Scj Bibimbap & Chimaek in Kingston upon Thames

Unplanned visit as was in area and wanted an early lunch - and found this little Korean food gem. Very friendly lady explaining the menu and the traditional Korean beef rice bowl was very tasty. Don't forget to pick the hot pot option! Recommended.

Wanted to eat at 3pm and very few places open. This one was, decor not good, and basic inside but still gave it a go! Do not be put off!! food was great and service was great. Spice pork was epic, chicken soup really deep flavours, nice fresh seafood pancake. Looking forward to going again!

I did two takeaways via their own website in June when I worked from home. Teokbokgi and Kimchi rice. Both are lovely and how they would taste in Seoul. Very tasty and quality ingredients- deco in the cafe could be better but for simple and tasty lunch at less £10.00, it was pleasant for me.

Definitely try this place. We came because of a YouTube review of the chicken. As you would expect, the chicken was great. The real star for me though was the beef. Such great beef - tender and full of flavour (especially the marbled pieces). I think the pricing was very fair. We will come again. Don’t be put off by the drab windows.

Placed an order for chicken takeaway and was told 20 minutes. 40 minutes later and I was still waiting. I have a feeling they have changed management since they first opened. As there is only 1 girl serving which seemed new as she was clueless. The service has really gone downhill. What seemed like the owner was out doing deliveries and came back to help after a while. Unfortunately they are putting profits before customer service as in the time I was waiting at least 4 delivery drivers turned up to collect orders. If they cant cope because they are too busy then employ more staff. After 45 minutes, was just handed the food with no apologies. Very disappointed.

I visited the restaurant on a Thursday evening and the atmosphere was ideal - not too busy, soft music and my waitress was so lovely and attentive! I think she was working on her own too-big kudos to her! The seafood spring onion pancake and chicken were generously portioned and very fresh. I can't wait to come back with my sister to try more from the menu! Thank you so much!!! :)
