Prezzo - Clacton-on-Sea in Tendring

Excellent food and service and vibrant atmosphere. I loved everything about this place and am looking forward to returning soon. The staff and chef were wonderful dealing with a food allergy and I felt brilliant the day after. The only improvement is totally about the acoustics as it could be hard to hear table conversation. Perhaps some baffling on the ceiling could help this. But a great dining experience thank you.

Waited 90 minutes before we received our meal

After a long day braving the chilly weather at Clacton beach, Prezzo was the perfect place to warm up and enjoy a delicious meal. Feeling tired and hungry, I was drawn to the restaurant's inviting atmosphere and friendly staff. My waiter was incredibly helpful and recommended the burger and truffle fries, which were absolutely delicious! The burger was cooked just the way I like it, and the truffle fries were perfectly crispy. For dessert, I couldn't resist the lemon meringue pie, and it was even better than I expected. It was so good that I seriously considered asking if I could take the whole cake home! Overall, my experience at Prezzo Clacton was fantastic. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. It was the perfect way to end a chilly day by the sea. I highly recommend it!

Love this place, my Sister & l went on Friday 11th Oct..24 AGAIN. Our Waiter was Archie, very attentive & nothing too much trouble. Lovely Chap!! We first went back in Summer 2024. My Sister drives from Lincolnshire to mine in Lavenham... Now (Prezzo's) is our to go place. Recommend everyone to give em a go. Thank you Guys x

This was quite simply the worst night out in a long time. Having arrived at our booked table time of 6:45, we did not receive our food until 8:15 and the meal at best could be described as undercooked pig swill. The waitress was irritable due to “having to wait on 15 tables by herself” and therefore bordering on rude when taking our order as though it was our fault for booking a table that evening! When we asked how long our food would be we were told rudely that the waitress had asked the kitchen five times and had been shouted at so she wasn’t going to do it again, and she had therefore asked the manager to go in. Truth or lie? the manager did not present themselves to apologise. We had asked for our main to come with the starter …simple enough with an order for garlic bread and olives, but this seemed to present a difficult challenge. The elusive manager could not be seen and it was doubtful of their existence despite them apparently coming to our defence on the wait time for our dinner and subsequently at the end of the evening when we told the waitress said she could get the manager for us to complain to, but it “probably wouldn’t do much good”. It was as though a rowdy bunch of incompetent teenagers had been allowed to manage the bar, kitchen and tables with no experience. We had to wave staff over to be served drinks and nobody approached our table without us having to wave them over as all eye contact was keenly avoided we noted. One young lady didn’t know what chianti was but if we showed her on the drink menu she would be able to order it! Ordering pasta with salmon should not be challenging except for the fact that the salmon was not present in the dish. We believe it had swum away being as disgruntled as the clientele and the staff apparently! The pizza was pale and looked undercooked with toppings sparse. Even the pizza cutter broke when it was used! Never before have we been so disappointed with a meal out. This was a family celebration with relatives visiting from abroad and should have been a great evening with nice food; however the latter was sadly missing. Having waited so long, the temptation was to leave and go somewhere else, except we probably wouldn’t have got a table on a Saturday evening at that time for a large party. It does mean that Prezzo will not receive our custom again. Go there at your peril.

Wir waren als Familie da und hatten einen Tisch reserviert. Wir haben den Eindruck gewonnen, dass der Tisch keinen zuständigen Kellner hatte. Wir sahen uns gezwungen, Kellner, die vorbeiliefen, an den Tisch heranzuwinken. Es kam nur einmal von sich aus eine Kellnerin und nahm nach einer gefühlten Ewigkeit dann die Essensbestellung auf. Die Ausführung der Bestellungen war eine Geduldsprobe. Die Getränke dauerten lang. Bis aber das Essen serviert wurde, das grenzte an eine Unverschämtheit. Wir warteten über eine Stunde lang auf das Essen, dessen Qualität nicht überzeugt hat. Die Pasta mit dem Lachs hatte eine minimale Idee von Lachs, was bei den Preisen ebenfalls an eine Unverschämtheit grenzte. Die Pizzen waren lieblos mit viel zu großen und in der Zahl dann wenigen Stücken von Paprika und Hühnchen bestückt, die mit Ach und Krach als gar bezeichnet werden darf. Alles in allem eine ruinöse Bilanz eines Restaurants was uns einigermaßen den Abend, auf den wir uns alle gefreut hatten, verdorben hat.

