Phenomenal Bingsoo, i would recommend the mango one but be warned that one will be more than enough between two people. They often run out, due to popularity, so please make sure to get there quick! Only downsides are parking, sitting room and general noise level. But otherwise a perfect 5/5

A disappointing experience with family and friends, especially as a lifelong local. I was genuinely let down by the quality here. The bingsoo was no longer available 1–2 hours before closing, which felt unreasonable for a signature item. The cake lacked freshness, and drinks were served in small paper cups—disappointingly low quality for the price point. The frappes were flavourless and forgettable. As someone who has lived in the area my entire life, I had high hopes, but sadly, I won’t be returning. I feel vastly embarrassed, as this was my suggestion to our meeting group for the night post-dinner.

If you’re taking your kids there, be very careful. The staff is clearly not trained and extremely unprofessional. We ordered a babychino - it was piping hot. I told the person serving and he said, “ok” and mixed it cold milk. This could have caused a serious injury and an emergency. That too for a little baby. It’s very clear that the staff is untrained, unprofessional and doesn’t care at all. Never going there again and want to warn all parents. The high chairs are wobbly and unsafe - again, no one cares at the cafe. I can see from other reviews similar safety concerns

It's a nice place but with the price I was expecting the cakes to atleast be good. While the taste is there the smell and aftertaste of " fridge smell" was quite prominent. A bit disappointed since its quite diffirent to recived recommendations. Maybe I should try it another time a pray the cakes are fresh? Probably a hit or a miss but I bought 6 slices and they were all quite stale.

Very noisy place, lots of infants (there is also a photo shooting opportunity with funny hats, glasses, etc). The cakes were really nice although a bit sponge and the yuzu tea was really amazing

Excellent Korean cafe. First time trying bingsoo and it was delicious. Huge portion so would recommend sharing unless you're starving.

The shaved ice was so much better than I expected and I really enjoyed it. However, since the place where the shaved ice is made is clearly visible when ordering, and since there is a photo showing that the King of England visited the place, I think if you pay a little more attention to the overall cleanliness of the store, you will be able to make a better impression and you will be able to bring foreign friends with more confidence. I didn't look like this when the king came, right? Hani and the others said they must have cleaned it up at that time. The shaved ice was really delicious!

The service has gotten so bad these days. I visited with relatives around 8:10, and when I tried to order shaved ice, the staff said, “No shaved ice.” It was strange, so I asked my relative, “Isn’t it closing at 8:30?”, and the male employee simply replied, “We’re out of ingredients.” The Oreo frappe was also out of stock, so I ended up ordering 4 pieces of cake and a drink, but both the male and female staff members responded with unfriendly expressions, which was very unpleasant. What's even more absurd is that I ordered a chocolate delight cake with raspberries on the display, but there was no raspberries in the cake I received. When I asked why, the male employee took the cake and said something loudly to the female employee, then brought a new cake and said, “The fruit may or may not come out.” That's a ridiculous excuse. If the displayed cake is different from the actual cake served, shouldn't there be an explanation and at least an apology? No matter how delicious the cake is, if the service is this good, I never want to go again.

I love everything about Cake & Bingsoo! The cake is perfect and the staff are very friendly. Wheelchair accessible and staff are accommodating.

One of the few true beating hearts of New Malden - if they ever close down this place - you can rename the town, cos it won't be the same. Friendly staff and great atmosphere to work or to socialise!

I travelled from Peckham to New Malden specifically to visit your café because I really enjoy bingsu. Sadly, my experience left me feeling unwelcome and deeply disappointed. When I arrived, I greeted the woman at the counter with a “hi,” and she responded — but then went on to ignore me and served the person who was behind me in the queue. When I politely confronted her about this, she suddenly claimed she didn’t speak fluent English, even though we had just exchanged greetings without any issue. This felt dismissive and unfair. I was asked to sit and wait for my order, but there were only a few tables available and they were all messy. I chose to sit at one, expecting that someone would come and clean it — especially since I saw a staff member clean another table right in front of me. I assumed my table would be cleaned when my order was ready, but no one came. I ended up collecting my order myself, clearing the leftover food from the table, and asking for a rag so I could clean it. Only after I had done all that did someone come over. Throughout my visit, I noticed I was the only Black customer in the shop, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was being treated differently. The lack of basic courtesy, the dismissive behavior, and the neglect made me feel excluded. No customer should be made to feel this way, especially after making an effort to come to new malden. I hope you seriously reflect on how this situation was handled and take steps to ensure that all customers — regardless of background — are treated with respect and fairness.

The place serves interest variety of desserts. We tried the Mango Bingsoo. It's basically shredded fine ice with mango and condensed milk in a medium size bowl . Good serving for 2- 3 people. The price was £9.20. The outlets on weekends are so busy. Enjoy.

