We recently held our Christmas party at the FoundersArms, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. Our group of around 35 people was warmly welcomed, and the atmosphere was perfect for a festive gathering. The staff went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, and a special mention must go to our server, Melsi. He was incredibly helpful, attentive, and accommodating, ensuring everyone in our group felt well taken care of. The food and drinks were excellent, and the overall service was outstanding. It’s not easy to manage such a large group, but the team here did so effortlessly. Thank you for making our Christmas party so enjoyable! We would definitely recommend this venue for any group event or celebration.

We celebrate our 40th anniversary, and the experience was truly unforgettable. Despite it being a busy Sunday lunchtime, the team provided exceptional service, with a special mention to Malcolm. He went out of his way to make our day memorable, surprising us with champagne waiting at our table—a thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the steak, which was cooked to perfection, and my fiancée enjoyed the gnocchi, which she said was fantastic. The combination of the beautiful riverside setting, the warm and friendly atmosphere, and the outstanding service made our anniversary celebration perfect. Thank you to Malcolm and the entire team at the Foundairs Arms for making this special occasion even more memorable.

Didn’t have anything to eat but if you’re looking to have a couple of pints with a good lake view in the middle of the city, this is the place !

The most disappointing blt of my life, only more disappointing by the views (they’re fine) and the upcharge for the chips almost triple what the menu said. Service was fine. Get a beer a drink by the Thames and save yourself the pounds.

Really slow bar service. One bartender trying to hold the fort. Staff all looked stressed. Terrace is probably nice in the summer, other than that no much to recommend it.

The Server Lou-Leon was fabulous and a credit to the team. The Haddock and Chips was poor however and had obviously been left on the pass for a long time, indicating that food is not cooked fresh to order as advertised.

We have eaten in this pub a couple of times before and everything has been great! I ordered the roast chicken and was most surprised to find the chicken underdone and leaking red juices across my plate. the rest of the food was nice but I felt slightly uncomfortable after the chicken.

Perfect, casual dinner on the Thames. Had a delicious veggie burger with yummy fries. What made the experience memorable was the genuine kindness, warmth and care from staff member Lou-Lou who made me feel like a VIP from the moment I stepped inside. She is a STAR!

Tried 3 times to buy a drink. Misinformed twice. Totally ignored by 3 bar staff who were too ‘busy’ chatting to each other to serve a drink, despite the place being almost empty. Told to sit down and wait for table service. Waited 20 minutes. Nothing. Tried again - only then told we had to download an app and order online. Pathetic - infuriatingly poor service. Unfriendly, unhelpful and inefficient. Dreadful. Avoid at all costs. Plenty of decent pubs in London. Don’t waste your time and money here ( although as it seems impossible to actually buy a drink, I guess it’s hard to waste much money!). My advice - just go somewhere else. This is not representative of the generally good service one gets in London.

Service charge on our bill yet no service given? Flat pints and the guy behind the bar laughed at me when I asked for a takeaway box. Overall quite an uncomfortable experience, wouldn't go back.

We went yesterday (group of 12) for a roast lunch. It was awesome! Food very tasty, excellent service by Lea who looked after us really well. Lea offered lots of colouring for the children and was so diligent with us all. Thanks again! We would definitely return.

Booked this for a pre-Globe early dinner. Great location by the river as the sun went down and the lights of the City twinkled and about 5 mins walk from The Globe. Service good and efficient. Small issue with order mistake quickly rectified. Food tasty - fish and chips very good. On the downside - it was a busy Friday night and with few soft furnishings, it was very noisy making conversation a tad difficult.

Lovely evening, Lou-Lou was the best host and also had a surprisingly good voice. To improve the atmosphere, dim the lights and turn down the music - let Lou-Lou take centre stage.

Great place to have lunch if you are visiting Tate Modern. Wonderful riverside views across to St Pauls and the City. Friendly and efficient service. Good, higher-end pub menu. We enjoyed our visit.

Just plain average, could be better food, could be cleaner, could be better service. Not horrible, not amazing, just stock standard. No wow factor apart from the location. Which puts the prices up. Way better options in London Town.

Some great open seating and casual vibes with amazing food and drink options. It's y the water, and a short walk from The Globe, so the ambience is to die for, post-show, with a stacked menu and great hosts. Do not skip on the roasts or the fish and chips

Our Sunday roast took over an hour to arrive from ordering. We had pre booked the table and this was not communicated to us that there would be such a long wait when we arrived. Other diners all experienced the same wait. When the food did arrive it was cold. Waitress apologised for the long wait time at the end of the meal but too little too late. Disappointing as this place is usually great!

