Methi Indian in Welwyn Hatfield

Top Indian, no service from Paul 'H' Chowdery on the last visit but the other Hatters done good, great flavours & still good value for the Rupees !!

I used to order deliveries from here quite regularly up until a year ago when they put meat in a vegetarian order. They have this section under each dish on their online ordering that says ‘special requests’ which I think is a great idea. I put under one of the starter options that I’d like to change the chicken tikka to paneer tikka in brackets I’m vegetarian, they did that but served it with a meat samosa which I didn’t realise until I bit into it, if this was an allergy issue it would be very serious. I ordered on Saturday, again changing the chicken to paneer and the samosa to make it clear I’m vegetarian. When it arrived the whole dish was meat. I rang them they said a manager would call me back, they never did. They clearly don’t care about this.

Fantastic restaurant, excellent service, perfect food! Having only tried a Naga curry once before (somewhere else), I thought I'd give this one a go, and I was NOT disappointed! Too many 'Hot' curries just set out to burn without any flavour, this isn't one of them, The 'Naga Mirchi Bhuna' was full of flavour, satisfying my taste buds before the heat crept up, which obviously it did! They are very hot chilies, but again, it tastes fantastic 💪💪 The missus had the Shashlik, which we both enjoyed! 😉

I placed a delivery order and waited for 1.5 hours for the food to arrive. The starters were served cold, and the main dish was only lukewarm. I called to inform the staff, and they assured me they would ensure better quality next time. While I enjoy the food and appreciate the reliable delivery service and lovely driver, I believe there is room for improvement in customer service. The food's quality is always good, but I was disappointed that it arrived cold, and no action was taken to rectify it.

😊 if you want full on flavour packed with spices, fresh ingredients and good quality meat the methi is the place. With out doubt the BEST Indian for miles. The staff are friendly knowledgeable and very accommodating. Any changes you want to dishes is no problem. They cater for all dietary needs. I recommend buffet night Wednesdays that way you get starter, main veg/ rice and bread for a set fee. Great value for money.

Great place, always good quality, eating in or takeout

Just pop In for a late meal on the way home. Have to say I’ve used this place so many times - it never fails me - so much choice & always have Hibs to guide you to something that would be just what you want. Very helpful very friendly - good value & always feel special when I leave here

We had a really delicious meal at Methi, the service was excellent as was the food. This is now our new go-to for a curry as the one in our village isn't anywhere near as good as Methi.

Went there on Tuesday night very disappointing. Restaurant looked like it could do with a real DEEP clean and so could the waiter who was friendly but his white shirt was covered in grime I would have left at this point but my friend had already ordered...food was awful.

Great food and will be back soon.

I have only ordered a delivery from here and without doubt it is the best Indian restaurant outside of London. They have a really helpful tool on their menu page under each individual item that lets you add a ‘special request’ I was able to alter a mixed starter from one part chicken tikka to a paneer tikka. The whole online ordering menu is so easy to use, navigate and order from. The staff are so incredibly friendly and the delivery men are really lovely too. I cannot recommend more highly and I have told so many people about this wonderful restaurant and their accommodating staff

A really lovely way to start the weekend. Great food. Service was excellent and very good prices. We will be going again and taking our friends. Very impressed! Bonus is they deliver to our house too so we have a new take away restaurant into the bargain! Win-win ❤️

Best Indian restaurant around, wouldn't go anywhere else!

Fantastic! Value for money, option to get a discount if you collect, delivery very prompt and food delicious. My wife is super picky with food and she absolutely destroyed everything we ordered!

We have been to the Methi about 6 times now and had take away 2. Each time they havent disappointed. The food is always hot and great. On a wednesday they do a great value for money offer which attracts many people. We tend to avoid wednesdays as have the regular menu and the service is a little slower due to the popularity. The staff are also very friendly and helpful with the menu as we like to try new things each time we go. We look forward to our next visit.

Ordered a takeaway here the other night. The food was fresh and really good quality. Definitely the best Indian I've had since moving to the area

My husband and I have been using this restaurant for 10 years or more. We have taken our grandchildren, our children and our friends, and have always had superb service and excellent food. Wouldn’t go anywhere else for an Indian meal.

Unfortunately the food didn’t meet the 5 star reviews. I ordered king prawn masala and got three prawns, it didn’t match the price tag and the food was bland. Very underwhelmed by the food.

Mr Zia is fine gentleman and he knows how to look after his customers.

First time here and have to say this was one of the best Indian meals I can remember having. Staff were friendly and helpful with information about the food. The food itself was excellent. I had Vegetable Dhansak which was just right, the accompanying Nan bread was light and flaky just how I like it. Will definitely be going back soon even though it is a bit out of area for me.

After deliberating where to grab a great curry before going to the cinema, we came across Methi in Brookmans Park. I have to say not only was the food the best curry we've ever had, the staff and ambience was fantastic. Advice was given on which combinations work best rather than just taking our order, the presentation of food was impressive and the service was second to none. Well done we look forward to returning soon!

