The Waffle Shack in Suffolk Coastal

This is my sons favourite place in the world. He loves the waffles (now he has got used to the new style ones). He loves sitting in and all the staff we have encountered are so lovely. Be patient. All is made from scratch and they can be very busy. Worth the wait

Disappointing Experience at The Waffle Shack I had high hopes for The Waffle Shack, but my recent visit was incredibly disappointing. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt off—almost awkward. It was as if the staff didn't want to be there, and that feeling rubbed off on the entire dining experience. We waited far too long just to be acknowledged, and it wasn't even busy. It took ages before someone finally came to take our order, as there was a lack of enthusiasm from the staff as they were more interested in gossiping then serving.They seemed uninterested and unwelcoming, which made the whole situation uncomfortable. When the food finally arrived, it was fine, but the poor customer service overshadowed everything. We expected a much better experience given the hype around this place, but instead, we left feeling let down and frustrated. Overall, the service was subpar, the wait was unreasonable, and the atmosphere was far from enjoyable. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend it to others either.

My boy loves their milkshakes!! Definitely worth going to when you're in Beach Street, Felixstowe

Ordered a gluten free/vegan waffle along with a normal one. My food turned up with nothing labelled so there was no way of knowing which waffle was which. The sauces weren’t labelled so we couldn’t tell which was vegan and there was only one tub of ice cream (supposed to be 2) again without any label as to know if it was vegan or not. By the time we contacted the restaurant multiple times to work out what was what the waffles were cold and with the main ingredients missing for the gluten free one. I was told by the lady on the phone to request a refund through just eat but they’ve declined my refund. So I’m £20 without a waffle. Really disappointed.

We are regular customers at this lovely place and it’s always a great experience. Yesterday I took a group of kids for ice cream and waffles after school for my daughter’s birthday and the owner was so lovely and accommodating. She was so kind and patient with the children, helping them decide what to order, and catered to all of their different requests happily and with ease. I appreciated it so much!

Incredibly slow service. Over 25 minutes for a single, slightly undercooked, waffle despite not appearing overly busy when ordering. Staff did not warn of potential wait time when ordering, but did becone busy with multiple large orders after I had placed my order which seemed to throw them. No apology given for wait. Staff clearly in need of further training on how to manage orders in a reasonable time frame.

The waffles and shakes here are amazing and delicious but have been disappointed the last couple times I have ordered on JustEat as they have cancelled the order and then closed on the app.

Really slow service- waiting over 30 minutes for 1 kids crepe, staff really in experienced and lacking customer service skills.

This place has the best waffles imaginable I would definitely recommend this place for when you are in Felixstowe you will not be disappointed. The waffles are amazing and so are the Shakes and the staff are very efficient and amazing and beautiful if I might add. But yeah definitely give this place a go because you will NOT be disappointed.

Love the Waffle shack , great waffles and shakes , always go when in Felixstowe, sadly on my last visit last Sunday the staff were not friendly it was busy and they were maybe u see a bit of pressure but a few more smiles and politeness would have helped our experience

Our current favourite Waffle is the ‘Summer Special’ which has fresh diced Mango & Raspberries.

I've only had a biscoff milkshake from here but it was amazing. It was made by Moe and was so delicious. There are many different options and some of the others I saw being made looked great too. I had a little bit of a wait as it was a busy Sunday lunchtime but it was well worth it.

Really disappointed with the service and quality of food. Ordered a simple bacon and cheese panini as I though it would be quick and simple - took 40 minutes and was burnt. Unfortunately didn’t try anything sweet but the savoury service was poor.

Delicious waffles! We got the vegan Canadian Maple & Biscoff waffles, both were perfect. I'd highly recommend a trip to Beach Street for the waffles alone!

A great place for gluten free or dairy free treats. One of the only local places I know that offer lactose and gluten free pancakes.

Had the most delicious vegan waffles here at the weekend 😋 super fluffy and crispy and generous toppings, I had the berry waffle and my partner had the biscoff one. Reasonably priced and really yummy. We will definitely be back!

Lovely fresh cooked waffles. Spotlessly clean. Friendly staff. A choice of all the toppings you could wish for. Waffles with berries, strawberry ice cream and strawberry sauce! Top job!

