Barista & Baker in Southwark

I went to this cafe in chelsmford i ask for a coffee the manager first didn’t responded to me for 10 minutes.The manager was really rude he was talking to us was very rudely and to his staff also. He was racist and disgusted manager. I don’t know how these kind of people can work and it happen to my friend also for asking some caramel and he told me to please him. How kind of service you guys are providing it this acceptable. We are paying for coffe not to please these kind of racist people.

They will ask you for free trial with zero paid. When you are going great, they said you get hired. And they never actually give you rota. All they want is free manpower.

Ordered flat white at their Brent Cross branch. It was a lava temperature, after waiting for an hour for it to cool the taste was underwhelming, watery. It was the first time and the last time I will be going there.

Barista & Baker is an institution around Elephant & Castle. It serves excellent coffee and some lovely cakes. You'll also find a daily choice of soup which, at under £2, is great value for money and always yummy. Nice sandwiches, and some salads too. Definitely recommended for a coffee and snack if you are passing by or working nearby.

This modern coffee and light lunch place is between Elephant & Castle and Waterloo, which can be a tricky area to find somewhere nice to eat or have an informal meeting. I visited this place with two colleagues and it was great - good coffee, homemade soup, good sandwiches and fantastic cakes. Plenty of tables. Nice service too, efficient and friendly, and very reasonably priced for London. Highly recommended.

This is the second time I have been here now and is now my go to place if I want a coffee in Elephant & Castle. Good friendly service at the counter and proper coffee in proper sized cups. There are quite a few tables and the day I was there last you could go out into the courtyard at the back where there are seats outside. I haven't had lunch or anything but I did succumb to a nice looking croissant and it was very tasty. There are quite a few good looking cakes etc...hence 'Baker" as well as "Barisa". They also have a cold cabinet with cold drinks and salads etc.

I went to Barista & Baker around 5pm on a Wednesday, one good thing is it’s open until 6pm. I had a gorgeous chai latte and some salted corn as a snack - pretty reasonably priced. The guy who served me was friendly and service was good. I just found there to be not much atmosphere or colour/decor, it was a bit flat for me.

Okay for a lunchtime snack, but quite expensive and service is at a snails pace. So if you’re rich and not in a hurry this is the place to come.

This café is conveniently located near my workplace and always offers a great selection of delicious foods for lunch. I love the variety and there are often new choices to try, e.g. yesterday I enjoyed a really yummy toasted halloumi and chargrilled vegetable mixture in some kind of artisan bread. There are plenty of accompanying snacks, cakes, soups, drinks etc... The staff are always friendly and efficient. My only grumble is that it is sometimes challenging to find table space inside on a cold day.

This place is warm and welcoming, usually not crowded and rather quiet. Service is very good, all members of staff seem to be friendly. Coffee is very tasty, real italian. Prices are normal for this area. And I had an orange muffin that was amazing Bonus: During summer they have a rather large terrace at the back, not much of a view but it sits in full sun most of the day

The coffee is good and there is also now a lot more fresh items available. The staff are friendly and accommodating. There are tables outside (weather permitting) and it's a nice place to work from too

This is a lovely little cafe. The coffee (Illy) is good and pastries are too. Nice touches like all plates being warm & service is friendly. Good prices too: a flat white coffee is £1.70. Very pleased and would visit again.

I was in this area for a short course at London Southbank University and so I tried to go somewhere different each lunchtime. Barista & Baker is just a really nice place for everything from sandwiches through to jam donuts, at a reasonable price (we each spent around the £5 mark for food and drink) and with efficient, friendly service. I was there with a few friends and we ordered a mix of things, all of which were delicious; the salmon salad and toasted bagels were particularly tasty. If you're looking for a decent place for a snack and tea, this is perfect!

the coffees are a really good price and well made. the staff are so friendly every time I walk in which I find rare in London. a nice little spot for a casual meal or drink.
