We normally enjoy a coffee and tea here after a good walk. I have to say i am wondering what the policy is for DOGS here as today while sitting outside not only are Owners allowing their dogs to sit on the benches/seats but also letting a dog onto the table. Whilst we live in a time where we all have to tolerate four legged friends everywhere i find it abhorrent to have to occupy a seat or table and consume food and drink where a dog has done this? Surely this has to be STOPPED.Why can,t dogs remain seated on the floor[bottoms and anal glands need i say more?] I would love to see the Cafe being more proactive with doggy rules in the outside eating area please.

I genuinely adore this cafe. In my family, our days out in Felixstowe are classified as single, double or triple View Point. On a nice day we might just swing by for brunch and then go to the beach for the rest of the day (single View Point). But in rainy February visits, we have tea and cake on arrival, lunch after a rainy walk, and after another walk we have tea and chips before we drive home (triple View Point (we have actually done this)). More commonly we grab a cup of tea and watch the docks, very entertaining, and then lunch/brunch (double View Point). The menu has everything you could ever want - great all-day breakfast options, fish and chips, and every combination of such items you could want. They have lots of extras and smaller portions as well so you can mix and match. The lovely staff don't bat an eyelid whether you're ordering fish fingers at 10am or sausage and chips at 4pm. Teas and coffees from a machine but a good machine, and we're not fancy. Tea is £1.70 which is about as cheap as it gets these days. Tea cakes, scones and muffins are nice too. We love it here because everyone can get exactly what they want. Simple things like cheese on toast are great for kids too! Good prices and fast service. However busy it seems we always manage to find a corner with a view of the docks, which is a unique dining experience. We have been fans for a few years now and will be returning for many years in future!

Very clean and modern cafe servings good food, drinks and ice creams and cakes. Great view of the docks and if you are lucky a huge container ship nearby, right on beach front. There is inside and outside seating. We had fish and chips, beautiful fresh fish and a huge plate each. The staff are “on the ball” too, always cleaning and clearing tables. A very well run cafe with good food.

The food is great, the place clean and tidy. Only grumble I have is that yes dogs are allowed outside, but when inside you are require to sit in wind tunnel between two doors. Their are tables set in a spacious area to one side the counter, away from the main eating area, why can't people with dogs be allowed to sit there when we have inclement weather or at any other time they would not interfere with the main eating area at all. Come on be completely dog friendly not just partly.

Enjoyed a very good and reasonably priced cappuchino here having walked on a drizzly day from the town centre. Nice atmosphere and I imagine on a sunny day it must be great to sit out and watch the goings on at the port alongside. There is a bus stop at the top and I found out that the 77 bus runs hourly into town (and onto Ipswich). I didn’t want to visit the fort and sadly the museum was closed on Tuesdays. But I braved the wet and wind and ventured into the nature reserve - enjoyed that too.

Cannot understand why anyone comes here. Such a disappointment after the other Yeo Restaurants. This place is just an expensive greasy spoon, with very average food. Scampi and fish tasted of absolutely nothing. Chips tasted of oil. Coffee rough. Given a strange cheap plastic bucket with a ‘food number’ on - could understand that if you got given cutlery and serviettes in it, but you had to help yourself to them. Realised we had made a big mistake, but blamed ourselves for staying despite seeing menu.

Docks are rarely salubrious and towns featuring docks are often rather rough. Step forward Point View Cafe. Almost in the water by Felixstowe docks. But what a pleasant surprise. Coffee - from a machine - unexpectedly good. The Cheese Scones, amongst the finest we have ever eaten. No wonder it was so busy. Hayling Seagoon

Great place. Been there loads of times and will continue to do so. Service is great. Last visit was spoilt by dog owner that (seemingly) couldn’t understand why the constant barking of one of her two dogs might not be enjoyable - or am I unusual in not liking constantly barking dogs? This is definitely a cafe with a view. Watching 22000 containers being loaded onto one of the world’s biggest container ships. Watching another massive ship leave port. Who knew this could be so interesting?!? We were informed, upfront, of a 30 minute wait for food. We had fish and ships and croque madame, which were both good. The team are excellent, very cheery / efficient and we never felt under pressure to move from our table, despite finishing eating, so that we could watch the boats. Thankyou!

