The best restaurants in Brookmans Park and Little Heath Welwyn Hatfield East of England

Been here many years ago and I really enjoyed.

Very disappointing experience. Was once a regular visitor many years ago (think back to the days of Crêpes Suzette being made at your table) but having moved further away, we have not been back for some time. Having arrived slightly early, we were left unattended for a while and were told our table wasn’t ready and we could wait outside. Great. Finally got to the table, was left for around 20 minutes with the menus and no service. Asked a passing waiter if someone could take our order and they sent someone to take food order but still no one took the drinks order. Starter arrived promptly. All very delicious but calamari portion was very small. Main course arrived. It was cold and the Yorkshire pudding was like a brick. We asked for more gravy. Twice. Again, no one came to take more drinks orders and we sat with empty glasses. We chased up for a waitress to take our dessert order and asked for the bill at the same time. Some time later neither desserts nor bill had arrived. A waitress came over to take dessert order and we told her the order had already been taken and the bill requested. She scuttled off and came back to apologise to say it hadn’t been put through and took it again. Bill arrived and it was for the wrong table. It was clear many tables were getting terrible service and there was much grumbling around us. I was reluctant to pay the service charge but in the end we did so as not to cause any scenes. We will not return.

Excellent restaurant. Friendly staff and great food.

Nothing but good things to say. Big breakfasts, wide range of options (including wide range of drinks). Food is always spot on and served quickly. Open on Sundays.

Very friendly family run business. Chips were best I’ve had in a long while.

Chateaubriand was excellent, great vegetables and onions, and I have to say I have never taken lettuce home in a box before (!) but they give you so much and the chilli dressing was fabulous; had it with dinner at home the following day and still crunchy. Excellent service from Alfie.

Menu limited but adequate. Food freshly prepared and good. Very few customers which was disappointing. One of our group disabled~no disabled bay and poor access. Staff pleasant and helpful. I wish them well ~they deserve it.

Call it an Indian restaurant is an insult to all the other authentic indian restaurants. Wost curries we ever had. Flat beer and flat soft drinks. Food Hygiene Inspector needs to pay a visit asap.

We had a really nice time at this local pub, really friendly and accommodating staff, cosy atmosphere, suitable for small children. We had a prebooked meal and the reason I have not rated them as highly as I could have is because they ran out of some of our orders and we had to wait quite a while before we could eat which we thought was strange as we pre-ordered the food. As I said though the staff were lovely and really saved the day with their top level service. I have some personal experience issues as well, they started a pub quiz before we had finished eating which was quite jarring, there is kind of a separate dining area but we also had a small two person table right next to me on the far end where two people were drunkenly talking really loudly about football, it was a bit of a sensory overload and I felt quite drained by the time we left. Overall it was a nice experience, food was well prepared, traditional pub food, the staff were friendly and helpful and I would recommend it for food or just drinks.

The walk through the bar to the restaurant is not the most welcoming as it was full of local people having fun drinking. once you managed to make your way through the scrum was greeted with a smile by Eden and walked through to our table. The noise from the bar is very intrusive, so makes conversation needing to be also loud. Drinks order taken and suggestions made. Food order menu and specials explained and some good recommendations from Eden. We went for Asparagus with Hollandaise and Poached egg and the Duck Scrumpet. Both of which were very tasty, and I would have the scrumpet again, very nice. Mains were braised beef pie and Gammon Rib eye in maple glaze, the beef was drop dead melt in the mouth, and yay cabbage cooked properly, a great winning combination. Gammon tasty. Only gripe was I am not a potato chip fan, and they don't do sweet potato fries only courgette fries, also not a fan of them. Throughout the meal Eden was attentive yes not over bearing, she had good knowledge of the food. All in all a very nice evening, The bar started to quieten down post 2130 !!!!

Food quality, taste and value for money is exceptional. My sister and I often meet here for a meal and are always greeted by a friendly member of staff. Service and atmosphere are great. Overall always a fantastic experience.

Such a shame, they charge expensive price but the food is way too bland, if you want real food this place is not the place to go. Very sloppy, flavourless food, asked for spicy and the waitress said yes, however 3 times I’ve been there the food Was absolutely bland. I hope The owner do Something about the kitchen staff .. the food is shockingly bad.

Nathan our server is customer friendly, attentive, and always happy to help. We were rather disappointed to learn the blue light card discount is no longer available.

Wonderful food, all needs catered for, asked for well cooked naan, as I love burnt bits and it was fluffy and burnt bits. Dhansaks amazing flavour too

We booked as part of the dine and stay package.we was a little confused on arrival as there was no one at reception and the place seemed completely empty. In the end I called a number and then someone came and checked us in. The room was very spacious however fairly unclean and could do with updating. We had a dinner booking at 7 and left our room and followed the signs to the “restaurant” where we waited for 10 minutes and again there was no staff, we had to go walking and try and find people . Once we were seated the service was fine and meal was nice.
