Megan's In The Garden City Restaurant in Welwyn Hatfield

We took advantage of the Neighbours Night which was really well priced and the food was lovely. I went for the calamari with a peri peri sauce and the open chicken flatbread, both of which were great. The decor is pretty, the atmosphere is warm and the staff were attentive without being overbearing. Great stuff.

First time at Megan’s and the experience was 10/10. Great restaurant ambience that was met with an amazing dining experience with quality food and drinks.

Excellent service as always but the steaks were chewy and tasteless. Would pay more for a better cut.

Good range of breakfast options in a well designed attractive space. The avocado on toast with poached eggs was excellent (better than the Wolseley's version).

A lovely restaurant with good interior decoration and allows dogs. 🐕🐩 The food is very well prepared and nicely presented. Tastes great and the staff aim to please. They cater for vegetarians and vegans too. I only wish the parking was better, but that's down to the council.

Should of came here sooner . We drove from London to this place and we surely didn’t regret it . This is my new go to place now to take people . Outstanding seating arrangements with ample amount of space . Service provided by Honey was over expectations and the food really feels fresh and portions are very tidy and appealing . Their menu is loaded and really has something for everyone . Highly recommend , best to book in advance

Gili was absolutely brilliant!! The whole staff were infact, and made sure we were well looked after, especially having our 17 month baby with us who can be a handful at times!! They all made us feel so welcomed and accommodated for. The food was insane and the cookie dough was out of this world!!! Highly recommended.

Stumbled upon here and very grateful that I did! The food is amazing, I had the double chicken kebab and it was 10/10. There was lots to choose from on the menu as well so I’ll definitely be back again to try something different 🙌 Waitress was friendly and the service was good!!

Dinner for 2 cost was £72 but got a bill for £85.3. That is a 19% service charge. The food was good and the service was ok. We won't be returning!

Lovely little gem. Many Turkish restaurants around, but the menu at Meghan's kitchen is very different & sits way about most Turkish restaurants. Livery soothing & artistic decor. Definitely a visit & then many more visits took my daughters there the 1stt7me today & they were bowled over. Already talking about going back.

Stuart our waiter was excellent as was the food and vibe.

We came in last minute for lunch- 8 people ranging from 4 months to (erm) 60(+).... Stuart greeted us all, found out the names of the children and addressed them directly. Although we had passed the brunch menu he spoke to the kitchen and they allowed us to order pancakes for the kids anyway. Food is great, love the cocktails. Ambience great for any age (we saw guys working on their laptops, my husband regularly meets budiness contacts there, young families, older couples and solo customers) Nothing too much.

We went there for Sunday brunch. Stuart was our waiter and was exceptional- friendly, helpful and knowledgable. The food and portions were amazing! Highly recommended

Very dissapointing experience yesterday - food was over cooked, sloppiness in presentation and far below what it had been when we first ate there. Service was slow and the waitress dropped some glasses next to us which shattered right by us - there was no apology as they carried on clearing up around us. The buttermilk chicken was over cooked and dry, the hummus poorly presented in a bowl with cold pitta and generally the food was below average. We were sat near ‘the pass’ and it was disturbing to see how long food sat on the counter before being served to the customers.

Not very warm but was early evening!

As ever amazing service from Stuart. He adds that personal friendly touch. Always makes a fuss of my mum. He is kind and always has time for you. Food as ever gorgeous. Hence why we return every week. Plus seeing Stuart. Thank you x

Really nice brunch. Lovely atmosphere with a good buzz. Was a nice level of 70-80% busy so we could walk in still but plenty going on. Felt really child friendly with crayons for the kids menu. We were seated at the sofas which give a really relaxed atmosphere. Really enjoyed our meghan’s & veggie breakfast. Shakshuka tomato sauce was lovely. Really good, friendly & attentive service (by Stuart). Will definitely go back with our family. I’ve also ordered delivery for their wraps & they were lovely and fresh

Friendly but professional service. Tasty breakfasts with the Megan touch. Loved the Avo on sourdough with pomegranate, chilli and seeds with a side of gorgeous garlic mushrooms!

It was my first time visiting Megan’s. Great interior design with lively vibe and bright. The food was okay but I had uneven steak cooked which didn’t really enjoy but Stuart as a great waiter, ensure that we were well looked after with great customer services. Although, I felt that the menu was very limited in variety.

Had brunch here and honestly the best mushrooms I’ve had, full of flavour and very good. Excellent food overall with lovely atmosphere and decor, would definitely come again.

A great new find for us in Welwyn Garden. Delicious food, generous portions, well-seasoned, all very tasty. Lovely smoothies. Service has been great. In particular, Anna has made us feel very welcome on all of our visits with excellent and friendly service, going above and beyond to help me celebrate my birthday.

Met a friend for brunch today and the food drinks and service were all fabulous. I’m GF and their bread is a step up from the usual blandness served up in many restaurants. The smashed avocado on toast was excellent!

We enjoyed an early evening meal and chose from the Neighbours Nights menu. The staff were friendly and engaging and the atmosphere was very relaxed.

Wonderful atmosphere with incredibly tasty food served by a lovely man named Stuart. Strongly recommended.

Stuart is fantastic. Always goes over and above to make our meal more relaxed and enjoyable. Would recommend to anyone with young kids. 10/10.

Firstly, we were greeted by a rude server, arrogant and patronising. He then had the cheek to ask for the service charge at the end while making rude comments throughout my time there. The only saving grace was the coffee! Will not be in a rush to come back.

