Bar Malden in Kingston upon Thames

This was our local and we loved it. Sadly its now closed as the landlord has decided to redevelop the building. I will really miss the food, staff, service, the other patrons and the atmosphere. New malden has lost a gem and it won't be the same without it

We were invited to this pub by an aunt who has been frequenting it for a long time. Warm, welcoming environment, with lots of atmosphere and the possibility of Karaoke. They tell me they also play live music often. Kind and pleasant staff. Obviously excellent beer always available (light and hoppy lager... you can drink it in pints without problems)!

Quiet on the day I went, ale in was hobgoblin gold in excellent condition, two pints downed.

Bartender with mental issues. Apart from that everything fine

Snowflake woke police shouted at me for using the disabled toilets. Excuse me if I don't want to walk upstairs to the regular toilets! How was I to know there would be a disabled person waiting? Great bar, would recommend

I had my Company’s 1st annual Christmas presentation award at this venue. The staff were on point. I am very picky when it comes to oriental food especially Thai so I was very sceptical however the dish I had was Chicken Pad Thai was spot on. Overall I am glad I picked this venue, I will be using this venue not only for business but also for pleasure staff, management are really friendly and welcoming!

On the weekend we spent the afternoon holding a presentation for my Thai boxing club, Christmas party and awards at bar Malden the venue was beautiful and feeling very festive the customers service was brilliant and Dee the bar staff really was a amazing and very helpful from setting up our preordering food for the big group we are and was checking in to see if there was anything more she can do to make this a good year to celebrate my teammates, The food was lovely and really didn’t want it to finish.

Great pub the service was excellent and friendly. Will be coming back as soon as possible. Great music Still one of the best pubs in the area!

One of four pubs in New Malden. How does it compare? The beer selection is okay, but nothing special. I would rank it bottom of the four pubs. I haven't tried food here, it looks pretty good though, and want to try. The decor is good, I like how the pub looks, it has stiff competition with Woodies and The Royal Oak which are top tier classic pubs though. The Spoons down the road is up there with nicer Spoons (if being bland). The atmosphere is good, and they offer a variety of events with Karaoke and Quizzes. Definitely check this place out, as there are limited places to go in New Malden and it does make for a great change!!

This was an epithany experience, especially as I wasnt expecting anything special. The staff made us feel welcome straight away, without any fuss. We decided to stay and eat and both enjoyed our meals having different dishes. I am living in Putney but would consider making a regular trip back to this place every couple.of weeks as a treat or as a local. I recently visited Bar Malden, and I must say it exceeded my expectations in every way! Prices, Music, the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for a casual night out or a small gathering with friends. A very competitive price! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The selection of drinks is impressive, with a variety of craft beers, well-curated cocktails, and a solid range of spirits. The menu featured a variety of tasty small bites and heartier options that perfectly complemented the drinks. I’ll definitely be back!

A great place to go I went to a wake there and it was very entertaining too as 6 bands turned up to played that afternoon for my Friend Mark.

A nice little day out, the food is perfect all three of my children enjoyed it. The kindness from staff was just amazing such a welcoming atmosphere. Would definitely return when in the area next

We were welcomed so warmly! We will definitely come back again! We just needed somewhere to pass by the rain, we ended up staying and it was the best decision to go inside the Bar Malden!

Best experience in a pub so far. It was 8 of us and we had drinks, played games the whole evening and Rich and his team was really kind enough to set up the karaoke for us! oh it was the best! too bad we live quite far. if not, we defo would have been regulars here! Stumbled upon this hidden gem by accident - felt like walking into someones home. Badz and Zee made me feel so welcome and treated me like a member of a family. The food is to die for as well! Cannot recommend enough.

Did not enjoy the food here today Saturday. The wings were not properly cooked plus apparently Asian slaw is not mixed with a dressing just a small pile of dried veg. ! My wine glass was also dirty. The Katsu curry was edible and guineas was good

Sunday roasts have landed in Bar Malden! Its a great addition to the Pan Asian cuisine. All freshly cooked & locally sourced meat. Highly recommend & will be coming back. The team are welcoming & the vibe is just right.

Just had a roast dinner, which they started today. All home cooked! Even my partner that isnt a fan of roast dinners loved it! Would highly recommend. A Great team. 👍🍻🍸🥂🍷

WOW, this place is fantastic, I lived every moment. If you want to do karaoke aswell? This is the place. Because I done my THING!! If you need food and drinks, karaoke and smiles, you name it. This it’s the PLACE TO GO

It does the job, and it's handy for New Malden Station, and the staff are pleasant, but it isn't a 'nice' pub. It is loud, and generally sticky and a bit tacky. The drinks and staff can't be faulted, and it isn't violent or anything, so I think it probably deserves 3-stars.

The food is good, yet not great. The staff are friendly. The environment is clean. The prices for drinks are more than wetherspoons. However, you can guarantee a seat, unlike in the Watchman.