Friendly greeting as we entered the premises. Our food and drinks orders were taken swiftly. All the staff were lovely and very helpful. The food was amazing - huge portions and very very tasty. So good we came back for brunch the following day

Lou-Lou is an absolute angel. She effortlessly managed our reservation…which others had joined without letting me know. I was mortified but she let me know it’s alright and was able to accommodate without any issue. An absolute star all around. Hope Founders Arms know what a great person they have on staff with her x

Been coming here for many years but for the past 6 months the service has been shocking, in fact on the previous occasion I simply gave up trying to order after 10 minutes waiting at the bar. There are plenty of staff on duty and they are a nice enough bunch but clearly they lack training or are in need of management.

We had lunch here on our way to Shakespeare's Globe Theater and it was a short walk from the Blackfriars underground station. The restaurant was lively around noon time and the view of the Thames was a nice treat. Service was very attentive though there was a little confusion as 3 different servers were taking care of us. The food was not the best but it was good; the menu had a nice variety and the prices were reasonable. Considering that Founder's Arms sits on a very prime location, with great views, it's a good value and I would definitely return.

This is a great British gastro pub right on the South Bank of the river Thames with great views of the London skyline and St Peter's Cathedral from the nice outdoor seating. I ordered a squash soup and the chicken pot pie that hit the spot after a long day of travel. They also have a nice selection of beers on tap. Highly recommended.

The store is clean and bright! Best location✨ We enjoyed a delicious beer while enjoying the view of the River Thames. It's a popular restaurant, so if you have a large group, you may have to wait for a seat.

First time in a long time l could say my dinner was a total failure unlike my guest. The atmosphere and the views made it up in some way though. To begin, apple juice wasn't apple juice, tasted just like apple flavoured water, completely filled with ice. Starter was missed. We were served main meals. I have ordered beetroot/ chestnut mushroom wellington. Was served completely unrelated, looking or tasting meal, seemed like pie with spinach greens filling. Did not want to upset myself further. I have eaten it. Tasted very bland even with a gravy. Looked microwaved just like my desert, Apple crumble. Apple jam was sickly sweet, cinnamon taste was overwhelming. Crumbs on top did not taste like crumbs. Custard was lumpy.

Beautiful pub with great views in a great location. The food smelt and looked amazing so I’d love to try it the next time I’m in the area! The only thing letting them down is the service - I stood at the bar for a long time getting ignored while others came after me and were served before me. When I ordered (literally 2 pints), the man serving me looked like I’d just asked him to make me a three course meal! Rolled his eyes and sighed.

Great tasty food, if a bit pricey for a pub! Amazing views across the Thames and good choice of wine. What let it down was the service - not exactly rude but not friendly either. The staff serving the tables just didn’t seem to care! Our wine was not opened or poured. When I requested the bill I was simply presented with a card machine on top of the paper tab — no smile and no one ever asked if the food was ok (it was lovely, but no one cared!)

Best food experience in London on our visit. Gluten (and wheat) free fish/chips was the best of the city. Every item was perfect temp, taste and texture. Lou Lou was the perfect server - drinks never empty and table cleared of dishes without being obtrusive at all. Lou Lou also captured our 18 month old granddaughter’s attention and made a fast friend. Thank you so much for such a fabulous dining experience.

Lou Lou was incredible. The food was absolutely delicious - one of the best meals we had here. The gluten free accommodations are also impressive. Get the GF fish and chips!

Absolutely stunning!! We got here just the day they mentioned they changed the menu and although we weren’t there before, the food was just amazing! Beef was super tender and flavourful and potatoes were crispy and fully baked On layers with a nice smooth cream!!! We went with 2 pints, two mains (stews) and an entry (bread was crunchy warm and of good portion, not the typical toast). ( staff also asked ahead of time if we had any allergies) And of course the view was the cherry on top! Staff were so friendly and nice! If I were to live here I would bring everyone I know to visit! Worth every penny! Chef, kitchen staff and managers should be proud!

Lou Lou took amazing care of us with her bubbly personality and good recommendations. We both had the fish and chips, which was haddock and super tasty. Never had mashed peas before, but they were a nice addition, as well as the curry dipping sauce.

The Founders Arms is conveniently located along the Thames but with not much of a view across the river. While the decor is pleasant enough, the place has something of a cafeteria feel. Our main dishes of roast beef and chicken pie were very good but our Yorkshire Pudding was disappointing. The wait staff was good.