Staff and food at Megan’s in WGC are consistently great. Definitely our goto place in WGC for breakfast with the kids when we need a break from doing it ourselves! Steve served us this morning and nothing was too much trouble.

Large dog friendly cafe restaurant on the main strip in Welwyn Garden City with a good range of different foods most with a Middle Eastern slant. The place is beautifully decorated (bouji to quote my daughter!) as hopefully you can see from the pictures. Dogs are allowed throughout which is a real bonus too. Had the falafel bowl with beetroot, hummus, pomegranate seeds and tabouli was divine.

The Service provided by Laura was best ever .. she gave attention to detail in most pleasing way …

I went here with my friend and his family and I was really impressed. The service was really friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent. A great choice of drinks abs a good variety of food on the menu. I'm vegetarian and the options were good. We went late on a wednesday night, the week after new year, so it was quite quiet.

Myself and my daughter came here for dinner, the food was delicious and great value for the money. Anna was very attentive, she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed with a smile on her face. Thank you!

First visit to celebrate husbands birthday and we were very impressed. Good size portion of food - glad we didn't have a starter as just the main filled us up!

Probably the worst meal I've had in a quite a while. If you like undercooked flat breads and meagre portions then you'll be satisfied. I certainly wasn't and the prices are excessive for portion size. £14 for a large glass of wine is also over the top in my opinion for Welwyn. Head round to Misya for similar fair at lower prices and better portions. Thanks but no thanks.

Let’s start with the surprise 20% added service charge. Presumably they don't want repeat business.. The lifeblood of any restaurant. I refused to pay the service charge or indeed any tip. The £5.50 half pint of beer and 2 cokes £3.50 each would more than cover service. Ridiculous prices for drinks. Don't they know there is a cost of living crisis. Don't they realise that reasonable prices encourages return business. Don't they realise they are not in central London. We eat out three times weekly and will certainly never return to Megans. Or recommend to friends or my staff. Value for money is the name of the game. The food. Well the fondue was mush and bread. Nicely hidden in the serving dish. Not very cheesey. The calamari starter was more like a taster. Main meals were actually nice. But not worth the price. The deserts again over priced and average taste. Two nights ago we went to covent garden Dishoom restaurant. Less expensive. More food. Excellent service. And yes we paid the 12.5% service charge. And have been back 5 times this year. As a business consultant for some 30 years my prediction is that this business will be closed with in the next 18 months. It opened in Apri 2022. And at the pricing levels and value for money against all the competition and a growing cost of living crisis will not sustain profitable to stay open.

I loved plant based charred lamb with bread here!! It was soo delicious! It would be nice if u add vegan meat in the starters as well! 💚 service is also great.

Overall the honest opinion for this restaurant is that it has a pleasant atmosphere and offers some nice details to an authentic Middle East kind of vibe. The drinks which I have had have been great such as the Hot Chocolate and the Iced Coffee which has a very unique twist to it. However the missing stars in the review is for the food and the value for money. I have dined here a few times and the prices they offer for the meals do not reflect the quality. The breakfast is simple and could do with some spicing up, the lamb kebab which I had as they did not have the Swarma was very mediocre, considering better quality is offered from London based restaurants in Edgware Road and surprising are cheaper then £15, and lastly the biggest disappointment I had was the Baklava bite which be completely honest was small and very much not worth the money. It is a nice operation and definitely one to visit, but I am conscious that it may just the the one visit that makes you realise there are other places which offer more for your money and perhaps better quality and better food.

Order via deliveroo. Charged £2 per sauce and the pots are both tiny and not even half way full. The meat was chewy too and the bread was hard in some places. Not acceptable at these prices.

Wonderful service and wonderful food. A real treat to have in Welwyn garden city. Staff are great especially Stewart who is always so welcoming and a great help getting our children settled and happy in the restaurant.

I’ve visited Meghan’s several times in the past, mostly for coffee and cakes. Last night I visited with friends for dinner. Meghans let itself down big time. Starters were served without plates (we had to ask), the water glasses we asked for didn’t come (we had to ask again), the lady who took our order forgot the put through the Main course on the system….so we sat waiting over an hour before asking someone else about it….who admitted it hadn’t been put through the first time. The meals finally arrived and my double chicken open kebab was very difficult to eat. The chicken was dry and overcooked. It needed much chewing…….so the whole experience was somewhat dissapointing! We were given free coffees but realised that we had been charged for Service….only after we had paid. Not a good experience and we won’t be dining again in the evening. You really do need to get better than this!

A hidden gem!!! Very high quality food, original and tasty. The place is very well decorated. On top of that, the waitresses were very helpful and warm, especially Ana! Will definitely come again.

Booked Megan's for an evening meal for 30 people on a Saturday night and it could not have been more perfect. Fantastic staff, very well organised - Hannah who waited our tables was super efficient and friendly. Sharing platters were really delicious and perfect for the large group, and Coeliacs were well catered for too.

Great service from Stewart, he was really friendly! Food was delicious. Even got a birthday brownie and a song!

I visited this restaurant for the first time today and I was amazed by the cozniess of the place and fairytale-like atmosphere. The food and coffee was delicious! And the preparation time was quite short during the Friday evening time when you expect it to be a bit busier. Everything was fresh and great quality. I cannot wait to visit this place again soon and try some more positions from the menu.
