Hidden down a wee alley its a hood spot. Food was hot and tasty. Had a big cooked breakfast Saturday.

At last, the best cafe/restaurant in Sutton (and further afield) has re-opened. Food is excellent and portions are more than adequate. Staff are always friendly and helpful. You can get anything from a tea cake to steak meal, and service is always the same. They put trendy cafes to shame who charge the earth for nothing. Tell your friends. POPPINS IS OPEN.

My friend and I popped in for brunch recently as this lovely establishment has been closed for some months. It was like being reacquainted with an old friend. Welcome back to tasty food and a lovely family run cafe.

Excellent service, well cooked food and very reasonably priced. I dropped my wife off nearby for an appointment so had an hour or so in Sutton to kill, so decided to visit Poppins again as whilst I’ve not been there for years, it was always one of our favourite cafes to visit on a Saturday morning.

Poppins is an amazing cafe and the staff are so lovely and take the time to get to know every customer. Always worth a visit!

A quick bite after a long journey. A most delicious panini in a relaxed and happy atmosphere. Couldn't fault the food. Only wish I'd gone for the mixed grill. Maybe next time. I also didn't have desert, which I regretted once I saw the one my partner ordered. The Venue is clean. Decorated to a fair standard, more cafe than restaurant? The staff are great. Toilet facilities adequate and clean.

First time in this Sutton based establishment. Friendly staff, great value and great choice on the menu. Prices reasonable too

I visit here with my mum for lunch. There is a great selection on the menu and always something for everyone. The jacket potato with tuna is my favourite lunch. The cafe offers a great service at an affordable price. The staff are always so friendly and make you laugh.

This local restaurant/cafe is located on the main high street so has an excellent location. Staff are always friendly and prompt with their service even during busy periods. The food is simple but tasty. Very cost effective way of going out for breakfast or lunch with family or friends.

Came here as my usual Friday lunch club was shut. Was impressed. Much better than I expected. I had the gammon with Pineapple which although the pineapple wasn't grilled it was very juicy..a large portion so only had a main. The staff were friendly and the food came quickly and was hot. I will be back!

Great cafe to visit for lunch. Lots of staff , good portion sizes, varied menu. My parents ( retired ) eat here every week , one of their many regular customers. Situated on the main high street of Sutton.

Un locale particolare ma un menù davvero striminzito. Rapporto qualità prezzo inesistente. Merluzzo dal sapore strano, porzione regolare abbondante, soprattutto per le patate. Cidro di mele terribile. Buone le salse ma personale non particolarmente cordiale. Quando finisci di mangiare vengono col conto e col pos a farti pagare al tavolo, di fatto mascherando la richiesta poco gentile di uscire dal locale. Allucinante

Wife and I use this restaurant regularly when we're shopping in Sutton. Service always good, food quality good, prices good. Always busy lunchtimes with many regulars. Well worth a try.

The hygiene standards are very good and service is prompt however if you are expecting fine dinning look elsewhere this is a clean cheap place to eat. The quality isn't great but as the saying goes you get what you pay for

I love this cafe .. the staff are friendly and they serve good cafe food eg good old english fry up. You get value for your money as the portions are big. This one of the best cafes in sutton, so worth a visit 😁

I have used this place a few times over the last couple of years and its never been great but for the price its been ok but the last time it was rubbish and I have vowed never to return

best café ever!!!! lavish interior is to die for and the staff are extremely joyous to be around. The prices are great👍 and the menu is immense with a dish for everyone. When in Sutton, it's the place to be.

In my home town Sutton and have been recently coming here for breakfast lunch and dinnner. Great friendly staff and top food for the price! Never let's me and the kids down!

We are regular customers as we live nearby. It's a really nice place, good food and the staff very polite.

I cannot comprehend the reviews. Who deep fries sausages these days? Or serves grey peas? But if greasy stodge floats your boat, you'll do well here. On the plus side, the staff are all very good...