Been here a couple of times ,but it must of got taken over the place is the worst I've been in ,645 entrance 8pm being served 5 pizzas and a salmon dish with 3 chunks of salmon, no follow up from any one had to literally chase staff for another round of drinks ,literally all I had was a cheese pizza with onion ,not even melted cheese, if you go to the mens toilet as soon as the door opens you hit who is using it before you can get in And the staff are not interested if you ask a question regarding the food o well lesson learned Never again

Great food and even better service. Chloe was lovely and really helpful. I had the lobster and crab ravioli - really tasty. Not huge, might recommend getting with a side if you're feeling very hungry, but perfect for lunch. Will definitely be back again ☺️

We have used several prezzo restaurants including our local one at Spalding so expected the same quality of food. So a bit shocked when the worlds poorest pizza arrived on my plate. The quality of my wife’s meal was also terrible. We would have complained but as we were with old friends did not want to make a fuss. However when we left they admitted they had not enjoyed the meal either. I don’t know if it was the chefs day off or what but if this is what lunch at this restaurant is always like best you all avoid it.

Friendly staff and the service was very good. Would have been 5⭐ for food but my partner said her Cannelloni was over cooked.

A lovely evening only spoilt by the fact a very stroppy manager came over and asked us to leave at 9.45pm despite website saying they closed at 10 shame as food and waitress were lovely

Lovely experience. With the kindnest waiter, Emily. She made it a really nice environment and was very helpful and always remembered to get to our table quickly. Really nice food. We ordered the cheesy garlic bread with balsamic onions, the carbonara and the lemon meringue pie. Overall a really good experience 👍

Overal was good, Olivia our server was great! Food took too long but we didn’t make a fuss as she was rushed already. We’ve eaten here before, food is generally good.. probably wouldn’t order the pizza again but otherwise the pasta dishes, great :) We will return I’m sure

We fancied an Italian meal for lunch so decided on Prezzo. Cannot believe how expensive the drinks were! The food was very average and there was hardly any atmosphere. All in all wish we had eaten elsewhere for half the price and definitely wont be coming back

Food always fresh and tasty. Just a shame that Kat (middle aged woman with grey hair and glasses) is consistently rude and put out by everyone and everything. Rest of the staff are spot on, though. Address the one person bringing the place down and you have a great restaurant.

Shared four starters between three of us for lunch and were very impressed with how tasty they were. The artichoke, tomato and olive salad was especially good. The waitress was not very welcoming or enthusiastic and appeared in a bad mood throughout our visit.

I ordered mistakenly to my work address and the delivery driver rang me saying he was here, I was trying to explain that I'd made a genuine mistake and that I live a 2min drive from work, he couldn't understand me over the phone and he promptly hung up. I therefore text my address to him and he arrived and he was so rude, it's not my fault that someone cannot understand english in England, I even tipped him on the app before hand! I won't be ordering again unfortunately.

Absolutely mortified by the food I received, no more than 30 minutes ago, I was craving lasagne, but this was the worst place I could have went for it. Extremely expensive and for some reason. A massive portion of coriander ontop, as an Italian I am completely mortified by this choice, brilliant service but will not be going back there again, I am on the toilet right now with. Bad belly.

Another good meal and a free bottle of pressecco

What a lovely place our waitress was Gracie who was very helpful and pleasant and friendly. I had the arribiata which was lovely and hot and a bit spicy which was great. Hubby had the crab spaghetti which was also very nice. Would certainly go back again. My only wish would be if they had a section for well behaved dogs as we had to sit outside. Thanks Pink Sue🩷

We turned up at Prezzo for a late lunch , the service was slow but the poor waiter was doing his best and apologised for the 25 minutes wait to take our order he appeared to be on his own , The food was ok for a chain the lasagne was the best dish , the sea bass was very dry and overcooked .

Worst meal ever. Both meals was cold not even warm and my pasta was so tasteless and watery. Will never go back again

Fantastic meal although the main dining area was a bit loud.

