We booked a table at the Swan at 5.30 as we were due to see that evening's performance at the Globe. You certainly can't get a more conveniently located restaurant and the views across the Thames to St. Paul's Cathedral are stunning at this time of year. So location gets two huge ticks. However, the service once we arrived didn't quite equal the venue. There is no pre-theatre menu on the website so when once was presented it was helpful but a surprise given we'd been looking at the a la carte. The question - if we order from the main menu will we still be in time for the theatre was clearly morfe complex than explaining string theory and the answer was *shrugs shoulders* We settled for the three course pre-theatre menu. The wine order was one Reisling with the starter and two glasses of white wine with the mains. You would think this would be straight forward, but it took around 5 minutes to get this understood. Even then two glasses arrived with the starters. The food was good without being outstanding. When the wine did arrive it was a short measure by 50ml which was fixed for one diner but not the second (who by this time had lost some interest). Service was slow, perfunctory and anything but unobtrusive, So much so that we removed the service charge - which might have been taken as a prompt to ask what was wrong - but it didn't. Nor did it seem to be a surprise. It's still a convenient place to eat if you're attending the Globe, but if you're not or you want consistent service levels maybe look elsewhere.

Food was good without being spectacular and the starter was warm rather than hot. I think we had a new waiter as he kept referring back to the menu when we asked him a question. We spent £450 for 4 of us which I think is a bit pricey. The drinks were about £150 of the total. The place had a nice buzz about it but not sure I'll be going back soon.

review about hostel/sleeping accomodation: horrible. intense smell of sweat, everything is run down and old, too many beds in too small of a room, not enough toilets, showers claustrophobic and nasty, staff does their very best but is understaffed, sleeping is impossible due to paper-thin walls, floor and cealing. do not recommend.

Swift service. Food as with all Prets - decent. It’s a great location, but for the love of god, they have got to stop playing the inane no-name, almost-alt pop music. I love music of all kinds. I’m not even old. But you can’t think or enjoy the atmosphere over the supermarket playlist. Please.

Just to give a big shout out to Pizza Express London Bridge for running a fantastic pizza making party for my child’s birthday yesterday. The children (and adults) all had a brilliant time, and the pizza was delicious. Definitely recommended for kids’ parties.

I wen there to eat something because it looked really beautiful from the outside and with loads of people in it. It was a nice pub but the food was disgusting. I ordered a fish and chips it was 18/20 pounds and it was so boring i almost passed out. The blandest food i ate in London by far it was sad, microwaved and lacking basically everything. As i was eating my food i heard a girl saying only the drinks were good and the food was disgusting, and she was very right. Truly disappointing.

Avoid at all costs. It says something that on TripAdvisor, and here as well many complaints mention the short manager guy who was also managing on 02/11 downstairs. We have booked a table for downstairs at 5pm, which we were not able to use until 6.30. The bouncer guys who were actually really nice were clearly embarrassed by the behaviour of the manager guy. He was aggressive and arrogant, and I had never seen a manager guy shouting with customers at the beginning of the shift. He clearly has no skills of managing a place, needs to learn manners, and how to behave with customers. We were there as a group, but I will definitely tell anyone who plans to visit this terrible place to avoid it at all costs. There are way much better and more authentic German beer places in the city. If they get rid of this rude manager, it might be improved...

Last time I was in London I really enjoyed their chai, but this time I didn’t. It seemed like a warm milkshake, no chai flavor at all. They have limited seating and the staff is friendly.

We came here with a client, swayed by the view and the menu. Food order was taken before drinks, which is odd in my mind. Starters came out and were pretty good. Mains, on the other hand, were not. My brick chicken was so salty I couldn't eat it. My colleague's lemon sole was the same. We ordered coffees and in spite of this we were asked 3 times if we'd like more drinks. It's a real shame as it looks nice and has a decent location.