Great destination for a little treat. Especially after a brisk walk along the prom! Really tasty waffles and shakes. Great selection of hot drinks, the orange hot chocolate was delish 😋 Lovely atmosphere, the staff were warm and welcoming. Would highly recommend

What makes part of the waffle shack experience such a treat is the welcome by the owner and her staff. My daughter loves the waffles and the choice of toppings is great. The waffles are delicious. Can not wait to return and the try the toasties

Had a wonderful waffle down the shack on Sunday 26th Feb. Not only was the food - one waffle with syrup, chocolate sprinkles & ice cream delicious, the coffee was tasty too. Plus the lady behind the counter was busy but extremely attentive to all the customers, particularly when it started to rain & some moved in for shelter from outside. Nothing phased her and the young girl who was prepping the food. Really lovely atmosphere and the food was great - will definitely visit again when in Felixstowe!

Great selection and fab place to eat. All staff polite, the place is always clean and tidy. Popular destination for Beach Street so highly recommended!

Had another yummy visit to the Waffle shack. The kids love it here and the staff are super friendly and helpful. It’s such a lovely treat and the whole of Beach street is really coming together. Very happy to support these small businesses and have something delicious while doing so!

If you want to visit somewhere where you feel like an incovenience to the owner/manager, this is the place for you. As soon as you set foot in this place, the manager can't get you out fast enough, but not before the sarcastic comments and attempts to choose what you want for you. Not only this but it is very clear from the timid waiting staff that this place is run by a control freak. I wouldn't bother, there's plenty of better places a stone's throw away.

Really good customer service and great food for all the family! The waffles are light and fluffy, the topping choices are endless and the crepes were cooked to perfection. Perfect choice of drinks and all at really reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

I was a bit disappointed by the size of the Crepe I had today after seeing all the amazing picture on here.

The 2 shakes was amazing well worth the money and treat. Unfortunately the waffle was such a let down it was flat and hard with no taste. The toppings was indulgent tho and well done. Overall a good drink but bad food but would give it a secound go due to the pictures of how the waffles should be.

Ordered yesterday. Crepe was really rubbery and soggy, didn’t end up eating it as really didn’t enjoy it much at all. I felt that for what I got it was very overpriced and I am very disappointed with the quality of food that I received.

Ordered a lotus biscoff waffle for delivery through just eat. The waffle turned up stone cold and the ice cream was rock hard! I've never seen such a flat waffle! It was absolutely awful!!!!!

Enjoyed a coffee here. Nice location and novel set up in a refurbished shipping container. Outdoor tables available too. Staff were friendly and the waffles looked great. Will treat myself next time!

The waffle shack was absolutely amazing!! Waffles crepes milkshakes and more it is excellent as a place to enjoy pudding !!! The waffles were big but not overlay sweet (you can fix this with the choice of toppings though!) The staff were friendly and welcoming and it was a bubbly relaxed atmosphere. It is excellent here and they do takeaway waffles too!

Visited on 29.8.2021. Ordered three waffles, Americano, Latte and Hot Chocolate. All excellent, but you really need a sweet tooth for the waffles (maybe stating the obvious) and the waffle does lose its consistency quite quickly under all the toppings. That said, kids loved them!! Staff very friendly and service was quick.

Went to have a look after fish and chips and couldn't stop myself going for a waffle with cinnamon and vanilla ice-cream. It was really, really good. Lovely texture and really nice, classic flavours. Very much enjoyed the wander around Felixstowe today and looking forward to visiting Beach Street more regularly.

Can't fault this place. Always lovely waffles, pancakes, or milkshakes. Staff brilliant.

I took the missus here for a "romantic meal", & conveniently left my card at home lol. This is most definitely the place to go for waffles in Felixstowe. The pancakes are good too, but the waffles were the most impressive. We had the "nuts about nuts" waffles/pancakes, & had no complaints at all. The milkshakes weren't great though. However the service was excellent, & the staff on duty were both cheerful & helpful. They are soon to be adding savoury pancakes to the menu. We'll be going back again sometime soon.

Some of the best waffles I've ever had. Went to this place the other day and it was amazing, the staff were lovely and welcoming and the presentation on the waffles was amazing, looked like a work of art. I can recommend this to anyone who is wanting to try something new. Leslie Knope would be impressed

Went in today after looking for a coffee shop. Spotted the waffle shack so decided to try them out. They didn't have a coffee shake but were more than happy to try making one. It tasted AMAZING!!! the staff were really helpful and friendly. And the waffles coming past me looked delicious. Apparently they are going to do gluten free ones very soon Woohoo. Also price's were very good. We will be back!