What can I say about Poppins great food, great service, friendly environment food always fresh they don't skimp on food they allow you to create a meal ie of you only want sausage and chips that's exactly what you get if you ask for a small chips that's what you get been going here for sometime and had not one complaint food is always hot and fresh I can't rate them high enough xx

Visited Poppins Sutton on Sunday with my other half for the first time and can say that it was one of the best resturants I have been in, The service and friendliness of the staff was outstanding and the food was excellent. Swiftly served and well priced. The layout was very good and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. I Will definately be returning soon.

I've been coming here for at least 15 years or so with my mum and dad. Never had a problem. Lovely food at great prices. Try the maxi grill and chocolate milkshake ;)

Having been disappointed that the BHS breakfast was 'off menu' we searched for an alternative .....Well yes, it's quick and jolly but the food is average and they need to Google what exactly constitutes a Spanish omelette . Oh and surely you can do scrambled eggs as a breakfast option ?Won't be returning given that we noticed Patisserie Valerie down the road do breakfasts as well ( scrambled egg - no problem ) . However , the beans , sausages , bacon , extra mushrooms and tomato did what the tin suggests . Nice tea .

Have been visiting this cafe for around 7/8 years now and its definitely the best cafe in Sutton by far!!All the guys who work in the Cafe are so friendly and happy always!Food is always very quick so you're not waiting around for ages, also they pile it on your plate always leaving you sooo stuffed you cannot eat for a few hours.This little Cafe is so cheap for the portion sizes aswell and it's all so yummy. It can get very busy around lunch time but I take that as a good thing because it's very well liked by everyone who eats from there.Great place!

This review is for the Poppins Restaurant in Sutton. Hygiene rating of 5 displayed on front door. Clean restaurant with plenty of room inside. Staff polite and smart, good value breakfast and afternoon meals. I had a breakfast omelette, it was tasty, large and very reasonably priced. Didn't have to wait too long for it to be served. No complaints about this establishment.

Been here a few times, they serve a nice breakfast and their portions are always generous. I especially love there strawberry milkshakes. The staff are always friendly and provide a good service. Great value for money!!

even considering i'm from a country with 4.000 km coast extension, Poppins Fish and chip was superb, i was absolutely delighted with its flavor and texture. sided with a nice pickle dresing, mixture was just perfect.if i come back again to London, Poppins will be a must to go in my trip.i wanna come back again!PD: try beers, also very good

Poppins Restaurant is always worth a visit when in Sutton around lunchtime. The food is reasonable yet still of a good quality, and the staff are always very friendly... on a novelty note, love the menu being in pence!The decor could do with some updating, but well worth a visit.

If you are in Sutton, Surrey and want a good breakfast/lunch, Poppins is the place to go. Very varied menu. The omelettes are so big they hang over the edge of the plate. Either order with chips, salad or whatever you fancy. The jacket potatoes are so large I defy anyone to find bigger ones elsewhere. The food is always freshly cooked and the portions are extremely generous. It is a table service restaurant and the staff are friendly and helpful. We (my husband and myself) have never paid more than £10 for both of us when ordering a lunch. Their salads are very nice and plenty to choose from. If you like desserts, then you are in for a treat. Obviously if you order dessert after your huge lunch, it will be more than £10 for two people, but we find lunch is more than enough, and we like our food. I have been known to leave some on my plate because I cannot manage it all. Treat yourself and have a meal in Poppins if you are in the Sutton area. They are at the top end of the High Street. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

I mean, it looks down market and grim from the exterior so I would never have chosen to eat out here - but someone I know recommended it to me so I thought I ought to check it out. I wish I hadn't bothered. It's cheap, yes. But the food is oily and soggy and unpleasant. The place is loud with, frankly, cockneys. I couldn't help but overhear a man being rude about foreigners. Poppins is a workmen's cafe..it really shouldn't be so highly rated on TripAdvisor. It's very misleading when fine dining restaurants like Brasserie Vacherin appear lower down the list than this place.

As always fantastic food, massive portions, always hot, lovely service and yummy milkshakes. I had the mixed grill and it was delicious I would highly recommend this restaurant :)

Best thing I can say is that the staff were friendly. Had a breakfast here which featured fried eggs with the white still runny, over fatty bacon and the cheapest nastiest sausages I have ever tasted.Maybe the rest of the menu is better (which could explain all the good reviews) but I have no intention of finding out.

