The Norbiton in Kingston upon Thames

I had my birthday party in the upstairs function room. The space was so pretty decked out with fairy lights and with our own private bar. The garden area downstairs is lovely and great for getting some fresh air and taking a breather from the main party! The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful! Thank you so much for making my evening run so smoothly! I will definitely be coming again.

I've been in a lot of pubs over the last 35 years, and this one is up there with the best. The service is what sets it apart. Staff always on hand to take your order. The pizza are perfect.

I celebrated my 30th birthday over the weekend in the upstairs function room at The Norbiton and I cannot thank the lovely staff enough for their service, patience and overall kindness towards me, my family and friends. They tended to our every needs with a smile on their faces, the pizzas were absolutely delicious (we will be coming back just for the food!) and the upstairs bar was fully stocked, so that we could have have the drinks of our choice. The sound system was good and the way they have decorated the room already, you don't need additional decorations really. Overall a great experience. Will deffo be using The Norbiton again for future functions.

I came here last week for lunch with my partner and it was great, we got served by a lovely girl called Amelia I think her name was and she couldn’t do enough for us. She recommended the sausage and nduja pizza which did not disappoint. We would definitely come here again based on this experience and a special thanks again to Amelia!

Good pub but pizzas were really disappointing

Thank you Team Norbiton for making our son’s 1st Birthday so memorable and easy to organise! We booked out the inviting and homely space at the back of the pub and the pizzas and space was just the ticket for a relaxed family get together. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Children and adults devoured the scrummy pizzas.

The bar lady/ waitress was miserable and had terrible customer service. She threw plates on the table and was never off her phone. The atmosphere could have been so much better without her attitude and demeanour.

Never disappoints.... Great Saturday night

We were here in a large group on Saturday night. It was busy and buzzing, the music was fantastic and added lots to the atmosphere. Given how busy it was, service was surprisingly attentive. The food was served quickly, pizza was delicious, chicken wings were yum. My drinks were good, had no complaints on the table. Would definitely come back, wish it was closer to home.

We used the above room for free for a local Residents Association meeting. Staff were so friendly. We were left to our own devices (by choice) and could pop downstairs to buy drinks if we wished. Brilliant local community spot and a very generous local facility. Many thanks to you all.

We had a 50th birthday party and the staff are super friendly and relaxed and helped with everything. Food was amazing and pizzas are definitely better than the usual pizzas you get. We had the best night with space for dancing.

Had my 30th birthday celebrations yesterday at The Norbiton. They reserved the garden area, (great space for 30ish guests) as it was Christmas time it was already decorated with lights we were able to take in balloons and cake. We ordered 16 pizzas for everyone to nibble on and they all had their favourites. (Amazing quality) Loads of selections of drinks (London prices though). We've been before and definitely will return again! 😀

Regular customer to the norbiton for years, the service yesterday was unacceptable. Very rude behaviour and told to leave due to another booking 20 minutes before the booking ( that’s a first ) and was not accommodating in giving people space to gather their kids and stuff. A bit of an advise, change your attitude or lose your customers

The Norbiton pub used to be my favorite pub as is close to my house, the food is delicious and the prices are good. I made a booking for my birthday and unfortunately things didn't go well at all. We ordered a lot of food and drinks and the manager came over to tell us that we have to leave around 4.55pm when the next reservation was booked for 5.30pm. She didn't give us any warning and she spoke to us in a very rude way, pushing and dragging the furniture in order to clean when we didn't even have the chance to gather our belongings. The rest of the staff member were ok, although we had to wait for a long time to order as they were chatting between themselves. Unfortunately my birthday experience was really bad and I don't think that we will visit this pub again in the future.

The Norbiton is my all time favorite pub. That's the only thing I can say about it.

Lovely local pub with great lively atmosphere while still being chilled enough to talk with friends. Very good service, selection of local beers and tasty pizzas. Cosy in winter, plus the garden looks amazing for the summer months.

Great atmosphere and the team did a fantastic job of accommodating our large group (with lots of young children!) hugely appreciated being able to catch up with friends and eat delicious food with our little ones. We all had a blast and will be back for sure!