Beautiful cafe with quick service. Wait times were a little long but the desserts made it worth it. Really fun and large photo booth too with fun accessories.

I'm extremely disappointed and concerned about my recent visit to Cake and Bingsoo Cafe. While the desserts looked appealing, the food safety practices were alarmingly poor. My dessert came with cut mango that I believe had been left at room temperature(I saw it placed in a plastic box on a table), which is a serious food safety hazard. As a result, I suffered from diarrhoea shortly after consumption. This experience was not only uncomfortable but also unacceptable. Leaving perishable foods like cut mango in the 'danger zone' of 40°F to 140°F (4°C to 60°C) for an extended period can lead to bacterial growth and foodborne illness. It's shocking that a cafe would be so reckless with their food handling practices. I hope Cake and Bingsoo Cafe takes immediate action to correct their food safety procedures and ensures that their customers' health and well-being are protected. Overall, the food does taste nice but the hygiene was not very good

Must go if you go to New Malden. Mango Bingsu and latte

The owner treat dine in customers like rubbish. Queued for 20 minutes and I was told they could not finish all the orders and ask me to queue again for another half an hour. Crazy. Their service is really bad. Will not go back again. Choices cafe is so much better with friendly service.

Went there for a late dessert on a Saturday evening with my wife and friends. There was a big queue when we got there, but our friends said their desserts are very good, so we decided it's worth waiting. After we browsed around the cafe, we realised they had an offer going - 50% off the croissant waffle, so my wife gave it a try. She got the matcha one, but she could hardly taste the matcha. As I had never tried the bingsoo - which is basically flakes of frozen milk with a sweet topping, thought I'd give the Oreo one a try. And I'm glad I did. It was very good. It had Oreo crumbs on top and the dessert was layered with ice cream. A very good introduction into South Korean desserts and friendly service

We called and drove half an hour to have bingsoo, they said they would be able to serve us if we arrived by 8.30pm we arrived at 8.22pm and staff refused to serve bingsoo at 8.28pm. We mentioned that we called to ask availability and was turned away. Staff were very rude.

Tried to go for Bingsoo on a Saturday and even though it was miserable outside, the place was packed. We decided to get cakes to takeaway instead. Fast friendly service and the cakes were amazing. Not cheap, but you can taste the quality in every bite. We tried the blueberry crème, English breakfast and some cheese cakes. All were delicious. Will try to come back for Bingsoo when it is not so busy.

Highly recommended for delicious Asia style sponge cakes. I can see/taste the potatoe pieces in the sweet potato cake. Not too sweet.

The taste is ok, but the management is poor, the kitchen is slow, the queue at the cashier is chaotic, and everyone uses the food delivery machine while waiting to pay.

No one really comes here for the matcha but I did. Was delicious matcha so amazing smooth and well made like amazing 1000/10

What happened to their customer service? It used to be good. I appreciate it gets busy during weekends but you can tell there’s no coordination between staff and looks angry AF.

I’m really disappointed with my recent visit to this dessert shop. I used to be a big fan of their matcha bingsu, but the quality has clearly degraded. It’s nothing like how it used to be! The matcha flavor, which used to be rich and authentic, now tastes weak and artificial. It’s obvious they’ve switched to a lower-quality matcha, and the difference is stark. The flavor is barely there, and it just doesn’t have the same depth or satisfying bitterness that matcha lovers expect. To make matters worse, the cleanliness of the shop left much to be desired. The tables were sticky, and the floors didn’t look like they had been cleaned properly. It really wasn't a good experience.

Visited here early afternoon by myself and cafe was pretty empty. Asked for a mango bingsoo and matcha latte. The lady recommended getting a smaller bingsoo in a takeaway cup. Once received, i sat down and started to eat. The same lady rushed over within a few minutes and ordered me to leave. Strange way to treat a paying customer. Especially considering the cafe was empty, i paid over £10 and was her recommendation. Have to say Bingsoo was nice but shame about the staff! Wont be returning anytime soon.

Tasty Bingsoo! It's a shame that the rice cakes flavour is sold out (around 7pm), I will definitely return to try that 😋 The original flavour is also highly recommended.

Very disappointed by the customer service when I visited on 23rd of December about 12. The old lady served coffee and I asked for a takeaway cup. She was very emotional glanced at me few second and through the cup to the sink. Other customers also shocked by the noise when she threw the cup. I don’t think I will go to this coffee shop again.

