Love this place, went for a early lunch with friends, a warm welcome and a chat. I had a veggie burger (butternut squash) delicious with a side of chips. My hubby and friends had fish and chips with mushy peas. Nice size portion, freshly cooked and they all said it tasted fantastic. Ohhh and we brought some cheese scones for tea and they were brilliant, cheesy and crumbley. We will be back again very soon

Walked from Lawford, Manningtree & had breakfast at this lovely spot. The standard breakfast was excellent but there is an option to select the components as well. Very good value for money as the portions are generous. My double-shot cappuccino was really, really weak so I would advise a triple shot.

Good old fashioned, delicious food, veggie friendly staff friendly. Fish and chips on a Friday, roast on a Sunday. Been a few time now and I've never been disappointed. Our teenagers love the all day breakfast and make sure you leave room for dessert

Lovely atmosphere for a cafe everyone helpful and food excellent. You need to book for Wednesday and Sunday roast as it’s so busy. There b/fast are good value but I do not like chips which it came with. I thought was strange . All there food is gone cooked and fresh good value for money.

Fantastic for traditional mains and desserts done will at a reasonable price. The Sunday roasts seem particularly popular with the older generation but all sorts were in there. Polite and quick service. Vegetarians and vegans well catered for, with egg and chips, baked potatoes, or a vegan burger available. And you can visit the animals nearby too! Highly recommended.

nice cuppa and cake after seeing the animals in the park. If you want a Sunday roast though, you will need to book as it was full of reserved tables last time we tried

I have been eating at the Mistley Cafe for 3 years now and you cannot fault the food, there is a great range of meals on offer and the staff are fantastic and very helpful, as long as I do not lose out I would thoroughly recommend eating here.

Slightly on the downside, the interior smell of frying (ventilation required) and the 'all day breakfast' whilst tasty was one egg, bacon, chips and beans. Sausage is extra, no tomato, no mushrooms. But I'd go again.

What a find. Had recommendations from friends to visit here for a roast dinner so we booked a table for four yesterday (roasts available on Weds & Sundays) and were not disappointed. Having ordered two chicken & two beef roasts at the counter (along with our drink choices) we didn't have long to wait for it to arrive. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. We will definitely be going back. PS. This establishment has air conditioning and we were glad of that on the hottest day of the year yesterday !

Having visited their animal shelter we decided to have some food and a drink in the Mistley Place Park Tearooms. On Wednesday and Sunday they do a full roast dinner, so we ordered slow-roasted topside of beef, which came with a Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, Broccoli and gravy. It was a huge plate of meat, was served hot, with a generous serving of vegetables, and was tasty. At £6.95 (plus 50p for lamb) it was good value and for an unassuming venue it was very good. It is clearly popular on roast days, with many tables being reserved at peak eating times for those having pre-booked their tables. The drinks and desserts were competitively priced. Would certainly recommend, and it is clearly popular with the locals.

We were in the area for just a couple of nights, and booked a meal here on the strength of Tripadvisor reviews, which proved to be correct. It was an excellent meal, and good value.