Pizzas are always delicious , had to look twice before complaining I didn't receive the extra n'duja as it was literally 5 pellets worth.

I've been using the upstairs function room at The Norbi for years and it's an absolutely brilliant space. Had a big birthday party there and have also been using it to host regular monthly charity evenings which are always a great success. The main pub is fab too - nice range of drinks, good food and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended

Lovely friendly local pub. Our cycling club regularly use the pub for events and they're always so welcoming and accommodating. The garden is a fantastic space and the pizza is so good! A big thanks from BellaVelo CC for everything you do for the community.

Decent pub, hidden away. Went in based on reviews - turned out to be worthwhile. Nice large outside seating area, sports on a big screen projector inside. Only downside is no way of viewing the sports outside!

Very nice garden to chill in with friends, but also really cosy inside when weather is not great. Monday pizza for £7 deal is great and was good reason for a pub visit after first work day of the week. Wish the pizzas were sourdough, but otherwise has a good selection of vegan and vegetarian pizza choices. Not too expensive, but not cheap either.

We took our grandchildren for lunch to the Norbiton. The pizzas were excellent. The staff were very friendly. We had a good time at the pub. Highly recommended.

This place was booked for family and friends at lunchtime following a funeral. It was the perfect spot, we had a room and outside space to relax and recover. Traditional and stylish decor, fabulous pizzas and good service.

Absolute unit of a pub. The garden area has more personality than my ex-girlfriend. That's probably why I've spent more time there than I did with her. Too right.

Probably the best pub in Kingston, great staff, food, drinks (only place I’ve found that has soundwave ipa on tap) and an uncommonly good beer garden.

Food is AMAZING to say the least.. but the service is so slow. Pizza’s serves almost 20 minutes apart leaving everybody eating at different times.. then pudding took over an hour to be served which is ridiculous… but if your willing to wait, the food is great.

Great food , pizza is great and I’m Italian ; ) . Cocktails are also very good : ) I have booked a table last Friday got s group of 13 people , even if it was very busy , the service was fast and efficient and at the bar they welcomed us with a smile . Would recommend: )

Well the bar staff are slow to arrive at the bar to serve, and the music is terrible and a little on the loud side. The beer selection is ok and it looks like they do good business with the pizzas. They really need some people with pub experience running the place, it’s big and tidy with a nice sized garden. It could be doing soo much better.

I love this pub, compared to the over priced Albert and now cheap old black horse, it’s top in the area! My only gripe is every time I’m here, staff seem to be too busy in the corner behind the main bar, nothing worse than waiting whilst they chit chat and show videos on their phones to each other! I like the relaxed atmosphere and the fact you guys show live sport, but I just feel that extra customer service would go a long way! Thanks Aaron

We had our Christmas Party for our Street at the Nortbiton last night. 70 of us booked for Tuesday Night Pizza Special. Great food , great service from all the staff, and a brilliant venue. We got the back room to ourselves and they made feel very special. We were all appreciative of their attention to detail. We will definitely book again. Thank you to all the staff ❤️

Regularly visit this local pub. Has a beautiful interior, great retreat on cold winter days or for lounging in the garden during summer! Always interesting guest beers on tap and excellent Pizza.

We just moved to the area, and we are trying restaurants around. We ordered 5 pizzas and they were very big and juicy. We really enjoyed, also the manager its very friendly

The fantastic tasting and great value pizzas, along with the great selection of beers save The Norbiton from a poor review from me. I come to The Norbiton quite frequently because it serves a purpose as a great place to have good beer and really good value (and delicious) pizzas. Not that I tend to go for this, but I do like the fact it’s so on top of the sports calendar for those that want to come for that. Due to its position and the fact it is undoubtedly quite popular for the reasons I mention above, the atmosphere is generally quite good too. My main bugbear with The Norbiton, and similar pubs like it which offer a contemporary pub aesthetic and encompass an emphasis on ‘craft beer’, is that the staff service and engagement with its customers is actually really poor in comparison to those that make an effort with their customers. For some reason, places that align themselves with this aesthetic almost seem as though they’re ‘too cool’ to engage as you might expect from any other hospitality environment, serving customers as though they’d just woken from a deep sleep or as though they’re simply not that interested in serving you. It has to be said there are some friendly members of staff that smile, say hello, and generally engage like you might expect, but they are in the minority. I only labour this point because The Norbiton has a great formula other than the reception it’s customers get, and it’s the element that doesn’t cost anything that lets it down for me.

