Friendly pub the chef cooked the cod I had perfectly. good service and food reasonably priced had run out lots of the puddings. I only do old school puddings not a huge fan of Tiramisu or Chocolate brownie. I am more your Apple crumble. or Apple pie. sticky toffee with Dates. bread and butter. Well worth a second visit

The outdoor area is huge and really great, our dogs enjoyed running around and we enjoyed a pint and the food. The staff extremely friendly, chef came to say hi. The experience was lovely snd for sure we will return.

Have been coming here for some years we moved away for a while but now back in the area. The food here is to die for the chef is so passionate about what he puts on the plate. We like here so much that we decided to have our wedding reception here the staff decorated the whole pub for us and nothing was to much trouble we had over 40 to sit down for a wedding breakfast it was very cosy but everyone had a lovely meal and some have since come back for an evening meal on their own. So glad this lovely little gem has not been taken over by a large chain and as long as people use it will remain a lovely place for food. Please try it. but ring first as if not busy they do close early.

Great location. Quiet on a Friday night but the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Will definitely pop back for a full dinner at some point! Recommended to pop in and check out the ducks on the pond 🦆🦆🦆

Lovely location, Dog friendly, Cute pond but could do with some attendance. Inside pub felt a little unapproachable and the food wasn't labelled dietary wise so wasn't too sure what I could have. In the end settled on a halloumi burger which was good enough.

Found this little gem this afternoon. Lovely atmosphere, good service and excellent food, very reasonably priced too. Highly recommend the 'Rib and Rump' with the beef dripping gravy! Absolutely delicious 😋 would definitely come back when we are in the area again!

Visited here a lot for Sunday roast usually good staff and good food. Rang today to see if we could get a table and staff member was rude said no roasts left and they had run out then proceeded to put the phone down! Her attitude was very rude and by her tone of voice she was obviously having a bad day but to be hung up on was no need .

We had a very warm welcome and were seated straight away. Nice menu and very reasonable priced. Staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. We shared a starter (stilton mushrooms and freshly cooked bread, very nice) and both had roast beef with a side of cauliflower cheese, plenty of gravy and horseradish sauce. The food was amazing, the service was attentive, we both enjoyed our Sunday lunches, probably the best roast I've had in a long time. I would definitely recommend going here to anyone I know.

Nice little pub,wasn't too busy when visited ,didn't eat so can't comment on food range or availability, did seem to run out of non alcohol bottle beer (saturaday early evening) - which is odd considering the only way to visit would be by car due to location, slightly set back from road so could be easily missed .seemed to have a nice garden area to side of pub .

Decided to bring out my family’s food and not mine and my sons. They then came out as they was finished to say there was a till glitch which meant ours didn’t go through and they was only going to do it now. Will not be returning.

The food was generally very nice, not sure red cabbage belongs on a roast, but maybe that's just me, the spuds were a little firm, but the rest of the food was incredible, perfect beef & pork, with fantastic crackling. The decor, although clean was a little plain and lacked character, the 2 staff members that served us were very friendly and attentive. We would visit again.

Brilliant food and great service...

Requested a table last minute so was lovely of them to squeeze us in as they was low on roasts . Service at the bar was terrible . We asked for a couple of drinks and paid tor food at the bar . She didn’t tell us to sit down or if we had to wait for drinks she just walked off . So we sat down . No drinks came . Went back to the bar and she had forgot our drinks which happens . But it wasn’t busy in the bar . Had about 7 people in it . My cup of tea came without a saucer and one of our folks had food on it . Food eventually came out . Our side orders didn’t come and when we asked they looked shocked so I guess that was forgotten Aswell. When the pigs in blankets come out the sausages looked anaemic and the bacon looked boiled . My cauliflower cheese was just cauliflower with cheesy water. I asked for another tea and it came back in the cup I already drank from . Potatoes had clearly been sitting there for half hour , could barely cut them . I appreciate for £35 that’s completely reasonable for a roast and we did go late but the service was shocking and we will not be returning .