I can't comment on the food as we didn't stop. Despite having booked and despite the restaurant being only half full we were led to a table at the back of the restaurant in a cramped position next to the waitress station. We asked for another table but were told that none were available. We decided not to stay and cancelled our booking for the following evening as well. This is not our usual experience of Prezzo restaurants.

Excellent 🇮🇹 restaurant with sea views. Had a birthday lunch there and the staff couldn’t do enough to help, they even take blue light card, 20% discount and free deserts at the moment, if you have a card. A really enjoyable meal, even gluten free pizza 🍕 bases, garlic 🧄 bread and pasta 🍝 . Food was delivered quickly and was piping hot. We booked online to save waiting for a table. There is a carpark at the rear, or you can park along the sea front or side streets and walk back to the restaurant. Card only, no cash. Will definitely visit again 5⭐️

This is overlooking the sea and the pier, the staff are friendly and very efficient, my wife is a diabetic insulin dependent, the chefs always assist with this, as even brioche buns even have sugar, they make a pizza dough bun for her fresh to avoid risks. It’s card only payment, but we always have cash to tip with, as sticking it on the bill is like tipping the tax man, Cash is king. This is our favourite Prezzo.

Lovely meal last night. Spinach and ricotta cannelloni very tasty with mixed salad. Followed by chocolate gelati with cherries and chocolate fudge cake.

Amazing food with great presentation. Quick and happy service with a smile. Noted on booking that it was a birthday meal and they went over and above with a post-dinner surprise. Takes a lot to impress my 82 year old mum, who thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for a nice evening!

Me and my daughter ate here on the 22nd after having good previous experiences in the Witham and Chelmsford restaurants. I asked to be seated away from the other side of the restaurant and was told no because the table had already been cleaned. We were seated down next to some others tables and it was quite loud. One table had a mother, daughter and son on it, when the mother went to the toilet the daughter who was about 13-14 years old decided to make loud noises and doing expressions as though she was being sick and then her brother who looked around the same age started eating the candle wax out of the jar and making silly loud noises. They were looking around for attention and reactions. The staff didn’t say a word and they acted as good as gold when their mum got back down. My Spaghetti carbonara was good but my daughter Spaghetti Bolognese was tasteless and dry, I gave her half of my meal. The 2 staff working looked dirty all stains over his shirt and he wasn’t even cooking. We were sat behind these big round ornaments so they couldn’t see our faces but I could see theres. I see one of the waters lift the lid off the parmesan cheese pick it up and touch it with his hands and take a mouthfull of it while talking to the other guy. That was the same cheese he’d been serving to customers a few minutes before, but when he was serving it he was holding it from the big end where the fling film was and not actually touching it with his bare hands like I see him do. I didn’t want to complain or make a scene because I knew I wouldn’t be returning again. If it had happened in my home town then I definitely would have. For some reason it’s not letting me upload the 2 meals. So I’ll try again tomorrow on there facebook page if they have one. I’ll keep trying.

Food was very good, adding back the rice dishes would be nice though. I can't fault the service and cleanliness of the restaurant. All the staff have been helpful, in particular Zotan has been attentive and given excellent service, remembering what we order/like. Brilliant thank you!

First visit to Prezzo. Great food, lots of choice. Warm welcome. Excellent table service. On this occasion a big thanks to team member Zoltan. Couldn’t do enough to make our visit, experience a great one. Will certainly be going back.

In the area and decided on this little prezzo, food was great, very nice inside, staff ok, will return, would recommend.

A bit lackluster. We booked for 13 people and were placed on a long table at the rear by the fir exit that was very drafty. The windows looked like they had been forgotten. Other window were dressed with lights. Then nothing... The service was excellent considering we were a large group. The food was tasty and hot but pricey.

It's Prezzo & a good one, I'll always recommend it. Mind you, the prices have increased quite significantly!!

This is the only prezzo that’s asks before you are seated , “if you have a discount voucher”. I do feel the reason for this is because you get smaller portions and the food standard is sloppy.

