encouraged us to order more sides and rices he said what ever was left we can take home where as later he couldn’t be bothered to pack it up in fact at the end of the meal no one even attended to clear the the food for us we left the restaurant with our food on the table. To sum it all up the evening was an embarrassment for me as it was my recommendation to my family. My advice would be for the owners to really take control of their staff and manage the business properly if they were to advertise it as Fine dining restaurant in the future. I would say the local fast food have better service based on my experience.

Have been to the Haweli many times over the years and used to go quite frequently, however in the last year we were surprised how expensive it was getting, still great food but with drinks £45-50 per head. This may explain why it’s not as busy on a Friday as it used to be. Main culprit drinks although the main menu has crept up in price again . With other choices in Sutton/Cheam area us overall not the first choice now to go for this reason.

My family and I used to visit Haweli of Belmont a few years ago. At the time it was a very good restaurant on all counts. This visit, my friend and I, were seated at a table of our choice. We did notice the lovely decor and lighting, which added a great deal to the atmosphere of the place. We ordered Relish Tray with 4 Papadums, and a jug of tapped water.Jugs of water the restaurant did not provide, so we asked for two glasses, telling the waiter to keep topping the water when required. The Papadum with relish came pretty smartish, well presented and tasted OK.As for the rest of our meal, we ordered one portion of Onion Bhaji, Chicken Pasanda, Chicken tikka Masala, 2 portions of Pilau Rice and Peshwari Nan.The reason for ordering two lots of rice is that the Pasanda and the C.T.M did not come with rice.It took quite a while to assemble and deliver our order to our table.Presentation of our dishes was nice, but the food...Onion Bhaji, soaking in oil.Peshwari Nun, Half baked.Chicken Pasanda, were are the Almond Nuts? it tasted like Korma and the fact that Rice did not come with it added to the bill.Chicken Tikka Massala, Passable.Service was just about OK.You have read what we ordered... The Bill came to £50...IT IS A RIP-OFF.No Service Charge was added to our bill, just as well.To conclude..you won't see me or my friends until such time as you reduce your prices and improve on the standard of food.I'll look at TRIPADVISOR from time to time to see if my recommendations have been acted upon.Ron Ben-Zvi.

We were recommended to go here by friends and were forewarned that it was quite pricy, but told it was good food, so gave it a try! The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated, and looked fresh and clean, waiters were very attentive and were happy to explain anything we were not familiar with, as some of the food is quite different from the norm. We enjoyed the food very much, and was expecting the bill to be inflated-which it was, but I was surprised to see they charged £3.50 per cup for what can only be described as generic curry house, disgusting ash tasting coffee! And we were not even offers a refill (which we would have declined by the way! (We were at a Michelin five star hotel just the day before and coke was £2, it was cheaper than £3.50 from Hawelli!) I'm happy to pay more for the food, but not the drinks, so probably wouldn't return!

Nobody asked us if we wanted to move, even though we couldn't hear ourselves think. They got so drunk they started taking selfies of their willies!! The staff turned a blind eye to all of this as they only seemed interested in increasing their bill by plying them with more alcohol. The restaurant was also a rip off, charging £4.95 for a pint of Diet Coke and £3.95 for half a Cobra. We're disgusted at the Manager's attitude when we complained, saying it was OUR fault that WE needed to bring the foul behaviour to their attention! We will not be going there again. It's one thing being ripped off, but quite another to put up with loud, foul lewd and offensive behaviour which the restaurant and it's staff were happy to overlook, in favour of their profits! It has always had good food & good service but the prices seem to have outgrown the restaurant. They charge for relishes, & put 12.5% service on the bill so TIP INCLUDED! Overall good experience until the bill arrives.

Took my friend and 3 kids here. She used to be regular guest. Not anymore!! The food particularly the chicken was not great. To top it all the service charge of £19.65 was a joke!! I queried it and was told it's normal. Errr no it's not!!! I was entertaining my friend and family so didn't want to make a fuss. However I am disgusted by this! I always tip, but it's MY choice. And I'd also like to know why my so called service charge wasn't put through on their card machine as a gratuity... a tax fiddle going on?Livid. Will not be back!

Great customer service in lovely surroundings. Traditional Indian cuisine at great value for money. Highly recommended

We visit this restaurant fairly often, but was horrified to receive a bill for at least £20 more that normal for the 2 of us and with only one of us drinking alcohol. Prices have gone up massively and service charge added at 10%. To make the whole experience even worse the parking is horrendous near the restaurant. I know they can't control the parking but they do have control over their prices. There are plenty of other local restaurants to choose from that offer good food at reasonable prices. Sadly we won't be going back here unless they do something about their prices.

Been going to the Haweli for years!Food was lovely but it doesn't warrant the price hike and service charge!I had booked this restaurant for a family get together and I was so embarrassed when the bill came and an additional £30 added for a service charge.Won't be returning....Real shame Haweli.

We have not been here for over 10 years and it was the only place open at 5pm. But I wish we waited a little bit longer. There are other places which serve better food without having to charge extraordinary prices.£3.95 for pineapple juice which ad loads of ice cubes?£4.50 for lemonade?£6.00 for a pint of beer?£12 for a kid size korma?£4.50 for nan bread?£4.00 for a small bowl of rice? The list goes on and on.For a family of kids and 2 adults, this cost over £130.Food was ok but not warrant the incredible price charges,

The place which charges £6.60 for a Coke the same price as a cobra, this place has rebranded its menus and doubled its prices Very disappointed with this place now, used to be great but now just out to overcharge everyone What a shame

Recently shocked by the price of our regular take away has caused us to re-think where we visit for a take away or local curry out, very nice but far too expensive considering 'The Star' and 'Samsara' are local. Sadly far too expensive now so we'll be trying 'Curryzma' across the road! Sorry guys, you are our favourite for now bit the price increases are too much! A take away for 2 consisting of 1 rice and 2 mains for £30 is too much.

We went for the Sunday buffet with a few friends. Whilst the service was great the food was mediocre and only just warm , despite us being there early. It is a shame but I can understand why there were so few people there. Sorry but not for me

Booked a table to celebrate a birthday. Totally ruined by appalling service. Turned up in time 7pm - order taken. Poppadoms for the table arrived straight away. Then waited over 1.5 hours for our meal. It would appear priority is given to the non stop delivery people turning up or people who are known to the restaurant. We had to keep asking for our food. In the end some of my party had to leave as the children just couldn’t wait. Thank you Royal India for totally ruining my birthday! The manager couldn’t care less and just stood there on his phone whilst we were trying to talk to him. Tip - eat elsewhere.

Wrong food delivered with black plastic pieces in the meal. Called to complain but they did not care. Had been using this place for takeaway for years but bad experience after bad food experience. Lost more customers. Don’t put plastic in food.
