Served by the incredibly hard working young blonde lady with the headband Jennifer! She dealt with my order from beginning to end and I couldn’t say I’ve ever had such fast service a truly hardworking team player!

Weirdly quiet for Mothers' Day, so not wildly atmospheric. Like the re-dec, very well achieved. the Holy Trinity of beef-spuds-Yorkshire very good, as were the veg. Didn't like the cauli. cheese, bland, gloopy, no cheese, or the stuffing-in-a-roll. Bar staff couldn't get two cocktails out in time, which was a pisser (these were aperitifs, not to accompany the roast...) but your front of house staff dealt with the situation IMMACULATELY, so chapeau them - brilliant job, brilliant attitude. Didn't get names, but they were over and above.

We were relieved to find that the brewery renovation of our favourite local had been done quite sensitively. It’s also nice to have the large lounge bar newly open upstairs. The Sunday roasts (we had the beef and the veggie Wellington) were delicious tho pretty pricey. Service in the eating section was great (tho a little less so in the upstairs bar). Music was decent but was somewhat at odds with the sounds of screaming babies and toddlers which we never would have found in the old incarnation of the pub. (We are hoping this might have been particular to Sunday lunchtime). In summary, the pub all feels a bit clean and spanking new right now: perhaps it’s trying too hard to appeal to all groups of locals and we miss the authentic edge of the original. However, it’s early days and things might improve when it finds its niche.

Service was excellent. Roast was very good, although we ordered more roast potatoes as 3 is just not enough if you’re super hungry for a roast potatoes. Will definitely be back. Molly who served us was very friendly and efficient.

Had a private party upstairs at the newly refurbished EDT last night. Great venue and attentive staff. A special shout out to Maria and Jamal.

My friends and I had a great night at the EDT last Thursday enjoying the atmosphere, drinks and food. I should like to single out one of the waitresses - Daisy Barton, who was specially delightful. She had a constant smile when she took our orders and nothing was too much trouble. She had the best personality and you are lucky to have someone like this working for you. We shall return again and hopefully she will be working and again we will have the most personable and friendly service with a smile. Thanks Daisy for adding to our already fabulous evening.

Really good selection of vegetarian starters and ours was delicious. Only one veggie main (a burger) and it was a bit bland and unimaginative. Delicious sticky toffee pudding to finish. Service was really good and super friendly. Would come again, especially if a bit more variety for vegetarians.

I'm a long time fan of the pub for popping in for a drink or two, but only ate here for the first time recently, and was very pleasantly surprised. I don't know if the menu is rotating, but the ham hock and squash starters were top notch. I'll be popping back on a lazy Sunday to see what's cracking

Came here with some friends and had an amazing night out! Chicken snitzel was yummy and toffee pudding amazeeee. Sauv B also gorg and staff so lovely

Good pub food, great beer, excellent friendly staff and a recent refurb that retains the original pub vibe but with more comfort and style. We were a big group of 8 adults and two kids in high chairs who enjoyed Sunday lunch today.

Appetizers are as generous as the staff. The roasted pumpkin was delicious and the plant burger hit the spot. Fantastic atmosphere was the cherry on top. We were greeted warmly by, I think her name was Lizzie. She was very nice along with the rest of the staff. Good selection of beers and wine as well. Refurb was tastefully done!

I'd only been here once before last night and really enjoyed it a year or so ago.... but now! Wow the transformation of this beautiful pub is something else! And the staff are so proud of it (quite rightly) myself and a couple of friends only popped in for a quick end of night drink but we could've stayed all night (next time we will!) I highly recommend a visit, and when you do, definitely pop upstairs! Keep up the great work and I look forward to popping by again soon.

Fantastic refurb of a great pub. Great decor and atmos. Staff were friendly and service was good. I had the fish and chips and the batter was light and crispy, good selection of wines. Strong recommend.

We use the function room for our antenatal classes, and it’s the perfect setting. The room has a calm, welcoming atmosphere that’s ideal for expectant parents. It’s spacious, with comfortable seating and plenty of room for movement and group discussions. The team is incredibly helpful, always ensuring that everything is set up just the way we need. Overall, it provides a fantastic, relaxed environment for the classes, and I would highly recommend it for similar events.

The worst dining experience I have had in a long while. Booked to have a lovely Sunday roast. Our table was in the corner and we were trapped in as there was no room to get out once the table next to us was sat. We ordered starters and mains. The waiter even asked if we want the starters first, which we replied yes. We had our starters for less than 5 mins and our roasts arrived. We sent them back saying we wanted to enjoy the starters first. The waiter kept watching over us to see when he could deliver the mains that we watched sat on the pass for over 15 mins. No surprise that as soon as we finished the cold mains arrived, which we immediately sent back. When we received our food again, it hadn't even been attempted to be replated and looked like it had been microwaved as the gravy was now crusty around the edge, and saying that still luke warm The waiter never asked how our food was and we had no service what so ever. We wanted another drink but no one came. Perhaps because they couldn't physically get to our table with the other table blocking access. We sat with our plates for over half an hour until finally he sent someone else over as I guess we were now a problem table. We were still hungry as we didn't eat much of our cold food and were going to order a dessert but again were not offered any menus and decided to leave. We actually went up the road and had a lovely roast and dessert washed down with a nice bottle of wine. Save your money as you will be very disappointed. Plenty of better options near by.

Have been to the East Dulwich Tavern a couple of times over the past months. Great place that really adds to the neighbourhood! Good selection of local beers and spirits. Usually not a big beer drinker, but we were served by Jenny, who made some great recommendations regarding the beers on tap. Great to see bar staff who know their stuff! Will definetly come back.

Went for a Sunday roast a couple of weeks back with a couple of mates. I was served by Daisy; she was incredibly welcoming and was always quick to respond to our needs. Regards to the Chef as well, the food was incredible and me and my mates loved the Chef’s roast, a timeless British classic, if I do say do myself.

Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for lunch or drinks. I came with a few friends and really enjoyed the food. It was quite busy but the service was still excellent - Jenny served us and was so friendly and helped us out when one of my family needed help with dietary requirements, thanks Jenny for your help.

Wanted to try the "vegetarian burger" to appease my daughter back from university for the holidays. Was a bit dubious at first but lovely waitress Maria ensured me it's just as delicious. Pleased to say she wasn't lying! Though I will be making up for it by having two turkeys this Christmas.

Love this pub, but unfortunately their cask ale is consistently diabolical. The combination of having too many pumps on at any one time and staff who aren't trained to look after / don't care about pouring a good pint (cask ale pumps have long spouts for a reason!) mean that it's impossible to stay for more than one flat, cloudy and lifeless pint at a time. Particularly frustrating given this is the only CAMRA pub in East Dulwich, and a real shame because the pub itself is lovely!

I had my 50th birthday party upstairs to EDT. What a great location, great space for any occasion. The team, especially Lee and Jenni were just amazing. The cost is so affordable, food was good and service was 5*. I can not fault anything on the night. Communication at the beginning was a little slow, but we got there in the end. Highly recommend.

Usual complaint - young unskilled barmaids not focused on what should be a simple job to do well. No management!

Good pub but disappointed that only one out of ten mains is vegan (none are vegetarian!). Next time we will eat elsewhere. Comedy upstairs was very good.

Its a lovely environment with fires 🔥 on and decor. Service was good, food was good. Only tea availble for a hot drink and no vegan puddings. New owners apparently and unless you look on the correct website you'll get wrong information. However we were allowed to go to the shop next door and bring in coffee and vegan cakes bought from another shop.

Good selection on tap, varied food menu, friendly service. A local hotspot.
