Papa John's Pizza in Tendring

Ordered 2 items at my caravan in Clacton and waited over an hour so rang the restaurant to be told they only had 1 driver so was cooking it nice and fresh and would be delay but will be with me next , waited another hour and the delivery never came

I’ve ordered a delivery and it appears that I have to collect it? We haven’t got a car so we only have deliveries. Please let me know it’s being delivered, Otherwise I’ll order elsewhere. Thank you

I am un happy with this experience food cold over a hour late I want a voucher for this bad experience it’s always this bad if u can’t handle the work don’t do it at all I only ordered a garlick bread and ice cream and u took that long terrible

arrived and hour and a half late and the food was burnt and terrible, also got the wrong drink like how hard is it to put the right drink in a bag

missing items from order and wouldn't give me money back even after 45 mins late. usually pretty good.

Spent over £25.00 didn't receive free tots .. and half the pizza slices didn't even have cheese or filling .. I have photo proof ...

It was lovely apart from the free Potato tots when you spend over £25.

Originally was due by 1am, then switched to 1:15am then 1:45am called then and said driver went home early so needed another one, our garlic bread wasn’t edible, potato and mozzarella sticks were cold and the pizza chewy where cold. Have asked for a refund over this but not heard back yet.

Still waiting now for my food so wouldn’t even know the quality and care towards customers

Pizza average, sides good, open hours amazing. Pizza is never cut properly which is the most annoying thing ever when you just want to sit down relax and eat your dinner!

Disgusting service. Order at 1035, food didn't arrive until midnight. Half my order didn't arrive. Girl on the phone was rude when I called twice to find out where food was, and then when we called to tell them the items were missing noone answered for 15 mins, and then had to wait another 20 for the rest of my food. Girl on the phone was very ruse. Driver also banged on my door so hard I thought it was going to break. Totally unacceptable

I did not get my pizzie i ordered it at 12:00 it is now 2:00 in the morning

Placed an order for delivery at 11:50pm, to then have to wait two and a half hours before the app says food is on its way, still not having any food turn up so i call the store to ask what’s going on with my order to then get told “oh it’ll be another hour as still waiting for delivery person”. Working in hospitality myself i understand how busy it can get but this is absolutely ridiculous, for an order that should’ve taken an hour to an hour and a half maximum i find this completely disgusting, all that could be said to me was i could either wait the hour, go collect it myself or just cancel the order so i’ve just cancelled at this point, 2.5 hours for a pizza, garlic cheese sticks and a drink is vile

I ordered my food over an hour and half ago also called said wouldn’t be long still didn’t turn up I ordered at 12:45 and it still isn’t here and even when I called said wouldn’t be long still isn’t here.

didn’t even arrive, she said we can come and pick it up even though we paid for delivery or wait over 2 hours, ridiculous

my pizza box was smooshed and so was my pizza the whole top of it was stuck to the top of the pizza so all i had was dough. i am very disappointed.

veggy bites instead of cauliflower wings, 4 bacon and sprinkle of cheese on tots, all cold and no dips because they didn't have cauliflower wings or dips so they just made it up. so annoyed what a joke

Extremely terrible service been trying to get in contact with this manger who was meant to call me back weeks ago I’ve never come across a company who lies as much as them they need to be shut down I’ve lost £50 from ordering with u guys and ur driver called me telling me my food will be cold if I would like a refund but these scammers told just eat that the order had been delivered and now just eat r refusing to refund my money I was there on holiday it was even my birthday n till now no1 has called or messaged me (I called multiple times to get in contact with the manager n I was always told she ain’t in rightn now leave ur number and we will get her to call you back)

I’m very pissed off at the fact I’ve been trying to get in contact with a manger that hasn’t been able to call me backbare in mind staff has took my number n name and told me she will get in contact with me Since the 9th of may I’ve been trying to get a refund for a £50 order that didn’t arrive while I was on Holliday in clacton park holidays resort I previously ordered days before n the food came straight to my caravan door the second time i ordered we waited till the expected delivery time and didn’t hear nothing so we called the restaurant to see what was going on and was told the driver is doing errands that our food was going to be cold this was at 1 am and was offered a refund I was fuming about this because it shows delivered on the app and I’ve contacted just eat and they said they can’t do nothing untill the restaurant responds to them agreeing that the food didn’t come. This was on my birthday I’m extremely angry that this hasn’t been solved when u can just ask ur delivery driver who was meant to drop it to me that day if he did n he will tell u he didn’t.

Every meal we have from here is so nice. Always hot and we love Papa johns. Thank you.

absolutely terrible, I ordered a xxl meat pizza with the spicy beef replaced with steak and no sauce on half the base as I'm allergic I received their large pizza with spicy beef and full sauce and when I called to let them know they gave me some shtik about it being health and safety not doing half and half so they put it over the entire base, when I had asked for no sauce on half, they kept saying well you asked for sauce so we put it on everywhere, wouldn't take and replace or refund and left me in tears with how angry he was, also repeatedly telling me they had left a voice message letting me know when there isn't any on my phone from them please go to family pizza instead I only chose here due to the 60% discount it is not worth it!!!