We used to be regulars here when it did Thai food. As a venue it is still a nice space if you veer left on entering and head towards the fairy-lit 'restaurant' and garden. I would give the pizza 3.5 stars if that was possible - 'average' feels harsh for the tasty and generous toppings (the gorgonzola ones are especially delicious) but 'very good' feels generous when the pizzas were barely warm, let alone hot when they arrived at our table. This may be a consequence of the bar-based service model, but is disappointing - a plate warmer might help... The other equipment-based problem is the blunt knives that you get to cut your cool(ing) pizza in order to get at those tasty toppings - we found it quite a struggle... If they could resolve those minor niggles then we would probably be regulars again, despite the other good pizza places nearby.

We love coming here and love the staff too, they're always super friendly. We bring our friends and family who are visiting here regularly too - in our opinion the best pub for miles around - we actually walk past a few pubs to get to this one, so that just shows how much we love it. You can tell the staff are treated well by management and are always smiling and happy to serve, which really makes the difference between an OK experience and a GREAT ONE. Having worked in pubs in my uni days I know what it's like to work under good and bad management. Keep up the good work and don't change anything!

This pub used to be a more traditional type boozer offering thai food, but over the last few years has had a revamp and gone with a new craft beer vibe, which the punters seem to lap up. And it also has a new pizza based food offer. The food is fantastic, and the selection of artisanal beers is top-notch. It also has a great outdoor space, which makes it a magnet for young families at the weekend and early evenings. They always seem to be doing a roaring trade, which is great to see in the current climate. Unfortunately though, the issue I've experienced on the last few visits with my family is that the staff obviously have an issue with kids - happy to take the parent's cash, obviously, but then openly rude as soon as the clock hits 19.30. One member of the bar team last weekend was spotted loudly chastising a group of children, ordering them to be quiet. These kids were enjoying themselves, happily ploughing money into the foosball table. Really bad form, and certainly not the brightest move to alienate a cohort of your regular clientele - parents like myself might not stay all night, but we drop a lot of cash in the short time we're in there. There are decent pubs within a really short walk, so it's bizarre that anyone trying to run a business would treat their punters in this way. (I really hope that its just a case of some grumpy staff, and not a management directive.)

Decent pub hidden in a nice quiet part of Norbiton. Stumbled across it on the off chance and this place is huge and has a massive beer garden.The beer selection is extensive with a range of craft beers on offer, with a small amount of run of the mill stuff too. Always enjoy the indie music playing here too which is a bonus.The pizza selection looks mouthwatering and they all looked great when being delivered to other tables, although I’m yet to indulge just yet. Staff are helpful, but seem a bit grumpy at times so a minor mark down for that. Chin up guys it might just happen.

The food here is excellent it was a delightful visit. Our waiter Charlotte was phenomenal she was very attentive and had a great personality. The ambiance was fantastic we sat in the garden under the heaters for great beer and some snacks. Really enjoyed it here will definitely be back soon. A really divine pub if you ask me.

Came here last night after a particularly busy day at work to unwind for a few drinks. Have to say I haven't been in years, but the turn around with customer service is great and exceeded my expectations. We were served by Millie who was fantastic, super bubbly and made our experience amazing. We will definitely be back again.

I was appalled by the way we were treated when we arrived here yesterday afternoon. Their extremely obnoxious bar manager was really rude, unhelpful and spoke down to us. He made the whole experience extremely uncomfortable. It had been around 2 years since I last went to the norbiton and the way we were treated yesterday I won’t be going back again for a very long time.

