Jamboree Foodfest & Bar in Southwark

Wir waren Hotelgast und wollten nicht mehr nach draußen und haben uns dann entschieden hier zu bleiben. Die Bedienung war extrem freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen war überraschend gut und schmackhaft. Wir wären gerne wieder nochmal gegangen, aber es war der letzte Tag.

From the outside it looks rather inviting but we were quickly Disenchanted once we got the menu and the first remark made from the staff is to pay by card (as we were not staying at the Novotel). Menu is what you would call typical run-of-the-mill American-ish style menu (soup, quesadilla, burger/fries, chicken wings variety). Service was very good and fast but we arrived at the early hours of dinner service. As someone so aptly put 'an underwhelming experience'

Is what it is. Decent food that seems inconsistent, been a few times and one time it’s amazing and another time it would be bang average. Pretty reasonably priced for London. Management seem to rule their staff with an iron fist which can be awkward to watch at times.

Food was ok-ish. Some staff members were very kind, but some were pretty rough and bossy (those in charge, it seems). On the first couple of nights our teenaged children were allowed to sit at the bar to sip their mocktails, and then, on the third night, it was no longer possible because one of the higher-ups apparently had an issue with that.

Food was tasty as, service was excellent, I even ended up shazaming some of their underground christmas tunes which was fire as. Would go again for sure.

I stayed at the adjacent hotel for 3 days in Dec 2023. I had supper, breakfast and also visited a few times for drinks / apps. This is a card only place. Cash not accepted. No printed receipts were provided over the 3 days, and I was told this was due to lack of a printer. I had two separate experiences where the price I was asked to pay for an item appeared on the contactless credit terminal as 1 pound higher than the quotes price on the menu. The lack of providing a receipt would make any such mistakes difficult to identify for when one is paying for multiple items. On. Separate occasions while waiting at a table very visibly near the bar for a drink, I watched the wait staff take orders from the other 4-5 ppl in the place. I waited 10 minutes and after watching the waitstaff and presumably manager (in black suit) chit chat inside the bar, I walked up and placed my own order. Separately - the place is bright. Clean. Bathrooms are on a separate floor. Breakfast at 21 pounds / buffet seems a little pricy for what you get though is likely in keeping with the average around here. Portion sizes are on the larger size for ordered food.

Stayed here before on a previous trip to London so we thought we would try again. Disappointing is the lack of customer service from staff in dining/bar area. I’m not sure if it’s a communication issue but from what we experienced no one is really looking after any of the customers. Couldn’t see any staff keeping an eye on the patrons making sure everyone is happy with everything. I asked for a pot of tea - it is England after all. I was given an empty teapot and told to get the water from the coffee machine, just not consistent as on the previous morning it was no trouble for a staff member to deliver a pot and cups to the table. The food is what you would expect at a breakfast buffet. It’s the lack of customer service that is the issue. A disappointing experience.

Jamboree restaurant is located within the Novotel at blackfriars and stayed there for a extended period for work. The breakfast offers a wide selection and is quite nice. Staff wise some seem that they they do not want to be there and just disinterested. I must mention Sanam though who is part of the breakfast team and she really stands out. Always a big smile and very cheerful and will always put a smile on your face. She's a credit to the team. For the dinner selection, exactly what you would expect really from a hotel restaurant. Food is ok but I would say staff could do with some additional training. They always seem to congerate around the bar area and talk with colleagues and even though the restaurant doesn't ever seem to be that busy, can sometimes seem like it's a struggle if there is more than 5 tables seated. Also very difficult or impossible shall I say to make any kind of substitutions. For example I have often asked to swap out chips or mash for some fresh vegetables but they will not allow so have to buy additional on top. I would understand if I was to ask to swap out a leaf salad for fries or additional meat ( something more expensive) but not the other way round. Not expecting 5 star service by any means but some of the basics of hospitality are missing.

We had late dinner in the restaurant while we were staying at the hotel. The meal was fine and the service was quick in the restaurant.

Matthew and the team always remember our orders and names. They are totally on board with customer service and focused on you. They want to go over and above for you. Victor is an amazing, and always wants to talk about the day. Good food. Will adapt to you

This was definitely the worst place where we had food during our time in London. - No friendly welcome, despite being almost the only customers. - Head waiter came to our table, not even saying hello or anything - Food in open kitchen prepared with bare hands - I had a burger and my friend a Quesedilla. The burger meat was burned and dry, the sauce was a plain mayonnaise so the overwhelming taste of caramelized onions dominated and the bread was dull as well. The Quesedilla was completely tasteless, too. - Head waiter dissapeared so we went to the bar to pay ourselves. - Bar man did not seem to be willing to speak, did not ask us how the food was and just slided over the bill All in all: completely dissappointed and really ANYTHING ELSE would have been a better alternative. Do not go there....

Good service and food from different horizons. I took scallops and the chicken . It was well balanced taste and quick to come.

Arrived late with two tired kids and we had a lovely late night snacky. Great service and good food and now the family is happy again and ready to have a good night. Thank you, Ankit!

We came in as a family visiting from out of the country, on a busy Friday night, without a reservation. We were so hungry and tired from walking to a couple of different places which we unsuccessfully tried to get seating at. Finally ended up at our home away from home, our own hotel. Felt so comfortable and it was tasty too. Had some London favorites and an international flare. Our server Royson however was the best part of our experience. Friendly and polite and conversational. Much appreciated!

Wij geven dit maar 1 bolletje want... Eten is oké, ontbijt is voldoende maar de vibes zitten niet goed. Dit restaurant wordt gerund door pakistanesen en de smile, het sympathieke, het dynamische is helemaal zoek!!! Achter de bar een nors iemand voor wie alles teveel lijkt. Het personeel in de ochtend is om dadelijk depressief van te worden. Ze slenteren tegen hun zin door het restaurant. Geen happy "good morning", geen glimlach....echt vreselijk om de dag mee te beginnen! Het kader is eigenlijk wel best gezellig, dus er valt wat mee te doen. Maar niet met deze ploeg. Spijtig want ook het hotel moet dit anders zien en beter beheren. De service en het onthaal van het hotel is anders prima!

Food was vary nice, specially their fish and chips. Their coctails are amazing! i would come back just for their porn star martinis!

Shocking! Situated in a hotel that allows dogs but won’t allow them in even though there is a separate bar and dining area! No service! Had to get up and order drinks though there were about 5 people in there! People behind the bar rude...

Excellent meal, the fried squid was one of the best we’ve had! Royson our server was great and looked after us, all round a great meal at a reasonable price.

My experience was underwhelming. Server had some reference to jerk on his shirt but when i asked they didn’t sell anything jerk. He didn’t seem to know the menu so I felt I ordered blindly. I’d go again if I was in a big party...
