Rude behaviour when i just asked for differend type of vodka.

Pub interior was quite nice but the service was quite poor. Staff were not very friendly and I don’t think I saw them smile once. I saw one staff member pouring a pint for a patron and it looked awful, kept shaking excess off instead of giving him a good pint which the price deserves! Overall, ok place but staff need to shape up in my opinion.

We didn’t stay in the hostel but we did visit for a pub night until late. Live music was awesome and had the place packed until at least 1am. The party vibe was excellent all evening and the drinks went down well. I’ve been here a few times and I loved it each time.

Fantastic location in the heart of London! The staff were friendly and helpful, the beer was quite good and so was breakfast, the rooms were nice, and the stay was an overall enjoyable one. Just don't make the same mistake I did - the reception area is in the bar area so make sure there aren't any matches on when you go to check-in or you may have to wait a while as staff will think you're just one of the many people trying to grab a pint. Can't blame them for it though!

An ok pub in an area that has some beautiful ones. Ambience is lacking with very basic space. Ordered some pies for lunch which were average. Mashed potatoes were flat. I’d go to another one. They seem to do good business for the inn as quite a few people were checking in while we were there.

Staff: AWESOME! Special mention for Eve & Blake - super helpful & outgoing. Great location & pub and hostel are great for vibes and cleanliness. One future hope would be a fridge &/or microwave for hostel guests to use when on a tight budget! Will be back to check ;)

My review is to the pub. Very rude bouncers, particularly one guy. I will post his picture because he pushed my friend and my friend dropped his beer, we called the manager and he ignored us. Another bouncer apologised for his colleague's behaviour, he was the only nice person in that pub.

Welcoming, polite and helpful staff. We were however disappointed with the Sunday Roast. - The food was covered in gravy, when we were expecting that as per usual the gravy would be served in a jar and each person would use it as it pleased. Also, the taste of gravy was quite blend. - I believed that parsnips was a common presence in a Sunday Roast, but unfortunately they were not part of this (the person serving said they "had no idea" if parsnip was included or not) - We had Sunday Roast to share but no cutlery was provided in the trays to serve the food for each plate, so we had to use the normal forks & knifes to bring the food from the trays to the plates. Once again the staff was nice, but I hope the food quality improves.

Location was a key factor for choosing this location. I will say the toilet 🚽 ratio to dorm rooms 1/8 was bad. I didn’t get to shower and had to see a girl puke outside corridor trash. Breakfast no real coffee and signs with promotion for breakfast were out of date. With the live music didn’t seem to make social vibe for your stay. No place to chill around in the morning or evening if your not having a pint. I want a social scene but was not happy with the way Hostel worked. It’s bar with beds to sleep above. Cheap yes. But not a social place. Beds were fine. Been to hostels in various continents probably this was one of the worst for social city encounters. As I did not expect a restful place but a least to put my feet up after walking 10k around town. The bar was not that area.

I still want to come back and knock the bouncers head in and the manager that was on duty that night

Popped in for a quick bite. Beers were good, and cold. Fish n chips hot and fresh. We did not stay in the rooms, but if you do 10% discount on food.

The staff here are so incompetent it’s actually kind of impressive. My friend drank too much, which is totally his own fault. However, we had to beg two different bar staff for some tap water so we could help him sober up, even offering our own water bottles to refill, and they just declined. I don’t think they are intelligent enough to turn on a tap. Helping out drunk customers is a basic part of running a bar and these morons did not get it at all. Whilst we were trying to convince them to give us some tap water, a bouncer came over and tried to make us remove him - he could not be moved, hence why we were trying to give him water. I asked the bouncer what he would like me to do, if I should pick up a man twice my size and somehow carry him out - he looked like he didn’t understand the question. One other bouncer who was young and south east Asian was helpful and kind, he got some water for us and is clearly the only person working there with any sense. If you plan to open your own bar, come here to understand how not to do things. I’m impressed these people have survived so long when they are so stupid. This bar is a total embarrassment.