Being a branded chain you tend to expect to think it'll not impress you much but you would be wrong. Being on the seafront and to stand out from its competitors it sets itself apart. The interior is bright, clean and welcoming. It doesn't feel cramped and you can see a lot of the inside from where you sit. The staff were pleasant and interacted well with my young children making them feel inclined as fellow guests and not dismissive of them like some places can be. Getting to the business of end things with the food. Fresh, hot, full of flavour and good portion sizing. Choice on the menu is typical of a Prezzo covering all corners of Italian restaurant food. Inclusive of vegetarian and vegans it has an array of dishes. Of there was one thing I would say that could be improved it would be to better slice the pizza otherwise we had no complaints. Starter to share, 2 adult mains, 2 children's meals amd drinks each and it came to £70.

Visited for a meal last night- food was tasty and the staff were friendly. One of our waiters was so softly spoken it was difficult to hear him- but he was lovely and well mannered non the less

Awful lunch at Prezzo Clacton today. A family of 6, we waited over an hour for our pizzas, watching others who arrived after us get fed first. When a few of them finally arrived they were wrong, sent back they arrived wrong again and somehow this time they managed to cook them quickly so why we had waited so long in the first place we have no idea. They didn’t bring all of our meals together and some had nearly finished by the time the last pizza arrived. It was a very disappointing meal out. The only good thing to say is the manager had the sense not to charge us. A shame all round as of course we would have happily paid for a good experience.

Food was delivered on time and piping hot with no issues

If I had received this in the restaurant I would have sent it back!! 1 small piece of chicken and no peppers. On the plus side the sauce was lovely but I did not order pasta with sauce!

Not a great range on their menu. Could be more reasonably priced. And of a better quality of food with a bigger portion. When it says two chicken breasts in a portion it's one chicken breast cut in two.not great wouldn't go back

Came here with my brother, was beyond disappointed with the service I received. Not only was I kept waiting for 15 minutes before I was even served I was then told after being there for 45 minutes I was not allowed to be served anymore alcohol because I hadn’t eaten enough food even tho I had come for the so called “bottomless brunch” the service was absolutely ridiculous and we left an hour early and still charged full price for food we didn’t even finishand limited to 3 drinks. This establishment is nothing but fault advertisement and dissatisfaction and disappointment. I would not recommend to anyone. Don’t be lead on to what is advertised as bottomless because in fact it is limited and misleading to what is being advertised. If I could give 0 stars

Lovely meal but felt service was extremely slow

The experience was rather spoilt by the waitress who asked us if we wanted drinks as we were being seated, we said yes and as we've been before (and knew what we wanted to eat) could we also order food at the same time? She insisted on getting the drinks first and said the food order HAD to be taken afterwards so we each ordered a drink but when my 17 year old son asked for a pint of lager, she then asked his age and promptly refused to serve him unless he ordered a meal, He replied that 'you haven't let us order one yet?' she became visibly annoyed with him at this point and agreed to allow him to order a lager. We had eaten in another Prezzos the weekend before so wanted the same dish (which had been brilliant at the Billericay branch). Chilli prawn pasta. Unfortunately on this occasion the chilli prawns were about 10 times as strong and made the food more or less inedible for some. I still ate it because I'm greedy but when paying we were informed by her that lots of people had been complaining about the dish. On a side note we haven't been back to Prezzos and can't see that changing anytime soon.

Visited Sunday lunchtime, we had a alcohol free lager each which was bought to us in a can 330 ml and they cost £6.50 each!! Both had bruschetta for starters which were really nice although expensive, then we both had the truffle and blue cheese beef burger, it was really dry the burgers were dry and overcooked with hardly any truffle mayo or blue cheese, very disappointing as they were priced at £18.95 each! Very disappointing and over priced meal which is a shame because I have always really enjoyed Prezzo food

We would only go to any Prezzo unless we had Tesco vouchers as the prices are absolutely way expensive.£28 for a bottle of red and £7.00 for a short measure pint of larger? I had the Fried Mozzarella starter with dip and should of taken a photo as this was deffo out of a frozen Iceland type freezer bag and totally tasteless £7.95.My partner King Prawn Gnocchi £8.95 ok. So with two starters and two beers before our mains we've clocked up £30.90. Mains were Crab & Lobster Ravioli £17.95 and one Tre Carni Calzone £17.95 both ok. Now ok we don't go out much knowing how expensive it is and the restaurant being in so called in a prime location "Opposite Clacton Pier"yeh right and wages and overheads to pay then to be presented with a bill for two starters two mains and two beers £66.70 I can see why so many Prezzo's all over the country are closing. The place was very busy and the service very good which we gave a generous tip but soooo glad we had Tesco vouchers as next time it's a Hungry Horse lol. Happy eating "Victor Meldrew"

