Langdon Hills Golf and Country Club Restaurant in Thurrock

Went for the carvery on Sunday afternoon. Absolutely fantastic. Great food and plenty of it!! Trevor and the team really smashed it out of the park.

Booked Langdon Hills golf club for our 50th wedding anniversary was a bit apprehensive as I hadn’t been there before,I was not disappointed from the room we hired the staff were excellent and the food was fantastic they kindly did us a carvery which I appreciated as it was a Friday evening.Family and friends all enjoyed the evening as did my husband and myself .Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of going there.Thank you to all the staff for helping to make our evening a great success and most memorable.Will be coming back in October for Sunday Lunch.Thank you all again.Jenny and John.

I can’t praise Louise and the team at Langdon Hills Golf Club enough Had my daughters and new son in laws wedding reception there last Saturday. The views from the room were amaizing. Nothing was to much trouble, the room was immaculately decorated and the after noon tea was a great touch rather than the normal Wedding breakfast. Exceptionally good value for what we had and memories made that I will look back to forever

Stayed in one of the deluxe room for the night. Fantastic views and nice size room. We had a couple of little problems with the room that we mentioned on checkout. The receptionist was very good and apologetic and didn’t charge for breakfast. We had the buffet breakfast which was very fresh and tasty. All the staff here are really helpful polite and easy to deal with. Would stay again

Lovely mothers day meal. Little chocolate gifts on the table was a nice gesture. Carvery food was lovely. All the staff were very friendly and attentive. The carver was so lovely and really engaging with the guests. I do agree with other reviewers that they do seem to cram the tables in and there’s no clear walkway to the carvery so you end up having to squeeze through people who are trying to eat, or having to ask them to move so you can get through. Really enjoyed our meal as a family so have made enquiries and booked in for Xmas

Breakfast was ok but Too much bad language , and that was from the kitchen Perhaps they should shut the door so we can't hear the woman having a meltdown

We had the best time! The place is immaculately clean. Lovely choice of food, superbly cooked. Staff were very professional and helpful. Didn't wait long to be served even though it was busy. The singer was absolutely brilliant . Highly recommend .

We go here every couple of weeks. The food is good service amazing and it’s very clean. For what they charge it’s not worth the effort or cooking a Sunday roast

We decided to try the Sunday roast. Very substandard, not what I expected. The soup was barely warm, the potatoes looked and tasted well done with poor meat and vegetables. To be honest I would say a hot plate disaster. Maybe I expect to much, the dining experience was pretty grim. The fiction room (not a restaurant) big difference, was plain and lacked imagination. We paid, left and won’t be back.

We went for the Sunday roast carvery today having heard many positive reviews. This is served in the upstairs restaurant between 12 and 3 on Sundays, we booked a table for 6 at 1-30. When we arrived it was busy and most tables were full however there were plenty of staff and we received good service at the table with regards to taking our order for drinks and starters and these were served promptly. The problem we encountered was when we came to go to the carvery for our main course. There is nowhere appropriate to queue whilst waiting to be served so what happens is that everyone just snakes through the restaurant and for those unfortunate to be seated at the tables towards the back of the room this means that there is a constant line of people standing right next to them while they try to eat their meal, not pleasant at all. I was pleased that we were seated at the side of the room or we would have asked to move tables. If we should go again I would be sure to ask for a table away from the serving area and I would advise that the management look into rearranging the table layout to try to relocate the queue to a different area away from the tables. The food was of good quality though so we would be tempted to return if the layout situation was addressed.

The food was plentiful, well cooked and delicious. The gentleman carving and serving meat was very pleasant and obliging. Waitresses and waiters couldn't be more helpful. Would certainly recommend Restaurant very highly.

We've been eating here for quite some time, because this excellent restaurant serves the best Sunday roast! Great value and great quality. It's a little secret! The Covid rules have restricted the layout but it's a safe place. A small but perfect menu. Lovely staff too.

Played golf first, joined by another 2, really impressed and would definitely eat there again for Sunday lunch. Enjoyed by everyone, prefer to eat by new arrangement post COVID than traditional carvery. Extra potatoes and gravy given plus peas when husband mentioned would’ve been nice. Desserts good and staff really friendly. Had breakfast and lunch at different points since shutdown and enjoyed everything. Would thoroughly recommend and a really lovely setting.

Went to the Sunday roast , it was delicious , the food was so filling and a lot of it, the staff are brilliant especially mandy she was attentive at all times and catered to our ever need, definitely will Be returning

Booked a table for a large group of us for a family Saturday lunch at the main restaurant/bar. We had been here before a couple of times. We were told beforehand that it will be very noisy but it was fine. They had the table set up for us when we arrived and provided excellent table service. We love the food here. Absolutely everything on their menu is brilliant. We all had 3 courses each plus cold and hot drinks. Food all arrived together and on time. It was a relaxed atmosphere. Good toilet facilities. It’s a lovely place for meeting up with friends and family for good food. Highly recommend. Will definitely visit again.

Whether it’s a special occasion or just a friend or family get together this is a great place for a well cooked meal. There is always a great selection of vegetables with the meat and it’s always hot because the place is so popular. You will need to book, especially for larger parties.

The hotel is dated & rooms are old fashioned,smallest television in the room we had... only good thing is there is plenty of storage... the rooms are dirty ..!!!! staff nice enough & food is lovely.

Sunday carvery is good value however this is a popular venue and felt packed in. Went with family and young children were in our group.

Lots of parking, great views, very clean. However, I would suggest booking in advance. It is popular. The staff are lovely. The tables are spread out, whichever way you face you will have a beautiful view in the light airy restaurant. There is both a child’s and adults plate size. The food is hot, tastes lovely with a good selection or meats (they also offer fish) and vegetables. The cauliflower cheese is delicious. The desserts, apple pie with custard, fruit crumble and cheesecakes are lovely too.