Firstly, a small note on Covid: staff don't wear masks, not even when they serve drinks or food.This is my local pub and so I have been there a few times. Mostly with my family alone or with other families.The food is good (pizza) and the space is nice, both inside and outside, so overall is a lovely pub. However I have never felt fully welcome by the staff.Yesterday we had two members of the staff serving us - the guy was great, the girl seemed annoyed with our presence, I am not sure why, she offered a bit of a rough expression throughout.And it's not the first time I have experienced this, hence why I am leaving a review. My second episode is even more enlightening and it happened last year:Me: Hello, can I have a babycinno?Bartender: Excuse-me?M: It's just a glass of warm milk for my son.B: You take us for Starbucks or Costa here.M: Well, I have seen this in other local pubs and small coffee shops. It is just a warm glass of milk.B: We are a brewery and wine bar.At which point I thought: there is a child's birthday going on in the main area of your brewery. And I have been to at least three children's birthdays in the last 6 months in this pub.It seemed to me that the aspirations of that bartender (not sure if he was the manager, he seemed senior) did not match the clientelle of the pub. In any case, some willingness to respond to a simple need of a customer costs very little compared to the reward.In the end I think I got a cold glass of milk - in addition to such pretentious responses!Overall, I have the impression that the pub wants to be something that is not, they are stuck in a residential area full of families, whilst the staff (and the management?) may not be willing to accept that.

Delicious pizza and good beer selection. What more is there to say? My favourite is the fennel sausage pizza (no.7) pictured. For some reason my gf likes the white base pizzas. I bought the doughnut and Nutella desert which was £2 so unsurprisingly it was pretty average but a bargain.

The service here is incredible- I can’t remember our servers name (sorry!!) but he was absolutely wonderful. Me and a friend came in for a couple of drinks and he was so lovely and got us all out requests he even swapped out my drink and added sugar syrup for me when I didn’t like it! The place was so clean and has hand sanitizer stations Around because of the rona and we were seated away from other groups which was nice cause we could enjoy ourselves. I didn’t try any of the food but the menu caters to vegans (I asked) and looks great - also I really liked the bathroom decoration

Valentine's Day! Lovely decor and homely pub. The front of the pub is much nicer than the back. There were a fair few families when we arrived near the back and there's a draught. The house wine is of good quality - get the white, not the rose, and there are a fair few beers on tap. We had a table reserved but we preferred in the end to stay round the front as it was far cosier.The pizzas are really something else. Absolutely delicious with a generous amount of toppings. Bf didn't like his additional mascapone (? soft cheese?) topping but the rest was lovely. Decent portion too.Overall, good place for dates but the wines were price (large was around £6.8 and a pint £5) so if it's a special event, it's worth going. Attentive bar staff and welcoming atmosphere too.Also, my first glass of wine came in a glass without a stork and base (like a small glass)! I thought this was rather novel.We chose this place because of the music and entertainment. The background music is quite nice (indie/alt pop stuff) and there were some singers on the night, but wasn't my bf's cup of tea.

We went for lunch while our car was in the garage round the corner. We ordered three pizzas which were very good and a bargain on their special deal - Monday to Friday 12 pm - 3 pm all pizzas are £6. However, to be given a pager and to be told that when it went off, we needed to go round to the other side of the bar to collect our pizzas was odd to say the least. When we’d finished, the plates weren’t cleared and we had to move them onto another table where they sat and were still sitting two hours later when we left. Also every time we went to the bar, whether to order said pizzas or order more drinks, it was a case of find the bar staff! We would go back as the pizzas are good but they really need to get the service side sorted out.

Excellent value freshly-made pizzas served in pleasant surroundings, with a fine range of beers. Visited many times over the last six months and the lunchtime offer of a pizza for £6 is very good value. Nice atmosphere and surroundings. It helps that the pub is in a road a slight distance from the main road which avoids heavy traffic passing by.Pleasant beer garden when weather permits.

This was a real expensive treat for us but everything was completely cold, we had to microwave which defeats the object!

