The best restaurants in Orsett Thurrock East of England

Reviews are subjective, of course, but when I looked at them I couldn’t believe I was about to write about the same place. I don’t know if they are under new management or have had a massive change in staff but we did not have the best experience. Our starters were ok but the roast beef and accompanying sides were not very good at all. Our beef was overcooked which made it very tough and also without seasoning. The potatoes were just about ok but the veg was not great at all. The servers are all very young girls who really didn’t seem to know what their job was and we felt that it could have been their first day doing this kind of work. Our waitress was the best of the bunch fortunately so we were served drinks promptly. There were very long gaps between courses, especially between the main and dessert which was about 20 minutes. It was almost like they were waiting for everyone in the restaurant to finish their mains before dessert was served. However, when it was, it wasn’t very good at all. I am sorry that this review isn’t better and I do realise that this is just my opinion.

I stayed for one night this week. It’s a quirky place as it’s spread out across a few different buildings down the street. Plenty of free parking. Perfect modern well equipped room. Food in the pub was spot on and a proper cooked breakfast of your own choice. Would certainly stay again and recommend for anyone.

Coming on Mother’s Day for lunch, we expected it to be more crowded and when we came, it wasn’t crowded at all! They supplied us with Ferrero Roche chocolates.The atmosphere was incredible as a singer came here and had a wonderful voice so it was very nice. The roast dinner was AMAZING. When we had dessert me and someone else got the chocolate fudge cake but instead of cream we asked for ice cream. It was an amazing cake and we also got some strawberry’s and blueberry’s and lotus biscoff crumbs. The staff were fantastically friendly and quick. Overall this is the most impressive restaurant experience I’ve ever had.

My husband & I had lunch here, garlic prawns gammon, egg & chips, the food was served fresh, hot and very tasty, we had a chat with the chef, all the staff was friendly, look forward to revisiting.

We went for afternoon tea with our daughter and granddaughter to this rather grand establishment set in well maintained grounds. We had a very pleasant afternoon and finished with a walk around the garden. The service and food was very good and good value.

Absolutely 💯 staff, breakfast, coffee ☕️, views , waiting to do an event In the showground so popped in for breakfast, so glad we did was fabulous 👌 deffo 5 star

Lovely local pub, great atmosphere, very busy when we went, due to the rugby, but didn't have to queue long to get served, will definitely come back

Family and I decided to order a takeaway from the Voujon tonight and we are so glad that we did. The food was absolutely delicious!! We all enjoyed our meals very much, especially the Chicken Biryani. The service was also great and the staff were very helpful. I highly recommend The Voujon, Orsett. Thank you very much 😊

Staff so incompetent unable to scan bar code on the app second time within two weeks. Make a bar code bigger in the app? Train staff?? Get rid of the app???

Went for the carvery on Sunday afternoon. Absolutely fantastic. Great food and plenty of it!! Trevor and the team really smashed it out of the park.