Very cute place and very nice and polite staff. We loved them! They even helped us organising a very little birthday party for our friend which was last minute. Couldn’t feel more welcome than this! Also, the photo booth was like a cherry on the top of all of it!! ❤️❤️

Best sponge cake I ever had. My husband and I went the first time and loved the spongy cakes and its cream, which has delicious flavour and not too very sweet. Just brilliant to our liking. Also, please try the pistachio crepe , they were something from different planet. We loved it so much that we went another day to try different flavours and took it away .

The bingsoo was really good! However the strawberry shortcake was abit not to the level I expected- the sponge felt stiff. But that could be because I visited at 8pm. Regardless good food!

I like the atmosphere here, you order at the counter and get your buzzer first, then pick your own seat. There were some people studying there so I felt completely comfortable eating bingsoo by myself. This is my first time having bingsoo, it is nothing like a slushy, the ice is so finely shaved and similar to snowflakes texture, just melts in your mouth and you could barely feel it. As a matcha lover the matcha bingsoo I had satisfied my dessert craving, strong flavour of matcha from the ice cream and topping, plenty of red beans (some on top and some at the bottom) created a perfect blend, the milky syrup was a great addition because I could pour it in bit by bit as I devour the dessert and even out the bitterness from matcha. This is my new favourite dessert. The portion is quite generous, came in a normal size bowl, having had lunch beforehand I was stuffed after eating it all by myself. There’s definitely enough to share as a two if you have a small appetite.

Please do something about the toilets. I come here often and the state of the toilets has been progressively deteriorating. For such a high traffic cafe surely you can invest some resources into providing hygienic and sanitary restroom facilities. alternatively just close them - this is unacceptable.

I’m very disappointed with the experience at this cafe. I was excited to try their bingsoo, but after three visits, I could only order it once! The first time was excellent, but the second time, I arrived to be told that last orders had already been taken much earlier than expected. On my third visit, they informed me they had run out of bingsoo base. It’s a bingsoo cafe which means bingsoo should be available or at least have consistent availability hours. I drove 30 min from home just for the bingsoo but have always been crushed with disappointments.

Everytime I have visited here it has always been busy and without a doubt the first challenge is to find a seat for your group of friends/family, but beside that it's a pretty good place for coffee, cake and bingsoo. It also has a photo booth section where you can take photos which is quite good if you want to make a memorable moment with a someone.

It's a nice place but I didn't get the best experience because of overcrowding on a Saturday. Absolutley no tables left inside and the lack of ventilation made the air a bit muggy inside.

This is a great place for BingSoo and a hot drink. We had the mango BingSoo which was delicious. They have a photo booth and dressing up stuff for those that like that sort of thing.

Recently visited the cafe and had a lovely experience. It was quite quiet in the cafe due to the time of our visiting which meant bingsoo were delivered quickly! The staff were very kind when taking the order and later asking for some items for takeaway. Rice cake on the bingsoo were a little dry but there were plenty of toppings so not a huge thing!

A bit pricey, but amazing dessert and the matcha latte was the tastiest.

Very long wait time for some bingsoo (over half an hour) and the table was broken.

Bingsoo looks ok but the flavour was too bland. It was served with a very little portion of condensed milk which was far not enough. Asking for some more condensed milk required 50p, and it came again with another little portion. The cake was quite good though. I will be back again for the cake but not again for Bingsoo.

What a lovely Korean cafe serving some lovely cakes and bingsoo (shaved ice). We had the original bingsoo which was awesome and also had a slice of the mango cake which was just as good.

Really disappointed with this place because it was hyped up so hard by social media. It is aesthetically pleasing and presentation is appetising, but the taste, quality and price does justify eating here. Service was just okay, but they don’t seem to work well during busy service hours as all the staff members were very panicked and overwhelmed. They were rushing people, making messes and forgetting parts of orders. We ordered two of the ades (yuzu and lychee) but both just tasted like plain lemonade with the slightest hint of flavour. The strawberry shortcake was not light and fluffy, the layers were over baked and the cream left this after feeling on your tongue. The bingsoo was a huge disappointment, it was too hard and lacked that fluffy feeling shaved ice is known for. The strawberries being jammed takes away a lot of that fresh flavour, the ice cream on top is too much, the toppings are not layered so by the time you get to the middle it’s just empty.

Oh my gosh, this place is awesome. I wish it were bigger!! You have to wait a while at busy times but I promise it's worth it. Delicious bingsoo, can't wait to return

This place is a must-visit for any dessert lover, especially if you're a fan of bingsoo. The presentation of the bingsoo was stunning!!! The shaved ice was incredibly fine and fluffy, melting in your mouth with every bite. We tried strawberry and mango bingsoo, both were perfectly balance of sweetness and creaminess, topped with fresh fruits.

