Lovely pub........ good atmosphere, great staff - super friendly and welcoming. I booked a table for 20, although around 30 turned up. Paul has been brilliant in his communication and organised my event seamlessly. Many thanks, we want to do it every month. I will be in touch. cheers x

We use the function room for our antenatal classes, and it’s the perfect setting. The room has a calm, welcoming atmosphere that’s ideal for expectant parents. It’s spacious, with comfortable seating and plenty of room for movement and group discussions. The team is incredibly helpful, always ensuring that everything is set up just the way we need. Overall, it provides a fantastic, relaxed environment for the classes, and I would highly recommend it for similar events.

Have been to the East Dulwich Tavern a couple of times over the past months. Great place that really adds to the neighbourhood! Good selection of local beers and spirits. Usually not a big beer drinker, but we were served by Jenny, who made some great recommendations regarding the beers on tap. Great to see bar staff who know their stuff! Will definetly come back.

The worst dining experience I have had in a long while. Booked to have a lovely Sunday roast. Our table was in the corner and we were trapped in as there was no room to get out once the table next to us was sat. We ordered starters and mains. The waiter even asked if we want the starters first, which we replied yes. We had our starters for less than 5 mins and our roasts arrived. We sent them back saying we wanted to enjoy the starters first. The waiter kept watching over us to see when he could deliver the mains that we watched sat on the pass for over 15 mins. No surprise that as soon as we finished the cold mains arrived, which we immediately sent back. When we received our food again, it hadn't even been attempted to be replated and looked like it had been microwaved as the gravy was now crusty around the edge, and saying that still luke warm The waiter never asked how our food was and we had no service what so ever. We wanted another drink but no one came. Perhaps because they couldn't physically get to our table with the other table blocking access. We sat with our plates for over half an hour until finally he sent someone else over as I guess we were now a problem table. We were still hungry as we didn't eat much of our cold food and were going to order a dessert but again were not offered any menus and decided to leave. We actually went up the road and had a lovely roast and dessert washed down with a nice bottle of wine. Save your money as you will be very disappointed. Plenty of better options near by.

Went for a Sunday roast a couple of weeks back with a couple of mates. I was served by Daisy; she was incredibly welcoming and was always quick to respond to our needs. Regards to the Chef as well, the food was incredible and me and my mates loved the Chef’s roast, a timeless British classic, if I do say do myself.

Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for lunch or drinks. I came with a few friends and really enjoyed the food. It was quite busy but the service was still excellent - Jenny served us and was so friendly and helped us out when one of my family needed help with dietary requirements, thanks Jenny for your help.

Wanted to try the "vegetarian burger" to appease my daughter back from university for the holidays. Was a bit dubious at first but lovely waitress Maria ensured me it's just as delicious. Pleased to say she wasn't lying! Though I will be making up for it by having two turkeys this Christmas.

Hadn’t been to the EDT in a while and have to say the service is great now. Will be back for a roast or quick pint in no time. Shout out to my guy Jordan at the bar who helped me all the way. Great man

Love this pub, but unfortunately their cask ale is consistently diabolical. The combination of having too many pumps on at any one time and staff who aren't trained to look after / don't care about pouring a good pint (cask ale pumps have long spouts for a reason!) mean that it's impossible to stay for more than one flat, cloudy and lifeless pint at a time. Particularly frustrating given this is the only CAMRA pub in East Dulwich, and a real shame because the pub itself is lovely!

I had my 50th birthday party upstairs to EDT. What a great location, great space for any occasion. The team, especially Lee and Jenni were just amazing. The cost is so affordable, food was good and service was 5*. I can not fault anything on the night. Communication at the beginning was a little slow, but we got there in the end. Highly recommend.

Usual complaint - young unskilled barmaids not focused on what should be a simple job to do well. No management!

The best pub in East Dulwich. Maybe even in the whole world if they brought back the peas for the sausage and mash.

Amazing curry house! Service was fantastic, Maz was amazing. Food was delicious and they really took care of us.

Good pub but disappointed that only one out of ten mains is vegan (none are vegetarian!). Next time we will eat elsewhere. Comedy upstairs was very good.

Its a lovely environment with fires 🔥 on and decor. Service was good, food was good. Only tea availble for a hot drink and no vegan puddings. New owners apparently and unless you look on the correct website you'll get wrong information. However we were allowed to go to the shop next door and bring in coffee and vegan cakes bought from another shop.