Have used this cafe for a number of years. The staff are really friendly and the service very quick. They do a super breakfast and they have a very varied menu. Great for daytime dining. Recommend.

This little café is at the top of Sutton high street and is ideal for lunch. You will come out full as their portions are large and the cost is low in comparison. You will not beat the service and once visited you will become a regular.

This is a traditional style English cafe in the heart of the Sutton shopping area.Don't expect the quality to match up to the Savoy Grill or the Dorchester hotel. However, the food use of reasonable quality and is fairly priced.Friendly welcoming and hard-working staff.

Whenever we go shopping in Sutton and fancy breakfast this is the only place to go . It has a food and hygiene certificate of a 5 star and the service is always efficient and friendly

I have been coming here for years, the customer service in this place is faultless. They are always so nice and friendly.There is quite a range of food on offer including breakfast, jacket potatoes, omelettes, burgers etc. Portions are huge, but the meals are such great value. They also have a range of children's meals including jacket potatoes, pizza, turkey dinosaur etc.They have a lot of 'old school' desserts like banana split and brown derby.They do hot drinks, range of coffees, teas and hot chocolate. Soft drinks include the usual fizzy drinks and juice. They also do milkshakes which are lovely. Brilliant place, I would come back more if I lived nearer. But be aware this place can get really busy.

This is a great value little restaurant on Sutton High St, serving a variety of proper English dishes at great prices. The service is very friendly and quick and perfect if you want to grab a quick breakfast or lunch in the middle of a busy day. The milkshakes are great and they even offer takeaways as well.

Excellent! Very clean. Lovely food and great service. My husband fancied a full english breakfast. I'm a vegatarian so was expecting that I'd have to order a toasted teacake or something but was really impressed with the veggie breakfast! We cant wait to go back!

Poppins at Sutton Surrey is a great place to eat, children friendly great value for money. I and my family have been coming to Poppins since 1998 when we moved to Sutton from London.They have huge portions so be hungry for your visit, staff are always polite and ready to take your order and ready for a laugh. There is loads on offer and lovely coffee great kids menu, kids must try the Milkshakes they are made from ice cream lovely, first thing my children ask for . We have moved to West Sussex but still go back every time we visit Surrey and the staff still remember us, wouldn't go anywhere else for a quick hugh meal ..

There are several cafes in Sutton. Most of them I have tries. This is one that I will never try again.Good points, the bacon and egg were ok. The rest of the food is terrible.Sausages cheap and nasty, Peas , tinned and terrible. The burger is the cheapest most tasteless that I have ever tried. Makes car boot burger vans food taste like heaven. Please try anywhere else of the many eateries in Sutton. Give it a big miss.

No matter which time or day you visit your greeted by friendly staff who give you time to study their extensive menu. From breakfast, snacks and main meals. Food is always freshly cooked, well presented and very large portions. Staff will accomodate your preferences: we like our tea strong and our bacon crispy, they always get it right. If you only have small appetite you will surely have to leave some of your chosen dish.

I wouldn't go here at all but my partner loves it for a quick, cheap cooked breakfast when we're hungover. Its sort of like the town centre cafe/restaurants that every town had a few of in the 70s and 80s. Its clean, its cheap and the service here is really good. The guys who work here are very friendly and very fast. The food is OK as long as you know what to expect for what you're paying. Ive not had a bad meal here, but I certainly wouldnt recommend it as a place to take anyone you want to impress. Most of the clientelle when we've been in have been old people and extended families. Your typical town centre shoppers in somewhere like Sutton. I've eaten here about 30 times in the last few years and I'm sure I'll be in here again one morning soon, looking hungover and tired.There are only two real downsides for me... 1) They insist on putting three different large, laminated menus on your table, alongside salt, pepper and sauce. So you end up with no table space; and 2) I'm always left feeling fatter when I leave and I wish they would stop tempting me in when I'm weak and hungover!!

Poppins is a great breakfast diner, good value for money and a nice change for breakfast or lunch. Staff are really friendly and the food doesn't dissapoint
