The best restaurants in Tendring East of England

Firstly the young lady serving at the till in the cafe today 9/5/24 AM was very helpful and polite. The other female working serving the food and delivering the orders to the table was very rude to us and uncalled for. I have witnessed the same person being rude to other customers in past weeks. This has made me feel I don't want to use this cafe anymore. If the score was based on the person serving at the till it would have been 5*. The food was good just this person being rude to us and other customers.

This is supposed to be part of a place supposedly rescuing animal. but they don't they sell them dead an call it food. you cant say you rescue animals then eat them!

We ordered take away. It was not really nice. We found that the pizza was soggy. We hope it is just a one off.

We called in on the off chance of a room being available on a very busy weekend and were surprised to find not only was there a room but the family who run the hotel were exceptional. They could not have done enough for us and made us feel like part of their family. The room was a good size and very clean, there is a great outside area at the back of the hotel which is very child friendly and seating at the front which we took advantage of after our breakfast where we had tea . They also made room at the front of the property for my husband to park the car..We arrived as strangers and after one night left as friends .. We will definitely be making a return visit as the hotel is only a short walk into town and across the road from the beach and hopefully if available take advantage of one of the balcony rooms at the front which overlooks the sea .

Stopped here on my way to London today, amazing coffee and brilliant service. I took a lot of time to pick what I wanted but the girl and the lad there were very accommodating to me. The coffee was made perfectly, better than any of the high street chains like costa and Starbucks. I must praise them for their service as well, not sure on their names but it was the blonde girl and the lad with the black hair. Will definitely be coming back.

Service was good just a shame the food wasn't up to standard. The chicken was tiny and the pitta bread was Rock hard. Definitely wouldn't order again

Tasty steaks. Good portion sizes. Good selection of dishes. Dessert chocolate and pecan tart was a bit disappointing but fine. Staff were great, fantastic service. Wine very expensive. Though £35 for a bottle of Proseco was a bit over the top, but suppose you expect the price in a hotel.

Lovely meal at Mistley Thorn last evening. Pleasant atmosphere and service. Menu is varied to that of its sister restaurant Lucca with al la carte meals featuring fresh fish and specials of the day. Well recommended, we will be returning soon.

Really amazing place, the bartender Alfie was amazing always kept us topped up on drinks and made some amazing recommendations on desserts for us!

Lovely pub! One of our favourites when we visit my in laws. The owners are lovely. The staff are friendly. Great vibe and atmosphere. Lovely beer garden in the back for warm summer days. Its great 👍
