I could tell this place was the real deal as soon as I walked in—most of the customers were Korean, which is always a good sign. The side dishes were absolutely delicious. We ordered the tteokbokki, samgyetang, and the pork and squid BBQ. The portions were generous, but we managed to finish everything because it was just that good. We also didn’t have to wait long for the food to be served, which was a nice bonus. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the New Malden area. I’ll definitely try the other dishes when I come back.

Came here for the first time tonight and I will definitely be coming back the the crispy chilli beef was so nice and so was the stir fry satay chicken although they was both a bit to spicy for me witch was no fault of the restaurant I will ask next time for less chilli's as thats my personal preference. I would definitely recommend this place and the price wasn't bad at all.

Recently tried the battered cod and chips from this place, and it was a delight! Generous portions and absolutely delicious. The batter was crispy, the fish was tender, and the chips were just right. Plus, the service was fantastic - definitely recommend giving it a try!

This was our local and we loved it. Sadly its now closed as the landlord has decided to redevelop the building. I will really miss the food, staff, service, the other patrons and the atmosphere. New malden has lost a gem and it won't be the same without it

Amazing food, great vibes. Price is slightly high but they food is great quality. Service is efficient, not the friendliest staff but not rude in my opinion.

Unplanned visit as was in area and wanted an early lunch - and found this little Korean food gem. Very friendly lady explaining the menu and the traditional Korean beef rice bowl was very tasty. Don't forget to pick the hot pot option! Recommended.

<<BLACKLISTED>> Feels like everyone here just gave up queuing for Treehouse next door and ended up at Yami out of desperation. Really regret coming in here. Worst service in UK. Food: Ordered spicy seafood noodle – barely any seafood, and the only two mussels were unopened. Asked to change, and the replacement had two more mussels, both served COLD. The ginseng chicken soup had no ginseng and the chicken was completely bland. We ordered stone pot spicy pork, made it clear we wanted the stone pot, but the server didn’t write it down and got the order wrong, nvm, but the staff responded with not a friendly attitude at all. No smile, no patience, she didn’t seem to want to even be here. Atmosphere: Ventilation is non-existent. As a BBQ restaurant, the whole place was full of smoke and felt stuffy throughout the meal. Very dark in lights as well. Never coming back, and HIGHLY don’t recommend.

Under New Management A wonderful Eid celebration at Sumer! We visited Sumer in New Malden to celebrate Eid as a family, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and perfect for a special occasion. A special mention goes to our hostess Iysha, who made the evening even more memorable. Her service was outstanding — attentive, kind, and genuinely thoughtful. Our children adored her, and nothing was ever too much trouble. She made us feel truly looked after. The food was delicious — full of flavour, beautifully presented, and served with care. Every dish brought something special to the table, and we left feeling full, happy, and grateful for such a lovely experience. We’ll definitely be returning. Highly recommended for both families and anyone looking to enjoy great service and authentic cuisine in a lovely setting. Thank you, Sumer, and thank you Iysha!

The food is ok, as they were saying they’re best, not sure how other Korea restaurants are like! But the service was definitely the worst I’ve experienced! We haven’t finished our meal, the bill was brought to table and ask us to pay at desk ! Then kept reminding us few time to pay! There were still have 3tables guests eating, it’s not the end of the day and we’re not the last table, it’s just ridiculously rude and unpleasant!