We visited Cake & Bingsoo for the first time for my wife’s birthday breakfast, and it was an okay experience. The atmosphere was soft and inviting, though the furniture felt a bit dated. Still, the decor and amenities gave off a charming Korean-style vibe. We tried their matcha and chocolate croffle, which was decent, and the mango bingsoo. The fresh mango made the bingsoo more flavorful, but I wasn’t a fan of the shaved ice texture—it felt like eating ice cubes. I had expected it to be more like flavored gelato or frozen yogurt. The food was a bit on the pricier side, but the coffee was amazing. The service was fast, friendly, and very welcoming. Overall, nice spot - I’d definitely recommend this place as a great spot for coffee.

I ordered injeolmi shaved ice, but the injeolmi came out not thawed enough and was very hard… If you think of the Injeolmi shaved ice you ate in Korea, I recommend ordering it. I thought mango shaved ice would be better.

We've just been there and were let down by service AGAIN! As a family of three with different preferences, we were planning to order 3 different flavours of Bingsoo. Having Bingsoo served in a cup size was ideal, however we are not allowed to eat in despite 3 cups (around £7 each). That doesn't make any sense. We have visited that place a few times before and their service is never great. At least you should train your staff how to smile.

During our visit to New Malden we needed a sweet dessert to finish the day. We found Cake & Bingsoo and after queuing for some time (as we were a table of five) we all sat down to enjoy some sweet treats, the Bingsoo was refreshing and not too sweet, whereas the custard bear was amazing, and full of custard. Worth a visit.

Shaved ice is excellent. Service is completely at capacity. People are queueing everywhere, nobody knows what the queues are for, staff are completely overwhelmed. Would advise against coming on a summer weekend afternoon.

cutest little cafe 🤗 I’ve eaten here a few times in the past and it’s always been delicious so I thought I’d order a whole cake too. I forgot to check the cake while I was in the shop, but I did a few minutes after I left and noticed that there was a little smudge on the cake. They were super lovely and fixed it for me. staff were all so sweet <3 haven’t tried the cake yet, but I’m sure it’s lovely as always! (though I can’t fault the service on this occasion, I do have to agree with others that, in general, I’ve had much better experiences at the cafe a few years ago than compared to now)

Awful customer service. Almost ruined a birthday. Ordered a cake for a birthday and paid around £50 upfront. The lady behind the counter wrote it down for the wrong date, and when we went to collect it, the two staff members took 20 minutes to tell us they had the cake for the wrong day. They then told us to either collect the cake over a week later, or switch to a different flavoured cake that would take another 20 minutes to make. Said cake arrived with markings on top as they had clearly intended to sell it by the slice. They had clearly desperately covered the markings up with fruit. Spoiler — it didn’t work.

Beautiful bakery in the heart of New Malden with a wide selection of goodies! The service is a little slow but only due to the fact it’s busy, and with good reason. The bingsoo is incredible. It has a McDonald’s like atmosphere which makes it a great spot for families and kids. I highly recommend the mango or Oreo Bingsoo. Yum yum yum.

Got food poisoning from the strawberry bing soo , both my girlfriend and I felt the effects and were the only ones to eat it out of our group. Probably from stagnant ice or other reasons :(

It's not like there aren't places that sell shaved ice in London... I don't think there's any reason to buy it here with so many people and waiting in line ;; Well, the staff is a bit unfriendly... I think it's because they're so busy with so many tourists, but the shaved ice came out really late and my order was missed, so I should have just waited and asked.

Second visit, the bingsoo tasted really nice as usual and very high quality for its price. Seats were available quickly even at weekends, just a bit long when waiting for the food to be made as there’s only one staff in the kitchen.

Staff have been instructed to charge the customer to make the bingsoo sweet. The dessert is not sweet enough and upon requesting more syrup, the staff wants to charge extra! I am not coming back again.

This is the first time I visited as recommended by my friend. However, I felt very uncomfortable when I entered the cafe because I noticed that the cleanliness of the cafe could be seen as below average. The floor was noticeably with dirty stains even inside the kitchen. The floor and the customers dining tables were also very sticky with food stains everywhere. I also noticed that the open kitchen shelves door and table were not properly clean. I was deeply disappointed with the poor hygienic standard of this cafe. I will definitely won’t come back again.

This place is heaven for sugar lovers, an absolutely brilliant experience I never had such big portions . The only problem we had is getting tables some people just occupy tables for hours and hours without placing another order. This has not been regulated seating and hence becomes difficult to get a decent table to be comfortable.

I visit Bingsu twice sometimes three times a week as I live the matcha bingsu. But of late prices have increased quite considerably, size reduced and the red beans are not as good a quality as it used to be. All in all sad that the quality has deteriorated. Also more attention to cleaning is required.