This pub has discriminatory security staff towards peoples' appearances. Not an inclusive pub. We were having a good evening until we decided to leave because our friend who tried to join us later in the evening was told they couldn't come in without reason. There was no other reason to not let them in, and security were letting other people in. It was clear this our friend wasn't able to enter due to their "different" look. Very disappointing and unacceptable behaviour. Won't be going back!

The cliche of pathetic men who work in pubs to feel powerful over customers is rife here. Avoid. There are so many better places to eat and drink in around Borough and London Bridge.

This pub is situated in a buzzing part of Southwark. The staff are really friendly and the pub has a lovely atmosphere. Food looked good (we didn’t eat there) but saw other customers eating. Lovely courtyard to sit in looking out into the toad on a hot September Sunday, and watch the world go by. This pub also is a youth hostel.

Despite booking in advance over a week before they told us they’d ran out of food when we arrived. Very disappointed ☹️ ☹️ ☹️ ☹️

Two guys, late 50s, business casual and smart casual, one wearing a peaked cap arrived at the pub and were warmly ushered in by the black bouncer. Ordered drinks and food and consumed both. Ordered one more drink and were near the end of that when the new Indian security guard came over and insisted that the guy wearing the cap remove it. No explanation. It just had to be removed. He’d been wearing it the full evening. He was the only black man in the pub. Go figure. Suggest you avoid this place if that seems racist to you.

Fantastic happy hour, 2 for 1 cocktails. We had Margaritas and they were delicious. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

The “bouncers” on the door of this pub are simply the 2 most disgusting people I’ve ever witnessed or had the discourtesy of encountering. A short one with no licensing armband but an imitation warrant card dangling from his jacket alongside a switched off camera. The tall, arrogant pal of his had a band but wouldn’t show it and when asked why they aren’t showing they said “listen if you’re police f*** the Met, scum” The short one simply wanted to fight; marching in after last orders blowing a whistle and shouting at people to move. I witnessed the tall one demand to know why a girl they refused entry to felt she (she was about 23) had the right to plead as if he begged her for anything, in todays world it would be inappropriate but she feels she has the right. What?! As we were getting up to leave, what had been a nice hour or so inside the smelly pub, singing to the decent live band, the short one was just about to physically remove me because I asked why he had a police warrant card and no licensing band - apparently engaging in physical assault is the appropriate response to a question. Quite literally: “guys come on get out now” “Why do you have a police warrant badge hanging from your jacket?” “Are you f*****g police?” I watched them scream and shout whilst speaking to patrons like absolute filth. Horrified is an understatement. For context I also was not drunk, acting in any loud or over the top way having decided to have a drink with a former work colleague from 20 years ago at an industry excellence awards ceremony we were part of. This was simply the door staff attempting to aggressively empty a pub the very moment the bar closed. I have made sure the very first thing I do is report this pub to licensing for the practice and behaviour of their door staff

Bouncer kicked multiple people from our group out for absolutely no reason with no explanation. Then wouldn't let us back in to get our belongings without us threatening to call the police

I went into this pub on a Saturday afternoon as it had a big screen inside and asked if we could watch the grand National and the staff were happy to help, we also asked if we could have the sound up, and they also agreed, by having the sound up lots of passing customers came in to watch the race and the pub became almost empty to half full, so everyone was happy 😃

I went to this pub after work with my wife and dog- we were sat outside and everything was fine, but it got a little chilly so we went inside. We were aggressively told by the bouncer that dogs weren't allowed inside. Absolutely fine to inform us, but an utterly unreasonable way to interact with other people. We packed up and went to The George. To management, if you bother to read this- just because you are in a prime location and you have a hostel attached, you should always prioritise customer service. You currently don't and by that measure, you deserve to fail.

Went here as part of a post office party (you’d think they’d welcome the business). The bouncers were rude, aggressive and unwelcoming randomly refusing entry to some people in our group even though an area had been reserved. When it was pointed out to the manager that an area had been booked and people in our group were being randomly refused entry he couldn’t care less and his response was to call security! This pub really sums up everything I loathe about London and the awful customer service we’ve grown used to putting up with.

