Came here for a few drinks with friends. Lovely crowd of people, all friendly. Good selection of drinks. Staff very helpful. Enough pool tables for all to enjoy. Well worth the £10 membership!

Waitresses were very polite although under staffed. Very disappointed in our meals. Starter was overcooked.. the chicken burger was burnt although the chips were great.. the coleslaw mayonnaise and onion rings were cheap quality. Dessert was delicious.. best part of our meal. Unfortunately we wouldn’t reccomend or come back. The restaurant itself is run down.. windows needed a clean at our sea view.. toilets were disgusting.. I walked in and walked out.. I couldn’t use the toilets.

One of my favourite places to eat, excellent food and flavours. A good variety, especially for the starters, and the majority of the menu is naturally gluten free and dairy free (but of course check every time you order), so a great place to share dishes - the larger your group the better! Can get very busy so worth phoning to book in advance. Service excellent too!

Having sent the hotel a couple of queries by email well before my stay, I was distinctly unimpressed that, at the time of writing, I still haven't had a response to either. To my mind, that is fairly symptomatic of how this place operates. I was at check-in right on the stroke of 3pm, first in the queue. The lady said 'take a seat' I'll be there in a minute. So I did, as the queue grew and grew. The next thing I see is the aforementioned woman with her coat on, heading for the exit! I just sat and waited as the entire guest list checked in before me. I was in, as requested, accessible accommodation with a wet room, immediately through the nearest door to reception. It was very clean, typically furnished as per brand guidelines, while the bathroom was very well equipped. I liked the Bayliss and Harding toiletries. Only one set of towels though, which meant using damp ones the next morning, the heated towel rail not appearing to work. (Or maybe non-existent?) Being right beside a quite busy roundabout, with a branch of Lidl handy for provisions, as well as the famed middle aisle, I was worried about traffic noise. But the sound proofing was excellent and there were no disturbances from the road at all. But, dear oh dear, for a relatively modern building, the floors creaked dreadfully. It was unbelievable! I'd planned, with checkout being at midday, to spend the morning catching up on work, until I discovered that there was not a single bar of mobile signal in the room. Even in the restaurant, EE couldn't manage more than a single bar. Broadband speed is diabolically slow. The free version managed a parsimonious 0.87mbps upload and download speed, forcing me to spend £5 for a few hours on their 'Premium' product. That was advertised at 8mbps, and was within a short distance of that. BUT Premier Inns should, nowadays, be offering fast broadband free of charge to all guests, like the vast majority of hotels now do. Good internet access is an essential part of modern life. The room was cold, despite me carefully following the instructions, the extraction fan in the bathroom sounded akin to a jumbo jet taking off and the much-trumpeted mattress was horribly soft and did not give a good night's sleep. My repose was not aided by folk walking past the door on those unbelievably creaky floorboards. I can't think that any of the issues I have raised can be addressed by the time I return in a couple of weeks or indeed ever.

What a fabulous evening had by all at The Alex last night at their themed Mamma Mia Greek night. The food was amazing..delivered beautifully by all staff and singer Chelsea had us all dancing within minutes. We all agreed it was fantastic value for mo ey too. Just what we all needed on a January night. Please another one! We're so lucky to have this venue.

Lovely staff who were more than willing to help as we just turned up as a big family. Breakfast arrived quickly and was lovely. It was nice to sit near the information boards (a bit out of the way) as we were concerned our children could be overwhelmed. This meant we could relax and enjoy our breakfast. Well done to the staff for making us feel so welcome.

A New Year, but there are some things we like to remain the same. For one,our regular visits to this cafe. The place is clean and efficiently run by friendly staff. The fish is to die for! To secure a window seat is a bonus with the views across the river or to marvel at the huge boats in dock. Here's wishing all the staff a Happy New Year.

I had high hopes: it was a sunny lunchtime and we were warmly welcomed by friendly staff on arrival. Unfortunately, that was the high point. There were four draft beers on the bar; none were available. We waited over 45 mins for the food. Unlike the descriptions it has not been smoked or barbecued. It was hugely disappointing and came with cheap mass catering sachets of sauce and some bad coleslaw. The waitress dropped two drinks on our table. I would not recommend.