We have been eating here for many years and it’s still the best Indian. During the pandemic we felt completely safe, we had Temperate checks in the door along side the hand sanitizers, tables had clear separates around them, paper menu that were thrown away after. The food is fancy, freshly cooked and just lovely. The staff are like family to us, they are all hard working, always full of knowledge on the food they serve, even in busy times, most nights, they have the time to help you. Advisable to book as it’s so popular. Mo is very professional, but still chatty and charming, all the ladies love him. We wouldn,t eat anywhere else, thanks guys for another great meal x

We went to Methi last night and have to say we were very impressed. We had our temperature taken at the door and sanitized our hands, all the staff wore masks and our contact details were taken after we had sat down. All the tables were separated by plastic screens. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Service was good considering that the restaurant was full. 5 stars and we will go again

Food is outstanding and very impressed with the safety measures taken in relation to COVID 19. Screens, encouraged hand sanitising, masks worn, guest temperatures taken before entry and general consciousness to make the restaurant as safe as possible. Really made us feel comfortable and at ease and able to relax. Can’t recommend the food, staff and establishment enough. A real gem. Thanks

Very impressed with the measures taken for Covid-19. Servers wearing masks, took temperature via forehead sensor, offered disposable cutlery or disinfected normal cutlery. The food was incredible, cannot recommend enough.

A great evening at Methi for my birthday with my family. Everything was organised and safe in our current COVID situation, excellent food and service as always. Well done guys good job! I highly recommend going along, knowing you’ll be safe there in these unprecedented time.

We had a fantastic meal in the Methi tonight following the reopening after the lockdown. The safety precautions and high hygiene standards provided for a very pleasant dining experience. The food and service were excellent as always! We look forward to visiting the restaurant once a week as we did before the lockdown.

My husband and I Have been eating at this lovely little restaurant for years and it would be hard to find better Indian food anywhere in Hertfordshire. The staff are friendly and welcoming, And the service is excellent. We have recommended it to several friends who all think it’s great.

Unfortunately they do not cope very well under pressure so when they’re busy, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

Husband and I on our monthly date night chose to go here for a meal over other restaurants due to the good reviews we had seen. We don't live in the are but thought we would try Methi. The restaurant is quite basic and tables very close together, however the food was great and very tasty. What spoilt it for is was the slow service and one guy working there kept overlooking us to attend, and chat, to their regular customers, which was not professional. May go back again one day.

This has got to be one of my favourite Indian restaurants in London. They have many variety of foods. I went there with my cousins and we enjoyed a lot. The view of restaurant is very amazing. The restaurant staff was very friendly when it comes to ordering, fast food service, everything is astounding. We tried some non-veg food and we really liked it. There were played some Indian Bollywood song in background that makes that moment more special. If you looking for some nice flavoured Indian restaurant and you're in London, I recommend you this restaurant. I am pretty sure you guys really like it and definitely you will enjoy their food.

Had a table booked for 2000, arrived on time, order taking was slow. Didnt see any food (starters) until 2050, way too long to wait, and then waited again for mains.Clearly not enough staff to service the customers at tables even though they were not full. Staff were more interested in processing the takeaways and deliveries.As for the food, it was ok, very much standard Indian restaurant fare. The sheekh kebab was rather dry, prawn on puri was nice. The lamb dish was ok, but very stingy on the lamb with tiny chunks. Chicken dish was good. Cheese naan didnt taste of cheese.It was ok, not sure we'd go again though.

Excellent food and service but no atmosphere as very few dining unusually

This has got to be one of my favourite Indian restaurants I've dined in. Since moving into the area we tend to eat in or have a take away and the food is always spot on! It's never greasy and always full of flavour. I have taken many friends here even from Cyprus and they absolutely love the food. I always forget to leave a review so on my last visit which was last Sunday I though I've got to leave feedback . The waiters are always friendly and helpful when it comes to ordering. We willbe going again this Friday! Looking forward to my King Prawn shashlik !

They have a good variety of Indian food for all tastes including vegetarian options. We had a balti chicken with vegetable curry ( mild) with bhindi bhaji, tikka chicken starter, mutter paneer ( vegetarian) plus rice & a large nan. Good value and excellent taste.

We mainly order takeaway from Methi and every time the food has been great. Full of flavour and not floating in oil! Great portions and very reasonably priced... and of course the staff are fantastic. Thank you. Keep up the good work guys esp Zia.

We had our christmas dinner for our staff last Wednesday. although we normally go to the West End, this year we had Methi serve us a speciallly ordered dinner. They served exceptionally fine cuisine, well cooked with special attention given to all our guests.They made us feel very welcome and although they were very busy they took time to ensure that we well serviced throught our meal. Excellent food and great service

We came for the Wednesday night banquet which was £11.30 per head for a main, rice or naan and a side. It was served very quickly and the staff were very friendly.

The food was lovely but unfortunately ruined by badly behaved drunken locals who acted as if they owned the restaurant with no regard for other diners shouting across to each other

The food and the service were both very good. The portions were just right and the food served freshly prepared, piping hot. The only negative is the absence of a website giving access to the menu. The menu could be found, eventually, on Facebook. I hope they get the website up and running soon.

Another great evening & delicious food at the Methi Brookman's Park

Popped in for a takeaway on Sunday night. They lose a star for indifferent welcome. Food decent, though. Nice onion bhaji, generous chunks of chicken in the curries, although could have been more succulent. Will be back.

Food was average. Restaurant wasn't busy and the drinks order took 30 minutes to arrive in dribs and drabs. Kitchen seemed overwhelmed. Staff were doing their best but just not good enough to be honest. Overall, disappointing.

We live in Potters Bar (where there are a few Indian Restaurants) but choose to come here as the quality of the food is better, come as often as we can and always welcomed and remembered. Good quality of food and choice would definitely recommend.