I regularly come to St Christopher’s and have always had a wonderful time. However, tonight I had an issue with being overcharged during happy hour due to a misrepresentation that single G&T’s were in happy hour. My friend and I spoke to staff who were kind and accommodating until the assistant general manager, Alessandro intervened and stated ‘we do not do refunds’ to then correct himself and say ‘we do refunds but you have to pay for a double’ which makes no sense considering the situation. He then insisted If I’m refunded I have to repay, I replied that the kind staff had already sorted my request and I accepted the offer given to me for the error. He again refused, proceeded to talk to the other bar tenders in a unnecessarily harsh manner and asked me who took my original order, when I said I wasn’t sure as I did not want anyone to get into trouble, he said ‘without knowing who we can’t offer anything to you.’ Alessandro subsequently stormed off and when I said to him what is your position he replied, ‘I am not speaking to you’ before I’d even finished my question. A number of staff subsequently apologised to me and very kindly still progressed with sorting the issue. Alessandro returned and went round telling all staff to only do double G&T’s in happy hour and to change the signs. This isn’t the first incident my friends and I have experienced at the Christopher, previously my friend, who is allergic to dairy ordered the vegan pizza but received one with regular cheese on. This was quickly identified and the pizza was replaced with apologies given and very kindly we were offered a round of drinks from the waiter. I dread to think what would have happened if Alessandro was working that night and the reaction we would of got. I do want to commend the other members of staff who helped me and my friend, Nicki is one who was very kind. I must also thank the general manager for kindly speaking to me about the incident after. It is a shame that one member of staff let the team down.

The bar was initially pleasant. That said, we found the DJ quite stale and when we requested songs we found he’s like some folk and not us. Showed clear favouritism If you bought him a drink… but the staff were lovely.. would Return if a certain change

Went to walk in to enjoy some live music and was turned away because it was too busy. The place was empty and as we walked off the bouncer then proceeded to let others, of other ethnic origin similar to his own, in. When politely questioned, he was rude and abusive to the point that we did not even want to be in there. It was clear that even his colleagues were embarrassed by his behaviour. A huge shame as we just wanted to enjoy some live music but, seemingly, our faces did not fit… crazy in the world we live in today!

The live music is great, and once inside it has a really fun atmosphere, but wow the bouncers are horrible! Needlessly aggressive and unpleasant, demeaning towards women, totally kills the vibe. Will not be returning purely so that I never have to see them again - traumatising!

So it was Australia Day and one of my colleagues is Australian so we saw this pub was doing a deal for a parmi burger and a pint for £10 and wanted to check it out and help her feel more at home in London We walk in and get ignored, which is weird but is what it is go sit at a table and there’s no information on the Australian day deal they have advertised out front so we go up to the bar. There were at least 5 people working behind the bar but we didn’t get served for a good 5/6 mins, the pub wasn’t busy… someone finally comes over to us, clearly she’s new to the team and probably hasn’t worked in a pub before which is fine we’re not dicks, we ask about the deal and she has no idea what “Australian Day is” the pub literally has balloons and Australian flags all over the place and just stared at us as we asked again what’s in the parmi burger. We then asked if she could go and get someone who knew maybe a manager or something - she then disappears for another 5 mins and wonders about and just stands behind the bar, not one other person serving comes up to us to help. She finally came back and again said, “I have no idea what it is” and gets the menu of the burgers and tries to go through it but we explained the deal we saw isn’t on the menu. She then disappears again never to be seen, meanwhile several people who work there walk passed us and just do not acknowledge our existence. We then walked out and went to a different pub Won’t go back.. pretty bad experience all in all

You have a pub downstairs and play music untill 2 am, the room are small. The cleaning was ok. You don't have a place to hangout just the bar downstairs, not social interaction with another travelers. The breakfast is little poor for be a Continental....

Enjoyed the beer and great staff when here for Sunday lunch recently but disappointed with the main event - the roast beef. It was cut too thick and was therefore a little tough which spoilt the experience. Cut more thinly it would have been fine....

