Sakura Indian Restaurant in Sutton

We ordered a delivery and when it arrived it was so bad I that took it back. The owner explained they had a temporary chef in covering. In fairness the restaurant gave us a full refund with no argument which I expected. Disappointing as I have had great food from the restaurant in the past. It will be some time before I go here again if at all.

A lovely restaurant with fabulous waiters.

Food: I've had many curries in my years but this was without any doubt at all the best I've ever had. The smoothness of flavours and spices is like nothing else. Simply superb. Service: Wonderful staff. Engaging, polite, lovely to speak to. Their service makes the meal. Atmosphere: Really relaxed place to spend a couple of hours and take in that wonderful food. Thanks so much everyone at Sakura - truly excellent all round ❤️

I didn't receive the order at all. I need refund

We had A takeaway last night from here for my birthday. Delivery was prompt but sadly the food was very poor . No taste distinction between dishes and the food was very greasy . Feel very let down .

For a curry, food was surprisingly tasteless. No spice/heat, and the biggest flavour was tomatoes or onions in all 3 separate curries. Very very greasy as well.

Had a takeaway delivered via Deliveroo. All of the food was cold and had gone bad. Naan bread soggy. Pakoras were rock hard. Curries were watery and tasteless. Good job it wasn’t very expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for.

The food was terrible is undercooked and cold .never order again .

It was ok a bit disappointed in the Rogan josh didn't seem right

Ordered at 18:30 for 20:00 delivery. Arrives 20:20 , cold mush. Containers barely half full apart from the cold full rice. If they sliced the paneer any thinner in the sag paneer I would be able to see through an of the 7 tiny pieces. Goodbye....

Had a delivery last night,awful,the Keema Naan was small,and had no filling,i actually thought maybe they had sent plain by mistake.The Lamb Jalfrazi was in a red sauce like a Tikka masala,but with a couple of chillies put in,my partner said it was awful,and couldnt eat it.My son had the same dish and said it wasnt nice and had grizzle.My dish was a butter chicken type dish,wasnt nice,had a funny taste to the sauce.

Amazing food, amazing staff, couldn't do enough for us, definitely will be regulars. Can't wait to come back and not even left yet. Thank you 😊

we have always ordered from here but today was shocking, food took forever to arrive then items were missing and overall the food lacked any flavour at all and was seriously watered down when spending £80 plus on a meal and having to throw most of it away, will no longer order from hear which is a real shame as food used to be amazing

Delivery took over 2 hours. Food was nice but arrived freezing cold. Delivery driver said he got "held up" at a previous delivery. Judging from other comments delivery time and food temperature seems to be the biggest issue

Lamb spices very poor, madras was just peppery. Mushroom bhaji very poor. Takeaways seem pretty awful from my experience, dine-in much better.

Attended Sakura' s Sunday Buffet (yesterday) for my Brother's 60th, He is a regular face, often attends with his family. This was my first experience, enjoyed my visit, plenty of food, good selection of choice, VERY GOOD VALUE friendly staff - would definitely recommend

The curry was bland. Was meant to be spicy but wasn’t and didn’t have enough salt. The only enjoyable thing was the peshwari naan. Really disappointed.

food is very average, the seekh kebab with mint yoghurt tasted very odd, and its not very spicy, all the dishes ive got taste pretty much the same e.g. the chicken madras and jalfrezi just watery curry no spice to it. would avoid

The food was tasteless , no flavours at all not even black pepper 🤦🏽‍♀️ tarka daal was like a soup, water instead of sauce no daal . Containers half full just unbelievable felt like someone’s left overs . Waste of money , very disappointing.

I highly recommend Sakura Indian Restaurant! Food, service and atmosphere is 5* What I like the most is you aren't rushed and turned out like a fast food restaurant, they give you plenty of time between courses and don't make you feel rushed

Ordered a takeaway from the restaurant and was very disappointed. The lamb madras was swimming in water… very bland. Unfortunately the restaurant was not of any help either when wanting to rectify the issue.

We went for the Sunday buffet with a few friends. Whilst the service was great the food was mediocre and only just warm , despite us being there early. It is a shame but I can understand why there were so few people there. Sorry but not for me

First time we have had an evening meal here, although we have had Sunday Lunch Buffet once before. The restaurant was extremely busy, which created a good atmosphere, the staff were very attentive, and the food was excellent 👌. To all the staff thank you and please maintain this standard!!! Food was extremely tasteless and cold. The containers were only half full and even though it was requested for the food to be made extra spicy… it was very mild and dull.