I went last week and the cashier was very nice and welcoming and didn't mind if we took our time.The pizza we had was made fresh to order and was really tasty would recommend because they have really good deals on right now 10/10 would go again.

Store bought brownie that I can buy at tescos all day long not something made by them and ordered Ben and jerrys ice cream a big tub and they sent me a 3 small 100ml tubs not even we’ve run out of what not just we don’t care we just take the money

Delivery was good. Food quality - very poor considering how much they charge. Tasted fine, but for nearly £30 I got a small pizza with toppings only in the centre and 10 'chicken strips' all smaller than scampi pieces. It was about £3 worth of food to a big company. Truly disappointing at the price. Driver was great though. Will go back to Domino's now. Far better value and quality.

Food was stone cold, turned up 90 minutes late and the BBQ "drizzle" meant that the whole pizza was smothered in BBQ sauce. Okay if you like mouthfuls of sauce. Potato tots under cooked. Pretty rubbish

went in there on Saturday night 9th September,we ordered a pizza we looked around and the place was very dirty as we had already paid we waited for it.when the girl bought it out the girl who gave us it was filthy dirty I don’t know how she can be behind the counter serving food,just looking at her she shouldn’t have been there.we ate some of our pizza because we was hungry,I wish we hadn’t we was both I’ll and had to drive home to London and had to keep stopping at services to go to the toilet.on Monday we was very sick and the doctor said it was food poisoning

2 hours late and was promised a free drink or desert by store as apology which I didn’t receive.

Zero stars. AVOID !! Ordered large pizza and one side for dinner, by 4am I had 'the runs' and was vomiting. DON'T order from here. Go next door to the domino's.

Not many serving in there . Food cold not much on them Back door always open when I go in and that could be any time of day , one person on there phone did not notice we were there . Saw some flys around as well .

I cannot recommend papa johns enough. The delivery drivers go above and beyond as do the cooks and other staff.

been to most pizza shops in clacton, most of them are ok. but i keep coming back to papa john's, they are definitely the best pizza in town, the staff are very friendly especially the girl called simone she should have a gold star for her efforts, keep up the good work guys, Chris.

I've beeb using papa johns since they opened and i think they are brilliant, so it's about time i wrote a review, the staff are very friendly and polite and there pizza's are about as good as your going to get, so well done papa's gang keep up the good work 5 stars.

I don't recommend the pizza, the dough is all spoiled, the ingredients are not good, not only is it cut ugly, it's not yet placed on the pizza, it's just thrown into a pile, it's not the pizza it used to be

The franchisee listens to customer feedback and ensures this Papa John's is well run and that the pizzas are to the standard you would expect. Delivery staff are exceptionally polite and this PJ's now delivers an above average PJ's experience. To be excellent requires consistency and I hope they can keep this standard up as it is one of my favourite places to order from.

I knew this place wouldn’t live up to the marketing! Utter junk! You’d be better of going to a Turkish kebab shop. Tried to speak with someone about the excessive delay & the person sounded like the worst dregs of clacton, he could barely string a sentence together.

Ordered double pepperoni but they're supposed to cut down on their pepperoni. So even though I ordered a double pepperoni I hardly got any pepperoni at all then was told they're watched how much they put on. So if you want double pepperoni you have to leave an extra note for extra pepperoni. Worst pizza I've ever had. Would not order from there again. Sort it put Papa John's. Your quality used to be the best now it's worse than pizza hut and that's saying something

Awful and Lazy service. I ordered £66 worth of pizza to our cricket club for 11pm, driver arrived at 10.35 and I didn't hear the call as he was early and wasn't expecting it. Noticed and rung back within 7 minutes, but no answer and wasn't anywhere to be seen. Called the shop and they said they didn't know where he was and couldn't get hold of him. An hour later I get a call saying he "Tried" to deliver, but made no attempt to deliver to the door, just sat in his car. If I had delivered this to a house, I would expect delivery to the door, so not sure why calling and leaving straight away is acceptable, especially when he arrived early. Never got my pizza and the shop haven't refunded me despite multiple calls to the shop to ask. I recommend you avoid.

Shop said they would refund me, but despite 2 weeks going by, and multiple calls to them, they still haven't refunded the money. Having seen the other reviews, im not surprised by my experience at all, hopefully this costs them more than £66 they should have refunded. Avoid at all costs.

The app told me it had delivered when it clearly hadn’t and I had to call the restaurant who informed me at 22.18 that he had left 5 minutes ago and had another order. Think the app needs to be sorted out to be able to liaise correctly with the restaurant

Did no enter as outside was filthy.Windows were dirty.was to worried about health to try.Would never use this place until they clean up.

Absolutely terrible service said my food was delivered at 10:52 and finally came at 11:24 it took nearly 2 hours overall to get here not happy at all the food is nearly stone cold!DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU WANT COLD FOOD!