Pasé a tomar una copa con mi amigo mientras hacía un poco de trabajo. We started coming here years ago and it has changed a bit since then. They used to have more less commercial and niche beers available so would be a good destination place for a session trying different beers. Now it’s more geared at the volume beers so it’s less of a place that I’d seek out.We come now because it’s conveniently located to the tube and train stations. The atmosphere is good although when we last came the live music was super loud. We had to shout at each other by the bed to be heard and went elsewhere. We booked a table for food and when you have a tastecard you are given a more limited menu. There should still be something to suit most people. The burgers were pretty good but the chicken Milanese and the sausage and mash were average. Its a shame considering the area is famed for food and fresh produce and there are lots of places in competition with each other. The bill was split into 4 although we wanted to pay in one payment. The waitress couldn’t change it so had to come back 4 times for payment as it was easier than having us stand at the bar whilst they all went through. Unless someone wanted to come back here specifically I’d go elsewhere when back in the Borough area.

We were looking for a London location for a joint hen and stag for about 35 people. The cost came in at £15 a person including buffet. We were delighted to find when we got there they had decorated with confetti and balloons. The room is narrow but worked with a range of tables and chairs. It was super busy on a Saturday night upstairs in the bar, but the staff could not have been more helpful.

The location of the hostel is great, very close to London Bridge. You may visit London city by even walking short distances. The dorms were clean so as the facilities. There is always a party going on downstairs in the pub.

Is a cozzy and friendly bar and inns.. pack worh backpackers around the globe. The bar is cozzy with drinks and music. 5min walk to a cafe ( cottage chicken) if you want a midnight food. Nearby to A tube ( London brigade station).

St Christopher’s Inn is a pub on Borough High Street in one of London’s more bustling areas. The pub has a late licence which means a late closing kitchen as well. Unfortunately the food is terrible and the range of drinks a little uninspiring.St Christopher’s is far from the only pub of its name. This one is on Borough High Street not far from Southwark Street. From the outside it is a relatively unattractive combination of cream and some green which doesn’t really work too well. Inside it is relatively unadorned and not especially appealing. It appears to be a relatively low end pub.There are two levels. The upper is the main bar area and of a Sunday night is quite hard to navigate. The steps down are fine but the fairly narrow lower floor is also not that great.There are some fairly large screens including one in front of a lounging area with sofas which seems pretty good. The quality of the image is easily good enough.Service is not bad. Dedicated servers for an area are around. Completely missing the point of personal interactions in trying to amplify the customer experience but their existence is a good thing. The drinks options were basic at best. Not much to recommend from the selection with a focus on mainstream and bland, largely water-flavored beers.Food unfortunately was terrible. Burgers just about went down. The veggie burger was horrible. It was almost inedible. Probably one of the worst pub veggie burgers around. It just had a strange and unpleasant flavor that did not at all endear itself. The accompanying chips were ok but hands were not exactly reaching for them.The appalling food and average at best drinks selection combined with this not being a particularly appealing pub makes it hard to recommend St Christopher’s. The late licence and late closing kitchen are its main appeal.

The facilities which they have updated on the booking details was not there. They told that there is shared kitchen area but that was not there at all.

Overall it was fine stay for one night. The rooms and washroom were clean and as shown in the website. The breakfast was nice. I spent good time in the bar and there was discount on drinks which was nice.

The bouncers are extremely rude. They told us there was no space in the pub and that the three of us would “never” be allowed in, even though three people had left in the time that we’d been queueing. A group of five (obviously drunk) people arrived and they were allowed in before us apparently for no reason other than to make a point. There seems to be a power/authority problem amongst the bouncers and we will not be returning to this establishment.

Great place for Christmas Party! Private room nicely decorated, nice food and lovely staff. They even provide a disposable camera to remember your great evening with your friends and colleagues.

Came here with some friends in the evening on friday, got some sharing platters and pizzas. Food tasted so fresh I would definitely eat here again! We stayed for live music which stayed at 8.30 and we really enjoyed the vibes! Would definitely recommend!