The carrot and the other veggies were nice. Agree with the review of Mariia from 6 months ago, very overcooked, sad Yorkshire pudding. Another member of our party found the barman rude. I think for just getting a drink and visiting it's probably fine.

The EDT is a local favourite. Old boozer charm with modern gastro pub vibes. I have never had a bad time in there ✌️🥳 Is my go to, in East Dulwich.

Great place to watch the footie and Maria serves a delicious Guinness 😋 You need to fix the soap dispenser in the women’s toilets though !

Friendly, welcoming, 7 ale taps, TVs, pub quiz. I never eat in pubs cos the prices are always too steep, but they aren't here, and the food was well-presented and delicious. Great pub.

Rude bar man. We were served the wrong drink, and when we returned it, he couldn’t believe that it was wrong. Then he blamed us for not speaking up while he was pouring it.

I had the roast which was great - this seems an odd thing to say but I had the best carrot I’ve ever had! It was delicious! Service was okay but there seems an inconsistent approach to opening a tab when having food.

Quiet place. We visited on Sunday morning and walked into the cafe.. no staff on hand.. (I guess we arrived bang on opening time).. Great quality cakes, coffee and snacks though!!!

Best pub on Lordship Lane in East Dulwich. Very good range of guest ales. Sitting areas outside on the street in the sun.

Excellent food especially the veggie sausage and mash. Pork one was great as well. Super service from Gary!

There is no garden but the music is good. The acoustics is not greater but high ceilings. I haven’t tried any food, just a late drink. Music is audible and good at times. People of all sorts.

Probably the best pub in East Dulwich. Decent selection of cask ale and draft beers/ciders. Wine selection is above average for a pub. It's quite spacious a nd they usually have sport on a big screen in the back room. Food looks ok. Gets quite busy after Dulwich Hamlet games. There is a lot of outside seating and they open up the folding walls in the summer.

Really poor service. I came in for a drink and was served by a man who didn't even bother to look at me. He poured my drink and slammed it down on the bar. I had to get some serviettes to clean the mess up he made. After sitting down with my drink he came over to some people sat opposite and just said...you didn't pay for your food. The man had paid and it was an error on the bar mans part. He didn't even apologise for his error. The bar man has zero customer service skills and was rude. People waiting to be serves and he's just wandering about calling people Bro. No idea how this man has a job there. Just to be clear the lady and other man behind the bar were really nice and friendly.

Our waitress was amazing! She came back to check on us and was extremely friendly. Suprised my friend by making his desert a birthday desert. I stumbled upon the East Dulwich Tavern recently, and it's become my go-to spot in the neighborhood. The pub food is a real treat – love the modern British twist and the fact that they use fresh, seasonal ingredients. Don't even get me started on their Sunday roasts; they're a game-changer. The Lodge upstairs is a hidden gem for private events, and the whole place just feels like a warm, local hangout. Highly recommend for a laid-back, enjoyable time in East Dulwich.

We stumbled upon this pub on a rainy day, really liked the decor and ambience. Staff was friendly.

First time in here ( after driving past it many times over the years!). Nice pub and the food looks good but the beer was a little uninspiring and flat. Rosie's Cloudy Tropical cider was nice though!👍🙂

Such pleasant bar staff. Really enjoyed "an oul pint" of ale here with a couple of pals on a Saturday afternoon having taken in the local charity shops. The food looked great 😃. Pets allowed. Eclectic mix of decor and really a nice atmosphere.

I often meet local friends in this bar. It follows the gastropub formula, Sunday roasts, wood floor, lots of craft beers, but does it well. Handily positioned right at the top of Lordship Lane. On a sunny Friday afternoon the crowd was mostly builders and WFH types who'd knocked off early. The service was fast, prices are what you'd expect, so a couple of pints and we moved on.

The only one comment that they were working very hard, would be nice if they would have some help.but I understand times are tough, but little help at busy times could probably speed up the sale. But that's more like advice rather than a critic.

The area here is very well catered for with a great selection of nice pubs with out-door seating. This is one of them. A great place to meet with friends, or just tonsit with a book and sip a pint. Lovely staff, great drinks, and good food for those who want some.

A good local boozer with lots of seating both inside and out, screens for watching sport (but thankfully they don't dominate), and good beer. A pint of Volden on cask for just £3.50 when I visited in May 2023 - unbeatable!