We breakfast here a few times a month and also the occasional lunch and absolutely love the place- the Staff are always welcoming and the cleanliness top notch - the food is freshly cooked with most products locally sourced. The cooked breakfast come in various sizes so although the Fisherman's brekkie is enough for us ( I once tried the medium sized Tug Drivers breakfast but couldn't manage it!) I think that the largest sized Hand baller's Brunch would satisfy even the most hungriest of appetites. The Cafe is well known locally for it's "Fish & Ships" and as a diehard cod & chip fan this is my go-to lunch choice and am always appreciative of the size of the Cod and the crispiness of the chips: Yum! There are plenty of inside seating and a fenced in terrace overlooking the Port to enjoy in warmer weather. The adjacent car park is free for the first half hour but payable thereafter so sometimes we enjoy a walk along the shore line to walk off the food we indulged. A little tip is to join the Yeo Group mailing list where you'll receive a "2 for 1" offer at various times of the year which makes the Cafe excellent value and to also be aware that all payment is by Card only..

Husband & I visited this morning. We’re fairly local so have been to the cafe many times & love to sit outside on a good day whatever the season, the view is lovely while you enjoy your drink. We don’t always eat on our visit. On a previous visit we had a toasted teacake with our coffee but they were both so hard & dry(think it had been waiting to come out to us a good while under the heat) so we decided we wouldn’t choose that again! Today we liked the look of the fruit & cheese scones. So disappointing!! Hard & dry!! Maybe yesterdays scones as they were stale tasting! I left a good bit of my cheese scone & my husband brought half of his home & the birds had it!! On a real positive note, the staff here are always welcoming & friendly. We’ll be back …..but will probably stick with just coffee!!!

This cafe has a captive audience of people watching the ships dock, shame they can only manage coffee that comes from a Nescafé automatic machine rather than proper coffee, selection of cakes and biscuits available, nothing particularly inviting. They do hot food too and whilst we didn't eat this time we have before and it was okay, do wish cafes wouldn't use the cheapest loaves of bread though for breakfast or toast. It's always busy with visitors to see docks so they could invest in machines to make proper coffee made from the beans and maybe get a bit more adventurous with their cake selection.

I took my 20 year old son for breakfast recently. It was great just catching up with a brilliant breakfast and a large ship just coming out of the port. It was a Sunday morning at 9 a.m.and it was already busy in the cafe. Highly recommend a trip for breakfast it was well cooked, hot and promptly served.

Two of us had a small breakfast,a tea and a coffee and my son had a bacon bap with chips on the side and a cold drink. The food was freshly cooked and tasty, but for what you get it is expensive, over £30 for the 3 of us.

This is a hidden gem of a place to have an Otis Redding Sitting on the Dock of the Bay moment! Up a lengthy lane with rough fields one side & the Fence of the Dockyard on the other it suddenly open up & we found ourselves staring at a Mammoth Tanker/Cargo ship dwarfed by even bigger Cranes. A stunning view indeed.

Although we have visited the café many times this was the first breakfast stop. Disappointingly if you want quantity you won't get it unless you pay well over the odds at least £2 more than it's competitors. However there are other benefits, the view of the working dock and you are allowed to take your dog into the hallway section to eat. The site has clean toilets as well.

We took advantage of an unexpectedly sunny Sunday to take a friend in a wheelchair for a stroll on the prom and brunch at the Alex — where we knew there was an accessible loo, should it be needed. Our order included a vegan breakfast, muffin and poached eggs and smoked haddock fishcakes, plus cake. All were good, fresh and well-cooked. Hats off to the chef who perfectly poached those eggs. The staff were friendly and professional and went out of their way to help us with wheelchair manoeuvring. The place feels well-run.

Stopped here for some breakfast and on entering we were met by a very cheerful friendly lady who showed us to a table. We had a yummy breakfast, it was delicious, together with some great coffee. All the staff were attentive, happy, and cheerful. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely go again when visiting Aldeburgh!

Over-priced food - an unbelievable £4.75 for a stodgy, tasteless cheese scone with one pat of hard, cold butter. Only managed to eat half of it, really unpleasant, threw the rest away. The cakes were not covered and crawling with flies. Sandwiches even more over-priced at £8.25 for a small cheese sandwich with white bread. This cafe used to be so much better. Will drive past in future and not stop here.

Ver disappointed. Two young girls on duty who were indifferent to our questions. We sat down and neither came to ask if we needed drinks before ordering. There was only one other family in the restaurant. Left without ordering. Have been before with better results but not happy with the lack of service.

Stayed here for the Easter Break from good Friday till the Monday. Such a lovely feel to this hotel. The food on Saturday evening was to die for we had our friends join us and all had Beef Wellington and all agreed the best one we have ever had ! Second time staying at this hotel and would definitely go back as staff and management are lovely.