POOR/NO service! Popped in here today for a drink! Many people waiting to be served! Nobody serving? I girl on lap top and another plumping cushions totally ignoring customers! Waited 15 minutes and left.....pathetic!!!!!!!!

Mi amigo y yo pasamos 1 noche en Londres y nos echaron del albergue porque éramos demasiado jóvenes. Esto es estúpido, así que dos adolescentes de 16 años fueron arrojados a la calle y nos llevó 7 horas encontrar otro lugar que nos llevara. Así que tuvimos que caminar por todo Londres para encontrar un lugar donde quedarnos. Si tienes niños pequeños o adolescentes. No los envíes aquí. ¡Es una pérdida de tiempo y dinero! ! ¡Yo no recomiendo este lugar!

Arrived there for lunch, the place was empty, two staff on, one occupied the other swanning about looking for attention and avoiding eye contact. After trying to attract their attention to place an order, gave up and went across the road. Why bother, how do they get away with it, poor management??

Vegetables where awesome, chicken average, pot roast was below average, gravy was great. Service was mediocre. I loved the concept but it was just an average meal

After asking the bartender about the table we reserved we were taken and asked to wait but we sat ourselves after 3 minutes. A good 5-6 minutes later a waitress came to see us and asked if we were being served in a very polite and nice way, which we answered we weren’t and she immediately took our order as we knew what we wanted. She gave us good advice about what to order according to the fact that we were not that hungry. The food arrived at the table quite quickly (it seems that we were the only ones in the restaurant) and it was exactly what you would expect for a good burger. It comes with chunky chips and they were perfectly cook with a very good vegan mayo. The burger itself was amazing. Delicious bun and fresh salad. Would recommend the place!

I visited the st Christopher inn at Borough at lunchtime on May 24th 2019. I regularly visited this pub at lunchtime during weekly visits to my osteopath in London.

This place takes a Tastecard so represents decent value - although the beer is a little expensive.

I regularly go to st Christopher’s for a Sunday roast and highly recommend it. Service is quick, staff are friendly and the food is great value for London. Great for couples and groups.

Mi compañero y yo encontramos la posada de la calle Christoper a través de la aplicación Gourmet Society, que ofrece ofertas de comida en Londres. Estaba bastante deteriorado, pero tiene sus encantos y por lo general los lugares allí son de buena calidad.

We were here 23rd of feb... what a brilliant night. We only used the main bar no food or lodgings. Singer was also awesome

Looking at the last date of review it appears this place has changed somewhat?

Well used pub that offers good food at reasonable prices. A small menu, with popular choices. The food was lovely and hot and well cooked.

Siamo stati in questo locale per bere una birra e mangiare qualcosa a pranzo. Abbiamo trovato un locale tranquillo con molte ottime birre, i piatti anche molto buoni. Insomma un tipico Pub inglese. Abbiamo scoperto che il pub è anche Hotel e quindi un'ottima scelta per chi non vuole muoversi più di tanto...Prezzi buoni.

Went in Friday around 7pm was reasonably busy but not packed like many pubs in borough market.delighted to see fosters on tap rather than the rip off craft beers that dominate the area.

Finally, after over a year, we got the opportunity to get to St Christopher's. They're the hostel that got evacuated after the London Bridge tragedy ... and they kept all they're guests together and safe - and that included our son. We got back to thank them in person.

I always go to St. Cristopher after work with my colleagues and I have to say I just love it! After a long shift is just what I need! Staff is so friendly and especially Karl is a star! He is always smiling and helping us with every request! I would definitely recommend the place!

Went for a night cap with some friends and had a nice first round of G&Ts; in a nice set of glasses with nice tonic. Second round - small glasses, cheap tonic and we could not taste the gin! After complaining and the manager not believing us - finally got an additional pour - still could not taste. Only one conclusion - it’s water!

I would like to commend the quality of service and food on show at the pub yesterday. The waiter was polite and fulfilled all requests when our daughter was being a bit picky regarding the food. A good dine out all round and much thanks to Kahn for looking after us.