Had our first lunch from the festive menu today the braised beef was to die for, so tender absolutely perfection such a lovely warm cosy atmosphere love that our small dog was welcome too Thank you ,we will return soon 😊

Can't identify with any of the negative comments. The food was terrific, the staff were excellent and prices good value. It's a pub, so when my four visited on a Sunday there were people watching some football. However, the dining area is separate and we were not disturbed. Tables were well laid and there's a nice view out of the large window. A touch up to a bit of water damage on the ceiling is all I could find wrong. Not bad for a great meal.

Dropped in for a quick pint and a burger, wasn't disappointed! Nice food , good beer as well, Friendly staff too.

Great food and wildlife to keep us entertained whilst waiting

Very friendly staff, chef was happy to venture off menu for dietary needs. Large beer garden and car park. My drinking friends said the ales and lagers were great. We are planning return visit soon

Gone downhill since our last visit. The beautiful beer garden was an abomination. Won't be back. The only plud was the beer was cold and very cheap.

Nice and quite, loads of garden space, just a shame its out the way , so can't have alcohol, unless you get a taxi!!

The staff there are honestly so good, I don't go there often as I don't live close by but I really enjoy it when I do go there

Had a couple of pints and a game of darts. Sunday roast looked and smelt nice. Friendly service by barstaff.

This is the go to pub for a steak 🥩 it's my second visit now and I have to say the food was fabulous, friendly staff too, 5⭐from me

The most beautiful little pub/restaurant with fantastic staff and little poochies!! Thank you for a brilliant evening and the most fresh food! If you want a meal served from frozen in 15 mins go somewhere else, here you spend a little longer waiting but the food is fresh as can be and nothing is too much for the wonderful staff here! Our new go to as we are new to the area

Lovely food. Very friendly staff. Would be nice to have lights around the pond so we could enjoy looking at it in the evening.

The welcome was very friendly and the food was excellent. Not a venue to visit if you are in a hurry as service is very slow. We had to forgo dessert as chef couldn't cope with 5 jacket potatoes and a pizza for another table and dish up our desserts. Not enough staff on and not the first time we have had this issue. Shame.

Awful atmosphere. We arrived 20 minutes before they stop serving and was told that it was too late. (A sign replayed it serves food all day). The back garden was lovely, what a pity there's nothing to make you want to stay .

Nice food wouldnt order fish but curry and hunters chicken excellent

Two of us ordered food at same Time at same table, one meal came out in about 15 mins , the other was half hour later, I was eating on my own , food was ok , bad service

Lovely staff. Hubby had wonderful ham, eggs and chips. My daughter and i had steak and kidney pudding, chips and peas(did ask for mash - the stern reply was "no!"). The puddings were awful. Hard and inedible on the base. Meat not all that. Not cheap either. After payment being made we were offered ice cream. Would have preferred a discount!

We went to the dog and partridge after a funeral and they were extremely attentive, there was loads of food for such a reasonable price and the grounds are lovely. Would definitely recommend!

Its a pub its a bit run down and the hour I was in there the same few people were constantly in and out of the loo maybe they had a bad tummy bug because they kept locking themselves in the cubicle and werent in there for long.

Nice pub with restaurant offset. Huge well kept beer garden, sports tv , not a great deal of range of beers but ok. Nice staff.

Went with a group, everyone who had Sunday lunch said it was nice but the Turkish trio kebab special was 3 tiny bits of meat ( starter size ) on kebab skewers with tons of rice and a naan bread??? It was a bit of a let down. This place is no frills food.

Stopped for lunch on a cycle down to South End from London. The pub boasts of a large garden with an impressive pond, housing ducks and similar semi aquatic wildlife.

Good when open. Three times now has been shut when tried to visit, closed around 9pm on a fri on last attempt (probably shut even earlier) for a pub essentially in the middle of nowhere it would help to be open, almost makes you think it could be closed down? but was open earlier this year.