Having been to the The Norbiton on a number of occasions recently, both during the week and on Sunday for the quiz, we can report that the Pizzas are great and go down very well with our extended family. The Pub is welcoming to all, including Dogs and they also offer Gluten free pizza bases too!The pub has changed over ten years, but it is a large a airy Pub retaining its original horse shoe bar and offers a selection of drinks to suit most tastes and budgets. They server a local Park brewery beer and have a short but concise wine list. There is a large outside garden, with some covered seating as well as a section of AstroTurf with some garden games. The food is Pizza based, with a list of standard pizza offerings, plus a make your own option. There are a couple of other food options, but it’s mostly Pizza which comes quickly and as mentioned is offered on Gluten free bases as well. Tables can be booked, and I would recommend you do for large groups.Check out the weekly offers as there are some food and drinks deals depending on what days you are there.So all good... I would recommend a visit for a drink and pizza..BUT, it seems we will have to unfortunately rethink when we will next visit(!) With the introduction of an under 18s curfew we will find it difficult to justify any family visits where food has to be timed to be finished by the curfew. Plus we will not be able to attend the Sunday Quiz even in the school holidays. No matter, there are plenty of other options locally.No under 18s after 8pm Mon-Thu, and after 7pm Fri-Sun.

We’ve been going to the Norbiton for years and have always loved it, unfortunately they have now instigated a 7pm curfew for all under 18s which means we can no longer go there for dinner or early evening drinks. We went for a quiet drink yesterday evening in the beer garden at 6.45pm and at 7pm were told to finish our drinks and leave by an overzealous bar staff member - I was only half way through my - expensive - drink as was my husband so said we’d leave as soon as we’d finished, 2 minutes later she was back asking if we wanted take away cups! We felt completely hassled into downing our drinks and leaving. The family next to us had just had their pizzas delivered and had to have them packed in boxes and were booted out! I get that no one wants their evening out ruined by screaming kids running around but use some discretion! Our young teen was sitting quietly at a table with us having a chat and wasn’t disturbing anyone else’s evening. It turned what should have been a lovely evening sour for us. By having such an early curfew for all under 18s (what about families with 15, 16 and 17 year old kids?!) the Norbiton are sending a clear message that families are no longer welcome. Most pubs go with 8/8.30pm which gives families a chance to eat and adult drinkers/diners to enjoy a quiet evening too - particularly in a family area like Kingston.We don’t usually eat in the evening before 7pm and we’re often not both back from work by then so that effectively rules out eating dinner at the Norbiton - I suppose we could go for a weekend lunch, but why would we bother when we’re clearly not welcome?Luckily there are lots of other great pubs in North Kingston so we’ll be going elsewhere in future and would recommend other families do the same.

Visited to watch live football, great atmosphere, fantastic selection of real ale and lagers Bar staff very attentive and funny, rustic feel about the decor. The best pub pizza I’ve ever eaten. Well worth a try I’ll be back

Was introducted to The Norbiton by my daughter on Saturday, wow what a find.Atmosphere great. Wide screen TVs, plenty of comfortable seating, as well as an area idea to take the children and outside area (heated smoking area available).Good drinks, wide range of ales available and I believe these are changed on a regular basis.Pizzas and food - wow. Must commend the chef - honestly full of flavour.Bar staff lovely!!Will I return - you bet!!

Of course, the weekday price of £5 for a pizza is the real winner here, but the pizzas are so good we'd visit at weekends & evenings too. You can effectively build-your-own and it's super to sit outside in the summer.

Relaxed local pub for a (local) beer with friends. Their menu is simple (basically just pizza), but nice. Great deals for lunch deal and Monday evenings.

We always come here to meet our son who lives in Kingston once a month. Always a lovely atmosphere with a great choice off beer and gin. The pizza is great, you can only get pizza and on a Monday it’s buy one get one free, brilliant! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and will be back again next month.

Since early this year, I have discovered an intolerance to lactose which has forbidden me to enjoy many culinary delights I once ate without thinking about it. The thought of a pizza without a stringy mozzarella topping made me very sad, therefore when I discovered The Norbiton and their amazing pizza(with vegan cheese), I was ecstatic! The dough is amazing, always crispy and light. They are very generous with the topping too. Great selection of beers. Very good Pimms. Great outdoor seating area. Funny and entertaining quiz night on Sundays(the hostess is so good at her job). Very good group of staff behind the counter. Only fault, the board games would need updating(I suppose people should take better care of things that are not theirs). I try to go every weekend to have my pizza fix. Highly recommended.

I am a AFC Wimbledon fan who lives outside of London, and getting to home games only happens once or twice a season, and mostly I drink in Wimbledon and then get the train down to Norbiton.