40 guests gathered for another Carvery lunch, where everything went according to the plans. The Staff were friendly and efficient. The tables were attractively arranged, enhanced by the lovely views of our local countryside in the sunshine, from the windows.All the food, on offer from the carvery was piping hot and served promptly by the Staff. Many comments from guests, making their first visit to the Golf Club, were heard to be praising the range of choice of meats and vegetables, and the high quality of their meals. It was such a successful event. Thank you to everyone involved, at Langdon Hills Golf Club! We shall certainly make a return visit.

13 sat down for a family meal and we all ate carvery. One member of our party would have had preferred salmon but the 30 minute wait was off putting.The meats on offer were beef, turkey and gammon. The range of vegetables was excellent and well cooked, sauces and gravy available.Down side was the slow service, no returns for drink orders and no one came to take Dessert orders, and time just dragged on so we got up to leave, find a server to get a bill together. That said, I would return.

As a wedding photographer, I have visited this venue several times and enjoyed a variety of meals at the weddings that the bride & groom have so kindly allowed me to share with them. I have enjoyed a buffet that consisted of hot and cold food, the variety was good and the food I tried was very tasty. A second visit consisted of a sit down meal, with roast dinner and again this was very much enjoyed by me and other guests. The service was excellent, staff were on hand to assist and served with a smile. I would recommend this venue for a wedding or special event.

We had a carvery lunch at the Golf Club with a social group my partner is involved in. It was very good, great choice of meats backed up by well cooked vegetables. Friendly/helpful staff. Nice location/outlook.

We have been for Sunday buffet lunch four times and it was good wholesome food on each occasion. Would recommend it .

First time at this restaurant, really enjoyed the carvery, food was well cooked and a good variety of vegetables. Price wise was competitive. Good ambience, staff were pleasant. Look forward to going back!

Venue was nice views beautiful and I would have reviewed this much higher if it wasn't for the bigoted man serving the carvey. My partner mentioned he hadn't had beef for ages to which the response was 'that's because HOUSEWIVES DON'T KNOW HOW TO COOK IT' I let that one slide as I didn't want to cause a scene but then he came by the table and asked my partner how the beef

We visited The Langdon Hills Golf and Country Club for a Sunday carvery with family. I was extremely impressed with everything about our visit. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive to us, we were very well looked after. The food was really tasty, and it was a lovely atmosphere in general. We will definitely visit again.

Used the restaurant as I was staying in the accommodation for the night. Very pleasant and friendly staff. Nice meal at a decent price and lots off it. Would definitely use again.

I had the pleasure of attending a black tie function at LHGC recently. The staff were very attentive and the meal was first class. I also stayed overnight and the hotel room was extremely comfortable.

Treated 8 friends and family to a Sunday lunch here today. The service was brilliant, carvery delicious, and great value for money. Arrived at 2pm and the restaurant was busy.. gem of a place for Sunday lunch. Looking forward to going back.

Went there early evening for quick meal, hadn't been for a few years after previous poor food, Thought it might have improved. Sorry to say its got even worse. Same menu, no specials and very over cooked greasy fish and chips, sausages and mash were also over cooked. No body checked back so did not complain. Who ever cooked the food should be ashamed of themselves, can't even cook pub grub properly. Never again will we go there again. The manager really needs to get a proper chef and ask why he cooks such poor food, A paying customer deserves better treatment.

Thought this being a golf club the hotel side would be up to scratch, unfortunately this was not the case, staircases had not been hoovered for I don't know how long, the general attitude of the "receptionists" left a lot to be desired, upon leaving I tried to advise the roller blind in the room was broken, she was to busy looking at the screen to take any notice.

This is my local golf club it has got 27 holes spread into three 9 hole courses the Langdon, the Bulphan, and the Hordon,

we had a lovely time, meal ,service was excellent food delicious everyone very helpful family friendly go try it

Saturday afternoon lunch, I had salad which was very tasty and plenty of it. My husband had burger which was again tasty hot and plenty.

El domingo pasado tuvimos una comida familiar celebración asados para celebrar nuestro aniversario de boda de 40 para 30 personas en Langdon Hills Golf and Country Club. Elegimos este lugar como tuve 60 partidos de cumpleaños en este lugar, y no puedo alabar lo suficiente, la amabilidad de todo el personal. La comida era de primera clase y el personal era tan encantador. Gracias a Steve Greene y Sian Ross para ayudar con los extras que queríamos y organizar las mesas para adaptarse a un miembro de nuestra familia, que estaba en una silla de ruedas. El lugar tiene un maravilloso ambiente agradable con un servicio impecable.

We had lunch here for a party of 9 people. The food was good and well presented. The staff were very helpful. the prices were very competitive. Thanks especially to Steve, the Operations Manager, and Jo behind the bar who were great.

Had put out a lab room, good food and excellent service. Couldn't fault the care given to us. Nothing seemed like too much trouble. Would highly recommend.

Very friendly staff... Sunday carvery very generous...lovely chef a bit pricey at £10 each but overall we enjoyed .....desserts were a little expensive at £5 ish each but to be fare i was stuffed from dinner anywaeachlovely suroundings

Been here a number of times now & I highly recommend it ,the carvery is outstanding full of flavour, better then anywhere else iv eaten, the service is 5+ star and i always highly recommend eating here to others, the only thing I do find is the restaurant gets booked quickly booking a week in advance is necessary, which goes to prove just how nice this place is. And cannot believe how people could find fault in this place at all x