Oh dear... I should have read the reviews. I had a hankering for Friday lunch curry while working at home so I ordered online. Two hours later I got the cold food delivered. The food tasted quite nice, it was just very late and almost cold. They clearly have some issues based on the other reviews I see here. I hope they are able to fix things and wish them all the best, but I won't be using their services again 🙏🏾

Kind staff, but it's the worst asian food we had in ages. It did not look fresh, too sugary and with very little meat inside the curry.

I have a similar experience to others, it would seem... Cold food delivered late after 2 hours. Try really need to get this sorted out. The food was OK once I'd microwaved it and put the cold soggy nan bread under the grill. To be fair, the delivery company gave me a refund so I wasn't out of pocket. I wish Sakura well but I won't be using their services again 🙏🏾

Lovely food, friendly staff, they were happy to support with any requests we had to make. I would recommend to try the pistachio kulfi, my fiancé said it was worth the meal price on its own! Will definitely be coming back soon.

Since our last visit things have not changed too much here. Whilst the staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating, the food is rather below standard. The temperature of the food is rather low, despite being here practically at opening time. Selection is not vast either. The surroundings, decor and cleanliness is excellent however. Our visit this time was based on a teenager trying out Indian food for the first time, so for that purpose it was ideal. I find it a real shame that a restaurant that has good reviews doesn't keep up a similar standard of food when offering buffet food, which gives the wrong impression of what it can offer at other times?

It wasn’t really late but the food was cold. I’m finding this with all these delivery firms now you’re taking too many orders at once so by the time we get our food it’s Luke warm it really affect the enjoyment of the food. The food itself was perfect and the restaurant, is excellent

Food was delivered 35 minutes late, and the food was cold on arrival. Ordered poppadoms 67p, and I thought it would be a couple but no 1 poppadom for 67p if id known, i would have ordered more, but I'm glad i didn't as they were like rubber. Won't be going back there again.

We ordered for collection. We found the food to be competitively priced in line with other curry houses in the area. The Tikka Masala and Onion Bhaji’s were extremely tasty! Would definitely recommend.

I will never order from Sakura again, it took 1hr 30mins to deliver 2 items on a Monday evening to a location 6mins down the road! I asked them to cancel the order because it was so late & they said ‘No’ so I had no choice but to eat my dinner at 9.30pm!!

I like a mild curry but have to agree with some previous reviews that the food is very bland with no depth of flavour. My dish had one chilli next to it but there was no heat at all.

if i could give this a 0 for service i would, we booked to come here for our friends birthday and we were first told we could only have the set menu ( we had called 3 times to make sure we could have the normal a la carte menu as we were drinking too and wouldn’t be able to finish 3 courses ) he then told us if he was to give us the a la carte menu we would get charged £5 each on top ????? we then got our food, was probably the worst indian food i’ve ever had tasted too sweet to swallow and each dish tasted the exact same we then all had around 2 drinks with our meal and when the bill came i was charged £77 ?? I asked him why and how this was possible and he told me you have to just pay it, we calculated the bill and it should have been 30-35 each?? Staff were shocking and made awful comments all night, told us at the beginning to write a good review on here show them and get a feee shot (thank god i ignored them ) DON’T COME HERE!

Great restaurant, I’ve not been here for a couple of years and it’s had a refurb since. The atmosphere was great and the staff very polite and helpful in helping me choose something different to what I usually order. Drinks came very quickly and the food was piping hot and delicious, good potion size too. Lovely relaxed atmosphere would definitely come here again.

Ordered a prawn cocktail as starter. When it arrived it was hot from where it had been placed on top of hot food. The prawns were obviously frozen as some of them were still stuck together. Didn't risk eating it. Minimum about of sauce. Chicken madras had a foul after taste. Suffice to say I won't be ordering from here again

This was our first time here despite having lived in the area for 16 years and we absolutely loved this restaurant .staff are very accommodating and polite and the general decor and environment is quite plush but also welcoming. The food is very very good - I think we may have converted to here instead of our normal local curry restaurant! We had lamb chops to start followed by chicken shashlick and lamb Dansak accompanied with rice , paratha , tarka dal and it was very very good . Not over salted or over sweetened at all . Good value for money. We will return !

Everytime I order they delay the time at least once. However on this occasion it didn't arrive at all. It's a shame as I like their food but they are unreliable.