We have frequented The Norbiton many times, both to dine in and to take away. Great thin crust pizza and selection is interesting and varied. I normally don't like calzones but decided to try the vegetarian calzone here and it was amazing, very tasty indeed! Great to visit with our friends who have kids as there's plenty of space and games to entertain them with. Great food, great atmosphere! Definitely worth a visit! £5 pizza at lunch which is a bargain!

Ignore any negative reviews, they don’t know what they’re on about. Visited for the first time today and loved it. Great service from friendly and knowledgeable bar staff, even the new ones! The Argentinian Malbec is a banger too. Will definitely be back, good work gang!

I am a local and frequent this pub regularly. I am disappointed to say that the levels bar service has really dropped off recently. On Friday evening we had to leave before ordering as the wait to be served for a drink or pizza was over 20 mins (as confirmed by a friend whom had been waiting for that long). The queues were horrendous with only 2 staff serving - it was good weather but this was predicted so shouldnt have surprised anyone. We went to The Black horse instead! As it was a sunny evening on one side of the bar was full of empties that were collected from the garden - not a good impression at all. Very different to when it first opened with an abundance of helpful friendly staff. Also the lack of smiles and unfriendliness is really off putting and has been commented on more than once by my many friends locally. Please employ more staff (a junior glass collector would be useful) and please train your current staff to be more friendly and smile very occasionally. It always feels like they are doing me a favor, albeit reluctantly. Success relies on happy returning customers. Also can you please refresh your pizza choice occasionally. Again this would drive returning customers (I have eaten there dozens of times but am bored by current choices).

The Norbiton has had a revamp recently & it's so much better than before. Great beers & craft ales, far more room inside than before. A simple but excellent pizza & some great offers. Professional & friendly staff who know their product. I would of given this a higher overall rating apart from the fact I would advise against visiting the pub on school holidays or between 4 & 6 in the evening as on the few occasions I've been at these times it's full of children, especially the garden, often unsupervised so it somewhat spoiled my visit. Fine if you have children but if you want a little bit of peace & quiet then avoid at these times! Shame really as I would recommend whole heartedly otherwise.

We had a lovely lunch at this gem of a place which has a lovely garden as well as a pleasant interior. The pizzas are varied and delicious and the salads are fresh and very tasty. This place caters for people of all ages and is well worth a visit.

The Norbiton has had a bit of a chequered history but its latest incarnation seems to be getting into its stride. Our main usage is at lunchtime when the £5 pizza deal is hard to ignore - interesting toppings, tasty bases, fresh cooking, and swift service.

This is a great pub with a good selection of beer and child friendly with lots of inside and outside space. They also sell probably the best Pizzas in the local area.

I don't normally write reviews but felt compelled after such a great evening at The Norbiton. A great atmosphere! Dog and child friendly. Great pizza's and a wide selection of beers. Not the usual gastropub! Keep up the great work!

We went late to watch the boxing after a family meal.

Great pub. Beautifully decorated, friendly staff and reasonable prices (not typical London prices). Yummy pizzas which are 241 on Mondays. Huge amount of space both inside and out. Love that this is our local, keep doing what you're doing!

I go into The Norbiton from time to time on my days off for their £5 dough deal between 12 and 3. Always have a Serrano pizza with a pint or two. It's only fair to give a 5 star because you cannot fault it. A very friendly team work there, the beer is kept well and the pizza is consistently good. If the lunch offer were to ever disappear I still wouldn't mind paying the normal price- it's a well executed pizza indeed. Great local pub all in all. Cheers.

I love a pizza and some wine here. Friendly staff, great atmosphere. A lovely local and a really interesting choice of ales.

Great pub in norbiton, friendly staff, great pizza and selection of beers.

This pub serves amazing pizza and has added salads to the menu. They play great music, are family friendly (have high chairs etc), and have a fantastic garden. They also do a brilliant two for one pizza deal during the weekdays. I love what they've done with the refurbishment too.

The Norbiton now sells a good range of independent beers and Pizza. The Pizza was surprisingly good and is great pub food as you can either share one pizza with friends or order a pizza per person depending on how hungry you are.

The Norbiton has undergone many changes over the years we have visited, but for me this has got to be the best.
