Bacon sausage and egg sandwich so soggy it was falling apart trying to eat it, bacon was way over ✔️

It was exactly what I expected. A decent cafe serving all day breakfast and more. The food was good, fairly quiet, lots of available seating and a car park at the side.

Proper old style transport cafe

It's a great place to hang out, meet new people and catch up on the latest hot news. Coffee is good and the variety of sandwiches is great!

It’s handy that this cafe is here because there isn’t really anywhere else to go if you’re just walking (we had an appointment nearby early in the morning). We popped in for breakfast after being drawn in by the reviews but sadly it didn’t live up to its hype. The service was ok, the cleanliness of the place was fine and they had an interesting selection of fizzy drinks. We each ordered a breakfast and both of them didn’t live up to the reviews (apart from the sausages-they were tasty). It was all sort of slopped on the plate and the fried egg had been overcooked. There was lots of toast but the coffee was just an instant one and not a great one at that. We’ve both enjoyed some really nice breakfasts at other establishments and found that this one at the Rookery Cafe, just didn’t turn out to be worth the time or the price. We didn’t go their for gourmet food and we didn’t come out very impressed.

Wonderful choice of freshly cooked food. Had one of the breakfast selections. Great value. Decent ingredients, cooked well.

Quick stop off as my cuz wanted a burger and a brew. Staff friendly, place was spotless and the food was better than expected. Not quite your greasy Joes! Cannot believe I've driven past this hundreds of times in last 13 years and this was my first visit! Try it.

My first visit, a group of us on motorbikes braved the wet and came for a late breakfast. Very fast counter service and fast delivery of our chosen meals, don't think any of us had the same. The staff were busy but attended to us well, no complaints whatsoever. It's not the Ritz, it's a roadside cafe and offers good food, good service, very reasonable prices and friendly staff. Exactly what we were expecting and exactly what we got. Can't ask for more. As a roadside cafe, I would recommend it.

How did I not see this cafe before as I passed it loads of times in the past . Clean? = yes.. nice food ? = yes.. is there parking ? = YES ( a great big gravel/dusty almost Supermarket size that CAN cope with a good few BIG H.G.V.'s ).. reasonably priced ? = yeah I'd say ... plenty of seating in and out .. I could go on a bit more but look if you're hungry and and worried about parking there's even a Kebab Van there which I'm told opens in the evenings just give it a try .... it's not the Savoy Hotel but it's.. busy to say the least and they coped well and the customers didn't seem to be waiting long at all for their food , safe and a really good atmosphere and the staff are friendly and the toilets are VERY clean . An easy 9.5/10 ( my car got a bit dusty lol ... 😎 )

Haven't been in the cafe for a while. I've visited the kebab van in the car park several times. Top notch kebabs. Lovely.

Used as a meeting point for a rideout last week. Nice big car park, £1 council coffee although they do the fancy stuff, pleasant helpful staff, they take cards so what's not to like. Didnt try the food but what I saw looked great..

Pulled over today and the car park was full , so drove on to the pub up the road but it was shut, so glad the pub was shut went back to the rookery despite it being rammed food was extremely quick , tasted unreal and the place was spotless . Loads of parking so if it’s full don’t be put off your food is less than 10mins away 100% going back

Today was the first time coming into this area. Apart from being overcharged on my oyster, being and finding this cafe was like a breath of fresh air, as I had arrived too early. Had a really great earl grey just to calm my nerves before my interview. As I know I won't be passing by any time soon, I hope I do!!!!! Amazing atmosphere and service 🥰

The food is consistently superb and fairly priced, the staff friendly but not intrusive and the cafe immaculately clean. It's easy to see why it is so popular, even locally renowned.

a nice cafe on the Gt North rd serving wide range of food inc all day breakfast! I had a very tasty fry-up, all freshly made to order and served by friendly staff. Popular with truckers from the view of the car park and open from 630am! Well worth a stop off!

Go there most lunch times getting the falafel wrap, which is great they do a vegan option! Staff are lovely and friendly and never disappointed by their tasty goods.
