Kings Arms in Thurrock

Visited here today with 3 friends. The food was lovely and plentiful. The service was good but a tad slow. Friendly and would highly recommend. We will be back.

A warm welcome from Catherine. Really enjoyed our food. I have to say that it is such a shame that the menus were totally different from those online on the website and asked Catherine why that was, and she explained that they have not been able to change the website details - unfortunately. However, even though I had decided on Lasagne (from the website options), but as that was not on the current menu, I had the Lamb Shank with Mash and Tenderstem Brocolli which was so well cooked and delicious. Others had the Pulled Pork with Bubble and Squeak and veg, and Fish and Chips - which were also delicious. We thanked Paul the Chef personally as we all enjoyed our meals so much. The refurbishment made for a comfortable setting and is a great improvement from the last time I was in there - many moons ago. Can definitely recommend the Kings Arms and look forward to going again.

We have been with them through their journey, from when the family first got the pub and decorated, (OK thats an understatement), they fully refurbished, until now, thats approx 1 year, through this time my family and I have been for drinks, lunch, dinner and Sunday lunch, never has there been an off day, never has there been any lack of attention, something off the menu or a pump out of service. Jade and Co keep the pub in perfect order, the food is plentiful and tasty, the drinks choice extensive, the staff courteous, overall its a pleasure to spend time here...

Amazing food & service! Booked the back room for a friends birthday get together. Room beautifully decorated & set-up. We opted to order the small dishes to share & wow, each one was delicious. Attentive, friendly staff, the venue has the charm of a proper British pub but with the added extras of a higher end restaurant. Lovely outside space too! We can’t wait to come back!

Lovely friendly pub, particularly the waiting staff. Had Sunday lunch, very nice beef and great cauliflower cheese. Nothing was too much trouble. Desserts were lovely too, beautifully presented. We will return!

We held our late fathers wake at the pub. The hot Buffet was excellent and plentiful The staff were wonderful friendly and ensured all was beautifully presented. We had the function room and part of the bar area. I would highly recommend for any function.

Went for afternoon tea with family on Saturday for a Mother’s Day treat for our mum, the afternoon tea was lovely and well worth the money, all staff were very friendly and was such a nice cosy relaxed atmosphere, wasn’t rushed at all. Living local to the pub and not been in there since it’s been taken over I must say it’s been decorated to a high standard and looks lovely, highly recommend this pub, we will be returning soon.

Went for Mothers Day. The roast was average, the veg and roast potatoes were really good, but the meat was very poor. Very thin slices of meat that resembles what you would buy in a supermarket, the stuffing was stone cold and the Yorkshire Puddings are definitely frozen. However, the desserts were really good, good sized portions too. Will definitely return to sample other dishes when they are less busy. The staff here are AMAZING, so friendly, helpful and accommodating which is why they got the 4 stars. They had a singer, James Wade, he was so good and kept us entertained.

Had Sunday lunch today - lovely! Great food & good atmosphere. Good portion sizes and good value. Had Prawn Cocktail to start - loads of prawns! Roast chicken for main. Cheesecake for after - delicious with fruit and cream. Took photos of starters and pud , forgot main as just wanted to tuck in!! Lovely & friendly staff, would come back. Catered for Gluten free Sunday roast no problem.

Our 3rd trip with friends this time in the last 2 months for Sunday dinner again! The staff always welcoming and happy. Sat in the bar area at the front. Roasties, parsnips and cauliflower cheese 😋 😋 😋. Good value and lovely setting for a Sunday afternoon.

Had a great catch up with old friends. Food was great! And the staff were brilliant (nothing was to much trouble for them) Will be making a point going back more often.

We celebrated our daughters 2nd birthday here today in their function room and everything about it was pure perfection! I had a vision of a tea party for her and her friends and the management at the Kings Arms took that vision and turned it into something truly special. Everything from the service, food and decorations exceeded all of our expectations. Could not recommend this wonderful venue enough. Will we definitely be back for more parties. thank you again for making my daughters birthday so special.

Went for Sunday lunch and was a bit underwhelmed. Roasties and Yorkshires smacked of aunt Bessie's, meat seemed like pre-prepared sliced. Service was great and the atmosphere was nice - we watched footy on the TV. A lovely pub which would benefit from better quality food.

A great way to see in the New Year, such a friendly welcoming pub, they put in a lot of effort with decorating the pub, a lovely surprise was the array of food they served everyone which much appreciated, staff was so friendly and efficient at serving everyone so quickly, a great singer, just wished we lived a bit closer as this would definitely be our local pub, great time had by everyone, thank you.

Have been a couple of times since the pub has re opened. Lovely atmosphere. Children were made welcome and accommodated with fussy eating. Food was to a very high standard. Bar staff very friendly. Would highly recommend

I used the function room for a business meeting, the service from the staff was great, they looked after me and my guest. We were looked after very well, the food was delicious and would recommend the function as a good meeting place.

Love the small plates. Went here for a business meeting the new landlady Vicky was a delight. Definitely worth a visit. I will be returning with family for lunch/ dinner at some point.

Came back for the first time since it has been taken over by the new owners. It is very welcoming and brighter, cleaner and staff friendly. No longer has the 'old man's pub' feel. Toilets very clean and hygienic made a change to have toilet paper and a working hand dryer. Overall a nice drink in a nice friendly pub.

Had a wonderful seafood platter & pie & mash. The best food. Such lovely, friendly & very helpful staff. Would recommend 💯 Thank you guys x

After a lovely visit last year with family we returned last week on a sunny Saturday afternoon and can't believe how different it was! Only 7 people including us and the bar lady. Sat inside as no umbrellas outside. Weeds overgrowing outside, black mould on...

We have been to the pub on three occasions now and each time we have been met by pleasant and attentive staff. Their Sunday roast dinners are lovely and their deserts are all home made and delicious!

Had a table of 11 for sunday dinner. Sat in separate seating area. Great service, friendly staff. Good selection of meats and different drinks. Football on which was good in the main bar!

Enjoyed a meal with 4 friends. All our meals were superb and the young lady behind the bar was very attentive and friendly. If you are like me, and trying to support our local pubs, I can highly recommend this pub.

Had business lunch with some colleagues here. Lady who served us was excellent, very polite and asking if our meals were ok We had the ploughman’s, lasagne, jacket potato and the special which was steak and ale pie. The pie was handmade and looked divine....