What can I say last friday you guys smashed it for us. A few of my pals thought you guys where a karaoke bar. On arrival we noticed you guys where not. However what came next was the ultimate surprise. After speaking to a staff member we found out you did indeed do karaoke, 5minutes later it was set up. We bang to sing out hearts out till close, with no request not granted. From elvis to the streets we destroyed ear drums. But thanks to the quick service and clean pints and a great karaoke dj. We had a very random night out partying. We will be back for sure. Thank you

A bar located right next to New Malden Station in England!

My my my what can I say, me and my wife had just had the eating experience of a life time. Where shall i start, absolutely downright stupendous confectionery complemented by wonderfully friendly staff. Will be having my sons bar mitzvah here very soon. And you can count on that!

Bar malden and mii kitchen has been my all time favorite, it’s definitely turned around since the new management have taken over. The food is amazing and very fresh and tasty. Totally different clientele now. It’s my go to every time I come from usa! Go and check it out for yourself.

Update: Damn! This place is amazing 👏 great food and really reasonable. You must try. They just added chicken katsu to their menu which I never order because its too bland but the chef said this is different amd it really delivers... a little kick, soo good. Pad Thai really tasty. And washed down with my new fave pint of Neck Oil. Really recommend. Original: First time back here in ages, I heard they have new Vietnamese pop up kitchen. The Banh Mi was amazing. Chicken and pork combined. Really fresh, tasty and recommended. I'll be back to try the other dishes - the crispy pork bowl sounds tasty. And a real bonus is that the pub staff were really friendly and it was pleasant atmosphere.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a local pub and was blown away by the exquisite flavors of their menu. We started with the Filo Wrapped Prawn, and I have to say it was one of the most mouth-watering starters I've had in a while. The prawns were perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy, and the filo pastry was so crisp and flaky. The dish was accompanied by a tangy dipping sauce that complemented the delicate prawn flavour so well. Moving on to the mains, I opted for the Phad Thai Chicken Prawns while my partner chose the Vietnamese Sweet and Sour Chicken. Both dishes were absolutely phenomenal. The Phad Thai had the perfect balance of sweet and savoury flavours, and the prawns and chicken were cooked to perfection. The noodles were tender yet still retained their firmness, and the crushed peanuts added a delightful crunch to the dish. My partner's Vietnamese Sweet and Sour Chicken was a pleasant surprise, bursting with an incredible combination of sweet and sour notes. The chicken was perfectly cooked, moist, and tender, and the stir-fried vegetables added a fresh and healthy element to the dish. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the food at this pub. The flavours were exceptional, and the presentation was outstanding. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable, making it an excellent value for money. I would highly recommend the Filo Wrapped Prawn, Phad Thai Chicken Prawns, and the Vietnamese Sweet and Sour Chicken to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. Oh, and kudos to Rich, who made our experience even more exemplary. Go see him DJ on Fridays and Saturdays, and have fun!

Will never go back. Usual go here once or twice a week so not there biggest customer. Although they dont seem to have that many customers anymore. Went there today 2 pints of neck oil bag of crisps £14 spent. My daughter came in sat down and ate some apple from tesco(she has to eat six times a day for medical reasons) and they told her she cant eat it. Said mate just bought 2 pints but they didn't care. Disgraceful. Look forward to its next owners probably wont be long.

Great place to have a few pints. The new management has cleaned up this place and setup a kitchen that serves tasty Vietnamese food along with traditional pub items. It’s my new local with friendly staff and great range of beers on tap. The owner started stocking some GF beers based on my suggestion.

Really nice place for the weekend

Went for the monthly comedy show and could not have had a nicer night out. Beautiful venue, brilliant acts, charming host, all topped off with some top-shelf Tiki cocktails. Go. Now.

A real fun night out. Great tunes to dance to, fabulous gin, friendly staff and AMAZING Asian fusion food. And the best bit - it’s all on the doorstep so no need to taxi home in the cold!

Thanks to all the team at Bar Malden for my fabulously festive birthday bash! It was such a memorable night! The venue was stylish decorated and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. Food was delicious and freshly prepared. The disco dancing and drinks kept everyone moving all night up to the moment the attentive and polite staff closed up and said goodnight.

My friend and I went to this pub and we had a good time. Their Thai Burger is unbelievably tasty. I really enjoyed it and will definitely be back for more. The ambience of the pub was also very nice and relaxed. I'll definitely be back. This is going to be my new go to for Burger and Wings.

Haven’t been back for ages but positively surprised it’s under new management and it looks better now and friendlier. So might pop in for a drink soon again and their pop up Vietnamese kitchen.

I recently came here for an early Christmas party. It started off well, the food was alright, but after an hour the staff- mainly a couple in particular- became so rude! To the point where my friend asked for reggaeton music, which was dismissed and the DJ later had an argument with her outside with another guy, telling her to ‘f*k off’ and go somewhere else! I genuinely cannot believe the way we were all treated, such a disgrace. As a result my fun night was ruined and the vibes had changed so I think the rest of the party left too. I had wanted to test out the salsa classes here but I will never be coming here again.