Absolutely abysmal service, waited over half an hour for our order, food , when it did eventually arrive was nothing special, then waited more than 10 minutes for the bill, waiting staff not interested, and very stand offish

The food was absolutely terrible. Normally when I go to prezzo I cannot complain the food is always amazing but the food when delivered is awful. It tastes old and not fresh at all and I understand with delivery it isn’t going to be as good as in the restaurant but the texture and taste was as if it had been sitting out all day long and my chips were soggy and tasteless and my “crispy fried mozzarella” was not crispy at all it was soggy and seemed as if it had been sat for hours. Definitely not

Having read previous reviews, I was a little apprehensive as a wheelchair user visiting this restaurant. I needn’t have worried . We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The gentleman that served us, moved chairs out of the way for us and even checked that we were happy with the table we had been allocated. When the meal arrived it was delicious and my husband and I enjoyed both our courses. I visited the large accessible toilet and was impressed that it was very clean, a member of staff helped held the door for me both on entering and exiting without even being asked. This is a truly wonderful restaurant with amazing staff and absolutely amazing food. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Not very child friendly the man was very rude said please keep the place clear so they could come through with the meals perhaps if you know we had kids you would seated us away from where you were serving and they didnt have to wait so long for there sweets they would not have got bored and restless by the way the young man that you were so rude to it was his birthday so thankyou for that i think you should learn how to speak to your customers especially when they have spent a lot of money there apart from that the meal was lovely and the lady that gave us extra cheese was really nice nothing was too much trouble for her

Unsatisfactory service from the young male employee. The manager seemed uninterested and directed us to complain via the receipt. We left a tip for the young woman who stepped in and provided chips for our kids, after we were informed that our food would take an additional 30 minutes and initially he said no to any food for our 4 hungry children.

Visited this Prezzo before and always enjoyed the food. On this occasion, they were very busy and the service was slow, so we waited a long time for our drinks and our food. However, our waitress was very apologetic and offered us a free desert to compensate. It was nice that this was recognised and something offered without us asking. When the food arrived, it was delicious and well presented. So overall, although the service wasn’t as good as usual, we will be back and hence the score.

Took my 12 yr old granddaughter here. I had lasagne she spagbol. Portion size ok but would have thought for price I would have had a small salad for me and some cheese in the spagbol as standard with meal. Waiter was very good and...

Delicious food and friendly staff

Group of 7 visited the restaurant without a booking - which was no problem at all. The service was polite and friendly and starters arrived in good time. The restaurant did get a little busier at which the mains took a little longer to arrive....

We took our granddaughters here before a show at the westcliff theatre. The service was first class with really helpful and friendly staff and the food was excellent. Unlike a lot of places you could tell it was freshly cooked.

It was a Saturday night and there was going to be a free firework display on Clacton Pier. This was a busy time to be dining at the local Prezzo but they coped very well. The waiting staff were their usual friendly selves and the kitchen sent out decent food reasonably quickly. In line with a general trend their prices have risen recently and it’s no longer a cheap night out. My party of 4 adults received a bill for £160 for 2 courses each and a bottle of wine. It seemed pretty fair for these days and we were happy to have dined there.

Lovely meal at Prezzo clacton. I booked a table to ensure there was no wait for a table. The restaurant is cash free. There is a car park behind the restaurant. We was greeted on entry and seated immediately. The server was lovely she took our drinks order then the mains and then Gave us the option of dessert or not. This was a special treat for my boyfriends birthday.

Ate here this evening. It was ok. But prezzo is seriously overpriced. The place was full but prices are so inflated. Mains are much more expensive than other restaurants £17 for lasagne and £4.50 for fries. The lasagne is served with nothing for the 17 quid. £8 for extremely small desserts. And they dont take cash. Why not? Wont be back prezzos . Much better places to eat for less.

Food really nice and well presented, staff are friendly and helpful.

A great place in the middle of the town, affordable prices, fast and very friendly service, the whole family is full and satisfied. We highly recommend. Thank you 😊
